Episode 26: Pups And The Grand Prix! Who's The Fastest Pup On The Paw Patrol?

December 15th, 2029

Rubble's paw had healed up, and to celebrate, everyone was going to have a race! Alex had asked who was the fastest pup, and nobody knew. Ryder then suggested that they have the pups race their vehicles around the town, and Ben was ecstatic about this idea. It would be the ultimate test of speed and skill! They had even invited Everest and Tracker from the mountain and forest to compete. Skye giggled as she hung up the last piece of racing decoration at the entrance of City Hall. "There! The Adventure Bay Road Race is going to be amazing!" Skye exclaimed as she flew back down to the ground, doing a backflip as she spoke to Ryder and Ben.

"You bet it is. I must admit that I'm really excited to see who's the fastest out of all you pups." Ben remarked.

"Yup! It's also an excellent way to test your driving skills!" Ryder added, grinning as he tied a batch of balloons to a sack.

Chase set up some more cones and went to grab more. "Can't start until we get all of the cones set up!" Chase yelped.

Ben smiled as all of the pups talked about who could win.

"Sorry, dude. I'll be zooming past you. My name is Zoom-a, after all." Zuma challenged.

"Nah, I bet Skye is going to win! She can fly up and take a shortcut!" Rubble pondered.

"Tracker could take some off road routes as well!" Rocky pointed out.

Tracker's ears stood up straight and he shook his head no. "¡Nunca! I would never cheat at a race! Cheating removes all the challenge and fun! If I'm going to win, I'm going to win fair and square!" Tracker protested.

"I'm gonna win fair and square, but I've been thinking of ways to use my car and my skills to my advantage! Safely, though." Alex added.

"I don't care how well I do. My snowcat isn't exactly meant for speed. All I care about is having fun!" Everest chuckled.

Suddenly, Ryder called all of the pups on their tags. "What!? Ryder's calling?" Marshall exclaimed.

Ben nodded as he sat down at the finishing line. "Yup. Ryder's calling so that you pups can get a rundown of the race course. Go, I'll finish things up here!" Ben told the pups.

The canines nodded and ran off to the lookout, howling in delight as they scampered off. While Ben prepared the drone so they could have an aerial view of the race, a cream colored cat with a helmet, riding a motorcycle, drove up. "Hey, am I too late for the race?!" The cat asked.

Ben shook his head. "Yeah, but hold on. Are you actually driving a motorcycle!?" Ben inquired, impressed with this feline.

"Yup! Name's Wild. I'm a stunt cyclist." The kitten introduced himself. Ben gave the cat a thumbs up.

"Well, you look pretty sweet, Wild. Sorry to tell ya this but the race is for Paw Patrol members only." Ben complimented, before apologizing to the cat and breaking the bad news.

"Aww…" Wild sighed sadly.

"Don't fret! You and I can watch the race from the lookout!" Ben exclaimed. The eighteen year old walked over to his own motorcycle and started it, gesturing for the cat to follow him. They took a back road to the Lookout and went up the elevator to the big screen.

"All right, time to put the periscope of the tower into display mode!" Ben declared as he pressed some buttons in the control room.

The periscope then started to glow, and the display screen started to show off what the periscope was seeing. Now, Ben and Wild could see the race from an even better view than the mayor, and she was in a hot air balloon! Ben explained the route to Wild. "The race starts at City Hall. It goes around Mr. Porter's restaurant, up to Jake's mountain, then past the Lookout, over the bridge and across the finish line at City Hall." Ben told the cat.

"Wow. That's quite a route! Wish I could race on it with the others." Wild remarked. Ben chuckled.

"If you're so skilled with that motorcycle of yours, then I'm fairly certain you have a shot of getting in. We do have applications, you know." Ben replied.

Wild nodded, taking that into consideration as he watched the screen. Back at the starting line, the group got ready to start the race. Ryder was at the finish line with the checkered black and white flag. "ATTENTION RACERS! Start your engines!" Mayor Goodway yelled out with her megaphone.

Alex grinned as he put the vehicle into drive, and the engine sputtered to life. Everest, Tracker, and the rest of the pups did too. "I'm watching from the Lookout, everyone. Don't worry because I'm not there!" Ben radioed the group.

"Got it, Ben! Hope you enjoy the race!" Alex answered.

"ON YOUR MARK… GET SET… GO!" Mayor Goodway yelled out as Ryder waved the flag. All nine pups tore off past the starting line, making their way through the race course.

At first, Zuma was in the lead, but when Mr. Porter was in the road, Zuma and Marshall had to swerve to get out of the way, knocking the watermelons and making several of them land on the heads of the racers. Rubble, Rocky, Skye, and Chase got splatted by the watermelons. "My oh my, it's melon mania down there! But this snack break is over, as the racers are back on track as Everest and Rubble take the lead!" Mayor Goodway narrated.

