Jaune Arc - Dreamscape Chapter 22, a rwby fanfic

In Vale, Jaune, Ruby, and Yang are playing at the arcade. Ruby was watching Jaune, and Yang have a go at the bike racing game, which a frustrated Yang has been trying to beat Jaune.

Yang said, "Gah! If this were reality, I would have won!"

Jaune smirked and said, "You want to bet? I've seen your bike back at your place."

Yang was surprised. She said, "You have a bike? Why didn't you ever tell me?"

Jaune replied, "I got it in the Dreamscape. It's a cool bike that uses Aura or Mana as fuel."

Yang immediately said, "Bet canceled! Nothing we get in the Dreamscape is normal! This is a fool's bet! I will surely lose!"

Jaune had a disappointed look and said, "Such a shame. I wanted to see how you'd react when I beat you."

Yang punched Jaune's arm lightly, saying, "I didn't know you were such an ass!"

Many people were looking at Jaune. They all thought he was a Faunus and wanted to mess with him, but they felt foreboding when they came close to him with such intentions. They all stirred clear of him. This, however, only account for the male. As for the female, Jaune's Kitsune Physiology is naturally seductive. They were interested in Jaune, but a glare from Ruby and Yang was a deterrent, seeing as they had weapons with them.

Ruby tugged on Yang's shirt and whispered, "Yang, does it seem like many girls are staring at Jaune?"

Yang nodded and said, "There are. Though, it is weird. I look at them, and they start getting scared and moving away."

Ruby shrugged her shoulder and cheerily said, "Welp! At least they won't disturb our outing with Jaune. To the movies next!"

Jaune heard the word movies and was in front of them in a flash, saying, "So, what are we watching?"

Yang said, "Not the new Spruce Willis movies. They suck!"

Jaune said, "Yup! I used to love them, but after training to be a Huntsman, I stopped thinking they were cool."

Ruby said, "Why don't we head to the theatre and see what is on?"

Thus, the trio headed to the theatre near them. However, the moment they came out, they were all crying.

Jaune wiped his tears, saying, "I can't believe they never made it back to her in time."

Yang blew her nose, saying, "He loved her so much that he would fight the whole world to save her. Stupid talking, Raven! If it wasn't for her, the love of his life would be alive!"

Ruby, full-blown crying, said, "The Rose he got during that one Summer was still something she held on to. It was the symbol of their love! Why did she have to die?"

Jaune said, sniffing, "We need a breather. How about we take a walk in the park?"

Ruby nodded and said, "Yeah, that's a good idea. We are meant to have fun. I don't want our time today thinking about something sad."

Yang said, "I'm cool with that. Besides, I'm not the crying type of girl. Cooling down for a bit would cheer us up a bit."

Thus, three headed to the park. Walking did help. They were getting more cheerful by the minute. However, it was getting dark, and they were in the park that couples liked going to.

Ruby asked, "What was that? I heard something in the bush."

As Ruby got closer, she recognized the sound. It was a woman moaning. She blushed and ran back to Jaune and Yang.

With a massive blush, Ruby said, "W-We need to leave! This is the park with those weird exhibitionists!"

Yang was surprised, not at the exhibitionist, but that Ruby knew what it was, saying, "Ruby! How do you know what that is?"

Ruby was caught off guard and stuttered, saying, "U-Uhm…W-What? K-Know what?"

Yang crossed her arms. This caused Ruby to run as far away from her sister. She could never know that Ruby watches those kinds of videos. She is fifteen, not five!

It took an hour of running before Yang caught Ruby. It took another hour before Yang finished questioning her sister. By then, it was already late. Jaune sent Ruby and Yang back to their house while he headed back to his house.

It was a great day, but he needed to work hard to train his magic. He still had many spells he wanted to create.

Later, in the Dreamscape, Nora, Lei, Pyrrha, and Amber were hunting monsters on the lower floors.

As for Jaune, he was much deeper. The place he was in was filled with nothing but lava. He is only capable of standing here because of his:

Ninth tail ability: Adaptation

Jaune quickly adapted to the harsh environment. Otherwise, he would have headed back to the upper floor.

Jaune said, "This place is dangerous. One wrong step, and you'd be lava fuel."

He was jumping from stone platform to stone platform. Then, a monster fish jumped from the lava and tried to eat Jaune. However, with a swipe of his tail, the fish flew, hitting a sharp stone pillar.

Jaune didn't understand. This is a deep floor. With a stat of 100 all-round, sending the fish flying should not have been easy, but it was true. He was able to kill it easily.

Jaune said, "That's the ten monsters that came at me, but they are weak…could it be that the challenge of this floor is the extreme environment? If that's the case…"

He used the [Wings of Wind] and flew to the next stairs heading down. As he thought, the extreme environment was the challenge. It was easy, only because Jaune had the [Adaptation] skill from Nine-Tails.

The next floor is the same as the previous floor. This time, however, the extreme environment is cold. After adapting, Jaune left the place for the next.

