An eight year old Neo was in shock as she sat on the humming train,
'Everything happened so fast' she thought, her fingers tightened around the brim of the hat she'd been holding,
She looked down at it and panicked loosening her grip so as not to crease it, 'Roman' she thought sadly, tears threatened to spill from her eyes, she put on the bowler hat and just stood there waiting for her stop,
It took a while, and every thought she had was shaken away,
When the train finally stopped she got off, and started walking to the hideout, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, 'Just like he taught me,'
"Hey honey," the voice frightened Neo, she was sure she'd lost her two train's ago,
Neo turned, seeing that ditzy purple haired Bat Faunus looking at her,
"Listen I know you saw some weird stuff," the bat girl said raising her hands defensively "But if you could come with me I'll explain-,"
Neo bit back her rage at the Faunus, she wanted to stab her eyes out, to crush her, to jump and strangle the life out of her, but she couldn't, she was too weak,
She raised a hand to the Faunus,
"Ooh, you're friendly aren-cha?" She smiled taking her hand,
Neo grinned cruelly as she forced it into the purse of a nearby lady,
"Help thief!" the lady cried, turning around and slapping the Faunus,
"Owwie," she winced, "That hur-," she looked around, "Oh no where'd that girl go?" she asked, 'She held my hand which means she trusts me,' Toko thought to herself, 'which means she's like my little sister!' she assumed, not realising that Neo hated her guts,
"Alright Faunus show us what you-,"
Toko spread her wings using them to boost her above the crowd, "Little sis, I'm right here!," she called her ears her ears perking up trying to pick up any trace of her new sis, "By these two helpful police officers, so come find m-," she stopped talking as she saw the pink haired girl running down an alleyway,
Toko landed and shook the officers hands, "Thank you both, I found my sister," she said, then she knocked her shoes together and skates came from out of the soles, "Ready or not sis, here I coome!" she cried and shot off like a rocket,
"A-after her!" The cops cried,
Neo grabbed a wooden plank, 'I know you're fast witch, so come get me,' As soon as she heard skates she held out the board and watched as Toko jumped over it,
"Woah that was-," then the bat lady hit a low wall,
Neo saw a badge around the bat's neck and ripped it off, 'I'm not strong enough to get you now,' Neo thought, 'but in a few years I will be,'
She studied the badge as she ran, It was a student I.D. 'Toko Akina,' Neo put the badge around her neck, tucking it down her shirt, 'I'll remember that name, that face, everything about you, and I'll kill you,' she ran down an alleyway and using the manhole tool Roman had given her she slipped into the sewer,
"Little sis!" Toko cried getting to her feet, before she could chase Neo though the cops grabbed her and pinned her to a wall,
"Gotcha, now hands behind your head thief" they stopped as they heard something hit the ground behind them, the officers turned and went white as sheets,
Adam Taurus himself stared at them, one hand on his blade slowly unsheathing it "Drop her," he commanded,
They did, then their guns and cuffs, and then they just raised their arms, and put their backs to the wall,
He turned to Toko, "Are you alright?"
She looked up at him, "Adam," she smiled and hugged him, the officers watched as The blood red butcher, sheathed his sword and patted the girl on the back, "wait where'd my little sis go?" she asked,
"Little sis?" he asked,
Toko nodded, "She's eight, has Pink hair, and two different coloured eyes, and I think she's mute and-"
"She didn't seem, to appreciate you following her," Adam said, he glared at the cops and pointed down the way they came,
They both nodded and ran as fast as they could, Adam resisted the urge to slice them up from behind,
"No, she took my hand Adam, she trusted me,"
"She put your hand in a lady's purse Toko," Adam retorted, he shook his head, "What about the job?" he asked, "Is it done?"
