The Chief (Note that her appearance is taken from Carmen Sandiego: Treasures of Knowledge) is heard giving a briefing. Footage shows the Project Endgame facility in New Mexico, and footage showing the testing of the nuclear bomb.

Chief: In the year of 2000, detailed information from the Endgame Project was stolen from a military facility somewhere in New Mexico by the infamous spy known as Carmen Sandiego.

The screen transitions to footage of Afghanistan of U.S. soldiers in helicopters and combat footage.

Chief: Four years later, the Afghanistan War, al-Qaeda operatives orchestrated by Carmen attempted to steal the American-made nuclear bomb from a U.S. firebase.

Screen transitions to screen displaying some footage of mysterious plane crash and a picture of Carmen Sandiego.

Chief: Five days ago, while on a mission, we acquired intelligence that Carmen is back and plotting an attack on the world, including the United States.

Chief grabs a remote and freezes the screen with the picture of Carmen. She is seen in a conference room talking to Ivy, Zack, Chase Devineaux (note that his appearance is taken from Carmen Sandiego: Word Detective), U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card.

Chief: Carmen Sandiego. The UN Secretary General considers her to be the single greatest threat to global stability and peace.

A Secret Service agent is seen opening the blinds in the room.

Rice: Mrs. Chief, we are all aware of Carmen Sandiego. We're also aware she's more myth than fact. Personally I think she's nothing more than a national security threat.

Rice pours a cup of coffee. Ivy and Zack look at each other.

Chief: Mrs. Rice, allow me to introduce the man best suited to respond to that. He is an ACME top agent: Chase Devineaux. He's one of the few people to even come close to capturing Carmen.

The camera panned to Chase, who was sitting at the table and eating a jelly bean candy.

Card: Mr. Devineaux, why should we take this "Carmen Sandiego" threat seriously?

Chase: You don't have to, sir.

Zack: Yeah, but then a lot of innocent people are going to die and she'll take over the entire world.

Ivy nudged Zack slightly with her elbow.

Ivy: Zack!

Zack: What?

Card: (to Zack) Why do you say that?

Chase: Sir, he's right. Every time Carmen has come into play, it's shifted the balance of the international security. After thirteen years of trying to catch her, if she's still active, something big is going to happen…something that will affect the people's live in entire world.

A Secret Service agent opens the doors of the conference room and stands guard. Chase puts out his jelly bean candy as he, alongside everyone else in the room, stands at attention. U.S. President George W. Bush enters the room.

Chief: Sir.

Card: Sir.

Chase: Mr. President.

Zack: Sir.

Ivy: Mr. President.

Rice: Mr. President, allow me to introduce the agents of-

President Bush cuts her off.

Bush: (to Rice) I know their names. Who do you think approved their last mission?

Bush looks at Chase. Bush and the others sit down, while Chief remains standing.

Bush: Is the threat real?

Chief: Yes, sir. We believe it is.

Bush: (to Chase) Can you stop Carmen Sandiego?

Chase: We can, sir. I've already submitted the requisition for my team.

Rice: (to Bush) Mr. President, their requests are highly irregular, most likely illegal. If the press gets a hold-

Ivy cuts her off.

Ivy: (annoyed) What do you mean, ma'am? Do you know who we are?

Zack: Every mission we go on is illegal.

Rice: Agent Zack, plausible deniability is the backbone of our work.

Bush: Rice, we're talking about preventing an attack on the free men and women of the world. Give Mr. Devineaux whatever he wants. Ladies and gentlemen, you've been given an important task: projecting our very way of life from a great evil. There is no higher duty, there is no higher honor. And while few people will know of your struggles, rest assured the entire world will benefit. I know you won't fail us.

Screen shows footage of Carmen.

FIVE WEEKS LATER

A radio with a tape is seen running. The Chief is heard speaking to CIA Director.

Chief: This is Chief.

Director: How long until we have a lead on Carmen Sandiego?

Chief: They're about to get started. Chase's in Berlin. He should be at the safehouse soon.

Director: Do you trust him?

Chief: I'm not the one you should be asking.

Pictures and profiles of Chase's team are shown.

Chief: It's a strong group. He recruit Shadow Hawkins, Cole Gannon, even pulled some strings to get Jules Argent. We'll get Ivy and Zack soon.

Director: I'm not so sure about Julia, she and Chase have that business from before. Of course he wants her there. What about your new blood?

Chief drops a file on table with the name "Player" written on it.

Chief: Player? I thought that person back on the field. That's the new one we need to keep our eyes on.

Chase and Player are seen heading to their safehouse in Berlin.

Chase: Player, welcome to Berlin.

Chase leads Player to a house and Julia "Jules" Argent (Note her appearance is taken in Carmen Sandiego: Treasures of Knowledge) is seen waiting in the front lawn.

Name: Unknown

AKA: "Player"

Location: ACME Safehouse EK11 "The Abroad Gang"

Date: February 7, 2005

Jules knocks the door and Cole opens it.

Chase: (to Player) We've got a job to do. Jules.

Jules: Chase. Player.

The Player and the others enter the building. Jules and Cole put away their gear.

Chase: Everyone, let's get started.

The Player, Cole, Jules and Hawkins gather around to hear Chase's briefing.

Chase: There's been a surge in foreign chatter in the last 48 hours. The CIA, ACME, and the DoD are tapping their inside sources for anything substantial, but so far there's no leads on Carmen Sandiego.

Jules: ISA has come empty handed as well.

Chase: We'll have to start somewhere, so we're going back here... (points to the evidence board of Carmen Sandiego) Somalia, 1993. One of our closest encounters with her.

Cole: Some part of me always knew this mission wasn't over. Agent 13 is alive and well in the hospital.

Cole walks away from the group.

Chase: (to Hawkins) Pull up everything we've got on the attack in Mogadishu and run it past Jules. She'll cross reference it with ISA.

Jules: (to Hawkins) We're looking for code names, encrypted transmissions, Carmen's activity with the pirates - anything that could be a lead.

Hawkins: You got it.

Chase: Players, this is where you come in. Head to the evidence board. We'll retrace our steps through Mogadishu. Anything that could give us a lead on Carmen. I will fill you in on our mission and our first encounter with her.
