The next chapter is up! Enjoy :)
Natalie was a bundle of nerves by the time they reached Guan in the med room.
Yeyinde knew this was where the dark smokey colored yautja would be. When he wasn't training, Guan was in the med room with his eyes buried in a microscope.
Guan was studying a holographic image and tapping some buttons off to the side. But his attention shifted to the door of the med room when it slid open, and he saw Yeyinde walked in with Natalie.
The other yautja switched on his translator and began to speak.
"Hey, how's it going? Everything ok?" Guan asked.
"Hard to say. Something...happened with Natalie in the kehrite." Yeyinde stated.
Guan cocked his head, "What? What happened? Are you injured?" He asked her.
She rubbed her arm and shifted on her feet awkwardly.
"No, I'm ok. Just a little...weirded out." Natalie replied.
"She got into another argument with Larja again. And in anger...hit the wall. When she pulled her fist back, there was a nice size dent in the metal wall from her hit.
And that is not all, she then kicked Larja in the stomach and sent him crashing into the side of the platform ring behind him. It was a very strong and accurate kick. The way he was knocked back, you would've thought he received the blow from another yautja during a fight.
We don't know how something like this could've happened. The only explanation we could think of is it has to do with the yautja blood within her.
We're hoping you can examine her again. Hopefully, be able to provide an answer or explanation to these strange occurrences." Yeyinde inquired.
Guan was quite surprised to hear this. It was astonishing to see the healing factors the blood had on her body. And now, this happens.
"To demonstrate strength like that. I don't have too many doubts it has to do with the yautja blood within her. Because no oomans are capable of being that strong. Especially, one of her size and weight." Guan explained.
He hunted oomans before. Everyone on this ship had at least one hunt that involved oomans.
And while they were intelligent and crafty. They weren't super strong. Guan has fought a couple large ooman males on one of his last hunts. And while he did feel their hits, they weren't strong enough to debilitate him or leave him with serious injuries.
Guan wished he was there to witness Natalie during the time of the incident. He could only imagine the look on Larja's face as she kicked him back.
"Anyways, you can go over to the table, Natalie." He told her.
She walked over and hopped onto the large, elevated table.
Then she turned and sat on it with her feet dangling over the side and eyed the two yautja in front of her.
"Lay down, I'd like to do a full body scan first. And then take another blood sample from you." He instructed.
Natalie made a small face at the remark about blood samples. She hated needles as it was. But if they needed some to study and figure out was going on with her, then that was fine. Hopefully, it wasn't a huge needle.
She sighed and straightened herself out as she laid down.
Yeyinde came to stand next to her to provide support when and if she needed it. While Guan went over to a screen and pressed a few holographic buttons.
Not a few moments later, the scan hovering above the table was activated and started to slowly move over her prone form.
Guan studied the image of her internal structure as it popped up in a holographic image above the scan as it slid down her form. At the same time, he had a smaller image of an ooman skeleton off to the side of another screen. His eyes shifted back and forth from that image to her structure as the scanner continued to scan her.
'Strange. Her bones look a little different.' Guan thought as he continued to study the images.
Besides some of the strange anomalies in her scan. He didn't find anything wrong. She seemed healthy enough. But again, he still wanted samples from her to be certain.
Because some things may not always show on a scanner. But will show up in blood and tissue work.
The healer tapped away, taking notes and data on his findings to store away in her records. Afterwards the scan came to a stop and Guan turned it off.
He turned to Yeyinde and Natalie.
"I didn't see anything wrong during her scan. But I noticed something different with her bone structure." Guan said.
Natalie's eyes widened and she sat back up.
"Different? What do you mean different?" She inquired.
"I was looking at an image of an ooman skeleton. While I was also looking at your internal skeletal structure. Ooman bones are not as dense as a yautja's. But your bones...they seem to be a bit denser than a normal oomans.
The yautja blood the oomans dosed you with is clearly doing something to alter your chemistry slightly. While I don't believe it will affect outward physical appearances, it is doing something to you internally.
I will know even more when I take a couple samples from you." He said, answering her questions.
Yeyinde seemed to be just a surprised as Natalie was. Who would've thought an injection of his own blood would have such an effect on an ooman.
"So, it's...clearly changing me. Is what you're saying." She surmised.