Toko nodded, "Yeppers, Roman's out of commission," she smiled and lowered her head to him,
Adam smiled, he didn't get why she liked this but, if it's how she liked to be praised he had no problem giving it to her,
He put his hand on her head and rubbed her hair gently, making sure to scratch her ears as well, "...good girl... Toko,"
(\/VVV\/)-Later with Neo-(\/VVV\/)
Neo ran through the maze of sewer tunnels, this was Roman's turf and she knew it like the back of her hand, but she'd been careless before and couldn't afford to be now,
Running down the tunnels she used her semblance to change the scenery around her, but only a small area around her, it wouldn't effect much, but if that bat had followed her into the sewer Neo wanted to be sure she wouldn't be able to follow her for long,
The Tunnels Neo ran into changed into brick walls while brick walls were now tunnels with signs that pointed down them, the first was a cruel trick, it had the words 'help me big sis' written on it, as she rounded the corner leading to where the hideout was she frowned not hearing the bat smashing into the wall before the illusion was gone, the second sign promised cookies but actually led to a drop that had crocodile infested waters,
The third sign led to a booby trapped corridor, this time Neo didn't bother with an illusion, she grabbed a piece of her top and took a butterfly knife out of her pocket, she sliced off the piece and made it look like it had gotten caught on a nearby piece of rebar, she then crept down the tunnel she needed before breaking into a full sprint,
'Roman made this place,' she thought, 'The sound echoes down every single tunnel, sound won't help them,'
He was also aware of every tracking trick and placed many diversions, that piece of rebar? strategically placed to ''catch on clothes of people running by'' all attempt to lead any pursuers to their dooms, that was even the point of the sewer hideout, a disgusting but genius idea, the smell of the sewer would stop anyone with a keen nose for scents, the echoing sound of footsteps should've led right to them, but the walls all made sure they carried the sound in every way making that useless too, anyone with great hearing would become disoriented trying to follow any sound,
And then there was the fact that it was still a maze, easy for her to navigate, cause Roman had done nothing but drill her on the exact route to take before they'd gotten to this hideout, but there were so many tunnels that seemed to go places, but didn't, dead ends, booby traps, crocodile pits, death traps, secret passages, the only thing Roman had wanted but couldn't do was a shifting series of rooms only he could navigate, and that was just cause he'd have to hire, and then dispose of a lot of people,
Neo shook her head as she came to three secret doors and two tunnels excluding the one she'd come down from, and ran over to the door she knew she needed, she stood on her tippy toes and felt around for a tiny button, it clicked then opened quickly and silently, allowing her to run down it as it closed,
She knew she'd be in the clear now, but she still ran through the rest of the winding paths, secret doors, corridors with booby traps that could've killed her if she wasn't careful and eventually came to the last hidden door,
Strategically designed to resemble a dead end, Neo took a hair pin out of her hair and looked at the wall, there were several small holes, each of them had a button behind it, all but one of them filled the room with poison gas, the last opened it,
Again she'd been trained to effortlessly navigate the sewer hideout and thus easily opened the door and locked it from the inside,
And now she was at the entrance to the actual hideout,
It was just a ladder, she gazed briefly past it and felt her tears welling up again,
On the wall behind the ladder was a message for her, ''Well done princess, you made it'' the nickname he'd given her now stung, as did the memories of her first time navigating the maze ''alone,''
Though after she climbed the ladder it had been pretty obvious that he'd been behind her the whole time, just trying to make sure nothing happened to her,
She shook her head trying not to relive the now painful memories of the only person that ever cared for her, she climbed the ladder, opened the hatch that led to the hideout, and slipped inside before locking it, after she had the feeling of safety and security Neo now felt, took all of the adrenaline pushing her forward out of her tiny body and thus she fell over, passing out.
(\/VVV\/)-FLASHBACK-(\/VVV\/)
They'd scoped out the place where the deal was supposed to go down, she'd even been given half the job before he had her hide away,
When they showed up there was only three of them, each had their masks on except the one in the middle, she had neck length purple hair, and bat wings and ears, despite her pale skin she seemed to be very bright and vibrant, "Hello Mr Torchwick," she smiled, "what have you brought for us today?"
