Adventures in Alabasta
Vivi blinked at Robin, "Katorea. Do you mean the city that is up to the west-north of Nanohana?"
Robin nodded her head, "It appears that they changed their location for some reason, but this is to our advantage. This way we can go and warn them about Crocodile's plans."
Vivi beamed, "That's wonderful." The girl felt a huge sense of relief buildup in her chest, "This way I can make sure that no one in my country gets hurt." Everyone shook their head at the girl's denial and lack of reality. It was one thing to be hopeful, but Vivi was beyond that. They all knew too well that people get hurt all the time and no one can stop that.
Nami then said, "So does this mean that we're all going to Katorea now?" the orange-haired girl thought about it for a moment, "This would make our mission relatively easier."
Robin then said, "I think that it's for the best that we split up from here. One group goes back to the ship, and the other goes to Katorea to help Vivi talk to the leader of the rebels."
Zoro then said, "Seems like a plan to me, but who is going where? Unless the other is going to be random." The guy then laid back and began to snore.
Chopper then said, "Well, I can take you to Katorea." Everyone looked at him and he explained, "You see, while Sanji and I were in the market, I couldn't handle the different smells very well, so I took a quick nap in a small carriage only to wake up later with the carriage making its way to Katorea," he then tapped his chin, "It had the smell of powder so I can track it."
Usopp then asked, "How did you return here anyone? How didn't you get lost in the desert?"
Chopper then replied, "Well, there was a nice camel that helped me cross the desert. He guided me on how to return to Nanohana by giving me directions."
Nami then said, "Alright, here's how it's going to happen…" Everyone looked at her, "Robin, Chopper, Vivi, and Zoro will go to Katorea, and Sanji, Usopp, and I will go back to the ship after we find Luffy and make sure that he doesn't cause any problems."
Sanji then jumped up, "Wait! why do Robin and Vivi need to go to Katorea? Can't Mosshead and long nose go there instead and talk to the leader of the rebels?"
Nami kicked him in the face, "Tone down your perversion. Vivi is the person who should talk to them." The orange-haired girl carried on, "She's the only person who has enough evidence to talk down the rebels."
The blond-haired man slumped to the ground, "Can I go with them? I mean Mosshead could cause a scene there and make Vivi's situation even worse."
Although Sanji did have a point, he also could cause a scene if someone dared and do anything that might hurt Vivi or Robin, Sanji will most definitely beat him…
They didn't want that to happen… Sanji going was a ticking time bomb waiting to happen…
"No, as much as he would cause a disaster," Nami said looking at Zoro, "he still wouldn't go into full-out war with the rebels should any one of them accidentally point his gun at Vivi and Robin."
Zoro smirked and stood up, "Well, you heard the woman." He then walked in a direction, "Let's go to this Katorea place." He then was stopped by a couple of phantom hands.
Robin then said, "No, Sanji will go with us. Believe me, it's the better option in the long run."
The green-haired man then said, "What? Why would you want curly brow to go with you?"
Robin explained her decision, "If you went with us, we'd spend most of our time making sure that you don't get lost in the desert." She shook her head, "Sorry, but this is better for everyone."
She then ushered for Chopper to lead the way. The small reindeer nodded its head and walked in front of them with Sanji walking beside the girls with the smuggest expression ever.
Nami then said, "Well, she does have a point about you getting lost in the desert, Zoro." She then yelled to them, "Hey, guys. We'll meet in the western parts of the city port so you can join us on the ship about 3 hours later. Be sure to make it there on time."
Robin looked at Vivi and asked, "How much does it take us to reach Katorea?"
The blue-haired girl thought about it for a moment, "It's Nanohana's sister city. I think we'd be there in about half an hour or at least 45 minutes walking." The blue-haired girl then said, "But man, what I wouldn't do to have a camel to help us traverse the desert."
Robin nodded. Having a camel would help in the long run in a desert country, but alas here they are. Sanji swooned over to them, "Well if you want, I carry on my shoulders Vivi-Chawn and Robin-chawn." Both girls laughed a little at his attitude and decided to mess with him a little bit.
Robin then said, "Sorry, Sanji, but I only allow Luffy to hold me on his shoulders. Plus, he always treats me like a princess. You can't ever reach his level." The man's face fell from shock.
