Avoiding a particularly subtle bump that had tripped him the first few times he came to UA, Izuku followed the crowd of students moving towards the exam halls. He wasn't worried about the written exams, Nezu was a ruthless teacher and had taught him more than he needed. No, the physical exam was the danger. He had no information on it, so he might excel at the test or fail miserably. Oh well, it wasn't like he could do anything now.

He was right to presume he would do fine at the writing, he was pretty confident that the mock exams Nezu gave him were for the end of the year. Now, he found himself in a lecture hall, unfortunately, next to Bakugou. However, his displeasure was ended as the lights dimmed and Hizashi Yamada, the voice hero present mic, walked onstage. His quirk altered voice rang through the room: "Hey there little listeners! Are you all excited for this rad exam?!" Silence filled the hall: "Tough crowd." The man mumbled before reverting back to his radio host attitude: "Alright, listen up cause I'm only gonna say this once. To get points in the exam you gotta destroy some robots. Each robot has a point value from 1-3, the higher the points, the tougher it is. Fina-" The energetic man was interrupted by someone raising their hand.

"I have a question." The boy's tone remained Izuku of Makoto before her awakening.

"Shoot, little listener!"

"The hand out we were given states there are 4 robots in the exam, yet you have only stated 3, if this is a mistake on UA's part then it is highly disrespectful to those of us who are taking this seriously. Speaking of-" The blue haired boy turned and pointed at Izuku: "You have been mumbling this entire time, if you are not taking this seriously I suggest you leave instead of distracting everyone here."

Izuku felt the confident side of himself that he had built up in the metaverse come to the forefront of his mind, he probably shouldn't let it out but well: "Says the guy interrupting the instructions."

A few people chukled at that, but stopped as present mic spoke: "An excellent question, there is indeed a forth robot, it's worth zero points, think of it as an obstacle. That's all I've got to say, so I'll leave you with this quote from Napoleon Bonaparte: 'True heroism consists in being superior to the ills of life.' In other words, go beyond, PLUS ULTRA!"

The mock cities still surprised Izuku, despite the countless times he has seen them over the last year. Their scale was incredibly, and UA had 10 of them! Izuku shook his head, now wasn't the time to get distracted. He was reasonably sure that he would be able to handle the robots, the real question was whether he could outpace the other students. However, he didn't get a chance to think anymore, as the gates slid open, and mic shouted: "GO! GO! GO!"

While the rest of the students failed to react, Izuku dashed towards the entrance, his thief attire appearing as he moved. With a flick of his wrist, a grappling hook attached to the gargantuan wall surrounding the city, the device sending Izuku flying above the rooftops. He glanced around the false streets, eyes locking onto a group of 5 robots.

Descending upon the machines, the boy drew his blade, sinking it into a 1 pointer's head. His other hand reached up to his mask, drawing on one of the 4 personas that dwelled within him: "Pixie!" The fairy raised her hand, delivering a blast of electricity to another 1 pointer, before returning to Izuku's soul. The emerald eyed boy slid down the robot he stood atop, withdrawing his pistol and blowing apart a 2 pointers head.

He observed the last two robots, a 1 and 3 pointer. Finalising his plan, the teen fired his grapple towards the 1 pointer, using it to fling himself past the guard of the 3 pointer. Izuku waited for a few seconds, before pouncing of the 3 pointer, causing the incoming punch of the other machine to collide with its allies, shattering the armour. Those things really were built to be destroyed.

The 1 pointer barely had time to turn around before a dark green blob crashed into it, the Slime persona toppling the robot and crushing it. The sounds of the other teenagers reached Izuku's ears, causing him to once again grapple away.

"Genbu!" The dragon turtle spat an icicle through a 2 pointer, finishing another group of machines. As Izuku was about to move to another group, the entire battlefield shook. From the far end, a gargantuan robot rose out of the ground. On the side, a giant number 0 was painted in white. The children around him began to flee from the monstrosity, but a certain noise stopped Izuku from doing the same: "Help!"

He couldn't tell quite where the person was, but they were clearly trapped underneath some of the large rubble the machine had kicked up. Before his mind could process what was happening, his legs had moved on their own. The last time this had happened he had been arrested, this time he was actually going to help someone. An unfamiliar power began to bubble up inside him, one he had only gained a day ago. Izuku recalled the warning given to him by Arséne the moment the power had finished forming within their body: 'While your body can contain this power, it cannot fully utilise it. Spread it out around your body, and do not exceed 8 percent. With our minds combined, it will be easy to maintain the concentration.'

The phantom thief's body began to spark with green lightning, Arséne appeared above him, the same energy appearing around him. His amplified strength allowed his grapple to reach the behemoth's head, in an instant the teen was atop the creature. The boy's fist met one of the machine's glowing eyes, while a blast of darkness from Arséne, one far bigger than normal, removed another optic.

