3bodyjaa: Lot of people would share the same opinion.
bigvic150: Yep.
Disclaimer: I do not own Transformers Prime. I only own the OC George Edwards/Bladewolf.
A couple of Jours have passed since we obtained the Energon Harvester after I deceived the Decepticons into thinking they had the real one, when in reality they had gotten a fake that Ratchet created. Optimus praised me on my thinking, but told me to let the team know of these plans beforehand although he understood the reason it was just kept between Ratchet and I.
Nothing much has happened since then, sometimes the Decepticons were quiet, other times we came upon them during Energon patrols and during their mining activities which resulted in firefights.
Right now, I was going down to the SAFE for some weapons training just to pass the time since nothing much was going on. The children were at school, and Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Optimus were out on patrol in various places around the world. As for ratchet, he was where he always is. And Arcee... not sure to be honest.
I ignored the flutter in my Spark at the thought of the two-wheeler.
Once the elevator stopped at the SAFE, I walked over towards the weapons range and saw I wasn't the only one down here.
Arcee was looking down at a massive amount of various weapons she had laid out on the ground in front of her. There were a number of Neutron Assault Rilfes, Scrapmakers, EMP Shotguns, Photon Burst Rifles and a few others I didn't know the names of.
"What are you doing?" I asked, as I went over to join the femme to look at the various weaponry.
Arcee looked at me and spoke as I approached, "Testing our weapons. Always make sure they're in good condition and won't present a problem later on."
My interest was piqued, "Testing the weapons you say?" I'll admit it, I loved shooting guns.
Arcee sighed and said, "Yes, but most of these have been in storage for a while and got dusty. It took me this long just to clean them, and I have no idea how many will work."
I looked at the different guns on the ground before turning back to the femme I had feelings for, "Let me help," I said simply.
Arcee looked at me. "There's over a hundred separate guns that need to be tested, do you know how long that's going to take?" She asked with a raised optic ridge.
I gave him a shrug, "I came down here to get some target practice anyway. Why not help you out while getting that target practice?"
Arcee thought about it before she nodded, "Alright, helps to have a second pair of servos. Pick out a weapon and I'll get the ammo." She said, and walked over to some storage crates on the far side of the range. "With any luck, we'll be finished by the time I need to go pick Jack up from school."
I looked back at the array of weapons on the floor a moment before reaching down and picking up a Neutron Assault Rifle, the same weapon as the one from the War for Cybertron video game.
While I walked toward the range, I studied the weapon in my servos. It was similar to a human assault rifle in terms of how it functioned. It had an adjustable stock like I'd seen on military issued M4's, and it couldn't be attached or installed into a servo so you had to hold it like a human would hold an assault rifle.
Arcee arrived at the range at the same time as I did. She had been carrying two storage containers in her servos before setting them down.
"Neutron AR huh? It's a start." Arcee said, and opened up the containers she brought over. Both of the containers were filled with energy cells that were used for ammunition in weapons that couldn't be linked to our systems.
Arcee tossed me an energy cell, and I inserted the cell into the bottom of the Neutron AR near the stock as if I was loading a strange human shotgun. The rifle hummed to life after I loaded the energy cell into it.
I adjusted the stock on the rifle to a setting suited for my size before aiming at one of the presents Wheeljack left us before leaving - a target drone. Target drones were designed for testing weapons. Anything from a Energon Battle Pistol, to an Ion Displacer wouldn't do much damage to it and what damage was caused was easily repaired.
I pulled the Neutron AR's trigger. Instantly it was firing at what I guessed was twice the rate of a Plasma Chaingun, but it lacked the same accuracy or stopping power. Each little bullet of energy the Neutron AR was shooting wasn't doing much damage to the target drone. After two mico-klicks, the rifle spent the rest the energy in the cell, and I gave the depleted energy cell and empty rifle to Arcee.
Arcee set the energy cell and rifle down on the ground next to her. "The Neutron AR may be old, but it's reliable." She said, then he gestured over at the other weapons. "Pick out another one, we have a lot more to test." She gave a light sigh after she said this, her gaze turning distant.
"You alright?" I asked her with concern.
"Yeah, just... remembering." Arcee said, her optics glancing down. "Ironhide used to do this all the time."
"ironhide?" My optics brightened in recognition at the word. And of course, who doesn't know about Ironhide? "The Weapons Specalist and Autobot veteran."
