Chapter Thirty-Five

My Vision

Tyroth ran out of the temple, through the long tunnel and into the main village, his eyes darted around to see if he could see any of the Chicago Knights, or their close friends to ask them to meet him.

He looked towards the direction of the canteen, then to the Rec room, then over the centre where the canals flowed.

He couldn't see any of the knights, nor his sister Amber, or even his wife Sephie the Gecko.

Narrowing his eyes and sniffing the air he soon looked to one of the tunnels that lead to the surface on the other side of the square and he saw Jake Freeman entering with Cam the Rhino and Barry the Warthog.

"Jake!" he gasped in relief.

Unaware of what was happening with Tyroth, Jake walked into the main square carrying a couple of large shopping bags whilst Cam and Barry pulled a couple of wheelbarrows with salvaged items within.

"Thanks for helping us up top Jakey Boy!" Cam said with a grin.

"Yeah!" Barry agreed "I have to say, since you came to Mutopia, things have been easier when scouring and salvaging topside!"

"Don't mention it boys!" Jake winked "Well, apart from Hugh, another human influence is needed, even if it's interacting with the humans to get what we need for down here!"

"You've been here with us for nearly ten years Jake!" Barry said, "And without you, I doubt we would have found more stuff to help down here, you could say we almost have the same equipment to equal that of the human's topside!"

Jake was about to say something else when he felt a breeze blow his hair and he turned to see Tyroth hovering before him.

"Big T?" he asked looking at the Dragon's stricken look and cocking his head to the side.

"Jake!" Tyroth said "Thank goodness, do you know where the other Knights are?"

"No?" Jake said with a shrug, "I've been topside with Cam and Barry."

"You alright Boss?" Cam asked.

"Look like you've seen a ghost, man!" Barry quipped.

"No time to explain." Tyroth said looking at Jake "Listen, Go and find the other Knights, and meet me in the Dojo as soon as possible!"

"Okay T!" Jake agreed then turned to Cam and Barry.

"Sorry Guys, duty calls!"

"Don't sweat it!" Cam said, "Mohawk and I will deal with this stuff!"

"You got it!" Barry agreed "Leona can help too, come on Horn-head!" he said leading Cam away to the side.

Jake nodded to the two Mutopians and ran off to look for the other Knights.

"I wonder what's going on?" he thought.

Meanwhile, Tyroth had found Sephie in the kid's playroom.

The Gecko had gone in to check on Freya and Loki along with Sonia as the Geckolings had finished their lessons and were now relaxing with some video games.

Even though Sonia was now a fully-fledged Knight and had been on missions with the Chicago Knights, she still had the job as full-time sitter, or as she called herself, Big sister of the Geckolings, and Pandora and Kemeko when they visited and enjoyed their company, being close in age despite her now being an adult.

All four Mutopians had jumped when Tyroth rushed in.

"Honey?" Sephie gasped.

"Uncle T?" Sonia cried going yellow in her skin colour, both in question and worry.

"Dad?" The Geckolings questioned.

"Sephie, Sonia." Tyroth said breathlessly "We need to talk, the Dojo, immediately."

Sephie and Sonia nodded, and the twins looked worried as they saw their father's demeaner.

"Stay here Freya, Loki." Sonia said, "I'll be back later!"

Sephie agreed and kissed her son and daughter before running out of the room leaving the twins confused.

After ten minutes, the Chicago Knights were gathered in the Dojo.

Jack, Sarah and Sharky had been in the rec room, Percy, Heather, Amber and Devina had been in their rooms and Kate of all people had already been in the dojo practising her whip skills.

"What's going on Big Guy?" Sharky asked in confusion.

"Why did you call us into the Dojo so suddenly?" Heather questioned.

"Has Hugh been in touch?" Percy asked.

"Or has Diablo returned?" Sarah questioned with a worried look.

"None of that!" Tyroth said quickly.

"Then what Boss?" Jack asked.

"Hold it everyone!" Sephie raised her hands "Let him speak!"

Tyroth nodded at his mate then looked to the Knights.

"I've been meditating." He said, "And in my meditation, I think I had a vision."

"A vision?!" everyone exclaimed in worry.

They always felt concerned if their Dragon leader had seen anything out of the ordinary in his mediation, especially if it meant the welfare of their home, their friends in New York, or even humanity topside.

"What did you see?" Devina asked leaning forward having knowledge of magic and visions given her supernatural abilities as a Vampire/Werewolf hybrid.

