After TNOTD, the Doctor needs some time to unwind and process everything that's happened. He's heartsick and weary, and so he turns to an old friend for help. (Note: this is my first foray ever into DW fanfiction, so if it sucks . . . well, just be gentle with me, okay?) 11th Doctor/OC with mentions of past companions and 11/River, rated M for future chapters.

The Doctor is captured and drugged, but Amy and Rory can't help him now. When a strange woman in a glowing TARDIS materializes in front of him, Rory doesn't know if he can trust her - and even her help may not be enough to quell the storm that's been brewing around the Doctor for centuries.

This is the story of how the 11th Doctor meets a new friend after the loss of Amy and Rory.

My take on what the 50th anniversary show COULD be (won't be anything like this, but so what?). The 10th Doctor's half-human copy, John Smith, embarks on a mission to reclaim his Time Lord heritage, a mission which will push the Doctor - all of the Doctors - to their absolute limits. Not remotely interested in ships or pairings or slash - this is a plot fic pure and simple.