Roman gave her his 'Disarming smile' as he gestured to a large tarp covering the product, "Only the best for my best customers like your boss," he said showing them a large crate, "Inside here," he said tapping it with his cane, "Is the answer to a little problem I've heard he's been having," he said, "It's a new world out there isn't it?" he asked, "Giant monsters stomping out of the ocean ready to tear down every little part of society they can get there appendages on," He said leaning on his cane, "Makes you wonder, what happens if they find you before they find anyone one else right?"
The bat woman gasped, "Y-you're right," she stated, "W-what will happen to us?" she started biting her nails, "W-we'd be discovered by the time the government sent in their mechs, would we be able to escape?"
"Well," Roman gave her a charming smile, "That my new friends is why your intelligent boss pays me big money," He opened the crate inside was A military grade mech, and more surprisingly it had all the right parts, it looked like it was stolen off the assembly line before it was even painted, on it's back was a giant two handed sword, "This is one of five mechs I've..." He rolled his hand around, "Procured, from some people I know, they even had a bunch of them lying around, they wont miss one measly prototype will they?" He asked, waiting for her to take the bait,
"Prototype?" The bat asked, looking at the machine, "What do you mean?"
"Well," Roman smirked, "You see this is a new type of battle suit, while others are designed to be easy to operate, well as easy as possible with all the needed equipment of course," he chuckled, "This little beauty was designed to be used by... well say a master swordsman," he said, "It's only weapon is that giant blade on it's back, any more and the machine becomes too complicated," he smiled at her, "Well I thought of your boss immediately and took it so I could rest at ease knowing he would have a way to keep you all safe from those giant devils, I even procured a few more models of...varying quality just in case he needed more of you all in the air," He raised his hands, "Now now, no need to thank me" he said instantly, "The money of the sale is enough to keep me going until our next meeting,"
The bat girl moved in closer, "Wow," she gasped looking at the mech, "It's soo cool, but..." she turned to Roman, "The thing is..." she looked really sad at him, "I'm really sorry Mr Torchwick,"
He raised an eye at that, "Sorry?" he asked, "Did you lose the money for the sale?" She shook her head,
"It's just," She took a stick off her hip, "There never was any money," She said flicking out a ribbon wand,
Roman leaned on his cane and started playing with his bowler hat, "...I see," he said before sighing, "Miss please understand that what you're about to do will only get yourselves hurt, and hike up the price for your boss," he said, "Maybe even triple it" he stated,
"Adam, ordered it Mr Torchwick,"

"I see," Roman said, he charged toward her and reached inside his pocket, Toko flipped out her ribbon right behind her like a whip,
Roman pressed a button on a device he'd hid in his pocket, the mech flew into the air and exploded,
The bat girl cried out in pain as the bright explosion hurt her eyes,
"Something wrong dear?" Roman asked as he struck her with the handle of his cane, then he slid past her and pulled her leg out from under her while he moved forward dashing into her back elbow first knocking her over,
As she opened her eyes Toko saw Roman place the cannon end of his cane against her cheek, his finger on the trigger, "Now then, perhaps you'd like to return to your boss? if so would you pass on a message for me?" Neo smiled smugly, she knew that bat would never get the best of Roman, he'd dealt with bigger people who thought they could push him around,
Toko whipped out her arm, "Tell him yourself,"
Roman raised an eye at her, until her ribbon wrapped around his throat and pulled him away from her,
Roman dropped his cane as he tried to force the ribbon off of his neck, But now free from him pinning her down, Toko flew upwards, making the ribbon yank Roman into a wall hard, where the ribbon around his neck broke freeing him from being choked,
He groaned in pain, and pulled himself upwards, Barely seeing the flying kick coming before Toko had kicked him into the wall behind him, then she grabbed his arm and kicked off the wall throwing him behind her,
