Season 2 Episode 26: MIGHTY PUPS BARK WITH DINOSAURS PART TWO!
Rex prepared to charge forward and show this dino what he could do. As he started to run forward, the stone that he had placed in his pup pack began to shine brightly, and his paws began to glow chartreuse. "LEAVE… HER… ALONE!" Rex snarled, leaping at the T-Rex. As he jumped into the air, the anger triggered something in the strange stone. Ella realized it was a meteor shard! Rex morphed into a tyrannosaurus rex, clamping his now giant jaws down on the prehistoric lizard that dared to threaten his mate.
At first, the Bernese was elated that his back legs could move again. That happiness quickly evaporated as Rex realized in horror what he had just done. He had become a dinosaur, and he had just taken a big bite out of another living creature. Tears flooded from his eyelids as memories shot through his head. Freak! FREAK! He heard Tyson and the other bullies insult him. And now, he knew they were right.
Letting out an anguished scream, Rex stormed into the streets. He had to find his owner Tommy. "REX!" Ella yelled.
Tommy was running to the car with his wife Kat when he saw a T-Rex was in front of his car! Instinctively reacting, he leapt up and slammed his foot into the snout of the beast protectively, causing it to squawk and reel backwards. Tears flowing from its face, it stormed off out of Adventure Bay, with the Golden Retriever following right behind.
Back at the Lookout, Ben was pacing nervously as multiple calls of the dinosaurs rampaging through Adventure Bay came in, some of which were from the pups themselves. Ben had been attempting to transform, but the meteor shard in his morpher no longer seemed to work. From their experiments with SPD and Lightspeed, that meant someone else had somehow gained the chartreuse powers of the meteor. "I told you that bringing this egg home was a bad idea!" Ben groaned.
"We can argue about this later! Our pups need our help, they can't fight this!" Ryder argued.
Suddenly, Ben got an idea. "Yes, they can. PUPS, IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" Ben exclaimed, slamming the button on his pup pad.
The Mighty Meteor fragments stored within all of the pup tags activated, their armor flying out and dressing the pups in their Mighty Pup outfits. Rocky gasped as he realized what he could do. With an energy bubble, he was able to protect himself and Skye as they ran out of his pup house.
"Okay, we've managed to get out of your pup house. What now?!" Skye asked as the pterodactyl pecked at their green barrier.
Rocky wracked his brain for a plan, and his eyes fell on Tracker's toy train that he had left on the Lookout's front yard. This was an insane idea, but they were being attacked by a freaking pterodactyl! A crazy crisis called for a crazy course of action! Concentrating, Rocky formed an energy construct around himself. Previously, he had only used his powers to create tools, a tool belt, and a rocket ship. In retrospect, he had been extremely simple minded! What if his energy constructs could be ANYTHING? Focusing his energy, he drew inspiration from Tracker's toy. The form of a translucent green train now surrounded himself and Skye. "LET'S SHOW THIS DINOSAUR WHO'S BOSS, SKYE!" Rocky roared.
"You got it, brother!" Skye exclaimed as the two drove in Rocky's train construct forward and flattened the pterodactyl, hitting it head on with their vehicle and knocking it out.
As Skye activated her goggles, she gasped as she saw dinosaurs running through the town. And these weren't the peaceful grass-eating kind. These dinosaurs were carnivorous, and they were out to eat. "We gotta get to town and help the others!" Skye yipped.
Marshall was running for his life from a Utahraptor when his pup tag activated and armored up. Ordinarily, Marshall would feel self conscious about using his powers since they could be destructive and dangerous, but if he didn't stop this thing, then it would probably hurt someone else. "Time to put you in the pits!" Marshall yelled, and slammed his paws down on the road, the ancient reptile sinking into the heated up blacktop sludge.
Everest came running up. "Hey! If you're going to threaten my mate, then I think you need to chill out!" Everest shouted angrily, and took a deep breath before breathing ice all over the Utahraptor, trapping it within a massive pillar of ice and solidifying the tar that it had sunk into.
"Evvie!" Marshall cheered, giving her some affectionate licks.
