The next chapter is here! Enjoy :)
It had been a couple days since Yeyinde had that serious talk with his brother.
And while Bakuub gave him some sound advice, he still has yet to contact their father and notify him of the situation at hand. The young hunter knew a conversation with his father was inevitable.
And it was something they would have to do before landing.
He and Bakuub doubted their father would be happy if they just showed up with an ooman female on their drop ship without notifying anyone.
At this point, Yeyinde was delaying at what was yet to come.
It was pretty amusing when he did return to Natalie in the kehrite. He noted that the entire time Dachande was trying to teach her some simple basics with the ki'cti-pa.
Yeyinde was surprised to see her twirling the spear about as if it were natural to her.
Then Natalie explained to him that she participated in something called colour guard in high school. It was something that was completely unfamiliar and strange to him until the young woman explained the ins and outs of it.
Apparently, it had to do with twirling flags.
She tried to break it down and explain it to him and the others as clearly as she could. In the end it just left a few yautja baffled to the whole idea and point of such an activity.
But still, they were intrigued that she could implicate such techniques into her use of the combi stick.
Even Yeyinde was pretty impressed as he watched her twirl the combi stick in fairly fluid twirls and spins. She even threw it up in the air mid spin and caught it a few a times.
Dachande, Kaail, and Kv'var-de were quite impressed by the moves.
Until Kv'var-de had to open his mouth and mention the first couple times she tried doing maneuvers with it, she ended up thumping herself in the head with the weapon.
When the three hunters saw this, they started laughing like crazy. Which only made Natalie blush in embarrassment.
Yeyinde didn't see it at the time. Because he was deeply engaged with his brother during their conversation. But once his friends told him what had happened, he couldn't help but laugh too.
Didn't help when Natalie tried to justify herself and said it could happen to anyone.
But Dachande assured her, in his years teaching young pups' basics, that he still had yet to see any thump themselves in the head while practicing with a spear or staff.
The young woman in the end, just gave the training staff back to Dachande, and didn't really want to proceed further after that.
Still, it didn't stop word from spreading to the others. And even Guan and Bakuub got a good chuckle out of it. While Larja-Thwei just snorted and referred to her as a dumbass.
Natalie got annoyed when Yeyinde thought it funny to tease her the rest of the day for it.
That is until Kv'var-de mentioned some hilarious mishaps that Yeyinde did when he started with weapons for the first time. One of which involved a time when he got ahold of his father's smart disc and released it in the weapons room.
At this time, his father was in the middle of mating his mother. And they were disrupted by the loud crashing sounds as the smart disc ricochet off some weapons and the walls and made a huge mess.
Bakuub remembered that story like it happened yesterday.
Their father and mother were so pissed. Father tanned Yeyinde's hide good for that one and made him clean up the mess in the weapons room by himself as punishment and to learn his lesson. At the time, Yeyinde couldn't have been more than ten years of age in ooman years.
Natalie laughed like hell when they told her. She can't imagine someone's parents getting hot and heavy in the bedroom. Only for a ruckus in the room down the hall to occur and instantly kill the mood.
"Why do I feel like you were an absolute terror as a kid?" She said, between laughs.
Bakuub snorted and mumbled something along the lines of, 'you don't know the half of it'.
Which was true, as the youngest in the family, he certainly had a way of keeping their parents on their toes. Specifically, their mother. Since father wasn't always around and out on hunts or training.
Yeyinde couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed when his friends brought up stupid things he'd down while they were pups.
While funny, there were times he wishes he could forget that as a pup, he was the complete opposite of what he was now. As a small pup, he was always overly curious and adventurous. Something that has always gotten him into a lot of trouble. Whether it be with one of his parents or tutors.
it didn't help when Natalie inquired to hear some more embarrassing stories from his youth.
Yeyinde's friends were only too happy to share some more with her. Until they tried to bring up one, he wished he could forget and never happened.
Before they could get too much into it though, Yeyinde leveled them with a threatening glare that screamed 'don't you dare'.
Something that shut them up fairly quickly before they could go further with it. Which was too bad, because Natalie was looking forward to hearing it.
They were now two days away from Yautja Prime.
And within that time, Natalie has been either spending her time with Yeyinde or learning some basic training. He and Dachande would alternate training routines with her.
Though for the hunters it was more or less amusing watching her trying to execute fighting moves.
