Season 2 Episode 14: MIGHTY PUPS VS A CALAMITOUS CAT CATASTROPHE CREW PART ONE

February 29th, 2030

Things were looking up for the Paw Patrol. Ben had managed to retrieve the Dragonzord from the ocean of Adventure Bay, figured out how to get inside of it, and even got a remote control for it. He was feeling mighty proud of himself. And at this moment, he was helping Ryder move the meteor into the Lookout's dressing chamber, where several of the Paw Patrol outfits and pup packs were kept. Everest and Tracker were here in Adventure Bay as well.

Operating the lift to get the meteor in the compartment, Ben laughed as Rubble looked at the glowing space rock with excitement. "Is it glowing again!?" Rubble asked ecstatically.

"Yeah, it's glowing all right. Just as bright as when it first crash landed in Adventure Bay. We've been working with Lightspeed and SPD to figure out the best way to harness the power of the meteor." Ben explained.

"We've installed the special tubes that are in your pup tags that harness the shard power into the dressing chamber. The Mighty Meteor's cosmic energies will be drawn through the tubes and through the tower, where the satellite dish will beam it into your pup tags and give you your superpowers! This way, you pups can get your mighty powers whenever you need them!" Ryder continued.

"Sweet! How about right now? I could just hold up my paws and my water power would totally push the meteor right in place. Whoosh!" Zuma giggled, imitating when he had his hydrokinesis and imagining the water pouring out of his paws.

"I could use my mighty whirlwind to lift it way up. Whoosh!" Skye chuckled, twirling around.

"Not if I run the meteor up there first with my super speed. Vroom!" Chase exclaimed.

"Your powers were pretty awesome." Ryder admitted.

"Yeah! I could make anything with my glowing constructs!" Rocky cheered.

"And I could shoot LIGHTNING!" Alex howled.

"I was super duper strong!" Rubble added.

"I could grow GIGANTIC!" Ella shouted happily.

"I could breathe ice and freeze things solid!" Everest chimed in.

"¡Podría hacer plantas grandes! I was able to make the biggest plants I had ever seen, even bigger than the ones in the jungle!" Tracker chirped.

Marshall and Tuck looked down at the ground, blushing a little and scraping their paws against the ground. "What's wrong, you two? Aren't you excited to get your mighty powers back?" Ben wondered, bending down and getting on eye level with Tuck and Marshall.

"Yeah, but… my powers aren't really helpful in a fight." Tuck muttered.

"And my powers are really dangerous! I can generate heat and shoot fire, which of course is awesome, but it could just as easily hurt someone really badly! It also feels really ironic, since I'm a firefighter! I'm supposed to put out fires, not create them!" Marshall protested.

Ben smiled as he patted both of the pups on the head. Ella ran up to her brother and gave him a sisterly lick. "Tuck, if it weren't for you, then we might not HAVE Marshall with us today! You shrunk down and braved the dangers of the backyard at a small size to bring our brother back to us! And you shrunk down to go inside Harold's robot and bust up the wires, without that I doubt we would have won against Harold's robot!" Ella reminded her sibling.

"Marshall, as a firefighter, you're the most qualified to have pyrokinetic abilities! You above all the other pups in the Paw Patrol understand how destructive fire can be! That means you'll exercise the most restraint when using that power. And don't forget. Fire may be destructive, but it also paves the way for new life." Ben reassured Marshall.

The dalmatian ran up and gave Ben a hug. "Aw, thanks, Ben." Marshall sighed happily.

"I think we can all agree that we miss being Mighty Pups. I hope that we get to use our powers soon." Chase sighed wistfully. The German Shepherd needed to be more careful with what he wished for, though, because his wish was about to come true… and not in a good way. This would be their most dangerous adventure yet.

"I know that the meteor crashed around here somewhere… if a piece of it broke off, my Space Rock Finder 3000 will find it." Harold muttered as he ran his device across the beach sands, while the kittens followed him around. His uncle had left him in charge of the kittens for a few days as he took care of some electoral business in Adventure City. His mom was too busy preparing for the Adventure Bay 500, and Harold had gotten his college work done for the next five weeks, so he was free to do as he pleased.