"Course you'd know about him." Arcee chuckled and fondly shook her helm. "He always loves checking and testing weapons back on Cybertron and would scold anyone for messing with them the wrong way. One time, Warpath nearly blew a hole in the wall with a Thermal Rocket Launcher until Ironhide came to scold him."
"Ironhide takes his job seriously, I can respect that." I said as I checked a Photon Burst Rifle, which had the same design as the one from Fall of Cybertron. "My brothers and I loved this type of thing as well."
Arcee looked at me with surprise. "You have brothers?"
"And sisters." I nodded. "Two older brothers, and older sister and a younger sister. My father, my human father I should say, was in the Army. Special Forces. He'd always take my brothers and I to a shooting range, teach us about every type of gun in the world, how to handle certain ones. He taught us how to shoot and we'd make a competition out of it."
"You miss them." Arcee said softly with a knowing look.
I nodded. "Though I am thankful for Solus saving my life after I died and then bringing me here... I miss my family. My friends. My Earth."
"i know that feeling well." Arcee said with a sigh. "Every day I miss Cybertron. I miss all the friends I've lost in this Primus-forsaken war. Like you miss your siblings, I miss my sisters as well."
I glanced at her in surprise. Oh yeah, Arcee has sisters. Elita-One and Chromia. Well, in some continuities they aren't sisters, but in most they are. "What were they like?" I asked curiously while testng the next weapon after Arcee handed me the ammo for it.
"Elita is the oldest, Chromia is younger than her by three vorns, and I'm the youngest by ten vorns. Our creators offlined when I was still a youngling, so they basically raised me. When the war started Elita tried to keep me out of it, even though she and Chromia had already joined the Autobots she didn't want me involved in the fighting. It was when the Decepticons started attacking unarmed bots that she finally let me join up, Chromia was the one who taught me how to fight. She's slightly obsessed with big guns. Even before she meet her sparkmate Ironhide." Arcee said with a chuckle.
I laughed lightly. "Of course Ironhide would be attracted to one that loves guns just as much as he is. And he's basically your brother-in-law."
"In human views, basically yeah." Arcee nodded before she laughed. "Primus, you should have seen Elita's reaction. I've never seen her optics that size since... well, since Chromia and I flat out told Elita to make a move on Optimus."
I jerked in surprise and looked at her. "Optimus and Elita are sparkmates?"
"Yeah, after a lot of prodding from us." Arcee nodded with a smile. "Primus, I don't know who was the most stubborn, ironhide when it came to Chromia or Elita when it came to Optimus."
"How so?" I asked curiously.
"Well, according to Bulkhead, it took over half the entire Wrecker unit finally managed to convince Ironhide to ask her out." Arcee said with a smirk as she tossed me another ammo kit for another gun.
I whistled. "Stubborn indeed."
"When he's under fire Ironhide is the calmest mech you'll ever meet, but when it comes to femmes he had been the most stubborn mech you'll ever meet." Arcee said with a smile on her faceplate.
I picked up a smaller version of a Scatter-Blaster from the floor and took the energy cell Arcee offered me, "So how'd you convince him?" I asked.
"The Wreckers held an intervention. Basically, they locked ironhide in a room and each told fake sob stories about how he was being so stubborn that he was affecting all of them." Arcee grinned, shaking her helm while I chuckled. "Bulkhead said they kept him in the conference room so long that we got Ironhide to sign a contract saying he would ask Chromia out!"
That part made laugh and miss my target.
"Wow..." I said, shaking my helm again. "Dare I ask about how Elita and Optimus ended up together?"
"Now that's a story." Arcee grinned. "But, I'll never forget the exhaustion and the 'finally!' Chromia and I let out when Elita told us the good news. Primus, every Autobot knew of what was happening between Elita and Optimus. They tried to hide it, but they weren't that good, not even Optimus. Ratchet and Ironhide knew him well enough. Once my sisters got with their sparkmates, they.. inquired about me."
"Oh?" I raised an optic ridge, trying to ignore that sudden uncomfortable feeling that came at the thought of Arcee already with someone.
She shook her helm. "I told them I wasn't interested in anyone, was focused on the war but... I did think of someone as a possible sparkmate?"
I placed the current weapon I held down and picked up another. "And that was?" I asked, trying to keep the jealousy out of my voice. I had no right to be jealous or uncomfortable for Arcee wanting to find someone to love and be happy with durying the war.
'Even if that's not with you?' A voice whispered in my helm but I ignored it.
"Tailgate." Arcee said softy and I stiffened. I didn't need to inquire about that any further, as I knew what happened to Tailgate. "We had just started courting when..."