Guan nodded, then he went over to one of the counters and pulled out a small syringe. He attached a vile to it then turned around and approached Natalie.
She got squirmy when she saw him walking over with the vaccine that had a pretty long point on the end and attached to a fairly big vile.
"Need your arm, Natalie." He motioned to her arm.
Natalie was a bit reluctant to do so.
Then she felt a large hand on her shoulder and felt a light squeeze followed by a soft purr. Her gaze shifted to Yeyinde who gave her a small encouraging smile.
She slowly held out her left arm for Guan and looked away.
Guan swiped some clear fluid over the crook of her arm. Then he tapped her arm to expose her veins. He didn't give her any warning as he slid the needle into her arm.
Natalie let out a pained hiss and clenched her fist.
The tube attached to the needle quickly filled with her dark, crimson blood. And once it filled to the top, Guan finally pulled it out. Then pressed the pad of his thumb over the injection site and lightly rubbed it, which made her flinch a bit.
She breathed a sigh of relief, believing he was done.
Until he came walking over with a small cylindrical object that greatly resembled a pen. He didn't say anything, just went to the same arm, turned it over and placed the blunt, flat end of the strange pen to the meatier part, and pressed a button at the top.
Natalie let out a small, surprised yelp, as she felt like something just rip a chunk of skin right off her arm.
Yeyinde put an arm around her shoulder to keep her from moving about to much when this happened. They wanted to make sure Guan got everything he would need to study the components in her body.
"What the hell was that!?" She blurted out.
She noted the deep somewhat bloody red spot the size of a nickel in the top part of her arm. It looked like whatever that thing was took off several layers of her skin.
"It was to collect a small skin and tissue sample. Don't worry, that was it. I will study both samples and inform you both of what I find." Guan told them.
He grabbed another small metallic tube and placed it over the irritated red spot and squeezed it. A clear, metallic get came out and he lightly rubbed it into the small wound.
Natalie felt a coolness seeping in, and it started to numb the stinging pain that came from it. The gel also slowly dried up and acted like a Band-Aid, stopping the tiny dribbles of blood that came from it.
"How long do you think you have before you find anything to provide answers for us?" Yeyinde inquired.
"Shouldn't take too long. I'll get to work on the samples right away. I may have answers for you later today. At the latest, tomorrow morning." Guan replied.
The healer than turned his attention to Natalie.
"In the meantime, try not to lose your temper. I know Larja is an ass but try not to let him push you around. The last thing you want is to continue to make it even worse between yourself and him." Guan told her.
"I'll try. But I can't make any promises. The guy has a very big mouth and apparently doesn't know when to shut it." She retorted.
Both Guan and Yeyinde chuckled at that remark.
"Yes, we agree. He definitely doesn't know when to shut up at times. Still, try your best to ignore him if you can. If not, well, I can't promise I won't laugh if he comes in here with an injury, he received from you because he pissed you off again." The healer lightly joked.
He along with the other hunters onboard know that the red colored yautja just sometimes had to learn things the hard way before getting it through his thick skull.
A small smile of amusement decorated her face.
"Hey, at least it may be the highlight of your day and you'll get a good laugh out of it." She joked.
Yeyinde trilled and just shook his head.
"Ok, spunky one. Time to go." Yeyinde teased.
Natalie rolled her eyes but continued to smile.
They thanked Guan, before promptly leaving the room.
Out in the hall, Natalie turned her gaze to Yeyinde.
"What do you think he will find? I know he keeps telling me not to worry and nothing dangerous was happening that he could see. But that doesn't mean things can't suddenly change and become dangerous for me." She inquired, a little worried.
The young hunter gave her a soft smile.
"I think you'll be fine. If by any chance there is something wrong, you're in good hands. We'll do what we can to help you. But still, I doubt that'll be the case." Yeyinde assured her.
Natalie slowly nodded, "Ok. Anyways, I don't know about you. But kicking the shit out of Larja has made me hungry. So, I wanted to go to the mess hall and grab some food."
Yeyinde started to laugh at her statement.
"Yeah, fighting tends to have that affect. Despite the fact you hardly exerted energy and landed only one blow. But I guess, deflating some of that hot air from Larja's thick head can be rather tiresome." He teased.
They continued to laugh and joke as they made their way to the mess hall.
Until Next Time ;)
