Season 3 Episode 1: Air Pups! Paw Patrol Takes To The Skies!

April 17th, 2030

Ben, Marshall, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, Everest, Tracker, Alex, Tuck, Ella, and Rex were currently at the beach. Ryder had asked them to come to the beach so that he and Chase could show them a surprise. Ben was currently flying a kite, while the rest of the pups were playing ball. Ryder walked up to them with a grin on his face and a bag on his back. "Thanks for meeting me at the beach, everyone!" Ryder greeted the rest of the group.

"Hey, where's Wild?" Tuck pointed out.

"Doesn't he want to be in on the surprise too?" Ella questioned.

"He found out about what we had planned and didn't want to be a part of it, so he's currently hanging out with Daring Danny X. The two of them are doing some motocross." Ryder explained.

"I figured that Wild and Danny would get along well. The two of them do love their bikes, and they enjoy extreme sports." Ben mused.

"Enough about our feline friend! What's the surprise?! Are we going to go kite surfing?" Rubble asked.

"Or are we playing water polo?" Skye wondered.

"OOH! Or dolphin racing!" Zuma guessed.

Ryder let out a hearty chuckle in response. "We're here for a big new surprise, pups! Not to go swimming!" Ryder answered.

"WAIT FOR ME! I'm ready for some serious swimming!" Marshall yelped as he came running up with a snorkel and scuba gear on his head and a pool floatie around his waist.

"NO SWIMMING TODAY! YES!" Rocky cheered.

Marshall's ears drooped. "Oh… then I won't need this!" Marshall grunted as he tried to get the duck floatie off of his puppy waist.

Skye and Zuma ran up to him and bit down into the floatie, trying to get it off. Their attempt made Marshall go flying into Ben, knocking him over and making him drop his kite spool. "Sorry Ben! Next time… duck!" Marshall joked, looking at the duck floatie that he was wearing.

Ben burst into laughter, petting the spotted canine on the head. "Oh, Marshall. You're hilarious." Ben chuckled.

A gust of wind caused the spool of Ben's kite to wrap around the duck floatie, and lift Marshall up into the air rapidly! "W-whoa! I-I don't like heights! RYDER! BEN! HELP!" Marshall shouted anxiously as he was forcefully dragged into the sky.

"MARSHALL!" Ben screamed as he saw his pup float higher and higher.

"I don't have my pup pack! I can't reach him!" Skye gasped in horror.

"I don't have my pup pack either, so I can't grab him with my ptera wings!" Rex bemoaned.

"Don't worry, Chase will get him!" Ryder reassured the rest of the team.

"How is Chase supposed to get him down?! His net can't reach him now!" Rocky pointed out worriedly.

"Chase isn't even here!" Rubble realized.

Ryder pulled out his pup pad and radioed the German Shepherd. "Hey Chase? It's time to make that big entrance! We need you to help out Marshall! Our fire pup has gotten caught in a kite and is flying away!" Ryder told his pup.

"Yes sir, Ryder, sir!" Chase solemnly said.

Ryder pointed to the Adventure Bay bridge. Ben squinted as he saw Chase up on top of the bridge, and his eyes widened. How did he get up there? His question was soon answered as Chase leapt off of the bridge, and his pup pack sprouted a paraglider equipped with rockets.

"Hi Chase!" Marshall happily said as he saw the police pup fly by him, then he realized that Chase was in the air with him. "WAIT, WHAT?! CHASE! YOU'RE FLYING!" Marshall cried out in shock.

His brother grabbed the kite handle that was wrapped around the duck floatie and dragged Marshall back to the ground, with Marshall and Chase ending up crashing into the beach sand. "Almost a perfect landing!" Skye chuckled as the pool floatie landed on Marshall's head, having been dislodged from the dalmatian's waist in the crash.

"Thanks, Chase! Lucky you had that cool new jetpack, or I might have flown into outer space!" Marshall joked.

"Actually, it's a flight pack. And Chase isn't the only lucky pup! I've got something for everyone!" Ryder revealed.

The pups squealed in delight as Ryder set down his bag and put a new pup pack on each of them. "These are your new pup packs, everyone! They come equipped with all of the previous tools that they had inside of them, and flight gear!" Ryder explained.