"You don't have to tell me." I said softly, putting a servo on her shoulder. "I... know what happened to him. Foreknowledge after all. I am sorry."
Arcee just sent me a pained, weak smile. she shook her helm then got back on track. "Alright, let's try and finish this up before Jack finishes school. Maybe we can get a couple of rounds in the ring before I need to pick him up."
"Oh Primus..." I groaned, as Arcee was a force to be reckoned with when it comes to sparring with her.
So, Arcee and I finished testing the weapons and it was just in time for Arcee to go pick Jack up from school. She had let out a small groan but told me she'll get me in the ring when she comes back. I just accepted what was coming and decided to take it like a Mech. Arcee can be a fierce sparring partner, but she does it to teach you.
Anyway, I came out of SAFE, having decided to spar with Cliffjumper and Bulkhead, the latter who had come down with Miko after having just picked her up from school. The spar ended with me taking Cliffjumper and Bulkhead down. I haved faced all of the Autobots at the base in sparring and beaten them... though with Optimus I barely won considering he was more skilled than me.
Same with the others, but Optimus was on a whole different level.
Anyway, right now I was heading to the washracks to... well, give myself a wash. Why else would I go there?
The door to the washracks opened for me as I stepped toward it, the sight that greeted me made my optics double in size while they sizzled and sparked... Arcee in her protoform.
Only a micro-klick passed before I backtracked out of the washracks and nearly slammed my backplates against the wall outside the doorway, but it was enough time for my perspective CPU to see everything that wasn't obscured by steam.
"Man, that sight is really going to help me try to ignore my feelings for Arcee." I said to myself sarcastically.
Arcee had been facing away from me when the door opened, and she was beginning to turn around when I made my hasty retreat. So I actually didn't see most of the um... important bits, but that didn't make this situation any less awkward.
I could practically feel Arcee glaring at me through the wall as my cooling fans kicked into overdrive. "You should really lock the door when you use the washracks." I spoke in an embarrassed voice that was just loud enough for Arcee to hear. 'Especially you.' I added to myself silently.
There was a very long and awkward silence. Well, awkward on my end. Arcee was probably considering several different ways of sending me into stasis lock. The silence continued long enough for my cooling fans to deactivate before one of us spoke.
"How much did you see?" Arcee said calmly, but with a hidden tone of fury behind her voice.
I thought for a long time about my answer. Should I answer truthfully? Should I lie so she doesn't offline me? Should I just innocently reply 'See what?' and hope for the best? No, that would be a bad idea. Was there a way out of this? Did she really want to know? Or was this trick question? Like no matter what I said I was still going to be in the med-bay with life threatening injuries for mega-cycles.
I took so long in replying, that Arcee repeated her question. "What... Did you... See?" Arcee's tone was still calm, but the way she said that promised pain and suffering if I didn't answer soon.
"Well... Um... I saw... Stuff." my response was slow, sheepish and awkward, but considering the situation, I couldn't help it.
"Stuff?" Arcee asked in her eerily calm tone.
I paused, deciding whether I should back up my own answer. "Yeah... Stuff," I finally said.
Another pause, this time from Arcee. "Well what kind of... Stuff?" she asked after the short silence.
'Enough to keep me up for the next mega-cycle.' I thought before I spoke. "Well ah..." My cooling fans reactivated with a vengeance as I had to recall what I had seen not too long ago. "I saw that... Part below your backplates." I said awkwardly.
Arcee paused briefly again. "Okay, how 'bout anything in the... Frontal region?" she asked, with a tiny trace of her own awkwardness.
Arcee's words made my cooling fans start running at a rate that might make them overheat. Oh the irony. "I had already retreated to where I currently stand before you turned around," I said truthfully. "If I hadn't, I would have glitched and be on the washrack floor right now," I added to myself silently.
"Are we in agreement that we should never speak of this moment again?" Arcee asked. I didn't need to see her to know that she had her optics narrowed dangerously as she spoke.
"Yes, yes we are." I said, and nodded my helm in agreement even though she couldn't see me.
"Good, now this is what you are going to do. You are going to step far enough away from the doorway so that the door automatically closes. I will then lock the door from in here, and you will go somewhere else until I have left the washracks, and then we will both forget this ever happened, got it?" Arcee instructed in the deathly calm tone she had used since we started our conversation.
"Got it," was my quick response as I went to walk away quickly.
