After the aliens has been sent back into space as they usually were, Rose and the Doctor run into each other; A different each other. John Smith and Rose completely mimic the Doctor and Rose Tyler in both personality and looks, but opposite them in role as a Time Lord and human. They delve into the lives of their doppelgangers as the reason they came is slowly revealed.
