Hear me out, I have been gone for a while, and I mean a while. I'm not going to cut corners or lie, I just lost a lot of passion for writing but I just stumbled across fanfiction once again and thought of this story. I signed in and here I am. Without further ado, let's get started!
SHINOBI
"Rah!" Naruto grunted as he pushed himself off the bleached grass of Training Ground 26. He had just stormed out of yet another uneventful day at the academy. It had been one month since he began attending the wretched school and couldn't care less for any of its teachings. He knew exactly what the Hokage had tried to do. He wanted to extinguish his hatred for this village and replace it with the pathetic idea of the Will of Fire.
Too bad for him, Naruto would not allow that. His suffering had been ignored for too long, days of agonizing pain at the hands of the villagers could not leave his mind, even a year later. His eyes trailed down to his worn hands, a testament to his suffering at the hands of this wretched village. He felt the strange demonic chakra within him bubble and pushed it down as his eyes dilated and he blacked out.
*ONE HOUR LATER*
Iruka was really having a bad day. His students were embroiled in another freak-out as Naruto, just minutes earlier, had stormed out of the room, proclaiming that he would rather 'train' than be here at the academy. His ears brimmed with steam as he heard his students blabber on loudly about what had just happened.
"Hey, why does he get to walk out?!" One student from the back shouted, glaring at Iruka's reddened face. His message received support from just about everyone in the classroom, from the nameless civilians all the way to the children of important clan status.
"Yeah, what's so special about him?!" Another voice rang, this time it was from Sakura Haruno, a pink-haired girl with vibrant, green eyes and a smooth, round face. She was dressed in a pink qipao and wore green biker shorts. It was almost humorous the fact that she was barely taller than her desk, yet he stifled his laughter due to the direness of the situation.
"Enough!" Iruka raised his voice. Instantly, the room was quelled. Its simmering screams for explanations drowned out as their faces turned a ghastly white. Their sensei, Iruka Umino, had just unleashed his famed Big Head Jutsu. "I will answer your questions in just a minute!" He shouted towards the scared faces of the juvenile students. Slightly, his features softened at the way they flinched at his voice.
"Why does Naruto get to go out?" A calm voice resounded throughout the classroom, belonging to one Uchiha Sasuke. His fangirls, for the first time ever, quelled the urge to sing his praises and proclaim him the hero of the class in the face of Iruka's anger.
"Naruto is..." Iruka began, "Special." He finished lamely, trying to find words that would answer their questions without giving away his secret as the Kyuubi container. Add to the fact that he himself did not necessarily enjoy Naruto, he never spent time with him and could not find any other adjective to describe him without showing his own bias towards the blonde to the children.
"What type of excuse is that?" Kiba Inuzuka, a boy with brown spiky hair barked a laugh. His face was decorated with two fang-shaped red lines on the left and right sides of his face. His coat was a grey color with fur on the hood and he wore standard ninja pants. His eyes were slit-like, almost like a fox, and had canines for teeth.
"Let me finish," Iruka said, clearly irked at the boy's lack of respect. "Naruto, like I said, is special. He was never treated right in the village and now, he is taking his anger out on it. He never had a proper childhood like you all, so please, when he acts like this, pay him no mind." Iruka finished calmly. As much as he detested Naruto, his background was similar to his. He too grew up as an orphan, they were of the same struggle. After all, it was Naruto who had taken his parents away from him.
"..." The class was silent. They always knew the boy had been through hate, and they themselves did not particularly like him. Of course, they did as their parents said, and stayed away from him, some even going as far as to bully him. Of course, they were sadly mistaken if they thought he was an easy target.
They were left to ponder on that.
Naruto slowly cracked his eyes open, thankful as the sunlight infiltrated his exposed eyes. He groaned and pushed himself up again, feeling very weak. "What happened?" He muttered to himself, unable to understand what occurred between the time of his arrival and his surprise black-out.
His muscles felt strained and sore as he continued to push himself, only to fall flat on his face as he felt a foot on his back bring him back down to reality. The foot belonged to a certain silver-haired ANBU agent by the name of Dog.
