Chapter Forty-Three
We must Act!
Meanwhile Jake and Devina had flown to the street where April's shop and apartment was.
Devina landed in the back street near one of the sewer holes and after Jake slid off her back, she turned back into her human form.
Jake bit his lip nervously as he knocked on the back door a few times.
"Man, this is so worrying!" Jake said as he looked to Devina who was sniffing the air for trouble as well as watching the windows above.
"I know Jake." Devina said, "But we must warn your human friends." She then saw a light come on upstairs "And I can see they have stirred." She spoke.
Jake waited with bated breath, and he soon saw a woman's silhouette appear behind the door and it opened to reveal April looking pale and half asleep.
"Guys? Mona?" she asked then her eyes widened when she saw Jake and Devina.
"What the" as she saw the young man and vampire woman, she was alerted awake, and she opened the door fully.
"Jake? Devina?" she cried "What are you doing here?!"
"April!" Jake said, "We're sorry to disturb you so late at night, but we got a problem!"
"What is it?" April asked.
"We can't stop." Devina cut in "We just need you and your husband to get packed and come with us!"
"But why?" April asked, "Just what in the world is going on?"
Jake grunted then turned to Devina to beckon her to the door.
"Look, if you let us in, we'll explain everything, but we have to hurry!" Jake said to April and the red head let them in, yet she was still confused yet fearful as she knew that the Chicago Knights wouldn't just turn up like this, unless it was something serious.
"Okay, come in!" she said, and Jake and Devina hurried inside.
Meanwhile Tyroth who had been standing with the other Knights in the street near the Foot Headquarters felt his phone vibrate and he snatched it up to see Jake had sent a message to say he and Devina were in April and Casey's apartment and were explaining the situation and that they would join them as soon as possible.
Tyroth sighed in relief, yet he hoped they would join him and the others soon and he kept his eyes on the tower trying to watch for Heather as she flew around.
"Do you think she's spotted anything?" Sephie asked, clutching at straws.
"I don't know." Tyroth replied "She'll text if she has seen anything."
"Come on Heather!" he thought to himself desperately "Come on! Please tell me you've seen something! Or at least found something out!"
Meanwhile, Heather flew around the building, trying to make sure she wasn't seen by the cameras or through the windows, it was difficult to investigate some of the windows since they were two-way glass, and she could only see her reflection in some of them.
"Damn!" she thought to herself, "This isn't going to be easy!"
She flew around the building at least six more times until she saw one window slightly lower than the top floor, that was slightly ajar, and hope rose in her gut.
"Ah! An open window!" the Dragonfly said with glee "Maybe this might give me the chance to learn what secrets are going on!"
She slowly and gently floated towards the open window and hovered next to it.
Taking care not to be seen nor heard, she grasped hold of the drainpipe next to it so she could give her wings a rest and she listened in.
As luck would have it, Heather had landed next to a room where several ninjas were resting and socialising and from what the dragonfly mutant could hear was, they were talking about the most recent events.
The room Heather hovered outside was decorated in red and black, as well as a few portraits of notable ninjas and weapons as well as suits of Samurai armour.
Sofas and armchairs as well as soft mats filled the room as well as tables with food and drinks and the residents sat and drank, ate, and socialised amongst themselves, some spoke of the training they did as well as gossiped, yet others spoke of things Heather was keen to listen to.
Two male ninjas sat on a sofa near the window, and they talked about the events that had transpired.
"The girl has been given the chance to see the freaks she calls a family."
"Has she now?"
"She has, according to what I heard, it was her last chance to say she loved them and to say goodbye, if I know the master, he's got plans!"
At once the other ninjas who were nearby joined in the conversation, all eager to hear what their master had planned for the imprisoned Hamato Clan.
"So, what's going to happen?"
"What's the plan?"
"Well from what I heard, He's going to test the girl's loyalty, and the prisoners will be brought up to his throne room to be executed before her eyes! How he plans to kill them, I don't know, but if I know the master, it won't be pretty!"
"Sweet!"
"But three from what I heard are in Dr Arden's labs!"
"Yes, the Lizard whore, her crossbreed daughter, and the brainy one, they're under Dr Arden's control."
'Will they be executed too?"
"I don't know, but knowing the doctor, he's happy enough to work with a corpse, with or without the head!"
"But if the Master kills the Mutants before the girl, won't that have the opposite effect?"
"Without those mutants, the girl will have no choice but to stay with the Shredder, and knowing him, he can bend anyone to follow his will! I have seen what he does, and if one dares defy them, they regret it!"