Vivi then added, "And I already have a fiancée. He's my childhood friend and I can't cheat on him. We should have been married, but the whole war thing stopped us dead in our tracks." The man's heart broke into a million pieces.
Sanji slumped to the ground and began to hit it, "Why? Why? Why can't I get any woman to love me? Was do other men have that I don't have? This is so unfair…"
Both girls began to laugh at him a bit as Chopper patted his back, "There, there, Sanji." The man looked up at him, "The sea is full of fish. There's someone out there waiting for you."
On an island hundreds of miles away, a three-eyed girl suddenly sneezed.
The man looked at the small reindeer and asked, "Do you think so?"
Chopper nodded his head, "Of course, I mean if I can join and walk among humans, then there's definitely a girl out there waiting for you."
Sanji then jumped from the ground and said, "Yeah, you're right. If someone like that air-headed moron of a captain we have can have a girlfriend then so can I. I just…" he didn't get to finish this sentence as a hand bloomed on his face and flicked his nose.
He looked at Robin who said, "Never insult Luffy ever again. He's really smart." They continued walking, "Just because he isn't smart the conventional way, doesn't mean that he's dumb."
Vivi nodded, "She's right you know. A lot of people are street-smart and this seems to be Luffy's case, so I wouldn't necessarily call him an airhead. He seems more like a person who likes to do what he wants whenever he wants. A bad thing, but still doesn't mean he's dumb."
Sanji nodded and they 4 continued their walk to Katorea while exchanging small talk.
Back with the others, Nami looked around and a tingle went down her spine. Both Usopp and Zoro felt the same tingle. They all said in unison, "My 'Luffy did something stupid' sense is tingling."
Nami then said, "Whatever it is, I just hope that it isn't something that's extremely dumb."
Zoro then leaned toward a wall and said, "Well, just make sure he doesn't disturb my nap because I really want to catch a couple of minutes of sleep." Nami looked at him and sighed.
Usopp retorted, "Please, you're always sleeping unless you're not training. I find it hard to believe that you're actually tired and sleepy." He then heard snoring coming from Zoro making him yell in shock, "He actually slept. What the hell is this guy?"
Usopp then heard shouts in the distance causing him to peek a little. He then saw the Marines looking around for someone, "Jeez, I wonder what got them this worked up."
Nami shrugged, "It could be anything from pirates to your local everyday thugs."
Usopp then asked, "You don't think it's Luffy, do you?"
The girl thought about it for a moment, before shaking her head. No, Luffy was smarter than this. He knows the importance of the mention that they are on. He wouldn't attract attention to himself. That's what a part of her brain said. The other part told her that the boy doesn't usually follow trouble, but he sometimes blindly launches himself onto it.
Zoro woke up from his sleep, "What the hell is all this noise?" he looked around the corner and saw the Marines chasing someone, "Oh, it's just the Marines chasing some idiot."
He then looked closer and saw Luffy, "Oh, it's just our idiot." Luffy looked at him and waved his arms which caused Zoro to say, "Lose them and get back here."
The rubber boy didn't hear so he shouted in Zoro's direction, "What did you say, Zoro?" the green-haired man along with Nami and Usopp paled when the Marines looked in their direction, "I didn't hear you. They're shouting too loud." He then began to run toward them.
One of the Marines then said, "Look, it's his crew." He raised his rifle, "Quickly, let's go and capture them before they manage to run away from us."
Luffy tried to run toward his crew to get out of there with them, but Smoker then said, "Give up, Strawhat." The man then prepared a smoke attack, "Don't you remember how I beat you last time? Don't make this harder on yourself."
The man launched his attack, but it collided with something. Luffy looked behind him only to see his older brother Ace standing there, "You can keep trying to attack, Smoker." Ace smirked, "But even you know that my element is the superior one."
Smoker growled under his breath, "Truly, the apple can't fall far away from the tree."
Ace then looked at Luffy and said, "Truly, Luffy. You can never change. You're always looking after trouble. And trouble is always looking for you. It's like a match made in heaven."
