Things Never Left Unsaid

Chapter Nine

On the Bridge, Stakar was running through the sensors when he felt the vibrations running through the deck plates and glanced over at his wife, the moment an urgent call came through to activate the screens on deck ten.

Thinking it was something mechanical, he did as such, and with one look took off down the deck with Aleta and several crew in tow. Joined the others, who were just standing there, in shock at the sight before them.

Peter was standing there, his eyes burst open with a harsh blue light. And there seemed to be wind whipping about around him, in combination with the vibrations below t eh deck and Stakar looked over as the armour plates on the deck and rails, started to bend and twist, even though it was impossible.

Stakar didn't know what was going on, something Aleta echoed, as he noticed Peter's face had red blood dropping down and realised that somehow, he had been hurt.

Stakar carefully stepped forward, as the wind grew stronger and started pushing him back, which caused several of his crew to lift their weapons on instinct.

instantly turned and barked, "Drop those, or I'll through you all out of an airlock", and they almost begrudgery obliged, which made him wonder what they were seeing and what Peter he.

Getting closer, not knowing what to do, but having to do something, Stakar looked down and could see the deck plating begin to tear like it was tissue paper knew if he didn't do something, the Galleon could be compromised and Stakar berated himself for screwing up so badly, but this wasn't the time for that.

He could feel his crew getting panicked at the sight of Peter, and the wind growing stronger around him. But managed to get closer to him, noticing the tears running down the boy's face, once again a visual reminder of how Stakar had screwed this all up.

Even with all the chaos Aleta moved closer to the four-year-old, concern also etched over her face, with the energy emitting from Peter whipping around her.

Peter's eyes blazed brighter as they got closer perhaps seeing them as a threat, but inch by inch they moved closer. Until Stakar managed to place a hand on Peter's shoulder and could feel the heat emitting from him like he was touching lightning.

"Peter, it's going to be ok", but all he could feel was the power Peter possessed getting stronger. Beneath his feet, the deck split some more, which would cause them to fall below, possibly killing many of them.

As if reading his mind Aleta turned and warned the crew to get back, some moved, and some didn't oblige since they were a mixture of shock and awe at the sight of a child who had this level of power.

"Peter, it's going to be ok, it's going to be ok" was all Stakar could think of to say, since this wasn't the truth, and since the light within Peter got brighter, Stakar scrambled for something.

He wondered if maybe they could stun Peter, but the face of Kraglin jumped into his mind. Stakar had promised to take care of his son and now this, he had made a colossal fuck up of epic proportions.

Since Peter was four, however, Stakar found his words and since the wind was getting stronger, said "I'll get you what you want".

The words seemed to reach Peter and Stakar felt the storm within him die down before he was suddenly pulled pack, by a fierce burst of energy, that swept across the deck, smothering his crew for a moment and running through both Stakar and Aleta's bodies

Aleta and Stakar felt their legs and stomach glow with fierce golden energy before the fury, began to die down until it was nothing, and Peter was just standing there, and the blue light in his eyes just died down, with it disappearing with a small spark of gold.

Little Peter, was scared, confused and saw all the crew standing there on the messy deck, with Stakar and Aleta looking at him, at the sight of them and the crew, even though they didn't like him, Peter's tension began to release and he screwed back his eyes, lifted his head and begun to scream in pain and fright.

Big hands grabbed him and Peter sobbed, and with the blood dripping down his nose and feet, making a mess as he sobbed "I want my daddies, I want my daddies" over and over, as if he said it more than enough, they would appear and take him away from this terrible place and this terrible crew.

However, Stakar just stroked his back, telling him it would be ok, but Peter with his wet clothes, bloody nose and foot didn't feel that and just felt sick, as Stakar just stepped away, and Peter heard admits the sobs, "Fix this instantly, you're all sworn to silence", in a tone which to Peter wasn't as serious as Daddy Yondu.

But Daddy Yondu was better, and missed the moment when someone asked "Why the hell is his blood bright red?" and received a slap on the back of the head "Don't say it, come on, let's get the done. This is going to take hours".

Walking through the deck to the med bay Peter was clearly needing since he was still sobbing to the point of hysterics.

Stakar felt pissed since this was something Yondu and Kraglin hadn't told him, but when they mentioned keeping Peter safe. What the hell were they talking about and what the hell was this child?

In the med bay, however, Peter who had, an iron grip on Stakar's jacket which had to be prised off gently, as placing the boy down for scans, made Pater curl up into a little ball crying from pain and shock.

He didn't even protest as his foot was cleaned by the medics as the surgical tape was placed on the foot, as well as one on his nose, which wasn't broken but bruised.

However, the medic was worried about infection, so Peter was passed an antibac drink with a straw which he knew. But it wasn't as nice as the one of the Elector, as the medic there put orange in it, but was too scared to mention this.

With the combination of the drink and Pater's headache, Peter began to calm down, as Aleta with a rare sign of compassion began to stoke his back like he was a baby. With the scans completed, Peter was still sobbing quietly, but it had eased off a bit and he appeared to be sleeping, but they weren't sure when the medic called the out of the room discreetly.

Able to see Peter through a pane of glass and in his gloried section, the medic, who gestured to the scans of Peter's body, they had managed to get and which revealed the heart of the centre of his core, which was showing brightly, when it then calmed down to nothing before their eyes.

Indicating Peter was more relaxed. but he hushed his voice when he realised what Peter was. After Stakar confirmed that Peter was a Terran, from a primitive world with only one natural satellite.

