Disclaimer: I don't own Gravity Falls or the characters. The only characters I own are my own. I was reading fanfiction called Family is What You Make It by fEmAleNoMad and that story inspired me to create this story. fEmAleNoMad, I hope this story isn't too similar to your own story. And if it is, please let me know.

Guilt. That's what Stanley Pines was feeling at the moment. His eyes were staring at the portal with shock and hurt in his eyes. He could feel his shoulder burning, but Stanley didn't care. He came to his brother's aid, but instead of helping him, Stanley and his twin brother got into a fight. That's when Stanley - not meaning to - pushed his brother into the portal that was on. Stanley was on his knees with his brother's journal and glasses in his hands. At that moment, Stanley Pines decided to find a way to turn the portal back on to get his brother back. However, he was tired and noticed he only has the first journal. Stanley assumed there has to be other journals, but he didn't know how many his brother create.
He let out a heavy sigh, leaving the basement. Stanley wanted to be alone, but the moment he stepped into the front room, he heard crying. His eyes widened and he followed the cries up the stairs into the attic. He slammed the door open to see two cribs in the attic. One was pink and the other was blue. Common colors for babies. Both of the toddlers (who didn't look older than one) were crying. Stanley, not used to being around kids, picked each child up. Their screams turn into soft whimpers when they opened their eyes. They were staring up at him as if they knew him. Well, Stanley and his twin brother were identical twins, so the babies might not know the difference.
The babies' whimpers turned into soft cries. Stanley decided to see if they needed a diaper change, which they didn't. Stanley was a bit happy about that. He figured his brother's children - Stanley's niece and nephew - were hungry. He left the room, heading down the stairs to the front room. Stanley placed the infants into the play pan before heading to the kitchen. Lucky for him, there were two bottles in the fridge. Stanley walked back to the front room, taking his niece and nephew out of the play pan. He feed them at the same time, watching the toddlers. Their eyes were on Stanley. Stanley smiled down at the children, not understanding how his nerdy brother could get a woman pregnant and have twin children.
After the babies finished their bottles, Stanley burped each of them before returning them to their room. They fell asleep right when they were placed into the cribs. Stanley stood there for a moment before looking around the room to see if he could see his nephew's and niece's names somewhere, but he couldn't.
Stanley left the attic and walked toward his brother's room. He glanced around the room, noticing some papers sticking out of a desk. He sat down in the chair, opening the drawer. These papers were about his nephew and niece.

Stanley could feel his eyes tearing up. His brother named his son after Stanley. He thought his brother hated him. However, he thought wrong. His twin must have still loved him if he named his only son after Stanley Pines, the man that ruin his brother's chances to get into West Coast Tech.
And then there was his niece, who was named after his ma. Hopefully, Caryn will not turn out like her grandmother.
His brother seemed like he was getting his life on track. Stanley felt sadness when he looked down at the birth certificates. The children's mother wasn't written on the birth certificates. He was wondering why. That's when Stanley's eyes caught more papers. The mother of his niece and nephew gave his brother sole custody of young Caryn and Stanley Pines. Heck, those kids need nicknames. It was weird for Stanley to say his own name and his mother's name.
His mother. Stanley's mind drifted to his parents. Did they even know about the twins (or are they really twins if they were born on different days?) that his brother had? Probably not. Stanley thought about calling his mother but decided against it at the moment.
Stanley leaned forward on the desk, placing his hands over his face. He didn't know what he was going to do now. His brother was missing in the portal he created all because of Stanley Pines.
Stanley didn't stop the tears from falling. It seems like everything he touches breaks. Maybe his dad was right about him. Stanley cannot do things right. He quickly shook his head, slamming his palms on the desk, and stood up. Stanley wasn't going to give up that easily. He was going to be someone - even if he has to pretend to be his brother and fake his death. Stanley was going to raise his brother's children and try to reactive the portal. Nothing was going to stop Stanley Pines now.
