Erika and Hibana quietly moved through the broken-down mail packaging warehouse avoiding the flashlights of the arms dealers. Erika cursed a bit as she let loose a little sneeze. Hibana hissed as some flashlight pointed her way, "Can we not get a repeat of last time, you damn klutz!"

Erika meekly apologized as they held their breath, hoping the weapon dealers didn't hear them. Right before Erika could hit the hay on the long Monday weekday, she got called in for an anti-weapons deal operation with Fuki Harukawa as squad leader along with Sakura Otome, and Hibana Kagari.

Apart from Sakura being present, the mission group along with the mission itself was practically the same exact situation that ended up with Erika hostage and Takina sent to LycoReco.

Erika was going to make sure that the mission wasn't going to be a repeat.

The mission was simple. There was a scheduled arms deal in an hour towards the center of the warehouse with the mission being to take out the dealers and then call in DA cleaners to collect the illegal weapons. Sakura and Fuki would approach from one end of the warehouse while the other two would approach the other. This ensured that it was a clean sweep on any enemy deterrents as well as surrounding the dealers in the center.

It was a simple job.

In and out.

Nice and clean.

Well…that was hope anyway.

"Anyone there?" the voice of one of the dealers grunted as the sounds of their footsteps grew louder. Hibana cursed as she and Erika dashed into a nearby empty room. As the two Lycoris entered, Hibana ducked underneath a desk while Erika hid behind a broken column.

"You're crazy, man. ACHOO!"

"Ugh, gross!"

"Sorry. This entire warehouse is an allergy nightmare. Every step it's a freaking mushroom cloud of dust."

"Stop being a baby and just look around. I swore I heard someone."

Erika held her breath as she saw two flashlight beams enter the room. Soon two men entered the room, one skinny and the other as large as the room itself. From the corner of her eye, she saw Hibana point her head toward the fat one that was approaching her hiding spot. Erika nodded as she pulled out a knuckleduster while Hibana pulled out a garrote.

While normally they would use their guns, they couldn't risk causing too much noise as they had lost their silencers. They had lost them fighting two men prior. The two men had smashed their silencers resulting in a quick hand-to-hand that resulted in the two Lycoris winning. Luckily, Erika managed to keep both shooters alive, much to Hibana's dismay as she wanted to choke them out. But the noise of two more men approaching had convinced Hibana otherwise.

The fat one took a seat on the desk. Erika pointed her finger and Hibana nodded, acknowledging that Erika would act first, "Ugh…I thought weapon deals were short and sweet. Like taiyakis. God, I am hungry."

Erika took a breath, "These guys are idiots. I can just knock my guy out. I don't need to kill him. I can just knock him out and tie him up. I don't have to kill. I don't have to kill. I can go non-lethal. I can just tie them up and hide them. There isn't any need. They're just grunts. I don't have to kill. I don't have to kill. I can save them. I don't have to kill."

"Stop complaining and keep looking around."

"Man, I should've stopped for some Agito taiyakis."

"First, lay off the sweets. Eat anymore and you'll explode. Second, they're jacking the prices up, and considering we're broke, I advise not buying any more. Third, shut up and keep looking around."

"Wait they're jacking up the prices?"

"Shut up."

"Man, that's totally screwed up," the shooter complained as he sneezed again, "I should've stayed home instead of this. Maybe this was a mistake. I mean I just wanted some cash! Not sell freakin weapons. Ugh…. this is a mistake."

"Look, I'll get us some taiyakis after this, all right? Just tough it out. Your family's broke and needs the cash, right? So just be quiet and-," The skinny man did not finish his sentence as Erika quickly dashed out, her knuckleduster uppercutting the man's jaw. The fat man quickly noticed his friend's plight and went to go help only for Hibana to leap from her hiding spot, wrapping the garrote around the fat man's neck.

Erika quickly slid her legs into her target as he fell onto his back. Erika quickly moved as the DA agent slammed her elbow into the man's nose, knocking him out completely. She quickly got back on her feet and her eyes widened as she saw Hibana still strangling her target.

"Hibana, let's go," Erika whispered as the fat man went limp and fell unconscious, "He's knocked out! Let's move!"

But Hibana refused as she continued to strangle the man.

"Hibana, he's out! There's no need to-"

There was a loud crack.

Erika's closed her eyes as Hibana got off the arms dealer, his body falling onto the ground. Hibana grabbed her bag which had fallen off her in the scuffle. She opened it up and she sighed in relief, "Flashbangs are intact."

Lifeless.

"He was knocked-"

"Shut it, Chisato Junior. Shit like this is why I'm glad I stopped being your roommate," Hibana snapped as she moved toward the entrance of the room, completely indifferent to what she had done. She tapped her earpiece, "Harukawa, this is Kagari. We got sidetracked a bit but we're proceeding ahead. Be there in five."

Kagari moved out of sight, leaving only Erika in the room. The Lycoris quickly took out her wire gun and tied her target up, launching bands at his legs and arms. She quickly then took out a bandage and gagged the man's mouth as she shoved him into a nearby closet.