Everest and Rubble were in first and second, but not for long, as Alex used his jumper cables to slingshot his van using some of the lamp posts, earning him the first place spot as they drove up Jake's mountain. Using his wolf senses, he was able to track Chase's scent from earlier in the day, and followed the main road while the rest of the group went off course due to Jake having removed the cones. Everest was in second, Tracker in third, Marshall in fourth. "The racers just got through a mountain of trouble, Jake's mountain! With Everest right on our wolf cub Alex's tail, this is looking to be an exciting race!" Mayor Goodway narrated.

As they went up the hill instead of down this time, Rubble's rig lost some of the momentum it had, and the bulldog's rig fell behind in the race. Chase's police cruiser had gotten a branch poked into a tire, which forced him out of the race, while Tracker gained speed and surpassed Everest. Her snowcat was also slowing down, making her switch from third to fifth as Marshall got ahead of her. Rocky slowed down his recycling truck as Everest drove by his side. "Everest, where's Chase?!" Rocky yelled.

"I'm not sure! His vehicle was slowing down and making a funny noise when I passed him!" Everest shouted.

"OH NO! I can't concentrate on the race while Chase might be in danger! Hold on, buddy!" Rocky shouted anxiously.

Rocky turned around and got in the right hand lane, driving past Rubble and the other racers. Driving back through the mountain, Rocky's eyes widened with horror as he saw Chase looking dejected and sitting there in his ruined cruiser.

"Chase! Are you okay?!" Rocky yelled out as he drove his recycling truck up to Chase's pupmobile and hopped out. "I'm fine… just disappointed. I can't finish the race at all now!" Chase grumbled.

"Sure you can, Chase! You just need a little tune up, that's all!" Rocky promised. Using one of the spare tires he carried around in his truck in case of a emergency repair for the pupmobiles, he removed the flattened tire and replaced it with his new one. "There we go! Good as new! You're back in the race now, Chase!" Rocky exclaimed.

"Oh, what does it matter? The two of us are so far behind that we've got no chance of winning!" Chase sighed unhappily.

"Chase, we have to finish the race! It wouldn't be right if we didn't!" Rocky insisted.

"Oh, okay. Won't matter, I'm gonna finish last anyways…" Chase growled. The two got back in their vehicles and started on the race track again.

An explosion of bubbles suddenly erupted from Katie's pet salon, caused by some sort of chemical reaction involving shampoo. The mass of bubbles was so large that the group spun out! In the sudsy, disinfecting discord of the big bubble mass, Marshall spun out and leaned into his spin, letting him overtake Alex!

Tracker was right behind, and he was in second. The finish line was coming up… Tracker and Marshall were neck and neck, they were side by side! "¡Vamos, vamos, Jeep!" Tracker barked as he sped up.

Marshall pressed his paw on the gas pedal, giving it every inch of pressure he could muster! Ryder took a finish line picture, and the rest of the pups crossed the finish line. There was a small sinner's podium set up, as well as some gold, silver, and bronze medals for the first, second, and third place winners.

"Who won?!" Alex yipped as the pups turned off their vehicles and ran to Ryder.

"Let's see what the photo shows us!" Ryder replied as he pulled up the picture. Marshall and Tracker were coming across the finish line, but Marshall was just a smidge ahead of the Jeep. "Marshall, you won! Congrats, you got the gold medal!" Ryder exclaimed.

Skye flew over the finish line next and set her helicopter down on the ground as Zuma crossed the finish line in his hoverboard. Everest was next to end the race, followed by Rubble. "AND RUBBLE TAKES SEVENTH PLACE! …Wait. Where are Chase and Rocky!?" Mayor Goodway asked worriedly.

"Rocky went to go and help Chase with a flat tire!" Rubble explained as he jumped out of his rig.

"Oh no! Chase got a flat tire!? What if he's in trouble!?" Skye worriedly wondered.

Marshall giggled. "Oh, don't worry! Our fearless leader is going to be fine! If they were in a real bind, they'd call us for help!" Marshall reassured his sister.

"Yeah, Chase is gonna be fine!" Zuma comforted her.

Mayor Goodway put her binoculars up to her head as she spotted the green recycling truck and police cruiser blazing down the street. "OH! CHASE AND ROCKY ARE ABOUT TO REACH THE FINISH LINE! AND CHASE TAKES THE WIN!" Genevieve shouted in glee as Chase overtook Rocky at the end.

"See, Chase? You didn't come in dead last!" Rocky chuckled.