"What are you doing here, Naruto?" He inquired, his eyes peered into the boy's back as the blonde continued to struggle in a futile manner.
"I have a better question. Why are you keeping me down and who are you?" Naruto grunted, his eyes trained on the grass. He could barely feel his back, the man holding him down was putting some serious pressure on him.
"I'm ANBU agent Dog. Also, you still haven't answered my question, Naruto Uzumaki. Why are you at Training Ground 26 instead of the Academy?" He inquired with a steely voice. Relinquishing his foot from the young boy's back, he rolled him over and dragged him up by his hand.
Naruto stood face to face with the silver-haired man. His eyes were left visible through the mask yet there was an eerie sense of nothingness. The left eye was completely black and blank. The right hand, though, was a completely different story. It was covered by a thick Konoha headband and Naruto could only wonder why a man would impair himself.
"I'm not at that pathetic academy because there's nothing to learn there!" Naruto shouted, ready to storm off before his arm was grabbed swiftly by the older and more seasoned man.
"Naruto, you will return back to the Academy under my supervision whether you like it or not." Dog said, his voice muffled by the overbearing mask that was on his face.
"First of all, how do you know my name? Who are you?!" Naruto turned on his heel to face the mysterious Konoha ninja. "What is it that you want?!" He screamed again, this time his voice becoming tainted with somewhat of a demonic voice.
'Oh, oh.' Kakashi thought, his ears picking up on the ominous voice that Naruto carried. This was indefinitely the Nine-Tail's influence. "Well for starters, I cannot reveal my name to you, Naruto. Secondly, the Academy is mandatory, and you will attend. That's all you need to know." He finished thoroughly, hoisting the boy over his shoulder and teleporting to the Academy.
Unceremoniously dropping the boy, Dog turned on his heel and raced forward and vanished.
Inside the Academy
"So nice of you to join us once again..." Iruka said sourly as he gazed at the blonde entering the room. As the door creaked open, the students peered at the boy who was making his way to the desks, catching his usual seat near Hinata Hyuuga, whom he did not have a good relationship with.
"Would you like to explain to us where you were, Naruto?" Iruka questioned, the class also sticking their necks out intently, trying to hear the blonde's answer.
"Training," Naruto said curtly, as the class deadpanned at the boy's nonchalant answer.
"Obviously, Naruto. Why did you storm out is the question?" Sasuke retorted calmly. He wanted to know what was up with this Naruto figure. He had been at the Academy for one month and had done nothing good unless it was his individual performances, which Sasuke could admit were stellar.
"I can leave when I want, dumbass!" Naruto snapped at the raven-haired boy who scowled back but did not retort. The class flinched at his callous insult but like the Uchiha, did not say anything.
"That is no way to treat your classmate, Naruto!" Iruka shouted, his face reddened with anger. "Just for that, go in the corner and practice your bunshin!" Iruka said with a smirk. Even though Naruto was a stellar student in most aspects, his insurmountable amount of chakra threw off his chakra control and he could never make one correctly.
Naruto grunted with a scowl and trudged his way past the row of desks toward the corner of the classroom. Eyes followed him closely as he neared his destination and he felt their gazes burning into his back.
He brought his hand into the bunshin sign and gathered his powerful chakra, rustling his hair and shaking the classroom floor before allowing it to drop considerably. "Bunshin No Jutsu!" He growled and out came a disheveled and ghastly clone of his self.
Uproarious laughter escaped the class as they witnessed the 'toughest' boy in class fuck up a clone jutsu. On the other hand, Naruto could feel morbid embarrassment. Killing intent flooded the class and his chakra surged again. It was almost like an aura of red surrounded his body and laughter suddenly stopped.
He liked this feeling of power, he liked the feeling of dominance and assertiveness. From today, he decided he liked control.
Last Class of Academy
The class was still spooked by Naruto's display of power just hours ago and as such, they were very, very scared to be here right now. It was the most dreaded part of the day, the sparring.
Hand-to-hand combat would ensue shortly and the only people who looked remotely excited were Naruto and Sasuke. Of course, Naruto knew he would blow them all out and Sasuke thought, correctly, that he had a chance against Naruto, disregarding all other classmates.