The boy looked at his older brother, "Ace. It's you. I missed you so much." The boy jumped to hug him, but Ace kicked him in the face making Luffy shout, "You bastard, why did you kick me in the face? That hurts, you idiot."
Ace looked at Luffy, "You're still the same crybaby that I remember from 3 years ago." Luffy frowned a bit, but Ace carried on, "Look, Luffy. We can catch on as much as you want, but not right now. First, go to your ship, and then I'll talk to you and Robin."
The boy nodded and looked at his crew. He then noticed some people missing, "Where the hell are the others? Where are Vivi, Sanji, Chopper, and Robin? Did they get caught or something?"
Nami then grabbed him and began running with the noy hitting the ground as she dragged him around, "They went to the next town city. They should be back in about 2 hours. Don't worry about them." The girl then let him go.
The boy then stood up and followed the rest of the crew and said, "Where are we going to pick them up? Does that city have a harbor or something?"
Nami facepalmed, "We'll pick them up in the western part of the port. Be quiet now, so the Marines won't be able to catch up to us." The boy nodded and continued to run toward the ship.
Back on Smoker's ship, Mr.11 eleven was still tied up to the post of the Marines' ship. He tried to wiggle his way out of his constraint, but nothing seemed to work. He was trapped there for eternity or until they take him to Impel Down. Honestly, he preferred to be tied here.
He then heard some ruckus happening. He looked up to see a couple of people he recognized from Barquoes Work and said, "Good, you people are finally here. Come here and untie from this post."
The men looked at him and began to laugh. The man was agitated and asked, "What the hell are you clowns laughing about? Come here and untie or else I swear that…"
He then saw a gun pointed at his face causing him to stutter, "Come on, guys. Can't we find a logical way to solve our issues?"
One of the men then said, "There's no way in hell I'm going to miss up a chance at becoming a numbered agent. Goodbye, Mr.11." the man then fired his gun.
Back with Robin and the others, they finally managed to make it to Katorea after some time of walking in the scorching desert. Chopper had it rough since his fur made him more prone to sweating. The poor thing had to be carried by phantom legs made by Robin to help him move.
Vivi looked at the sign at the entrance and it read 'Katorea'. The girl sighed in relief, "Thank, heavens. We finally made it to the city. I think I'm about to pass out from happiness."
Sanji then walked forward and said, "If that's the case, I'd be more than happy to grab you, Vivi-chan." The girl chuckled at his behavior but shook her head thanking him for his chivalry.
Vivi then looked at the town and slammed her fist into her hand. She then said, "Alright. Listen, people, we made it this far. All we have to do right now is go talk to the leader of the rebels and stop this madness and prevent Crocodile from ruining my country."
Robin smiled, "I hope that you achieve your goal, Vivi." She looked at the town and made an eye to see everything. She frowned since the town was loaded to the brim with weapons. She never truly liked guns or weapons, especially after her encounter with CP9 and Sapdine back in Ohara.
The group then walked forward. People began to notice them and whispers began to rise from one place to the other. Sanji was beginning to get on edge. He was afraid the girls' lives were in danger, and he would be condemned to hell if he allowed them to be harmed.
The group contained deeper in, but suddenly a man stood in front of them and pointed a gun at their faces. He then yelled, "Who are you? And what are you people doing here?"
A couple more people joined them and pointed their guns at them making the situation extremely tense. Sanji stepped forward, "Didn't your mother tell you not to point a gun at a girl?"
The man growled and shot a warning bullet between Robin's legs, "Don't you dare play smart with me. I asked you a question; who are you?"
Robin stepped forward trying to calm the situation down, "Please calm down. We mean you no harm, but…" she pointed at Vivi, "…our friend here has some very important information that may change the tides of the war in this country and reveal new truths. She wants a meeting with your leader if you can manage to take us there."
The man then scoffed, "Whatever she has, she can tell us and we will tell the leader himself." The men weren't dumb. They knew that they were at a civil war. This could be a trick to kill the leader.
Vivi then stepped forward and said, "Please, just listen to me." She raised her arms to show them that she means no harm, "I need to meet him in the face because there are people who might abuse this information for their own gain and the one that leads them from the shadows."
The man frowned, "Are you saying that some of us might betray our leader?"
