The sound of gunfire rang out through the comms as Catherine swore under her breath. Tariq began trying to get hold of Lucas as Calum began hacking every security camera between the Grid and their last known location.

"Get back here." Ruth stated firmly. "Dimitri, Zaf and CO19 on route as back up. We need you here, Harry."

"Last location." Harry repeated. Ruth closed her eyes for a moment, knowing that he would never forgive himself if his team were in the field without back up.

"Harry."

"Walthamstow. Ros' tracker places them in Walthamstow."

"Thank you." Harry pushed his foot to the accelerator knowing he had to find his errant agents.

Ros winced as a bullet skimmed past her head. She knew the man they had been looking for had been waiting for them. Hate bubbled in the pit of her stomach knowing that he was almost certainly the gunman who had put Malcolm in ITU. Daniel Lee had already killed his own comrade in cold blood, she had no doubt he would kill again. She held her gun in front of her, glancing to see Zaf break cover from behind a car just a few feet away. The sun, low in the sky was causing shadows to bounce off windows that just served to confuse and disorientate her. Swearing she looked over to where Lucas had apparently entered the building opposite where she stood. Crouching behind the car she briefly wondered how Harry was going to explain the destruction of yet another pool car to the Finance department.

"Clear." Lucas' voice came through the comms. Ros checked her gun before running towards the entrance, zig-zagging through the broken glass and shot out cars. Dimitri ducked before pouncing on her, rugby tackling her to the ground.

"Sorry Boss." He shrugged as the bullets rang out above them. Ros rolled her eyes.

"Move."

Dimitri got to his feet, following her into the office building, hoping he had enough bullets to get them all back to Thames House.

Malcolm felt himself doze off as Sarah squeezed his hand. He knew he had been shot, had been in hospital for a while and that he had Sarah holding his hand. Other than that he really hadn't been able to fathom out what was happening. He sighed, the pain in his abdomen and shoulder fading as the morphine seeped through his system. He could barely keep his eyes open but he was determined to find out what was happening, knowing Sarah would be trying to protect him from the harsh reality that was going on around them.

"Will?"

"Yeah?" Will slipped his phone back into his jacket pocket.

"Who were you following?" She watched as he looked away. In that moment she was reminded of the little boy that she had caught with his hands in the cookie jar decades earlier.

"I."

"I was a spook before you were even thought of. Now, who were you following?"

Will sighed. He knew she was right, there really was no point. Sarah had been an excellent officer, an analyst that had pioneered the field in domestic anti-terrorism. He shrugged his shoulders.

"I thought I saw someone."

"Its a hospital. There are a lot of people here. You need to do better."

"Look." He raised his eyebrows. "I am here to be with you and Uncle Malcolm. There is very little security here. I'm it. I am the security. And while I would be here, even if I wasn't. But it is my job to make sure that while Uncle Malcolm is here you are both safe."

Sarah nodded.

"Again, William. Not answering the question."

"I think we are being watched." Will watched as she held his gaze. "I think the man who shot Uncle Malcolm isn't finished."

Sarah frowned slightly before turning back to her husband as Malcolm apparently slept peacefully.

Lucas ran along the corridor, knowing that the man who had fired at them had to be on the top floor of the flats they were at. He was vaguely aware of Harry talking through the comms but couldn't focus on what was being said. The council flats were in pretty bad shape, on the verge of being demolished. He winced slightly as he realised that there was a very good chance no one had lived in any of the small flats since Daniel Lee had been sentenced.

"Ros," He tapped his earpiece. "I have eyeball." He kept walking as he tried to keep his attention on the shadows in front of him.

"Stay back." Ros ordered as it became clear there was more than one gunman in the building. She heard Dimitri through her ear piece just as Zaf started running.

"The roof." Lucas stated. "He's on the roof."