Everest returned the affection with a nuzzle. "Glad you're okay! I was looking for pup treats when I heard a ton of screaming outside and my meteor shard activated! I think the whole town's being overrun with dinosaurs!" Everest told Marshall.
All of a sudden, Rocky and Skye flew up in their green train construct, which was being flown by Skye's whirlwind. "The town's under attack by dinosaurs! If we're going to stop it, we've got to work together!" Rocky announced. Everest and Marshall nodded before climbing on board the train.
"Come on, dude, just stop already!" Zuma growled as he pelted the Velociraptor with another blast of water from his paws. He had been playing "keep the dino distracted" with this velociraptor for minutes now, and he wasn't sure how much longer he could keep this up. Alex howled as he leapt into the air and unleashed a devastating blast of lightning on the raptor, electrocuting it to the point of unconsciousness since it was already soaking wet from Zuma's water blasts. "Alex dude! Thanks for the save!" Zuma cheered.
"Anytime, big bro Zoom!" Alex chuckled, giving his chocolate Labrador brother a hug.
A hiss was heard as the rest of the Velociraptor's pack came running at them. Zuma made a giant puddle on the ground and Alex used his lightning abilities to shock the rest of the pack. Rocky and the rest of the group drove up to them with their train. "All aboard the Green Glow Go Express!" Rocky shouted.
Alex and Zuma giggled. "Wocky is so cute when he's alliterative!" Zuma laughed as he climbed onto the train.
Tracker and Tuck were hiding behind a trash can from a rogue Spinosaurus in the Adventure Bay Park when Tracker had an idea. "¡Ocurrencia! I have a plan! Tuck, draw its attention!" Tracker whispered.
The Golden Retriever nodded his head and ran into the Spinosaurus's vision, causing it to begin chasing after him. While it was busy pursuing the pup, Tracker pressed his paws to the ground. Vines sprouted from the earth and started to thrash and assault the Spinosaurus before knocking it out. "Got you, señor dinosaurio!" Tracker cheered.
And elsewhere, Ella ran after the T-Rex that used to be her Bernese mountain dog boyfriend, Rex. Even after her pup tag's meteor fragment had activated and given her Mighty Pup suit, she couldn't leave Rex behind. He was scared out of his mind, and if the other pups saw him like this, they might attack him or make him even more agitated. "Leave me ALONE!" Rex screamed at her.
"NO! I'm not leaving you alone to stew in your emotions! I know you're scared, Rex, but that doesn't mean you have to give up on everyone else! You're my friend, no, you're more than my friend, and I know you feel the same way about me!" Ella told him.
"WHY!? WHY ARE YOU WILLING TO KEEP COMING AFTER ME, ELLA!? WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT ME SO MUCH!? I'M A FREAK! I USED TO BE A FREAK WITH WHEELS ON HIS LEGS. NOW I'M A FREAK THAT'S TURNED INTO A DINOSAUR! THAT'S NOT NORMAL!" Rex snarled, bellowing directly in Ella's face.
In defiance, Ela activated her Mighty Powers and grew in size so that she had the same height as Rex's tyrannosaurus form and could look him directly in the eyes. "NONE OF US IN THE PAW PATROL ARE NORMAL, REX! We drive vehicles, we have backpacks filled with gadgets, we even have superpowers! That is definitely NOT NORMAL! Ryder and Ben are teenagers! Do you have any idea what life for a human teenager is like usually?! MOST TEENAGERS DON'T LEAD A GROUP OF PUPS TO SAVE LIVES! So don't you dare talk to me about being normal!" Ella ranted.
Rex stayed silent as he took those words into consideration. "Y-yeah, I guess it isn't normal… but what will people say if you hang out with me? People outside of the Paw Patrol? What if they call you a freak? O-or a weirdo?" Rex asked, still caring about the girl that was gazing into his eyes and not wanting her to throw her future away on him.
Ella smiled as she remembered a quote. "In the words of the great Doctor Seuss: 'we are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.' I don't care what other people think about us! You shouldn't either! Because everyone's a bit of a freaky weirdo in their own special way! So let's be weird! The two of us can be freaks… TOGETHER!" Ella declared.