Jaune had to endure and adapt to many different environments, such as low-oxygen environment, increased gravity environment, poison mist environment, etc.

On the next floor, Jaune heard it once again, the roar of the Zombie Overlord III. As he speculated before, its roar could also empower monsters.

Jaune sighed, "Well, with my current sealed form, I can only fight that by releasing 30% of my stats from the [Loop of Binding] and using Senjutsu."

However, Jaune saw the Zombie Overlord smirk at him before going to the deeper floor.

Jaune thought, 'I knew it! Something is going on with that thing! It's almost as if it is forcing me to get stronger. For that matter, this Dreamscape is weird. Where did it come from in the first place?'

Jaune shook his head and concentrated. He had thousands of monsters on him. There was no time to be distracted.

Using Senjutsu, Jaune's hair and tail became white. His golden-slitted eyes became darker, with the Iris and the pupils' edges becoming blue.

With a swing of his tail, hordes of monsters were taken down, and the ground beneath his feet was uprooted. He ripped the monsters to shreds with his claws, with a single swipe taking dozens of them to the grave.

[Beep! You have Leveled Up!]

However, Jaune wasn't done. This was an excellent time to test out the power of the Foxfire. Lifting his head, Jaune opened his mouth and gathered energy around it. A ball of blue fire compressed in front of his mouth. He then released it in a stream of fire. The flame spread rapidly as it hit the ground, burning the monsters nearby.

With Foxfire in hand, Jaune would hurl it and burn the monsters without care. The fire danced in joy as it consumed the monsters. Once more, Jaune gathered the Foxfire in front of his mouth and fired it in a stream, but this time, he moved his head to move the fire stream, causing the fire to spread even further.

[Beep! You have Leveled Up!]

Jaune ignored the notification. He was having fun with the abilities of Nine-Tails. If there were a monster that was close to him, he would go intangible, and he would be untouchable. However, that only works if he isn't attacking.

The monster was only meant to be around thousands, but many more were coming. Jaune knew it was the doing of the Zombie Overlord III. He would gladly kill the monsters to get stronger if that was what it wanted.

It would take Jaune thirty minutes to kill all the monsters on the floor. He thought, 'For sure, that Zombie is special. Is it because of evolving three times? Or is it something else? I need to get stronger so I can confront that zombie.

Jaune saw Nora, Lei, Pyrrha, and Amber heading outside the dungeon. They were exhausted. But there was a smile on their faces.

Jaune asked out of curiosity, "What's got you girls smiling? Did something good happen?"

Nora smiled her gigawatt smile, saying, "Yeah! We are about to evolve! Only a hundred levels left!"

Jaune smiled and said, "Hey! I'm about to evolve as well. Only fifty more levels!"

Nora and the others were shocked. They were barely going to evolve, but Jaune is about to evolve again!

Nora said, "You're a monster, Jaune! However! I received a cool thing today! It was called Mjolnir! It was a ball of lightning. The introduction said, all I have to do is fuse it with my chosen weapon, and it will receive the power of Mjolnir!"

Pyrrha said, "It might not be an attack type by default, but I got something to increase my defense. It is called Akhilleus Kosmos! Something about being Noble Phantasm. I don't know what it is, but the defense is extraordinary. And it gave me a tip saying I can crush my enemies when the miniature world is deployed by simply moving forward and bashing the world toward them."

Lei said, "I got something called a breathing technique. It helps in all-around improvement when successfully cultivated. It is perfect for me, who has several shortcomings, but it would take time before it becomes useful."

Jaune looked at Amber and asked, "How about you? Did you get anything?"

Amber answered, saying, "I did. It's called Demon Hands. It allows me to produce a demon handout of a device. I can use it to grab, grapple, and bash my enemies.

Nora asked, "How about you, Jaune? Did you get anything cool?"

Jaune replied, "I don't know. I haven't checked. I only picked up all the drop items before coming here. So, give me a moment and see what I got."

Jaune saw many things in his item box labeled new. Most of them are the veggies he got before. However, there are new things, such as;

[Sapphire Grape of Invisibility: Eating this glistening grape renders you invisible for a short period, allowing you to move undetected through the world]

Amber was astonished, saying, "Damn! That's wild!"

Nora said, "Jaune, are you planning on taking over the world?"

Jaune laughed, "Ha! That's hilarious. I know your joking, but let's say it's an actual question. Hell no! That's too much hassle. I would rather take my girls adventuring rather than conquer and end up sitting at a desk to manage the world. That's lame!"

He then added, "Which reminds me. How do you girls want to head to another world for a tour?"

Lei said, "We should think about this with the others. I would like to hear their opinion."

Jaune nodded. After resting briefly, he returned to the dungeon for more hunting. He wanted to evolve faster. He wanted to fight Zombie Overlord III and find answers. He has a gut feeling that it has answers he would be shocked to hear. Whatever it was, he wanted to defeat it as soon as possible.