"EPIC!" The twins cheered.

"Rocky, your new jetpack lets you hover and repair things in midair. Zuma, your new pup pack doubles as a jetpack in the air, and as a turbo propeller while underwater! Rubble, your pup pack deploys a hoverboard. Marshall, we designed your air pup pack after the FLUDD in Super Mario Sunshine. It'll allow you to hover in the air with water jets, and put out fires from above! Skye, your new pup pack is a direct upgrade to your previous one. It boosts the speed of your wings, and lets you fly fast enough to almost break the sound barrier! Tuck and Ella, you guys get helicopter style pup packs. Alex, your pup pack is equipped with electrician tools to fix wiring up high, and you'll be wearing special hover shoes to float and walk on air. Everest, your wings are like Skye's old ones, but they also have a snow generator in case we need to cool something off. Tracker, your pup pack is equipped with a parachute. Rex, your pup pack was designed with the other Air Patrol packs, so the ptera wings stay the same." Ryder explained.

"AWESOME! Let's make a roll call!" Ben suggested.

After a long discussion of ideas, everyone was ready to try it. "ZERO! The Paw Patrol has evolved to greater heights! Saving one's life means saving the future! AIR PATROL... JADE!" Ben shouted.

"ONE! No job is too big, no pup is too small! Devoted to helping others and keeping the peace! AIR PATROL... CRIMSON!" Ryder yelled out.

"TWO! The deputized paws that fly and uphold the laws! AIR PATROL... BLUE!" Chase barked.

"THREE! In the darkest of days and blackest of nights, our burning spirits light the way and shine bright! AIR PATROL... RED!" Marshall cried out.

"FOUR! Leading the other pilots and flying into danger! AIR PATROL... PINK!" Skye yipped.

"FIVE! We'll fix your problems anytime and anywhere! AIR PATROL... GREEN!" Rocky chanted.

"SIX! Nothing will stop us from helping others! We're the unstoppable team! AIR PATROL... YELLOW!" Rubble exclaimed.

"SEVEN! Soaring over the ocean to reach a crisis! AIR PATROL... ORANGE!" Zuma cheered. "EIGHT! We'll brave the iciest weather to reach you in time! AIR PATROL... CYAN!" Everest declared.

"NINE! The jungle, the savannah, wherever you are, we'll lend a paw if you need it! AIR PATROL... EMERALD!" Tracker announced.

"TEN! The circuits that connect us make life worth living! Flying through the most thunderous storms for a rescue! AIR PATROL... PURPLE!" Alex howled.

"ELEVEN! Reuniting lost ones and brightening hearts! AIR PATROL... GOLD!" Tuck bellowed.

"TWELVE! The compassion of giving aid to those in need! AIR PATROL... SILVER!" Ella asserted.

"THIRTEEN! Our determination rivals that of the prehistoric dinosaurs! AIR PATROL... CHARTREUSE!" Rex roared.

"NO HEIGHT IS TOO HIGH, NO CALL IS TOO FAR! AIR PATROL, TAKE TO THE SKIES!" The two humans and twelve pups all proclaimed together in unison.

Ben pumped his fist in the air. "Pretty catchy! Good work everyone." Ben complimented them all. The pups all howled in excitement and happiness, and started to test out their flight packs. They managed to fit in about an hour of flying practice with Skye guiding them and giving them advice before the moment was interrupted by a call. Checking the caller ID, Ryder saw that it was from Carlos. Tracker's owner had taken Mandy the monkey with him on a trip with Francois and his seafaring cousin to a nearby island off the coast of the jungle for some monkey observations. Apparently Mandy had some family that lived there, according to Carlos. Ben wasn't sure how their jungle friend was able to speak monkey, but he was open minded.

"Hi, Carlos. How's the monkey business?" Ryder asked.

"Not good." Carlos grimly said.

"The eruption, it has volcano! I mean, uhh, the volcano, she has erupted! And I am up a tree with the monkeys, while my cousin is floating out to sea!" Francois frantically exclaimed.

"That's a serious emergency! Hold tight and stay calm. We'll be there soon! No volcano is too big, no pup is too small!" Ryder reassured them.