"I heard crying, then evil laughter, then the slashing of blades!" Tyroth said "I couldn't shake it off."

"Did you recognise the crying or the laughter Hon?" Sephie asked.

Tyroth lowered his head then he nodded.

"I believe I do yes, and I have no doubts, the crying was Kemeko's, and the laughter was that of the Shredder's!"

"The Shredder!?" Everyone shrieked in horror.

"No! Fuck no!" Jake stammered as the memories of that evil man came to his head and he remembered that fateful night his brother Callum was murdered by him, and how it led him to becoming Diablo the Raven.

Amber noticed his discomfort and placed her hand on his, yet the memories of when she, her mother and father were kidnapped by the Foot, and she had been tortured and experimented on and made to serve the evil clan due to Dr Arden's foul experiments.

Those still gave her nightmares, yet she never let them control her.

As Tyroth told the Knights about what he had seen, he reminded them of what they had been told years ago when Kemeko was only a baby when she first came to Mutopia, and they had been informed of what had taken place and why she was in their lives.

The Knights remembered only too well, it had been a shock, and they had feared the day would come when Kemeko would learn of her origins and how it had come to pass, as Tyroth told them how Leonardo had confided in them that he had spoken to Kemeko the truth, and now from what Tyroth had believed, something bad had happened and Shredder and the Foot were responsible.

Sephie went pale and she looked towards her mate.

"Hun? You don't think?"

Tyroth took a deep breath.

"I do hope I'm wrong, but after what I saw, I cannot let it rest, we need to get to New York!"

Kate went pale as she listened to Tyroth, and she thought of Michelangelo, and she quickly whipped out her phone and looked for her boyfriend's number.

Percy looked over and watched the Viper hold the phone to her ear.

Normally the immature grasshopper would make fun of her, but he did nothing as this was a serious situation and he knew if he made one quip, he would be for it, either by Kate or the other Knights, and this was no time to joke.

Everyone sat in silence as they watched Kate listen in on her phone, then she looked worried as she heard Michelangelo's voice message.

"Boss…" she said.

Tyroth frowned and he called Leonardo's number, and at the same time, Sonia called both Pandora and Kemeko's numbers, and Sephie did the same to Monalisa but like the Viper, they got no reply.

Sonia went yellow again, then dark blue to almost black in fear.

"Something is not right!" she exclaimed.

"Agreed!" Sephie said.

Kate bit her lip.

"Mikey." She whispered "Oh no…" she then glared "Like the boss said! We must get to New York! If he's had a vision, he must follow it!"

Everyone else agreed, and Jake nodded.

"For sure!" he said standing up, "I lost my sister once! I won't lose her like I did Callum!" he snarled.

Amber clasped his hand.

"I'll be with you Jake!" she vowed "I know how it felt! Losing a loved one! And a sibling!" she looked towards Tyroth.

"Be ready to leave in ten minutes!" he said "I'll go and check the Ninjet is in working order, if it isn't, so help me, Rattletrap's gonna be bald for a while! When I've singed his fur off!"

"Should we get James and Dahlia to join us as well?" Sarah suddenly volunteered.

Tyroth turned to the Cheetah.

"Good Idea Spots!" he said, "If anyone is injured we'll need the skills and knowledge needed!"

Sarah nodded and started to sprint off, at the same time the Knights got up and ready to gather their things needed and ready to set off.

Tyroth watched them go and he bit his lip.

"I hope my vision is wrong, but my gut tells me our friends are in trouble and we must help them!"

He felt Sephie's hand clasp his paw as well as Sonia's and he looked at his wife and his young charge and protégée.

"You've never been wrong before Uncle T!" Sonia said, her skin colour turning from dark blue to green with a hint of pink patches with confidence and trust, "You've always acted on instinct, and this is no different!"

"She's right hun!" Sephie said "We trust you, and we're going to help our friends!"

Tyroth gave a small smile and clasped the hands of his beloved mate and Sonia.

"That we will! We will save our friends and bring them to Mutopia!"

Yet at the back of his mind, he still hoped and prayed that he was wrong, but the feeling in his gut as well as in his mind told him it was not.

So Tyroth has gathered the Knights to tell them of his vision as well the feelings in his mind and gut!

Meanwhile, how are things with the Hamato Clan in New York under the grip of the Shredder? Well Tune in to find out!