There were times, she was so horrible at it, it was just too funny not to laugh. Even the others who would often go in the kehrite to spare would stop at times to watch and couldn't help but chuckle when she did something horribly wrong in basics.
It was like watching a teacher trying to train a very young pup for the first time. And like a young pup, Natalie didn't seem to have much of a clue when it came to fighting.
But at least Natalie still enjoyed it. And she was learning. Albeit somewhat slowly.
That night, all seven hunters and the ooman female happened to be enjoying dinner in the mess hall. It was quite amusing to her, because despite their intimidating bulk and presence, they still very much acted like typical young men.
It was hard for her not to find their antics rather amusing.
Especially, when they talked about funny stories from their pasts that either involved them, siblings, or other close relatives and friends. Even Natalie opened up and told her a couple funny things her and her brother did in their youth.
"I think it's safe to say, my brother learned his lesson that day when he went into mom's sock drawer that day trying to scrounge for some money for pizza and ended up pulling out her vibrator instead. He never went in there again after that. He insisted I do it instead from then on out." She said, between laughs.
At first, the hunter didn't even know what a pizza or a vibrator was. Until Natalie explained it to them.
They thought it pretty hilarious when she informed them what a vibrator was and what it was for. It made it all the more funnier when her brother touched it and it took him a moment to realize what it was.
Natalie told them he must've washed his hands thoroughly about five times after touching it.
Practically everyone was laughing at that. Even Larja-Thwei try as he might was having a bit of a hard time keeping a straight face. But each time he felt himself beginning to smirk, he'd grunt and brings his cup of water to his mouth.
"You think that's bad, my brother Mar'cte actually once walked in on our parents while they were mating. He came out and told me he thought mother was actually killing our father." Kv'var-de joked.
"If I remember correctly, he got a thorough chewing out for interrupting them too afterwards." Guan added, with a chuckle.
"That had to be mortifying though. Walking in on your parents like that. And here I thought it was bad enough when my brother and I could hear our parents going at it in their bedroom." Natalie said, while wrinkling her nose in disgust.
Her parents were downright disgusting. They never did try to hide or conceal the fact when they were fucking. And sometimes did it late at night. They were so fucking loud too. Always waking her and Tyler up with their moaning, grunting, and sometimes screaming. Not to mention vaguely hearing the bed frame thump against the wall.
Sucked even more that their bedroom was next to her and her brother's in the tiny apartment they were in.
"Just where is your brother anyway ooman? And why didn't Yeyinde leave you with him to be his problem?" Larja-Thwei asked, in a snappy tone.
Yeyinde shot him a glare. He knew Natalie's brother was a sensitive topic for her.
But now, the damage was done, and all eyes were on her now. It seemed like the other hunters were curious to know the whereabouts of her brother as well.
"Dachande, are you looking to mate with Vk'leita again? Or do you have your sights on another female of interest?" Yeyinde said, attempting to change the topic.
It still impressed Natalie how far and quickly Yeyinde has become versed in her language. He spoke most of the works now very clearly without breaks in between some of them.
But then he told her that he's been practicing a lot, even after they came aboard the ship.
Dachande went to open his mouth to answer. But again, Larja-Thwei wouldn't let it go.
"Perhaps, you are just as much a burden to your brother as you are to us. And that is why Yeyinde brought you here and instead of to him." Larja-Thwei boasted.
Yeyinde and some of the others noted that Natalie was no longer laughing and enjoying herself. Instead, her body gradually became rigid with each quip from the red colored yautja.
And they saw her smile slowly morph into a deep scowl.
Larja-Thwei could sense her growing anger as well, and smirked.
"Did he perhaps beg Yeyinde to take you with him? Or maybe he just doesn't care what happens to you at all." He kept going.
As soon as that statement left his mouth, Larja felt something hit him square in the face and splatter into pieces.
The red yautja looked on, stunned as the remnants rolled down his face. Judging by the dribble that dripped down his face and into his mouth, it was a naxa fruit.
And it was the little ooman that threw it at him.
That only curbed her anger so much though. And she was gearing to throw something else at him. She really wishes the yautja utilized eating utensils. Because at this point, she was pissed enough to throw a knife at him.
Before she could think of what else to throw in the meantime, the once silent table erupted into peals of laughter from the rest of the hunters sitting around it.
Larja-Thwei didn't like that. He became quite irritated. Then he picked up his large cup of water and throw the remaining liquid across the table at her. Most of it splashed across her face.