The girl Golden Retriever surged forward and pressed her lips to the snout of the T-Rex that was once her Bernese friend. Rex shut his eyes as he leaned into the kiss, giving it his all. Rex felt his form shrink and condense. When he opened up his eyes, he was back to being a regular pup.
"I'm back! I'm really, really back!" Rex cheered.
"Let's get you to the Lookout." Ella told him. The green train construct that Rocky and the others were piloting came up to them. They quickly hopped on the train and it drove back to the Lookout. Ben and Ryder were speaking with Tommy when the green train returned, and the pups all ran to them as their suits faded.
Ryder took the egg with him, as he, Ben, and Tommy had agreed to destroy the egg as it seemed to have brought all of the dinosaurs to Adventure Bay. "PUPS!" Ben yelled out, running to give his beloved canines a hug. All of a sudden, the egg that Ryder was carrying leapt out of his hands and onto the ground. It cracked open on its own and created a plantlike dinosaur monster!
"That's… a real monster! I knew that they were real… but I never expected to see one in Adventure Bay!" Ryder exclaimed. Tommy grimly looked at the plant-dinosaur as it roared. "I don't have my Green Ranger powers, the meteor won't let me in! I think Rex tapped into the chartreuse wavelength!" Ben groaned as he tried once again to transform, to no avail.
"The Morphin Grid only supports one kind of power at the current time. You've got the heart of a Ranger for sure, you remind me of myself when I was younger. Hand me your morpher real quick." Tommy told Ben. Ben hesitated for a moment before giving Tommy his transforming device. The paleontologist grabbed something out of his pocket and removed it, placing a coin into Ben's morpher.
"Wait… You were the original Mighty Morphin Green Ranger? And you're giving me the mantle?!" Ben gasped.
Tommy nodded his head. "We're going to need as many people as possible to fight this thing. Leading a whole team alongside your best friend reminds me of Jason and I when we were first doing this. Plus, you managed to retrieve the Dragonzord from the ocean. I think that makes you worthy of those powers." Tommy answered.
"When dinosaurs started attacking Adventure Bay, I called in some help from some dinosaur experts. But I don't know how many of them are coming-" Tommy continued, but he was cut off by the honking of a horn. "SORRY WE'RE LATE!" Someone yelled out as a Jeep drove up, with two men driving it.
They parked on the Lookout lawn and hopped out of their jeep. "So these are the dinosaur experts that you were talking about, Tommy?" Ben asked.
"Yup! I'm Tyler, and this is my best friend Koda." The driver of the Jeep introduced himself and his companion.
"Nice to… meet you." Koda shyly said.
Koda then took a step back when he saw the plant dinosaur monster. "Greenzilla!" Koda shouted.
"We'd better get to taking it down then! Dino Charger, READY!" Tyler stated as he and Koda pulled small battery like objects out of their pockets and dinosaur like guns from their belts.
"IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" All of the people and pups present shouted out before they transformed.
"MIGHTY MORPHIN GREEN DRAGON RANGER!" Ben cried out as he threw a few punches into the air and kicked forward.
"The Great Planner, Mighty Leader Crimson!" Ryder shouted as he made a peace sign.
Marshall did a tailspin and exhaled a small amount of fire from his mouth. "The Blazing Heart, Mighty Pup Red!" Marshall called out.
Chase darted in a circle around Greenzilla before taking a spot next to his dalmatian brother. "The Fleet Footed Justice, Mighty Pup Blue!" Chase stated.
Rubble put his paws together and grinned as he felt a shockwave emanate from the pushing of his paws together. "The Smashing Hammer, Mighty Pup Yellow!" Rubble growled.
Rocky smiled as he summoned a wrench and screwdriver, crossing them over his head as his paws glowed. "The Creative Mind, Mighty Pup Green!" Rocky declared.
Zuma stood up on his hind legs and spread his two paws out like a human surfer would ride a surfboard. "The Swirling Ocean, Mighty Pup Orange!" Zuma cheered.