"Good thing Uncle Mayor isn't around. If I found a meteor shard while he was present, he'd snatch it away for himself so he could get those dumb 'super mayor powers'. Hmph. He doesn't give me enough respect. At least mom lets me tune up her Cheetah Racer and lets me help spy on her opponents." Harold grumbled to himself as he swept his detector across the sand. The snickering of the kittens drew his attention.

Turning around, he gasped as he saw they had uncovered a meteor shard. "No way! You kitties actually found one!" Harold exclaimed. Grinning maliciously as he picked it up, the shard let out a burst of energy that hit not only him but the six kittens. He had dressed them up like the Paw Patrol, and had taken to calling them the Kitten Catastrophe Crew. His uncle was too focused on coddling them to bring out their evil potential.

"All right, I'm super again! Now kitties, watch my awesome machine-making powers! Bear witness as I create this rocket powered hoverboard! Impressive, isn't it?" Harold gloated to his feline friends, using his abilities to reformat his detector into a hoverboard. However, the hoverboard flew at the kitties, and knocked over the lifeguard chair. Suddenly, Catastrophe Yellow kicked the chair into the sky!

"...That was pretty impressive too. You kittens must have gotten superpowers as well! That means you can be my super-powered hench cats! No! YOU COULD BE MY… CALAMITY CAT CATASTROPHE CREW! YES! My very own team of evil Rangers! MWAHAHAHAHA! Okay kittens. Judging by how Catastrophe Yellow has the same superstrength as that bratty bulldog, I assume each kitten has the corresponding powers of the pup they're supposed to rival. GO OUT AND SOW THE SEEDS OF DISCORD THROUGHOUT ADVENTURE BAY! I'll come up with an evil plan in the meantime!" Harold mused, before letting out an evil cackle and giving instructions to the kittens. Always up for causing trouble, the cats nodded before spreading throughout Adventure Bay while Harold flew on his hoverboard back to his cave.

A blue blur came up and circled around Mr. Porter before sitting in front of him. It was a kitten dressed up like a police officer. "Aww, how cute. Hi there, kitty. No, no. This tuna is not for you." Mr. Porter told the cat. In an instant, the cat reappeared on top of his watermelons. "Wow, what kind of cat food have you been eating?" Mr. Porter wondered. The cat kicked the melons down into the street, and Mr. Porter chased after them. The cat used this opportunity to steal the tuna cans. "COME BACK WITH THAT TUNA!" Mr. Porter yelled, but the cat was much too quick for him. He realized that the paws were glowing blue on that cat… just like Chase's had when he was a Mighty Pup. He had to call Ryder!

Meanwhile, Farmer Al was preparing to milk the cows with his wife Yumi. He heard his goat bleat, and decided to give the horned animal some reassurance. "I'll be right back, Garbie! I need to milk the cows!" Farmer Al told his goat as he grabbed a bucket. Turning around, he gasped as he saw a yellow-wearing kitty carrying all three of his cows on its back! "Huh? Instead of waiting for the milk, that itty-bitty kitty just took my whole herd!" Farmer Al yelped.

"Albert, look! That cat's paws are glowing yellow, just like when Rubble was superpowered!" Farmer Yumi pointed out.

And at the docks, Captain Horatio Turbot and his animal pal Wally were admiring their catch of fresh fish. "Yep! The Flounder is full of fresh fish, Wally. Once I unload it, I'll treat you to a taste." Captain Turbot promised. The walrus barked, but then, a pink whirlwind lifted up the Flounder and spun it around, stranding it on dry land! The sailor squinted and cleaned his glasses to make sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. Indeed, there was a pink wearing kitten that had the same whirlwind as Skye! "A flying furry feline?! I'd better call the Paw Patrol!" The seaman exclaimed.

Wild yawned as he woke up, stretching out and standing up. "Morning mom!" Wild yawned. He didn't hear any response. Walking over to his mom's nest of blankets, he climbed on top of the pile of quilts and nudged her. "Mom, wake up." Wild mumbled sleepily. Then he felt her body. It was colder, a lot colder than it should be. Taking a look at her head, he took in a sharp breath as he saw her lifeless, open eyes. If she were sleeping, her eyes would be closed. Her chest wasn't moving either.