She growled and picked up a small chunk of meat and threw it at him in retaliation. He tried to duck it, but some of it landed in his eye.
Kaail couldn't help but laugh at his brother. And that is when Larja shoved some food into the side of his head. The brownish yautja was shocked for a moment, before he picked up some of his own food and tried to pelt the red yautja sitting right next to him with it.
Not long after, the whole table became a war zone as everyone started flinging food projectiles at one another.
No one was truly angry as they throttled one another with their meals. Laughs would continue to break out every now and then. It seemed everyone was having a good time.
By the time there was hardly any food left on their plates, everyone was caked in pieces of meat and fruit, as well as water.
Yeyinde and Kaail found themselves also covered in c'ntlip curtesy of Guan and Dachande who had the alcoholic beverage in their cups instead of water. In the end, they would all need a thorough bath or shower to rid themselves of the thin layer of food they were now all covered in.
"Well, that was an unexpected outcome for this evening. Though I can't say it was all that disappointing." Kv'var-de stated, with a hint of laughter in his voice.
"Indeed, but I think since Natalie started it, she should be the one to clean the mess. Larja should too for that matter for goading her into it." Bakuub informed them.
"What!?"
"What!?"
Natalie and Larja said at the same time. Which was quite comical with the stunned look on their faces that followed.
"Sorry, but you two initiated it. So, it's only natural you end up with the consequences." Bakuub added, sounding like a scolding parent.
"Seriously!? Look at all this! It could possibly take hours to clean all of this shit up!" She argued.
"And I was going to train with Kaail after we were done here!" Larja piped in, clearly upset.
"Look at it this way, Larja. It's bonding time for you and Natalie. Seeing as you two don't get along very well." Kv'var-de teased.
"Forget it, you want me to clean this place, fine. But I'm not bonding in any way with the little whelp. She's been nothing but a pain since she came here." Larja snapped.
"You're one to talk, asshole. I hardly even talk to you let alone acknowledge your existence. And you still act like I go around bugging the hell out of you. Do us a favor and pull the extra-large ki'cti-pa out of your ass and get a life." Natalie snapped back.
"Enough! Both of you need to calm down. Regardless of how you feel about each other, it doesn't change the fact that your both cleaning this mess." Bakuub said, clearly getting annoyed with their banter.
"I'll stay and assist them, brother. This really is a very large mess after all. And despite the fact that they have started it, we are all still partially responsible for engaging in it ourselves." Yeyinde intervened.
He did want to stay and help, but he also really wanted to stay because he was concerned another fight would break out between Natalie and Larja-Thwei while they cleaned up.
Bakuub huffed, "Fine, just make sure they clean up everything that's covered in food."
He then got up and left the table. But not before they all heard him muttering about having to polish his armor all over again, now that it was caked in food.
A few of the others chuckled at that statement. Before they too all decided to filter out, feeling the need to head back to their quarters to shower and get clean.
"Yeyinde, can't we at least shower first?" Natalie asked.
To her surprise, he shook his head.
"Sorry, Natalie. But I think it's best to clean up here first. Think of it as part of your consequences, you started this, so you may as well clean the area first before cleaning yourself." He mused.
"Just don't mention the idea of showering together. Otherwise, there'll be another mess to clean up off this floor after I hurl." Larja retorted as he went back to grab cleaning supplies out of a small utility closet on the left side of the mess hall.
Yeyinde and Natalie just threw him a dirty look.
"Can I please hit him with at least one more thing? Preferably slam a trey over that thick head of his? Something tells me he won't even feel it." She sarcastically retorts.
Yeyinde let out a small trill. That statement held some truth to it. Larja may not feel the impact of the trey on his incredibly thick skull.
"As amusing as that would be to see, no. Now come on, let's go grab some cleaning supplies. The sooner we finish this, the better." He told her.
Then he too headed to the utility closet on the other side of the room. Natalie let out a long, drawn-out sigh, before pulling something somewhat sticky and slimy off her forehead that started to slowly creep down it. She wrinkled her nose and flicked it aside. Before following him over.
For the most part, everyone cleaned in silence.
Which was good. Because Yeyinde really didn't feel like playing referee between the two of them the whole time they cleaned up the place.
Figured I'd add in some humor here involving everyone in this motley crew of young hunters. And I thought a food fight was the perfect opportunity to do so.
Until Next Time ;)