Vivi nodded her head, "Yes, there is a very dangerous individual running everything from the shadows. Even as we speak, he's planning to plunder this country into chaos."
The man didn't budge and said, "I don't buy it." He then looked at the others, "And who are you?"
Robin then said, "We are pirates. We were traveling to the next island when this young lady asked us to take her here." The guns were now loaded.
"Pirates? Do you think that we're dumb?" the men readied themselves to fire, but a voice stopped them. It seemed that he was a commander, "Stop whatever you're doing."
The man looked at his men and asked, "What do you think that you're doing? Pointing guns at people." The man was huge with a burly mustache. He was muscled and was 2.25 meters high.
The foot soldiers looked at him and said, "Sir, they said they wanted to meet with our leader, but these people are pirates. They could be planning to kill him on the order from the king…"
The man wanted to continue his rant, but his weapon was slapped from his hand. Everyone's weapons were slapped from their hands. He looked and saw Robin crossing her arms. The black-haired girl replied, "Believe me, with my ability I kill everyone right here. I don't need to go to your leader to kill him. I can just kill my way to him."
The commanding officer looked at her and said, "Fine, I'll take you there, but no funny movement, or else you'll all be in serious trouble."
He then began to lead them to the leader of the rebels with Vivi silently thanking Robin for her help. The girl smiled as she held Chopper with two phantom hands fanning him.
Once they were there, the man said, "Wait here for a bit. I'll tell you when you can come in."
The man then entered a house with the group waiting outside. Robin looked at Vivi, "Are you excited to help put an end to this civil war?" the black-haired girl was happy for her friend. She truly hoped Vivi reach her goal of saving Alabasta. It reminded her of her home Ohara when she was younger and everyone was about to be killed.
Vivi replied, "It's nerve-wracking. I hope that the leader believes me or else everything will be in vain." Robin nodded her head. There is a possibility that the leader won't believe Vivi since she was the daughter of the man that he was fighting.
Sanji then said, "With all the evidence that you have. He has to be completely blind not to believe you." Vivi smiled at him, but the problem wasn't telling them the truth, but them believing her since Crocodile tricked many people into thinking he was a hero. It would be hard to just suddenly make him look like a villain.
Vivi only nodded her head in appreciation.
The door of the house opened and the man told them, "You can all enter. Just be careful or else."
The group entered the house and they were finally face-to-face with the leader of the rebels. The leader looked at them and his eyes finally landed on Vivi.
The man's eyes widened and he exclaimed, "VIVI? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?"
The girl looked closer at the man and was shocked herself, "Kozha! You're the leader of the rebels."
Vivi looked at her childhood friend in confusion and so did the man. It seemed like an eternity as the two stared at each other in confusion. None of them understood what the other was doing here. It seemed seral.
Sanji leaned to Robin's side and said, "So what is going on here? Is there some link that I don't know? Because from the looks of it, they seem to know each other."
Robin shrugged, "It appears so. I just hope their acquaintance is a positive one, not a negative one." Sanji nodded in agreement. If they had a previous negative interaction, it would make all of their hard effort to save Vivi's country go down the drain.
The man now known as Kozha, "Vivi, what are you doing here?" he then looked at the pirates behind her. He grabbed the girl and put her behind him, "Were they the reason that you disappeared for 3 years?" Kozha held a sword in front of the 3 pirates' faces.
Vivi quickly tried to calm down the situation, "No, they weren't the reason I disappeared." The girl gently took the sword from his hand kicking it away before adding, "If anything, these pirates helped me come back to my country safe and sound after someone put my life in danger."
The man looked at her and sighed, "Fine…" he then hugged her, "You made me worried. Even though you're my enemy's daughter, you're always a part of my group."
The girl smiled at his kind words, but she then registered his words and said, "Kozha, my dad isn't your enemy. There's a much greater evil behind the scenes that have been playing you and my dad like a bunch of puppets in a wooden theater."
The man sighed softly. He couldn't blame Vivi for defending her father. He was her father at the end of the day, but for the sake of this country's future, he had to get her on their side. If he managed to do that, maybe she'll take the rule and help stabilize the country.