Skye did a backflip before landing on all four paws, her wind rider wings forming around her. "The Tempestuous Gale, Mighty Pup Pink!" Skye yipped.
Ice spread across the ground at Everest's feet as she raised her head. "The Freezing Blizzard, Mighty Pup Cyan!" Everest barked.
Tracker pressed his paws to the lawn and caused flowers to sprout up around him. "The Lush Jungle, Mighty Pup Emerald!" Tracker yowled.
Tuck performed a few spinning jump kicks and shrunk before growing back to normal size. "The Smallest Hope, Mighty Pup Silver!" Tuck yelled.
Ella rocketed in size and stomped a paw on the ground, causing it to shake before she turned back to normal size. "The Gentlest Giant, Mighty Pup Gold!" Ella confidently bellowed.
Alex let out a startling war cry as electricity crackled around him. "The Blinding Thunderbolt, Mighty Pup Purple!" Alex howled.
Rex glowed as the shape of a Tyrannosaurus formed around him. "The Dinosaur's Soul, Mighty Pup Chartreuse!" Rex roared.
"FIGHTING TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT AND SAVE THE FUTURE! MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER PUPS ARE READY TO GO, GO, GO!" The twelve pups and their two owners exclaimed together in unison.
"Brachio Power! Dino Thunder Black!" Tommy declared.
"Tyrannosaurus Rex! Dino Charge… RED!" Tyler chanted as he struck a pose.
"Stegosaurus! Dino Charge… BLUE!" Koda hollered as he got into a fighting stance.
"Dinosaur Might, Ready To Fight! POWER RANGERS… DINO CHARGE!" Tyler and Koda yelled together.
The fifteen Rangers charged forward to battle the monster. Ryder flew into the air and started shooting at Greenzilla with the blaster gauntlets on his armor, while Ben, Koda, Tyler, and Tommy ran forward to directly confront the monster. Summoning their weapons, the four humans attempted to strike and slash their foe, but it retaliated with its tentacles and knocked them backwards.
"Come on, let's show this green dude some Mighty Pup Power!" Zuma declared.
"All right! Let's do it TOGETHER! Zuma, Everest, Alex! Let's show this thing that it isn't too late in the year for a winter thunderstorm!" Marshall suggested.
The orange water pup held up his paws and unleashed a stream of water from his paws, and Everest exhaled her ice breath on him, freezing him solid. Alex then blasted the monster with a full force burst of lightning. However, tentacles sprouted from the ground and broke Greenzilla free of the icy encasing that Everest and Zuma had applied. "Time to give it a thrashing! Rubble, Ella, Tuck, Tracker!" Chase commanded. Ella grew in size to maximum height, and smashed her paw into the Greenzilla which was like an ant to her. Rubble then kicked the creature in the back, and Tuck hit it in the chest with a jump kick. Tracker attacked it with plants, but Greenzilla broke free, and attacked Ella with an energy beam, causing her to shrink back to normal size.
"It looks like it's made of plants! Maybe we can burn it!" Rocky pointed out. Skye sent a whirlwind at it, and Marshall added some fire to the swirling tornado. The creature screamed as it ignited on fire and started to writhe in agony, using its burning tendrils to try and strike at the pups wildly. The canines rolled out of the way and panted.
"Let's finish this! T-Rex Supercharger!" Tyler roared, inserting another battery device into his gun and donning new armor. Then, he combined the current gun he had with a T-Rex shaped object, and fired it off at the monster, causing it to be heavily injured.
When the explosion dispersed, they saw the monster was on its knees, and struggling to get back up. "We need to combine our powers!" Chase yelped.
"I know just what to do! If this took down a pterodactyl, then I bet it'll beat that thing!" Rocky realized, and summoned his train construct that he had used before.
"Everyone put your paws on my train and lend it your energy!" Rocky shouted. The pups nodded their heads in agreement, pressing their front paws to the train and causing it to glow with every color of the rainbow. The train's whistle blew, multicolored light erupting from the chimney as it flew towards the Greenzilla. "RAINBOW RUSH!" All the pups exclaimed as the train construct smashed into Greenzilla and created a multicolored explosion, completely obliterating the monster.