That was enough for Heather to hear that the Hamato Clan were prisoners and she gasped in horror.
"No! Oh God no!" Heather thought as she felt a cold sweat form over her body "Tyroth's vison was true! The Foot have our friends! And Kemeko is Shredder's prisoner!"
She took out her phone and quickly sent a text to the dragon, then she kicked herself away from the building and flew downwards.
As that happened, a couple of ninjas who had been sitting near the window heard Heather and they went to the window to investigate.
"I'm pretty sure I heard something!" one of them said.
"Me too." The other said then shrugged "Must have been the pipes, they rattle in the wind sometimes."
Just as Tyroth received the message he saw Heather flying down to him almost like a falcon dive bombing its prey and he almost jumped out of his skin.
"Heather!" he cried.
"Boss!" Heather cried, her face pale and frightened "Your vison was true! Our friends are in there!"
"WHAT!?" everyone shouted at the same time.
Kate went pale and tears erupted from her eyes.
"No! Mikey! No!"
Sonia too felt scared as she thought of Pandora.
"Calm down everyone!" Jack quickly spoke up "Keep it together troops! If we're going to help our friends, we need to keep it together! That goes for all of you!" he glanced at all the Chicago Knights.
"Now, as we all know, just running up and bursting in is the foolish way to attack, we need to plan carefully! And with Tyroth, we can create a few diversions! If I'm not mistaken?"
He turned to the Dragon who looked up.
Tyroth was soon brought back to the memories of when he worked with the Hamato Clan to rescue his family when the Foot kidnapped them, and he had used his tactics and Dragon magic to distract the Foot to save his loved ones.
If he could do it then, he could do it again.
"You are right Jack!" he said with a glint in his eye "I can create a few distractions whilst you guys make it to the top to rescue our friends!"
"I am so ready!" Kate hissed as she readied her whip.
"But Tyroth." James spoke up "Where do you wish Dahlia and I to wait?"
Tyroth paused for a moment then he looked around then pointed up to a rooftop nearby.
"Both of you wait there until we come! Then when we return, we shall go back to where the Ninjet is parked! Just make sure you have all your equipment ready!"
"We shall do so!" Dahlia replied.
"Yes Tyroth." James added "We trust you, just, stay safe, and keep everyone else safe, please!" he added with a slight desperation in his voice.
"We will!" Tyroth promised then he turned to the Knights.
"Okay everyone, follow me!" he spread his wings and he flew ahead alone with the other Knights, leaving James and Dahlia behind to prepare their medical equipment just in case.
"I pray all goes well." Dahlia said softly.
"Me too my dear." James added placing a hand on Dahlia's shoulder in comfort "Come my dear, we must prepare the equipment."
Dahlia turned to him and nodded.
"Yes lets." She agreed.
Meanwhile at Second Time Around, April and Casey had heard Jake and Devina's story about Tyroth's vison, and they were shocked.
"You're serious?" April asked.
"No way!" Casey cried "The Big Guy gotta have it all wrong!"
"No Mr Jones!" Devina insisted "If I know the Dragon, his visions are never wrong, all his gut feelings, every time he has a bad feeling, he always turns out to be right!"
Jake nodded and was about to join in the conversation when his phone vibrated, and he took it out to read a message.
"What is it, Jake?" Devina asked, her eyes narrowing into slits.
"It's Tyroth!" Jake said "It's confirmed! Our friends are prisoners of the Foot!"
"WHAT!?" April and Casey cried together.
"No lie!" Jake reported, going pale in the face "Get packed both of you and head to the Ninjet at this area!"
He handed April and Casey a piece of paper that had the co-ordinates of where the Ninjet was parked.
"Go there and wait for us!" Jake intrusted.
'What!?" Casey shouted, "And leave you guys to fight the Foot without us?!"
"It's dangerous!" Devina argued.
"And we've faced those dangers before!" April spat "Please! Let us join you! We can help!"
Jake opened his mouth to speak but he sighed.
He knew much April and Casey cared about the turtles, and Splinter and his sister and nieces, and he didn't want to deny them the chance to help.
"Okay!" he said "You can come with us! Just make sure you follow our orders, Alright?"
April nodded, yet Casey looked rather reluctant until April gave him the serious look and he too nodded.
"I'm with you Jake!" he agreed.
Jake nodded at Casey.
"Then let's go!" he said then turned to Devina.
"Ready?" he asked.
"Ready!" Devina replied as she started to transform into her monster form.
So Heather has listened in and heard all, and now the Knights are ready to attack! Will they arrive in time? Keep checking in to find out!