Kozha opened his mouth to speak, but Vivi beat him to it, "It the last three years I went undercover with Igaram in a secret organization that was working to destroy our country…"
Kozha's eyes bulged out at her words, "Are you insane? Did you lose your marbles? You could have died in your little adventure. Did the hits that Pell hit you with for your outrageous stunts finally managed to cause you to go crazy?"
The girl puffed her cheeks, "Well, you aren't running a charity last time I checked." She then opened her arms and pointed toward everything in this room, "You're the leader of the rebels. Your life is in much more danger than mine is." she then poked his chest, "So what's with the hypocrisy?"
The two continued to argue back and forth with each other.
Sanji raised an eyebrow, "Are those two an old married couple or something?"
Chopper replied, "I'm confused."
Robin coughed into her hand, "We're kinda getting off the topic here."
Vivi then recomposed herself, "Well, back to business. During those three years, I managed to gather enough evidence to clear my father's name and find out who's the real mastermind behind everything." The man looked at her skeptically but nodded for her to continue.
Vivi carried on, "I found out about this organization by chance but infiltrated its ranks." The man looked at her, "And after three years of hard work, I finally managed to find the boss and the person behind everything that befell our beautiful country."
Kozha wanted to say that she was lying, but he knew that Vivi's disappearance three years and her sudden arrival here with pirates of all people meant that she was telling the truth.
Kozha sat down, "And who's the scumbag that played us like violins like this time?"
Vivi bit her lip, "You won't believe me at first, but I'm telling the truth." She took a deep breath and said, "It's Sir Crocodile of 7 warlords of the sea. I've seen him with my eyes ushering his men to transport that cursed sand which caused our country to go dry."
Kohza was shocked, "The country's hero…" he couldn't believe it, but at some level deep down it made sense. The king suddenly turned against his people. The pirate comes and saves the day from the mad king who wanted nothing, but to starve his people to death.
Vivi replied, "He's no hero. He's been working behind the scene to destroy Alabasta." The girl begged him, "Look, I know that there's no reason for you to believe me, but trust me when I say that I'm saying nothing, but the truth."
Kozha then said, "Look, I believe you, Vivi." He rubbed his forehead, "But we need proof to convince the others of Crocodile's betrayal of the country and his schemes."
The girl pulled out a folder and said, "This is everything that I managed to collect."
Kozha nodded his head. He then turned to the pirates and said, "Thank you for helping her. I'm in your debt. I just hope that I can salvage the situation before something worse even happens."
Robin nodded her head, "It's my pleasure to help you, but I think that the first thing you need to do is go and talk to the king to reach some kind of agreement to end the civil war before turning your attention on Crocodile."
The man nodded and Robin then said, "Well, I suppose it's time for us to leave back to the ship."
They walked outside only for Kozha to yell, "Wait a moment." He ran for a bit before coming back with a camel, "This camel will help you navigate the desert, though be warned…" Everyone saw the camel giving both Vivi and Robin a goofy smile, "…it's a little bit perverted."
Robin couldn't help, but laugh at this sudden development. She thanked Kozha for his kindness and they began their trip back to Nanohana hoping to be there in time.
Kozha sat alone shaking his head. He was a fool. He remembered his father's words when he began the resistance. How he told him to trust the king of the country, so what did he do? Fall like an idiot into Crocodile's hands. He looked at the evidence and scoffed, "Hero of the country, my ass."
In another part of Katorea, the man who led Vivi and her group to Kozha was dialing a number on a Den-Den mushi. He waited for the other end to pick up.
A few seconds later, a rough voice came through, "What do you want and why are calling me in the middle of the day? didn't I tell you to only call me in the middle of the night?"
The man shivered a little bit, "I know sir, but I have very important news that you need to hear."
Crocodile hummed on the other side of the line, "Fine, tell me what do you have." He then added, "But if it isn't worth my time, there's no need for me to tell you what's going to happen, right?"
The man stuttered, "Y-Yes, sir." He then calmed himself, "Sir, the leader of the rebels knows everything about you." The man heard a crack from the other end.
Crocodile then asked, "And do tell who dared to betray me and tell him everything?"
The man replied, "No one betrayed you, Mr.0." he stopped for a moment, but added, "It was the princess. She came back and talked with the leader of the rebels. She managed to convince him of everything. She was also accompanied by a group of pirates."
