"DIE!" An explosion erupted from Bakugou's hand, causing the ball within it to fire into the sky. "705.2." Aizawa called out as the blonde stomped off, his anger growing. "That concludes the quirk apprehension test. Here's your results." The man held out his phone, from it came a hologram, displaying the students' scores:

Momo Yaoyorozu, Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo...

Izuku was relieved at his second place, though he felt slightly bad for the purple haired boy in last place. The boy was weeping while staring at... never mind Izuku didn't feel bad anymore.

"Oh, and I was lying about the expulsion, it was a logical ruse to make you do your best." With that bombshell, the man began to walk away, talking over his shoulder: "You're dismissed, pick up a syllabus before you leave."

Class 1-A was filled with the cacophony of noise that came with students by themselves in a classroom. It had been a few minutes since the start of their foundational heroics class. Nezu had already told Izuku who the heroics teacher was, but the teen didn't want to ruin it for everyone else.

Jiro and Shouji were the first to here the pounding footsteps barrelling through the corridors, but the rest of the class soon noticed the approaching figure. The door slammed open, through it, standing in a strange way was the number one hero: "I AM HERE! Coming through the door like a normal person!" The room erupted into various exited comments about the symbol of peace, though they went quiet as the booming man spoke again: "Today will be your first day of foundation heroics, think of it as heroing 101. The basics you'll need in the future. I'll be throwing you into the deep end today, with combat training!" Once again, the students erupted into cheers: "But before that, you need these." The man pulled a remote from his pocket, activating it, slots in the walls opened up, revealing cases within. "You submitted designs for these a few week ago, now it's time for you to try them out. You know what they say, the clothes make the pros!"

All Might had brought the group to one of the mock cities from the entrance exam, though this time the activity was rather different: "Today, you'll be completely indoor battles. Sure, the majority of the fights you see on the news are outside, but the most dastardly villains are those you find in doors. Back room deals, bank robberies, kidnappings. Those are the villains who are the most cunning."

The gargantuan man explained the exercise. They would be split into groups of two, one group would have to protect a bomb within a building, while another would try and enter the building to disarm the bomb. As All Might finished, an armoured hand shot out of the crowd: "Sir, is randomly determining the teams truly the best solution." Ilda's voice came from the Knight like suit, it remained Izuku of Ingenium's armour, he'd have to ask the boy about it sometime.

"It's probably meant to represent how heroes have to team up on the fly, sometimes you don't know who your working with." Izuku spoke up from behind Ilda, his comment receiving a thumbs up from their teacher.

"I see, I apologise for my interruption."

"No probably young Ilda. Now, line up in twos and draw a lot."

The wild card stood next to one Ochaco Uraraka, the girl he had saved during the entrance exam. They stood in front of a large warehouse, inside was a factory like setup, where their opponents, Ejirou Kirishima and Momo Yaoyorozu, were preparing.

"So, do you have a plan Midoriya? You seem a lot more experienced then I am."

"Well, we know that Yaoyorozu will be making traps, Kirishima will probably be used as bait to lure us into-" Izuku began to mutter, though seemed to come to a conclusion reasonably quickly. "Right, I think I have a plan..."

The sound of crashing glass filled the factory, the window positioned above the front door shattered, a figure wearing a black trench coat landed on the rafters. Momo smirked from her position across the large room, that was the most obvious place to enter.

Smoke canisters shot towards the masked boy, hiding the rubber shooting turrets from his gaze. The machines unleashed a volley towards the thief, yet as the smoke faded, all that was left upon the rafter was shattered glass. No matter, the girl had placed motion detectors around the room for a reason.

Her device beeped, though she did not need it to find the boy as he dropped into the centre of the warehouse. Pressing a button on her headset, Momo sent her prerecorded message to Kirishima.

With a roar that definitely was not stealthy, the red haired boy charged at Izuku, attempting to tackle him. The thief span, his body sparking green as he met the much stronger looking boy, stopping his charge. However, Izuku didn't have a teammate backing him up like Kirishima did, so was forced to jump back to avoid the incoming net.