The young girl then quickly moved over the dead man, standing over the body.

Erika quietly closed the man's eyes.

And moved forward.

The young Janome tried her best not to throw up as she heard the dealers speak.

"Holy shit, the shotgun did what?"

"Blew his arm straight off!"

"Ha! Man, I love our line of business. Larger than life stories and even larger piles of cash."

"Ugh, talking about cash…. when's our customers coming?"

"Uh….twenty minutes? Yeah, twenty minutes. We just need to guard this out till they get here."

Erika cringed as she held her nose trying not to sneeze. The mission was at its climax as all the Lycoris were all at their positions. She almost yelped as she almost tripped on a box as she and Hibana quietly made their way behind a column. Hibana rolled her eyes as she tapped her earpiece, "We're in position."

"Otome and I are in position as well," Fuki's voice buzzed in Erika's earpiece as she quietly looked behind the column where she was hiding. The four Lycoris surrounded the group of fifteen arms dealers, the sounds of sadistic laughing echoing out, "Kagari, flashbangs intact?"

"Yes."

"Good. Janome?"

"Here."

"Don't be Chisato Junior."

"I won't."

"I'm serious. If these guys get-."

Erika's hands trembled like crazy, but she took a breath as she tried to steady them. Back with Hibana, it was easy to spare that one dealer as it was just one stupid man playing big boy with a gun. It was an easy knock-up and tie-up. But this?

These twelve dealers were organized and had a large supply of weapons, the smell of gun oil and blood leeched off them. Laughs echoed out as they told stories of the people they've torched and the destruction their weapons had inflicted. These weren't humans anymore. There wasn't any option that Erika could take that involved them living without her Lycoris comrades or innocent civilians dying.

There wasn't enough time to do non-lethal shots or tie them up. Even if she did, these weren't like the people from earlier.

They were animals.

"I know. I'll kill them. There isn't any other choice anymore. God…. God, I wish there was," Erika snapped, "But…. I've thought it through. I've thought it completely through."

"You're such a whiny shit," Hibana grumbled, "Fuki, I should be the one-"

"Shut it, Kagari. Janome is a better shot than you. Janome, I expect you to act."

"I will."

"Erika."

"I. Will."

There was nothing but silence on the Lycoris' communication lines for a solid minute.

"All right," Fuki gruffly responded, her voice slightly shaky but resolute in her decision-making. She couldn't afford to hesitate as that's what caused last year to go awry, "Kagari and Otome, throw flashbangs on my commands. All of them. The second they go off; Kagari and Otome hide behind the columns. Janome and I will take them all out while they're blinded."

"Got it," all four Lycoris confirmed. Erika heard Fuki take a deep breath, "On my mark…go."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

*BANG!*

The dealers screamed in pain as the light blinded them. But the pain was short-lived as the two shooters acted. Erika quietly dashed out as she took unloaded her gun into five of the men while Fuki took out the other eight. She took a breath as she leaned against the column, trying her best to hold back her tears.

Fuki and Sakura let loose breath as well as they approached the dead bodies, their guns raised. Hibana, however, didn't have the same amount of mercy as she let loose a hail of bullets into the remaining bodies.

"We done?" she asked boredly as she checked her fingernails. Fuki sighed as she holstered her gun as she tapped her earpiece.

"DA Command, this is Squad Leader Harukawa. All hostile elements have been eliminated," Fuki reported to Direct Attack, "Proceed with weapon collection."

"Look, tell the Council to get off my ass!" the voice of Kusonoki snapped, "I am currently in the middle of an operation! I'm aware of the current societal climate and I am working on my part in stabilizing it! Now, back the hell off!"

"Uh…. Commander Kusonoki?"

"Ahem…. apologies Squad Leader…I had…an issue to take care of. We are sending in Cleaners as we speak. Begin post-operation maneuvers. Get out of there."

"Acknowle-," Fuki was cut short as one of the shooters leaped up and wrapped his arm around Erika's neck. The three Lycoris pointed their guns at the man as Erika tried to catch her breath. She managed to get a peek at the man and cringed. It was one of the men that Fuki had shot it. While she managed to get him, the shot had not killed him but heavily injure him.

And make him angry.

"All right brats!" the man managed to gasp out, blood spilling out his stomach, "You are getting me some help and then a way out…. or else this bitch gets it!"

"Nice one, sempai," Hibana snapped as she pointed the gun at the man, her finger ready to pull the trigger. Sakura quickly grabbed it though. Fuki quickly raised her hands with Sakura doing the same.

"Kagari!"

"This is a goddamn repeat of last time! Goddamn it!" Hibana snapped as she wildly pointed her gun. Sakura and Fuki attempted to act but she was too angry to listen to them.

"Put the gun down!" the man screamed as he pointed his pistol at Erika's head. Erika quickly looked around for anything to use. Her gun was on the ground and her hands were being used to make sure the man's bicep didn't knock her out or snap her neck. There had to be something to use!

"KAGARI!"