Crocodile frowned. Mr.3 has told him that the group of pirates were eliminated and he had captured Nico Robin like he was ordered to. This caused a new set of complications that he needed to attend to.
Crocodile then asked, "Is there anything else that you need to tell me, so I can stay updated?"
The man then said, "Yes sir, I heard that Kozha is planning to go meet with the king to end the civil war. I don't know when, but I think that it's in the next two days."
Crocodile hummed a little, "Thanks for the warning. You did a good job." He then said, "Now, go away and act natural. We don't anyone to suspect anything, understand?"
The man replied, "Yes, sir. As you wish." Crocodile promptly hung up the phone leaving the man alone in the desert. He then began to walk back to the rebel's base.
Back in Nanohana, Smoker sat in the place where the strawhats were previously. He was thinking about the conservation that he managed to learn from some of his men. They heard the strawhats talking about helping someone named Vivi, but the only Vivi he can think of is the princess of this country. He also heard from some reports that a girl with blue hair was spotted following the strawhats. So, this poses the question; what is a princess who went missing 3 years ago doing with a new bunch of newbie pirates? Did they kidnap her for ransom? Did she abandon her throne for a life of piracy with them? So many questions with little to no answers at all.
Tashigi came up to him, "Is there something on your mind, Smoker?"
The man replied, "I'm trying to think of a reason why strawhat would be here."
Tashigi asked, "Should there be a reason?"
The man nodded his head, "Yes, I think there is a reason for his presence here of all places."
The girl looked at him in confusion, "What do you mean, Smoker? Don't pirates usually come here to have supplies and then set off to the ocean to sail?"
The man nodded, "That's usually the case, but there have been reports of a blue-haired girl."
The girl tilted her head in confusion, "What does that mean? I mean it could be a new crewmember. That's nothing to worry about." She then noticed the man shake his head.
He replied, "No, this girl is important. She's the princess of this country. Remember the girl that one day disappeared from the face of existence 3 years ago." Tashigi nodded remembering the news about Princess Vivi, "well, that girl was the same person that the reports say she was traveling with strawhat Luffy."
Tashigi asked, "Do you think that she's the reason why strawhat came here to Alabasta?"
The man nodded, "I think that she's the reason why he came here." She looked toward the sea, "The other reason I think he came here is due to Crocodile messing with this country."
The girl asked, "But isn't he a warlord of the sea? Isn't he on our side?"
Smoker scoffed, "Remember something… that a pirate is a pirate no matter what."
Somewhere in the sea along the western shore of the port of Nanohana, Luffy was chatting with his crew. Everyone looked at him with a weird look.
Zoro was the first person to ask the boy, "That person is your older brother? Like your older brother?" he couldn't bring himself to imagine another Luffy. One was already annoying enough, but two were a nightmare.
Luffy laughed, "Yeah, he is so strong, and he used to beat me every time." The boy then flexed his muscles, "but now, I'm going to kick his ass, since I'm stronger than him right now."
The boy was suddenly kicked in the back of the head by someone who said, "Whom are you going to beat, Luffy?" the rubber was sent to the ground as Ace sat on the railing of the ship and looked at everyone.
The boy looked at Luffy and said, "Hey Luffy, where's Robin? I don't see her here."
The boy lifted his head from the ground groaning in pain, "she should arrive any minute now."
The crew was sitting on the ship before Ace's arrival waiting for Robin's appearance. It didn't take more than 5 minutes to see Robin come into their view waving her hand at them.
Luffy then decided to bring her and the others over, so he stretched his arms and grabbed the girl with the others, and yanked them onto the ship. Vivi, Sanji, Chopper, and the camel were all crying in fear as they soured through the sky. Robin on the other hand was having the greatest time of her life.
Once they arrived at the ship, Chopper went flying into the kitchen, Sanji was stuck inside the mast of the ship, Vivi was caught by Ace at the last moment, the camel was clinging to the railing of the ship, and Robin was being held by Luffy princess style.
Luffy smiled at Robin letting her down, "So how did it go down? Did you manage to convince him to stop this war thing?" Robin nodded and explained briefly to him what happened.