"Yes, I know Terrans, the Greys did some abduction on them years ago, as some sort of sick prank and some doctor wrote a book about it, had a concussion and had to try to get home recently. Affected his speech, the poor bastard",

The medic said, almost losing his train of thought. "But this, Peter's part Terran and part Celestial, a very rare type of kid. No wonder Yondu stayed independent, if this is what he's protecting".

The medic said, remembering Yondu when he was on board his ship and thought he was a stoic bastard, with a secret code of honour and didn't state he was pleased he got that right.

"So, Peter's dangerous?" asked Aleta, which made the medic not roll his eyes at the question "Under the right circumstances, a Celestial is a ticking time bomb, Peter's got abilities, probably half of the normal.

From what you saw on the deck, well he's stressed. Probably more powerful when he gets older, but what just happened, was more of a reaction to stress and fear. Four years old away from his family, stressful for the most time for a baby, and now this".

Being a medic, and patching up Ravagers, normally made you causal about everything since your job was essential, as Aleta muttered "What the hell are you going to do about this".

"Well, what you're going to do, is take care of him, give him a wash because he stinks of piss and ensure nothing else happens to him in the next few days. You know it's funny hearing about the rumours of Yondu and Kraglin having a child, bet they're really protective of him". The tone of the voice made it clear that there was no way Peter would be staying there that night.

Whilst he cleared Peter for removal from the med bay, Stakar stepped back in and carefully picked up the four-year-old, who awake from this sudden gesture, and bleary began to sob again on Stakar 's shoulder.

There were options at what to do, but leaving Peter alone wasn't going to be one of them, leaving the best choice in their quarters. On the way, Aleta got a status report for the damage.

And what would take would take to get the metal plating back to where it should be, even if they didn't know it would never look the same. For years later people did question the strange dents in those sections, but never got a good answer for it,

Carrying Peter back though, Aleta managed to bypass the crew and retrieve Peter's bag from the room they had left him in. Not feeling impressed when she saw the blood stains on the floor from Peter's nose, nor his bloody footprints as she saw the direction, he had taken to find them,

Both of them were a conflict of emotions and the small child in Stakar s arms, felt like he was carrying a ton of metal with how he was feeling, however in their domicile which was a marked difference from Yondu and Kraglin's and less welcoming.

Aleta was already there and managed to find clean fresh pyjamas, and the pad Krlaign had left. Knowing nothing about children she activated it quickly and saw there was a section for washing and bedtime.

"Peter can wash and dress himself, sometimes he needs help. We shower together to save water, and he likes being held. When it comes to bedtime, he may get scared and want to bunk in with you. My you (Yondu's) culture is the norm, but he like two bedtime stories, one in Xandarian and Darbian, the same one. Peter's leaning the latter, don't slack off.

When it comes to bedtime, if he wants to bunk in with you, it's because he needs to. We'd appreciate you both wearing clothes, and for the love of God no sex. I know you've never taken care of children, but it's disgusting…and I don't trust you"

"Kraglin clearly wrote this" Aleta muttered under her breath, before saying to her husband, "I think I'm going to drop him" they both surveyed the four-year-old who was still snivelling to himself and still stunk of piss.

Knowing what they had to do both of them stripped off their clothes and headed for the shower, which caused Peter to startle as the water cascaded over him and Stakar unused to bathing babies was holding Peter very carefully, whose sobbing had subsided to little mews.

But Peter gripped Aleta tightly, as Stakar managed to clean him, and all the dirt and debris was now falling down the drain. Standing there for a moment with Aleta, never the most maternal of women, Starker was suddenly struck by the motherly look in her eyes. She was clueless but her soft gentle whispers born out of a sense of desperation were having a soothing effect on young Peter.

Leaving the shower, Stakar grabbed the fluffiest towel they had and began to dry Peter, whilst Aleta dried herself off and got changed, and Stakar did the same, and with Peter dried went to put out some pyjamas and Peter sobbed more to himself, "I lost Fang, I want Fang".

"It's ok, we'll find him", Said Aleta quickly, whilst Stakar looked thorough the videos of his monumental easily avoidable failure, and saw Peter leaning over the rails, inches from falling himself, which make Stakar's stomach lurch, at the sight.

But saw Fang slipping from Peter's grip, and he quickly sent the location over to his crewmen, with a description to get their asses in gear and find the sadistic-looking stuffed toy, and no bitching.

With that done, Starker wondered what level of hell would happen if Fang couldn't be found, and needed to do a shit ton of work which had been neglected for the past few hours whilst dealing with this.

But that left Peter, and from the looks on Aleta's face as she settled with him on the pillow and stroked his back gently as Peter had curled up in a little ball, next to her.

Seeing something sticking out of the bag, Stakar grabbed some sort of aquatic animal and passed it to Peter hoping it would appease him. However, Peter took one look at them and whimpered "Smelly Meg, isn't Fang". But still curled up with the toy, and eventually drifted off to sleep.

However internally both of the adults in the room felt like crap, so much had happened to Peter in moments because both of them were too busy to check a sodding report his parents had written to ensure that this wouldn't happen. Talk about dropping the ball, and how the hell would they explain this? and why did they think it would be so easy, they were both leaders of their Galleon, and couldn't take care of a little boy.

Knowing that Peter was their responsibility, so hesitated to leave the room until it was sorted. Stakar and Aleta settled down next to the sleeping boy who gave the occasional sob in his sleep, and who just gripped Aleta tightly. But knowing that in the morning they had to make it right.