"No… no! No no no no! Mom! MOM! I'm not ready to say goodbye yet! MOM!" Wild shouted, cradling her lifeless husk in his arms and burying his head in her fur, beginning to sob. A wail of pure anguish and pain erupted from him as he wept in sorrow. "Mom… I'm so sorry. I know you were sick… but I wish I could have done more!" Wild cried.

An amused hiss drew his attention to make him see a cat that was wearing a red firefighter outfit, like Marshall. Seeing a cat wearing a mockery of his friend's uniform made Wild angry. "GO AWAY! Can't a cat mourn in peace!?" Wild snarled at the intruder. The cat leapt onto an oil canister and tipped it over, the black viscous liquid spilling over the floor and onto Wild's motorcycle tire. "HEY! That's my bike!" Wild yelled.

The cat's paw started to glow red, and Wild's eyes widened as a flame flickered to life. Oil was very volatile! He had read enough instruction manuals to know what would happen if fire mixed with oil. Wild scampered through the open garage door and out of the abandoned mechanic/car repair shop he called home as the oil caught on fire and started to spread. A blue blur grabbed the red kitty just before his motorcycle exploded, incinerating and igniting everything in the auto shop. Wild stood there, transfixed in horror and shock at what had just happened to both his home, and his mom. The collar that he had been given by Tuck had a communicator in case of emergencies… if there ever was a time to call the Paw Patrol, then it was now.

At the Lookout, Ryder and Ben were in the control room when they received a call from Mr. Porter. "Hi, Mr. Porter. What's up?" Ryder asked.

"Mayor Humdinger's kitty was moving super fast and took all my tuna!" The salesman exclaimed.

Another call came in, and Ben signaled for Mr. Porter to hold on for a second. "Greetings, Farmer Al. What seems to be the problem?" Ben inquired.

"Oh, my cows! A teeny, tiny kitty lifted them all up and carried them away!" Farmer Al moaned.

Wild phoned in. "Ryder, a kitten that was wearing an outfit that was mocking Marshall's fashion sense came into the garage and lit it on fire!" Wild wailed.

Captain Turbot suddenly phoned in. "Let us guess… kitten problems?" Ben and Ryder sighed together in unison.

"Trouble is too timid a term. I've been fish-jacked by a flying feline who beached my boat to boot." Captain Turbot groaned.

"All four of those kittens looked like they had superpowers!" The three callers revealed.

"Superpowers, you say?! Well lucky for you, we have just the thing." Ben replied, nodding his head to Ryder.

"No super problem is too big, no mighty morphin pup is too small! MIGHTY PUPS, TO THE LOOKOUT!" Ryder declared, summoning the pups.

Ben slid down the fire pole as Ryder got into his Mighty Armor. After discussion, Ben had agreed that as the leader of the team, Ryder's suit should be original and not an echo of a past Ranger. Marshall, Tuck, Ella, Chase, Skye, Rubble, Zuma, Rocky, Alex, Tracker, and Everest all piled into the Elevator, with Ben hurrying inside before the doors closed. "IT'S MORPHIN TIME, MIGHTY PUPS!" Ben announced. The Lookout began to change before their very eyes as the meteor's power was drawn into the tower and through the special tubing. The elevator was replaced with a glowing energy lift as the Mighty Morphin Power Pup suits were put on by the mechanical arms, with Ben morphing into his own Green Ranger suit.

They saw the ground open up beside the Lookout and a jet was lifted up onto the Lookout yard. "Courtesy of SPD and Lightspeed, they've given us vehicles that run on your powers! Epic, isn't it?" Ben smugly said as they floated up to the top of the tower.

"Do we get our own Megazord like the one you retrieved from the ocean?!" Rubble squealed. Ben threw his head back and laughed.

"HAHAHAHAHA! We're barely starting out, Rubble. No, I'm afraid we don't get one." Ben chuckled.

The newly suited up pups and human stepped onto the balcony, their hands and front paws glowing. "MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER PUPS, READY FOR MIGHTY MORPHIN ACTION, RYDER, SIR!" Ben and Chase roared together.

"And these new uniforms are awesome looking!" Marshall added.