Pinging Ace, the group waited on the beach. "How are we going to get to the volcano island, Wyder? The Sea Patroller isn't finished yet!" Zuma worriedly wondered.

"I'm not done with today's surprises! Ace, bring it in for a landing!" Ryder told them, before calling their aviator ally on the pup pad.

"You got it, Ryder!" Ace answered, and the sound of propellers whirring and a jet engine were heard as an aircraft landed on the beach. "Presenting the PAW Patrol's official Vertical Takeoff And Landing vehicle, the Air Patroller!" Ryder proclaimed.

Everyone except Ryder and Ben were shocked at this new vehicle, and were very impressed. "This is so awesome!" Tuck and Ella both cheered as they climbed on board the plane.

Ben and Ryder were dressed in fancy flight suits that were meant to resemble Ranger suits. Ryder's was colored red and Ben's was colored green.

"Awesome new gear, you guys!" Ace Sorenson exclaimed from the pilot's seat. "ACE! You're here?!" Skye squealed, running up and nuzzling her owner's leg affectionately.

"Yup! The Air Patroller has been my pet project that I've been working on with the guys ever since the start of February. Good to see you all!" Ace greeted the pups.

"Thanks, everyone. This is going to be one hot rescue. The volcano on Volcano Island has erupted, leaving Carlos, Francois, and a family of monkeys stuck in a tree… and Cap'n Turbot and Mandy are floating out to sea. I need all paws on deck for this rescue!" Ryder told the group.

"CARLOS! ¡Mi mejor amigo! He's in danger!? OH NO!" Tracker gasped in horror.

"We have a lot of monkeys to find and get to safety, and the island is pretty big, so we're going to have to divide and conquer. We'll be splitting the island and tasks into sectors. Rubble, you'll be using your rig to divert the lava flow and create a trench. Marshall, you'll need to use your water cannons to cool down the lava and try to impede the flow. Everest will be doing the same with her snow dispenser. Tracker and Chase are in charge of rescuing Carlos, Francois, and the monkeys in that area. This group is going to be covering Sector A of the island." Ben began, highlighting a portion of the island on the map that the Air Patroller's monitor was showing the pups.

"Skye, Tuck, Ella, Rex, you guys are going to scout out Sector B and search for any monkeys. Alex and Rocky, you're handling Sector C. Zuma, you're going to help push Captain Turbot back to shore. All of your Air Patrol helmets have been equipped with magnification and thermal vision." Ryder finished.

"How are we supposed to get my rig there? Volcano Island is across the ocean!" Rubble pointed out. "Are we going to get awesome jets to pilot too?!" Rocky then inquired.

"We're still working on the jet modes for your vehicles. For now, only your pup packs have flight capabilities." Ben replied.

"The Air Patroller is pretty much a flying version of your PAW Patroller van! Except unlike the PAW Patroller, the Air Patroller has spare versions of your vehicles! Your rig and all the other pupmobiles are already in the unloading dock." Ace answered.

As they flew over the ocean, Volcano Island got in their sights. "If we're going to stop that lava, we have to get a move on. Rubble, you're up first!" Ace announced. "Rubble on the double!" The bulldog yelled enthusiastically as he deployed the hoverboard from his pup pack and hopped on it, the mechanisms securing his paws in place so he wouldn't fall off. Letting out an exhilarated cry, the chubby pup leapt out of the Air Patroller and started his descent to the ground.

"All right, everyone! Air Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder declared as the rest of the pups ran forward and leapt off of the air patroller, activating their flight packs and soaring through the air to their sectors.

Skye stayed behind with Ace, as Ace wanted to tell her something. "The others will look to you for advice, Skye. This isn't a usual rescue. You're the most experienced flier out of all the pups. That's why this is… your ULTIMATE FLIGHT RESCUE!" Ace revealed.

"I'm leading…? Then I'm going to step up and do my best!" Skye determinedly said, before she too hopped off of the Air Patroller.

Ryder and Ben stayed behind with Ace so they could monitor the pups.