"MONSTER… EXTINCT!" Koda and Tyler cheered together, and Ben pumped his fist in the air.
Ryder came back down on the ground and the five humans did a fist bump. Koda went to go and take care of the dinosaurs that had come to Adventure Bay. "So, you're telling me that there's more than just one earth!?" Rex asked Tyler excitedly.
Tyler nodded and went over to the Lookout monitor. Looking at Ryder, the spiky haired seventeen year old nodded his head in approval and gestured for him to go ahead. Tyler started to use the Lookout control room monitor to display a diagram that he was drawing. "So, the earth that you live on, is, say, Earth-One. Now, there are an infinite number of other earths out there-" Tyler began.
"What's infinite? How big is that?" Chase piped up.
Tyler chuckled. "They're pups, they've still got a lot to learn." Ben gently told the Red Ranger.
Tyler smiled and nodded his head before going back to his explanation. "Okay, so infinity is like, endless. So there's a limitless amount of different parallel universes. There's a parallel universe where, say, we were attacked by a technological virus and nearly were wiped out. I call that Earth-Two. Then there's my universe, where after we traveled back in time, we ended up making it so that dinosaurs never went extinct. So that's Earth-Three." Tyler explained.
All of the pups except for Rex, Tuck and Rocky were mind boggled by this and were still struggling to wrap their heads around this concept. Rex started to play with the miniature red tyrannosaurus that Tyler had brought with him. "So, Tyler, are you heading back to your universe?" Ben inquired.
Tyler thought about it and shrugged his head. "Yeah, but maybe I'll stick around for a day or two. Rexy seems to be having a lot of fun playing with your dog Rex. I've never seen him this friendly around other animals." Tyler commented.
"Tommy, Kat? Can I stay with the Paw Patrol for a few weeks? I don't want to go back to Angel Grove just yet." Rex asked his owners.
Kat bent down and squished Rex's face, giving him a chin scratch. "Of course you can stay here! Me and Tommy have to head back to Angel Grove though. If you start to miss us or get homesick, then feel free to call us and we'll be here as soon as we can." Kat reassured the Bernese mountain dog.
Rex let out a howl of happiness, and Ella did too.
In Adventure City, two men laughed as they walked out of a bar with a strange gun in one of their pockets. "Ruben, you and I make a perfect team! I smooth talk 'em and then you hit 'em with the ray, and we get to 'persuade' them to drop out of the race! Our plan is going perfectly!" The first man snickered.
"I know, it's amazing! The ding dong doesn't even know we're 'convincing' the other candidates to drop out of the race! But what if those mangy mongrels from Adventure Bay show up? Ain't they Hummy's sworn enemies or somethin, Butch?" Ruben asked.
"The mayor doesn't have the guts or time to handle those pooches. We'll get them out of the picture by any means necessary. First though we gotta get rid of their spies. Find that wiener mutt. Capture every canine that lives on the streets. We've come too far to have a bunch of dogs screw everything up!" Butch smirked.
"Yeah! Adventure City, Henry Humdinger, AND the PAW Patrol won't know what hit them!" Ruben cackled. The two men let out a loud hearty evil laugh as they walked into the night.
So, another season comes to a close.
This has been a truly magical journey. Over the course of season two, we've seen Marshall, Skye, Tuck, Ella, and Wild mature and grow. Marshall is no longer the clumsy pup that he is in the show, now he's a true hero with the confidence he really should have, and he's gotten with Everest. Skye created a balance between her old life and her new one, and confessed her feelings to Chase. The twins came to accept the rest of the PAW Patrol as their family and have begun relationships of their own. Wild overcame the loss of his mom and finally joined the team. In addition, the Power Rangers universe was solidified into this one.
But the story is far from over.
Season 3 won't be nearly as long, but it will be just as meaningful. Major changes to the status quo will be made, cast members will be rotated out, Chase and Ryder will have to face their toughest challenge yet as they face their past. Adventure City is calling.