The screen emerged from the control panel and started to play its animatic as Ryder gave a rundown of the situation. "Thanks for getting here so quickly, Mighty Pups. Somehow, Mayor Humdinger's kitties got superpowers. They're causing problems all over Adventure Bay. It'll take you Mighty Pups, your super paws, and brand new mighty vehicles to stop them." Ryder explained.

"I bet that Harold has something to do with this. I bet after the scroll incident, he wanted to get payback, and so he went meteor shard hunting…" Ben growled angrily.

"We'll deal with Harold if he shows up. Right now, we need to take care of these problematic cats. Mighty Chase, I need your super speed and super fast ride to catch up to that kitty, and to get back Mr. Porter's tuna using your energy net. Mighty Rubble. I need you to use your super strength and mighty rig to push the Flounder back into the water, as well as carry back Farmer Al's cows after we find out where they are. Mighty Skye. I need you to use your whirlwind jet to return Cap'n Turbot's fish. Mighty Zuma, Mighty Everest, you two take care of Wild and the burning garage. Ben will come with you to take a look at Wild." Ryder instructed.

"These mighty paws uphold the laws!" The German Shepherd barked.

"Mighty Rubble is ready for trouble!" The bulldog smirked.

"This mighty puppy is going for a spin!" Skye confidently said.

"Time to do the wave!" Zuma howled.

"Let's do the big chill!" Everest cheered.

"All right! Mighty Pups are ready to go, go, go!" Ryder yelled out in delight as he leapt off of the Lookout balcony, using his jetpack to take to the skies. Ben and the pups took the energy rope down to their vehicles, charging them up with their meteor energy and driving out into the city.

While Rubble, Chase, and Skye took on their respective assignments, Ben went with Zuma and Everest to handle the garage. Chase's vehicle sped up as he chased after the blue kitten. "Drop the tuna, you thieving feline!" Chase yelled, driving after it. Using his vehicle's energy net, he was able to catch the tuna, but the blue cat got away. "Well, you gotta take the small victories along with the big ones, I suppose." Chase chuckled.

"Don't worry, Captain Turbot, I'll get your boat back in the water!" Rubble reassured.

"Your rig looks super powerful, Mighty Rubble, but wouldn't it be better if you used the super strength in your paws to push my boat back into the bay?" Captain Turbot inquired.

"Not with this!" Rubble exclaimed, firing a yellow burst from his vehicle that pushed the boat back in the water.

"That was a mighty nice nudge, Mighty Rubble!" The sailor gratefully said.

When Zuma, Ben, and Everest got to the garage, they saw that the fire on the building had spread and engulfed the second floor. Wild was curled up in a ball, sobbing as the two pups and the human came up to the building. "Mama… mama!" Wild sobbed. Ben gasped as he heard that.

"Zuma, Everest, get to work putting out the flames on the outside of the building. I'm going in after Wild's mom!" Ben ordered.

"Got it! Let's put out these fires!" Zuma replied, sharing a nod with Everest and pressing his paws to the controls.

A high pressure stream of water shot out from his hovercraft as Everest breathed ice on the upper areas of the building to put out the blaze.

Ben ran into the building, which was still burning on the inside. "BEN, NO!" Wild screamed as he realized that his sobbing had misled Ben to believe his mom was still alive.

Leaping to his feet, Wild ran into the flaming garage after his friend.

"Where is she… where is she!?" Ben groaned as he stumbled through the flames. The flames had been able to fester and grow on the inside, filling the interior of the second floor with fire. All of a sudden, Ben felt tapping on his foot. Looking down, he saw Wild scratching at his legs. "WILD!? What are you doing back in here!?" Ben yelped.

"Mom's already gone! She passed in her sleep this morning! I don't want you getting killed because of me! Come on, we gotta get out of here before the antique cars that the old owner kept upstairs blow up!" Wild shouted, scampering and bravely leaping through the flames.

Ben ran after him and scooped his feline friend up into his arms, running to the entrance while Zuma and Everest started to head inside. "IT'S GONNA BLOW, GET BACK!" Ben screamed at the pups, who turned around and started to run away before a thundering BOOM was heard.

Ben and Wild flew back, and their vision went white.