After a few uneventful fights, Naruto's turn came up. It was against the dog boy, Kiba Inuzuka. "Alright, may everyone please stand back..." Iruka trailed. Following their sensei's orders, the students, sans Naruto and Kiba, all walked backward a sizable distance. "Now, may Kiba and Naruto please come up to the arena!" Iruka announced, to which Naruto and Kiba both made their entrance to the makeshift arena.
"So, ready to lose, freak?" Kiba inquired arrogantly, a smirk on his face. In response, Naruto glared hard at the canine-wielding boy and retorted, "Just wait and see what happens."
"Without further ado, Hajime!" Iruka began the battle as the two boys flew into a flurry of fists almost immediately. Naruto and Kiba were almost tied when it came to straight taijutsu, with Kiba having a slight edge. It was as if they were playing bloody knuckles as they smashed their fists together painfully, time and time again.
"Rah!" Naruto grunted, throwing himself over towards Kiba's frame before delivering an earth-shattering fist to the boy's abdomen. Kiba spat a globule of crimson blood, just small enough for Iruka not to notice and as such, Naruto continued his barrage.
With a haymaker, Naruto delivered a spine-breaking kick to the boy's head and the dog boy's face turned an unearthly green at the pain he was feeling. Regaining his bearings slowly, Kiba charged towards the winded Naruto and sent him flying towards the corner of the arena with a deadly kick. He followed up with an unbelievably powerful punch that rendered the blonde dizzy.
Just like that, it all stopped for Naruto. In his one month at the Academy, he had never lost a single fight, be it an easy victory over a powerless student, or a tie against the mighty Sasuke Uchiha, he had never lost.
It dawned on him that he might lose, for the first time, ever.
Pain ensued in Kiba's jaw as Naruto, seemingly having had a second wind, delivered a mind-breaking headbutt to the boy. Kiba could barely feel the left side of his face as he brought his bruised arm up to feel it. Taking advantage of his dazed state, Naruto followed up with an uppercut and roundhouse kick directed straight at Kiba's stomach, who unceremoniously puked up his lunch and collapsed, unconscious.
Iruka stood there gazing at the blonde and Kiba's downed form, his jaw hanging low in shock. It seemed like Kiba had Naruto on the ropes, and though he was ashamed of his unprofessionalism, he was rooting for the dog-boy. In a second, everything took a turn for the worse.
Naruto completely dominated the course of the fight from then on, as he swiftly rendered the aspiring shinobi unconscious before jumping off the stage and returning to his rightful spot.
Much like Iruka, the class was shocked at the boy's callous knock-out of the third strongest boy in their grade. Sure, Naruto was very strong, as much as they hate to admit it, but the way he disposed of Kiba was very unnatural. Of course, humans tend to fear the unnatural, and their hate of Naruto Uzumaki taught to them by their parents, turned to fear.
One boy though, did not hate nor fear the supposed 'demon.' No, he was intrigued greatly. Sasuke Uchiha stood there watching Naruto with a dumbfounded expression on his young face. He was utterly flabbergasted at the blonde's incredible burst of speed and strength and in typical Uchiha fashion, went over to Naruto to do some 'investigating.'
"Naruto, how on earth did you do that?!" Sasuke struggled to contain his excitement and amazement at his self-proclaimed rival's victory. He supposed that if he found himself in a rivalry with someone worthwhile, he would be able to surpass his beloved brother Itachi and make his stern father proud. Of course, he would become clan head of the Uchiha on the way.
"Shut up." Naruto glared at him, shutting down Sasuke's advances in a flat tone. Sasuke bristled at the comment and was ready to argue with the blonde boy before he heard a loud voice.
"Next up, Sasuke and Yoroe!" Iruka proclaimed, failing to hide his amazement from the spectacle that was Naruto's supposed power boost. Sasuke grumbled that his opponent was basically fodder as he walked up towards the makeshift arena. His annoyance was peaked as his fan club continued to chant his name. For the first time, Sasuke felt some genuine thanks towards his self-proclaimed rival, Naruto, as he shut them up.