"GODDAMN IT, YOU STUPID LITTLE SHIT! HOW DO YOU ALWAYS BECOME THE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS!"

"I'LL BLOW HER HEAD OFF IF YOU DON'T DROP THAT SHIT!"

Bite his arm?

No, her teeth were about as sharp as a pillow.

Elbow blow to the stomach?

No, that would just make him angrier and might cause him to shoot her or even worse, her teammates.

Ask nicely.

She had a feeling the bleeding arms dealer might not be so…. receptive to her pleas.

Erika took another look around for something, anything that could help. Her eyes widened as she saw an empty mailing package near her foot. The girl noticed how sharp the edge of the box was. She quickly took a glance at the arms dealer, who was still distracted by the three Lycoris in front of him. Quietly, she hooked her foot under it.

"Put the gun down, Hibana!"

"Shut it, Fuki!"

"Hibana, if you shoot Erika, I'm putting one in your head!"

"Back off, Sakura!"

"Shut up, you stupid bitch!" the gunman yelled, "I'll blow this little shit's head off! And then when I get out of here, I'll find do the same to anyone else who screws with me!"

There wasn't any option left.

She had thought it all through.

There wasn't any scenario where they could all live.

She kept hesitating, wanting to find another way.

But there wasn't.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

With a swift kick, Erika kicked up the box towards the man's eye, the edge of the box jamming into his eye. He screamed out in horror as he reached for his bleeding eye. But he didn't have to worry for long as Erika quickly rolled back and grabbed her gun.

Her finger twitched over the trigger.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Her finger twitched over the trigger.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Her finger twitched over the trigger.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Her finger twitched over the trigger.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Her finger twitched over the trigger.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Her finger pulled the trigger.

A nanosecond later, the man was dead on the ground, smoke curling out of Erika's gun. Blood spilled out of the man's forehead wound. Hibana whistled, "Nice shot, Chisato Junior."

Erika bowed her head at her murder victim. The girl's hands trembled as she holstered the gun into her pack, her eyes starting to tear up, "If there was another way…I would've taken it."

Fuki and Sakura walked next to the girl, who kneeled and closed the man's eyes. Sakura laid a hand on Erika's shoulder and got a handkerchief out, handing it to Erika. Hibana snorted as she leaned against the crate of one of the weapons as she tapped her earpiece, "DA Command, sorry for the cut in communication. We're beginning extraction protocols."

"NOT YET!" a voice called out. The four Lycoris all turned around in horror as they saw one of the shot-down men rise to his knees, two rifles pointed straight at them. Once again…it was one of Fuki's targets that she failed to kill.

"Goddamn it, Fuki!" Hibana called out as she raised her gun in vain, still trying to defend herself even knowing it was useless, "Work on your freaking aim!"

Erika's eyes widened in horror as she tried to raise her gun in response but was too slow.

Was this it?

Is this how everything was going to end?

A red and white blur sped past Erika's eyes.

The sound of gunfire erupted out….

Followed by red smoke…

The man collapsed, the unfired rifles clattering onto the ground.

"And the heroine makes her grand entrance!" the savior joked as she pulled out a wire gun from her hoodie pocket, tying the man up. The young woman then quickly pulled out a bandage and wrapped it around the man's stomach. After finishing providing first aid, she wiped her brow, her blonde hair tied back by a bright red ribbon.

Fuki's eyes widened as her face reddened, "No…."

"That was unnecessary to put yourself into the line of fire like that," Erika turned around quickly, making sure she wasn't hearing things. Takina Inoue scoffed from behind the group, her gun pulled out. Her cold grey eyes rolled with annoyance as she holstered it in the back of her shorts, "I had it covered."

"Yeah, I know but that flight took forever, and I needed to stretch my wittle legs!" The girl playfully joked at Takina with the cold girl simply rolling her eyes with annoyance, "Plus, you would've killed him."

"He's weapons dealing terrorist on the brink of death."

"Still a life, Takina. Still needs to be saved. I called in an ambulance already so we all better dip."

"Do not change the topic. I would rather you keep your own life. You have a new lease on the world, and I do not want you to waste it."

"Pfff, come on. I could've easily dodged whatever he threw at me."

"NO, YOU WOULDN'T" the man managed to spit out, but the girl quickly smacked the back of his head with a knife hand. He quickly went unconscious at the girl's karate moves.

"Just cause I saved your life doesn't mean you get to interrupt. So rude."

Fuki slapped her face, "No…."

Despite the pain of what just happened, Erika managed a small little smile.

Chisato Nishikigi grinned as she finally took notice of Fuki, "Guess who's never gonna let you live this down."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

I ended up posting this early because it was already done and there weren't any more changes really needed to make. As a note, I have the next thirteen chapters already written. I just don't post them yet so I can make edits and stuff. Plus, I'll have a backlog to post if I'm busy. So editorial notes aside...

Guess who's back from the States?

I had a blast writing Chisato. She's such a ray of sunshine.

Also, Kamen Rider Lycoris is also on AO3! So be sure to check it out there as well!

Next Chapter: August 5