Standing tall atop the head, Izuku pulled his pistol from its holster, pointing the sparking gun at the zero pointer. With a bullet far more powerful than the simple pistol should be capable of, the gargantuan robots CPU was shattered, causing it to lean backwards, and fall to the ground. As it did, Izuku felt the platform beneath him give way to the sinking feeling of a great fall.

Izuku blinked his eyes open, staring at the UA infirmary ceiling. "Ah good, you're up." An elderly lady, UA's nurse, Recovery girl, approached his bed. "You passed out while falling of the zero pointer. You got lucky, if that Uraraka girl didn't catch you, you wouldn't be here. I thought you would be less reckless in the exam then your training, but I suppose I was too optimistic. You're free to go, oh and Nezu wanted to speak to you."

"Thank you Recovery girl, sorry for causing you trouble." After making his apology, Izuku headed towards the now rather familiar office. As usual, the door opened by itself.

"Ah, there you are Midoriya. Have a seat. I'm afraid I can't tell you anything about your results, but I'm sure you know how well you did."

"Of course sir. If I'm honest I wouldn't want to know before everyone else."

"As expected of you Midoriya. Though your exam is not what I wished to speak about. As you are aware, Aizawa is the acting vice-principal of UA but to be frank, he only uses his position to expel people. As such, I'd like to offer you the position." The chimera spoke in his usual relaxed tone, despite the large implications of what he had just said.

Izuku's reaction was about what Nezu suspected, the human was forming a habit of falling off of chairs while in UA.

The door to class 1-A slid open, a certain thief wandering in, good, he was one of the first people here. Aizawa didn't appreciate tardiness. The only other person in the room was the blue haired boy who he had been rather rude to, who was approaching him. Great, he was going to get shouted at on his first day he-.

"I apologise greatly. Clearly I misjudged you. You were even able to figure out the secret behind the exam. You are a superior student to I." The boy bowed to him after his excessive apology.

"You don't need to apologise. I was really rude to you anyway. Oh, and I didn't actually know about rescue points."

"I see. Then we are even. I am Tenya Ilda, a pleasure." The taller teen extended his hand, which was taken by the wild card before him.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya, nice to meet you." Izuku smiled, it seemed he'd be able to make friends here as well.

As the time went by, more students began to enter the classroom, chatting with the others. The last to enter was a brown haired girl with finger tips that seemed to extent out to the side. She looked around, locked eyes with him and began to approach. She was interrupted however, by the loud clearing of someone's throat.

All but one member of the class jumped slightly, turning to see an exhausted man dressed in black standing within the doorway. "It took you all 8 seconds to be quiet. We can't afford to waste time like that." He reached into the sleeping bag by his feet, producing a pile of gym uniforms. "Meet me on the ball throw field. Any one who takes more than 15 minutes gets detention." With his threat made, Eraserhead left the room, the sounds of scrambling students fading as he got further away.

The class were gathered outside, their teacher scanned the group, before declaring: "You'll be doing the general fitness tests you did in junior high, except this time you'll be allowed to use your quirks." The class interrupted into cheers about the activity being fun, big mistake. "Fun, huh. You only have 3 years to be a hero, you don't have time for fun. How about this, the person who places last will be determined to have no potential, and will be expelled."

"What no way." "Are you even allowed to do that?" "How's that fair?"

The man decided to pick on the last student: "Fair? Nothing in live is fair. It's a hero's job to combat that unfairness, so show me you're capable of that. Midoriya, you placed first in the entrance exam." A shout of anger came from a certain blonde. "Stand in the circle and throw the ball. Everything's valid as long as you remain in the area."

Izuku approached the circle, catching the ball Aizawa tossed to him. The green haired teen closed his eyes, letting the power of One for All and his personas flow over him. Pixie appeared above him, the green lighting focused above her palm. Tossing the ball into the air, Izuku drew his pistol, the One for all empowerment bullet slamming into the ball at the same time as Pixie unleashed her enhanced blast.

The ball was sent flying through the air, disappearing from sight. Silence filled the field for a few seconds, before Aizawa held up his phone, upon it was displayed the message: '1264 meters'. A devilish grin spread across Shōta's face: "This is the kind of thing heroes need to handle. Show me that you can go beyond, plus ultra."

A group of individuals sat around a long table, their matching black suits being the only contrast to the stark white room that served as their meeting place.

"So, the leader of the phantom thieves has joined a hero school."

"Indeed, a rather fortunate event."

"Controlling him may prove harder than most. All Might and Nezu have both taken an interest in him."

"Damn rat, always in our way."

"Worry not, The Joker will fall into our lap eventually."

"True, though we cannot relax. The power to change a heart is not something we should let slip through our fingers."

"If he is even capable of such a thing. A calling card has not been sent in over a year."

"Regardless of if that power still exists, he will still be a great asset."

"Very well, then it is decided. Izuku Midoriya will follow our orders by the end of the year."

Authors notes:

I haven't got anything to say directly about the story, but I have had some reviews that I'll mention.

Karlos and Draconic: Thank you for the compliments.

RedBurnDragon: Pretty much a perfect description of that character (I still can't spell it).