But Roman was a thief by trade, and reclaiming his weapon as he rolled over it was as difficult as drinking a glass of water to him,
Toko sprang forward her ribbon trailing behind her, she tried striking low with a slide, but Roman jumped over it and swung down with his cane, Toko tried blocking with her wings but the strike broke her guard easily, then roman pulled her head in with the handle of his cane striking her nose with a flying knee,
"Owwie," she whined, then Roman hit the ground and gave a wide swing with his cane that Toko ducked before rolling over with a handstand kicking his face,
Neo watched as the two started continued trading blows, wishing more then ever that she could help, but her semblance could hinder Roman as well so she had to just sit here and hope he could handle her,
And it looked like he'd win, as he slid a flashbang out of his coat, he tried to feint a punch at Toko as he prepared to pull the pin,
But then the two faunus with the bat girl shot Roman with a taser,
As the wires connected to his body Roman convulsed dropping the flashbang and his weapon,
Toko seemed confused but sweep kicked his legs and soared upwards, her ribbon tying up one of his legs pulling him with her, she did a quick loop in the air before she let go of her ribbon wand, sending Roman down into a wall much faster this time,
For the first time since she met Roman, Neo felt fear,
She heard the sound of Roman's body breaking as he hit the pipes on the wall, she watched him cough up blood as Toko Akina levelled what looked like a gun at the gasping for air Roman,
"D-," Roman raised his hand at the bat faunus, "Don't do this," he pleaded,
"Don't worry, Mr Torchwick soon you'll be-," Toko never finished,
'I need to get him out!' Neo thought, she conjured a monster to charge at Toko, but it had the opposite effect she wanted,
Toko Akina turned seeing the monster, and in her shock and fear pulled the trigger,
The monster vanished, as Neo watched the life oozing out of Roman, if she could have she'd have cried as she charged out of the fake wall she'd been hiding in,
She tried grabbing Roman but batwings wrapped around her,
"Honey where'd you come from?" Toko asked, Neo stared up at the faunus she just watched shoot Roman dead, now holding her close with her wings,
Neo enraged by the act chomped down hard on Toko's wing,
As Toko cried in pain Neo knew she had to run, quickly she looked around and found Roman's hat near an alleyway, Roman always told her to get it if anything happened to him, so she dashed over grabbing it and ran for her life, Toko running after her, "Are you okay?" The bat teen cried, "listen sweetie I know you saw something strange but please stop running from me,"

When Neo woke up she held Roman's hat and sobbed, it was the only thing she had left of him now,
She took off the student I.D. of Toko Akina, and glared at the ditzy bat teen,
Toko was too strong for her right now Neo knew that,
But she would kill her,
She took a small usb drive out of Roman's hat, and walked over to his laptop, she put it in and turned on the laptop,
The drive was a wireless connecter to Roman's black box, which contained tons of info on everyone Roman knew,
Neo needed someone strong, ruthless, someone who owed Roman and would be good natured enough to teach her, someone who'd also come against the White Fang in the future,
After who knows how long of searching Neo finally found someone who'd be willing to help her,
Lady Nagent, she owed Roman a few favours and he'd helped her get a few opportunities to ''go legit'', the drive even said that Roman had given her some info for free that she used to make Kingdom Come Academy consider hiring her, mostly shutting down a weapon shipment alone without a single casualty,
Neo learned stuff that could Ruin Nagent's new job as an instructor,
When Neo left the hideout she'd already sent a request from Roman asking Nagent to meet up, to which she responded that there was a Park they could meet up at mid-night,
(\/VVV\/)-The end-(\/VVV\/)
There left in the alleyway was the body of Roman Torchwick, a figure dropped from the skies, it sniffed the body a few times, before it pulled Roman free of the wall and carried him off into the dark cold night,
When Toko brought Adam they'd find his guards knew nothing about the moving body of Roman Torchwick,