When they started hovering above the island, Ben deployed Rubble's construction rig, a claw picking it up and opening a hatch in the bottom of the storage area before lifting the puphouse and lowering it to the ground. "Always wanted a house on the beach! But... I'll take a rig by the beach instead." Rubble joked before beginning to dig a trench for the lava.

"YOO-HOO! RUBBLE! UP HERE!" Francois shouted.

Tracker's ears perked up and they lifted up. "¡Escucha! I hear Francois! And I can hear Carlos's worried prayers that he's silently whispering to himself! We have to save him!" Tracker shouted.

Chase activated the magnification on his goggles and zoomed in on the two men. "Found them! Let's go, Tracker!" Chase exclaimed as the German Shepherd and the potcake flew to the ground by the tree where Carlos, Francois, and the monkeys were stranded.

"ARF! Cables!" Tracker barked out, and his cables shot out to the tree.

Carlos grabbed onto one of the cables, and was dragged over to his pet when Tracker retracted them. "CARLOS! I'm so happy that you're okay!" Tracker cheered, tackling his owner and giving him tons of slurps.

At the same time, Chase fired his net off from his launcher, creating a safe way for Francois and his simian friends to get down. The Frenchman hopped down and bounced off of the net, chuckling to himself. The monkeys bounced off of the net and ran off into the island forest. "Thank you for saving moi, Chase." Francois gratefully said.

"Happy to help!" Chase answered.

"GUYS!? The trench is coming too slow! I'm not going to be able to complete it in time, the lava is moving too fast!" Rubble's frantic voice came over the communications.

"Then we'd better cool it off! WATER CANNONS!" Marshall confidently said as he flew over the lava, barking out his water cannons and dousing the lava with water.

"SNOW DISPENSER!" Everest shouted out as her jetpack began to shower down snow, which quickly turned into water and rained down on the lava, solidifying it and halting the flow of the molten liquid.

"Nice job, Evvie! But I'm not sure how long it'll hold!" Marshall worriedly said as he gave the husky a high five with his paw in midair.

"Then I'm going to have to SHIFT INTO TURBO!" Rubble exclaimed, turning the key of his rig and activating Rescue Racer mode. His rig grew and so did the scoop. "Great thinking, Rubble! With your Rescue Racer, you'll be able to make the trench at a faster rate!" Ben exclaimed as Rubble started to dig out the trench at an increased speed.

"I see the monkeys! They're in my sights!" Skye shouted to the others.

"I got the momma monkey! CLAW!" Rex roared out as he swooped low to the treeline and used his claw to snatch up the oldest female monkey, who chittered gratefully at being rescued. Tuck grabbed a monkey with his paws, and Alex used his paws to scoop up another monkey.

Ella plucked up the father and soared back to the Flounder. Skye looked back and saw that there were some monkeys stranded in a tree, and it was surrounded by lava. The experienced pilot pup tried to fly in and rescue them, but the sheer heat of the lava forced her to pull back. "RYDER! Mandy and Randy are stuck in a tree, and the tree is surrounded by lava! The heat is too intense for me to get in and save them!" Skye cried out in horror.

"Then it's time for me to get on my way! Ace, take us in!" Ryder announced. Deploying their claw, they used it as something for Mandy's monkey friend to grab on, but the tree started to give way and fall, leaving Mandy in danger. Courageously, Ryder leapt out of the Air Patroller, and with his flight suit shielding him from the intense heat, he was able to grab the monkey queen before she plummeted into the lava.

They all regrouped at the Flounder, with the monkeys playing on the beach with the pups. Ben, Ryder, and Ace stood on the boat with Tracker, Carlos, Francois, and Captain Turbot while the pups enjoyed some playtime with their capuchin companions. Zuma had managed to get Captain Turbot and the treehouse back to the island's shore safely. "Thanks for the rapid rescue, everyone!" Captain Turbot sighed in relief.

"Thank the pups. They were the big help. They saved you guys and everyone." Ryder humbly said.

"If Tracker and the rest of the group hadn't shown up, we might have ended up burnt into nothing by the lava! Thanks, Ryder." Carlos thanked his friend as he gave Tracker a belly scratch.

"Well, whenever you're in trouble, just remember…" Ace chuckled.

"Oui! We will yelp for help." Francois giggled. Everyone started to laugh at that last remark.