"Would you shut up already?!" Naruto shouted at the girls, who, seeing as they were being commanded to shut up by Naruto of all people, quickly did so.
As both contestants made it to the arena, Iruka stood in the middle, his hands between both students. "Is everybody ready?" He asked, to which the answer was both confident nods. "Hajime!" Iruka proclaimed, before speeding backward so as to not get in between the two students who were about to spar.
Sasuke stood there, waiting for Yoroe to make the first move. Of course, as an untrained civilian child, Yoroe did just that. He charged at the raven-haired Uchiha boy, his fist cocked back, ready to deliver a sloppy punch. Sasuke made to defeat swiftly, disarming the boy by grabbing his hand and placing it behind his back.
"Surrender," Sasuke said cockily, a smirk plastered on his face. To this, his fans could not help but cheer which killed young Sasuke's mood and his smirk disappeared. 'Can they just shut up for once, goddamnit!'
Yoroe, while not being the most physically adept, certainly made up for it in the cunningness department as he took advantage of Sasuke's lapse of annoyance and barraged him with sloppy punches. Immediately, Sasuke let the boy go as he felt the punches connect. It wasn't as if the punches hurt or anything, he was just caught off guard.
"Sneaky tricks, huh?" Sasuke inquired, his eyes boring into his opponent who shakily stood up. "Pathetic." The Uchiha boy remarked as he charged at Yoroe aiming to swipe him off his feet and make him fall on his ass.
Yoroe dodged in the nick of time but was not ready for the haymaker that awaited his cranium. Unceremoniously, the civilian dropped and was carried over to the nursery by Ino, who dropped him near Kiba's bed swiftly, opting to congratulate Sasuke's swift victory over prioritizing the safety of her fellow classmate.
"Pathetic." Naruto spat at Sasuke with a smirk on his whiskered face. His ocean-blue eyes bored into the Uchiha's charcoal blocks. "Almost lost to a civilian." He stated with a laugh.
Sasuke growled, having enough of the boy's taunts. Just then, a brilliant idea came to his head. With a smirk, he announced. "Aren't you a civilian yourself, Naruto Uzumaki?" He stretched Naruto's last name, which earned a glower from said boy.
Opting to walk off rather than continue to entertain the Uchiha's futile attempts at conversation, Naruto stuffed his hands in his black pants and walked away without a second thought. Sasuke of course was having none of that, and trailed after him, only to be bombarded by his fangirls.
"Oh, wow! Sasuke-kun you are so strong!" One girl from the crowd cooed as she tried to feel his bicep. Sasuke blanched before removing himself from her grip only to be grabbed by another.
"Incredible, just incredible. How are you so dreamy, Sasuke-kun!" Saruka chirped from the crowd as she grabbed hold of his other bicep with stars in his eyes. He didn't even have time to remove himself from their grip as another one cemented itself around his neck.
"What a wonder you are, Sasuke-kun! Wonderful, handsome, strong! What is bad about you?" Ino sighed just as dreamily as Sakura, her arm snaking around the Uchiha boy's uncomfortable form. As he continued to be barraged by the female's futile attempts at trying to gain his attraction, he noticed multiple envious looks from the majority of the boys.
"Troublesome," Shikamaru muttered in between bouts of sleepiness. On the left side of him, Choji snickered at Sasuke's misfortunes in between rounds of large bags of chips that he kept with him at all times.
In the background, Naruto smiled condescendingly at the boy's obvious discomfort and was noticed automatically by Sasuke's above-average vision. "Damn you, Naruto..." He mouthed, and Naruto caught it, his devious smile widening.
"With that, class is adjourned. Have a nice day everyone!" Iruka announced, pleasantly smiling at everyone before he teleported away in a gust of wind and a swirl of leaves.
"Damn, he really needs to teach us that..." Everyone in the classroom muttered before going their own separate ways. Of course, Sasuke would be tailed by his fangirls as the village populace chortled at his misfortune or fortune, however, you want to see it.
Far, far away in a deep, dark lair, things were far less jovial than in Konoha.
"Excellent..." Orochimaru muttered as he revised the information passed on to him by his faithful spy, Kabuto. "Excellent indeed..."