Luffy smiled, "That's a…" he was then hit over the head by Sanji, Vivi, Karo, Chopper, Nami, and Ace who all yelled at him, "You idiot, not all people are made from rubber like you."
The boy quickly apologized to them to avoid further pain. He then looked at Ace and said, "So Ace, do you have anything to tell us? How's your crew? Did you become pirate king yet or did you decide to join my crew and serve me?" the rubber boy laughed happily.
Ace laughed a little before smacking Luffy's head, "In your dreams, rubber boy." He then looked at both Luffy and Robin, "Hey, did you both become a couple or not?"
Robin and Luffy nodded making Ace smile, "Well, that's wonderful. I always knew that you have it in you." He then paused and began to think about something very hard.
Robin then asked him, "Ace, what are thinking about? It seems very important."
The man then said, "Well, I'm thinking if I should give Luffy the shovel talk." Both looked confused along with the crew who decided to give them some time to catch up, "I mean usually a brother would give his sister's boyfriend the shovel talk to make sure the boy doesn't break her heart, but here, your boyfriend is also my brother, so I'm at an impasse…"
Robin began to giggle softly with Luffy scratching his head in confusion.
The crew was shocked at the revelation. Luffy was Ace's younger brother. And Ace said that Robin was also his sister. Does that mean that Luffy and Robin are also siblings?
Sanji then coughed, "Ace, was it?"
The man looked at him and smiled, "Yeah, I never introduced myself sorry. My name is Portugas D. Ace. And thank you for taking care of my brother and sister. I know they can be a handful. Believe me, I've been there." The man then bowed a little to them.
The crew was beginning to doubt that the boy was Luffy's brother, but they pushed on. Sanji then asked, "Nice to meet you, but I have to ask. Are Luffy and Robin in some sort of incestuous relationship?"
Ace looked at him for a moment before bursting into laughter when he saw Robin's red face.
It took a couple of moments before he calmed down, "No, they aren't because they are not siblings, to begin with." Everyone looked in confusion, "Robin and I are brother and sister by a sake ritual and so are Luffy and myself. Those two never took it so they aren't related."
Everyone nodded having the misunderstanding cleared.
Luffy then turned to Ace having no clue what happened, "So Ace, what do you have to tell me?"
The black-haired man then asked, "Tell me, have you encountered someone by the name of Blackbeard?"
The boy shook his head, so Ace said, "Never mind that, forget that I spoke about anything." He then added, "While I'm here, I want to make you an offer."
Luffy tilted his head, "I want you to join my crew and the crew of the future pirate king. I want you to join Whitebeard's crew. Of course, the invitation is extended to your little friends here." The boy then turned around and showed them his symbol. On his back, there was a symbol of a skull with a huge mustache on it with a cross in the background, "This is my symbol that I wear it with pride."
Luffy then shook his head, "Sorry, Ace. I'm going to become the king of pirates. I don't work for anyone. Why can I be the freest man alive when I work for someone?"
Ace began to laugh at the answer he expected from his brother when Nami asked him, "You said that your name was Ace as in "Fire Fist: Ace", the second commander of the Whitebeard pirates."
The man nodded with Usopp saying, "Man, you have one hell of a family, Luffy."
Ace then spent a couple of hours chatting with the group, but he then decided to leave. He looked at Luffy and then took out a piece of paper ripping a piece from it. He threw that part to Luffy and said, "Whenever you need me, just use this."
Luffy looked at the paper and asked, "What is this, Ace?"
Robin answered him, "That's a vivire card. It's used to guide you to the owner's position and check one's health. If he's in good health, it will remain the same size. If he's in danger, it will slowly burn away." The boy nodded his head.
Ace then left the boat and noticed a couple of ships tailing Luffy's ship. He looked at his brother from his small personal boat and asked, "Do you want to see your brother's fruit in action?"
Luffy jumped, "You ate a devil fruit. Which one is it?"
Ace smiled as he sailed toward the ships and destroyed them in a blast of fire.
Luffy smiled, "Ace is so strong, but I'm still going to beat him." His crew beside him doubted his statement, but they all then went back to doing their own stuff.
They had a long week ahead of them…
