Season 3 Episode 14: Farewell, Adventure City!
May 18th, 2030
The pups were all packing their things from the city lookout tower Today was the day they were heading home, back to Adventure Bay! All that was left after they finished packing up their belongings was a speech and ceremony at the city plaza, where the Paw Patrol would be given the keys to the city. "I can't wait to get back home! I've missed my puphouse! The cubby holes are nice, but there's something about my puphouse that I can't quite put my paw on." Rubble exclaimed.
"The cubby holes are a lot more cramped in comparison to our puphouses." Rocky pointed out thoughtfully.
"Yup! It's harder to get into a comfortable position with Officer Bear." Chase admitted.
"Yeah, and sometimes, me and Chase cuddle together in my puphouse." Skye wistfully said.
Every pup looked at Chase and Skye before giggling. "That's adorable!" Marshall teased.
"Did you do anything more than just cuddling?" Tuck smirked.
Ella hit her brother on the head. "They're not old enough for that yet! Wait another year before you start making those kinds of jokes around them, Tuck!" Ella hissed.
The pups all laughed, though they weren't sure what Tuck and Ella meant. Their twin sibling antics never failed to make them chuckle. Tuck and Ella were the oldest pups out of the entire Paw Patrol, both ten years old. Up to a certain point, dogs would age twice as fast in terms of mental maturity. That meant the pups were all at least teenagers in terms of mental mindset, with Chase and Skye about 16 mentally. Skye had turned eight years old shortly before they went to Adventure City. Rubble had turned six earlier in the year, and Marshall had turned seven. "Dudes, I can't wait to see Captain Turbot again!" Zuma chimed in, steering the topic of the conversation back to the original subject of things they missed about home.
"Ooh yeah! I miss Mayor Goodway and Farmer Yumi and Farmer Al!" Marshall mentioned.
"I miss Mr. Porter and his totally fantastic pup safe recipes!" Rubble chuckled.
"I'm going to miss Adventure Bay." Tuck sighed.
"Me too." Ella murmured.
"Me three! But I'm glad to be staying in Adventure City. I didn't get needed much back there. Here, though, my skills as a motorcyclist are a lot more useful!" Wild remarked.
"Adventure City is my home, and there's no way I'm leaving it behind!" Liberty added.
"And wherever my pretty girl stays, I stay too!" Alex giggled, nuzzling Liberty affectionately.
"Aw, thanks, ya big fluffy wolf." Liberty snickered as she nuzzled the white wolf pup back.
"Maybe we can come to Adventure Bay sometime!" Rory suggested.
"Yeah, it'll be fun to visit you all!" Leo agreed.
"Yeah, and we could help you out with a rescue or two!" Shade added.
Ben came into the room. "Okay. Kittens, pups, it's time for the ceremony. Let's get to the town square." Ryder told them.
They stood by the podium as Kendra, the scientist who made the Cloud Catcher that Butch and Ruben used to try and destroy the city, made a speech.
"Adventure City is our home. It's up to all of us to take care of it. But once in a while, a group of heroes go above and beyond the call of duty. They look out for their neighbors before they look out for themselves. And they're so darn cute, I just want to squeeze 'em!" Kendra spoke as she made her speech.
The current mayor, a guy named Marty who used to be a reporter, came up to the podium. "It is with great honor that we present the key for Adventure City to Adventure Bay's very own Rescue Force… THE PAW PATROL!" Marty exclaimed as he gave the key to Ben and Ryder.
The two teenagers puffed their chests up with pride as the crowd gave them a round of applause. "I am very shocked by this gesture of gratitude. We won't be staying in Adventure City completely: our home, Adventure Bay, comes first and foremost. However, do not fear, as we won't be leaving Adventure City completely unsupervised. It is with great pleasure that I announce to you the creation of two entirely new groups: the Rescue Force Delta, and the Cat Pack! They will do their best to assist you citizens in times of crisis, and protect you to the best of their abilities. And if a situation becomes truly, truly dire, the entire Paw Patrol will come to help." Ben spoke into the microphone.
Liberty, Tuck, Ella, Alex, Wild, Leo, Shade, and Rory all stepped forward. "These animals are some of the finest and greatest creatures I've ever had the opportunity to get to know. They will protect you and keep you safe. Thank you for accepting us with open arms, Adventure City." Ryder continued, before the crowd applauded them.
The speech ended as the group went back to the City Lookout, and Chase went to the park to say goodbye to one last pup.
"So I guess this is our last therapy session, huh?" Chase asked Cricket.
The Goberian nodded. "Yup. I'm glad I could help you work through your trauma and issues with Adventure City. How do you feel about this place now?" Cricket asked.
Chase hesitated and tilted his head a little to think about it before giving it an honest answer. "I still don't like this place. I don't think I ever will. I've come closer to death here than I ever did in Adventure Bay. But that doesn't mean this place is evil or anything. The people and pups here are wonderful, for the most part." Chase replied.
"Good, that's very good. I'm glad to see your progress. If you ever need to see me again, like if, say, your nightmares resurface, then contact Liberty. She'll know where to find me." Cricket told him.
Chase threw his paws and front legs around Cricket in a hug. "Thank you so much, Cricket. For everything." Chase gratefully said.
Cricket gave him a boop on the snout. "Always happy to help people and pups with their problems!" Cricket said before Chase left for the Lookout.
Ben was petting the three new kitten members of the team as everyone stood in front of the groundbridge while it fired up. "Shade, Leo, Rory, don't get too crazy with your new contraptions and inventions! Make sure you get along with the others." Ben said to the Cat Pack.
"Ella, Tuck, Wild, Alex, you've all grown into amazing, mature young creatures. I know you'll make us proud here in Adventure City." Ben told them.
Ryder smiled as he, Ben, Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble, and Zuma all walked through the groundbridge back to their Adventure Bay Lookout. Ryder felt at peace with this decision. A chapter of their lives had just ended… and now they were turning the page over to a brand new chapter of it!
Jamesfan51: Liberty will not be coming to Adventure Bay with the main members of the team, as she's staying in Adventure City to be the Police Pup of Rescue Force Delta. That doesn't mean she won't be showing up in Adventure Bay for a future chapter...
Actionmoviefan: Claw and Moby will indeed be given character arcs like Sweetie, Arrby, and Gasket. Their character arcs will be much more in depth than Gasket's due to Moto Pups kind of getting cut short due to personal writing constraints and a desire to move on to other story arcs.