"Oh... and be in the SAFE fifteen klicks from now, You and I have a spar to go through." Arcee's words caused me to freeze in my tracks. Oh great, now I know she was going to kick my aft. An angry Arcee in sparring was a deadly Arcee. And sparring was her perfect chance to exact female fury on me for nearly seeing her basically naked.
"Yes ma'am." I nodded and quickly walked away the way I had come, but instead of going back to the ops center, I made a beeline for my quarters to prepare for my death.
Along my quick pace, I passed Cliffjumper and Bulkhead (Who had Miko on his shoulder) who were exiting the SAFE. Cliffjumper smiled at me. "Hey George, what's- woah, dude, you in a hurry?"
"Can't talk!" I said hastily as I quickly ran for my quarters, confusing the two Autobots and Miko as they exchanged confused looks.
I was so screwed.
So guess what? Arcee did let out her anger on me for what happened. when I had gone down to the SAFE, she had been waiting with a deadly look on her faceplate and I knew I was not going to be in good condition afterwards. It didn't help that we had an audience in Jack, Miko, Raf, Bulkhead, Cliffjumper and Bumblebee. They did get the feeling something was off but they did not question it...
Even when Arcee practically destroyed me and fought me like I was Airachnid or something.
I had to spend the night in the medbay and refused to elaborate on how I had angered Arcee. Last thing I wanted was everyone to know I walked in on Arcee in the washracks.
During my time in the medbay, Miko paid me a visit, excitedly telling me about how Jack had raced Vince with Arcee and beaten him. Guess that means the events of Speed Metal are underway, and since it was the next day... Jack will be accepting the Circuit Race from Vince today, a race that will start tonight nearly midnight.
It was around that time when Ratchet gave me the okay to exit the medbay and I dod so, entering the ops center to see only Raf and Miko there while everyone else was gone.
"Where is everyone?" I asked as I walked up to them in Cybertronian form, raising an optic ridge when they looked nervous. "Let me guess... to safe Jack and Bumblebee after they entered a race?"
"How did you-"
"Foreknowledge." I cut Miko off with a deadpanned look.
"Oh."
Miko and Raf were trying to tell me I should tell Optimus or not tell Optimus in Raf and Miko's cases respectively. I sighed as the two argued over it before I saw Optimus walk in, causing the kids to go silent.
"Where are the others?" Optimus asked as he walked up to me, looking around for the rest of Team Prime.
I glanced at the kids, Miko giving me a shake of the head while Raf was nodding. I rolled my optics before looking at Optimus. "Out rescuing Bumblebee and Jack from Knockout after Jack entered a race using Bumblebee."
"Killjoy." I heard Miko mutter.
Optimus ordered me to come with him to help the others, so here we were driving down the road in pursuit of Knockout who had no idea we were closing in on him until Optimus blared his horn and I rammed into the side of the Decepticon doctor, causing him to swerve and nearly fall off a cliff but a small rock kept him stuck there as Optimus and I transformed.
"Optimus, Bladewolf, Knockout has a human hostage." Arcee informed us on the comm-link. Well, least she's talking to me again... I hope.
"Understood." Optimus replied as I picked Knockout's car form up and ripped off the driver door, causing Knockout to yell in pain as I took the hostage out, which was actually Vince. Knockout transformed and landed on the ground, looking at where the door on his arm had been.
"Do you know how hard that is to replace?!" Knockout shouted at Optimus and I.
I glared at Knockout and deployed a Riot Cannot. "Want me to do worse damage to that paintjob?" I growled. Knockout took the hint, transformed, and drove off as the rest of the 'Bots drove up.
"Optimus... this was my fault." Jack said from inside Bumblebee's driver seat as I handed Vince to Optimus.
"We must get this boy to safety. Explanations can come later... from all of you." Optimus said sternly to the team who looked nervous at being faced with the disappointed Prime. I would too if it was aimed at me. I wouldn't even race since my vehicle mode wasn't exactly something used in street facing... plus I'd be more destructive than the Fast and Furious movies are with street racing...
And that's it for this chapter everyone. I had to think of stuff to happen during the events of the episode, since it centered mostly on Jack and his attempts to impress Sierra. So I had the chapter be before Arcee goes to pick Jack up and that led to the first race with Vince, and then afterwards when Arcee got back at base.
Of course, George walked in on Arcee at the wrong time while she was basically in a shower... and she let out her female wrath on him in sparring, causing him to be stuck in the medbay for most of the episode's events the day after the first race.
God, even trying to make the situation clear is confusing, but I'm certain you understand what I mean.