Wait... Izuku didn't have a teammate backing him up. The device connected to the motion sensors began to beep rapidly, all the sensors within the bomb room activating. "The hero team wins!" All Might declared through the headset, leaving the black haired girl rather disappointed.

"Alright, who can tell me who the MVP of this match was?" All Might declared as the four students entered the room. Several hands raised, All Might scanned through them, before pointing towards a frog like girl, Tsuyu Asui.

"I think it's Midoriya, ribbit. He came up with the plan, and he distracted Kirishima and Yaoyorozu long enough to allow Uraraka to reach the bomb. Uraraka did well, but she couldn't have done what she did without Midoriya. Kirishima gave his position away during his charge, instead of trying to sneak up. Yaoyorozu wasn't paying enough attention to her surroundings, so didn't notice Uraraka's absence."

"Perhaps a bit cruel, but your not wrong young Asui. You all did very well considering how inexperienced you are, so don't take your loss to badly. Alright, team D your the heroes, C your the villains, follow me."

A day later, Izuku sat down within the school cafeteria, Ilda and Uraraka joining him. They just had a vote for class president, in which Momo had placed first, and he had placed second, granting him the role of Vice-president. He had helped the student council in Shujin a few times, but he felt like he had enough on his plate with Nezu's decision to make him vice-principal. He wasn't even entirely sure Nezu was allowed to give a student that roll. Of course, the chimera's response was that Izuku wasn't a student at the time.

"What do you think Midoriya?" Uraraka snapped Izuku out of his thoughts: "Ilda's totally secretly rich, right?"

"I hadn't told anyone but well, do you know Ingenium?"

"Of course, his agency is based in Tokyo, it employs 60 side kicks. I made him coffee once when I was staying there."

"I didn't want people to treat me any differently for it but, he's my older brother."

"Wow, that's so cool Ilda!" Uraraka mumbled from around her food. However, before Ilda was able to reprimand her for talking while eating, a high pitched noise rang through the room. From a speaker within the ceiling, a robotic voice called out: "Level 3 security breach. All students please calmly make your way outside."

The room erupted into chaos, a wave of students rushing to the doors, managing to drag Izuku and his friends with them. The three were slammed against the hallway's windows, Ilda's eyes narrowing at what he saw. "It's just the press! Uraraka, remove my gravity, I need to calm everyone down."

The two reached between the squeezing people, just managing to make contact. Ilda began to slowly lift of the ground, turning his head towards Izuku had he heard the boy speak: "Here Ilda, take this!" Izuku passed his blue haired friend the end of his grappling hook, causing the teen to hang above the crowd like a human kite.

"Everyone, calm down! It's just the press! You are students of UA, you should be capable of controlling yourselves!" The mass of students began to call down, processing the first year's words.

Izuku sat between Asui and Shouji, the whole class scattered around the bus. Aizawa had told them they were headed to a training facility on the far side of UA, it was built to teach rescue training. The class had been discussing quirks, which, of course, led to: "Midoriya, I tend to speak my thoughts aloud." Asui said, causing the boy's attention to shift to her: "Your quirk is weird. You've got super strength, a disappearing outfit, creatures that look like those shadow things and a gun. How is any of that related?"

"Well... I'm not really sure if I'm honest. I only got my quirk 2 years ago." The teen's who had been listening let out noises of surprise, but allowed the thief to continue: "The creatures I can summon sort of are those monsters. My body absorbs them then, replicates them, if that makes any sense."

A few of his classmates seemed to want more, but Aizawa didn't give them the chance: "We're here, everyone off the bus." In front of the bus, stood a large dome like building, upon the doors in gold letters, it was labelled: 'U.S.J'. Ahead of the building, a woman within a space suit stood.

"Oh, it's thirteen, she's my favourite hero!" Uraraka called from the back of the group, her excitement rather infectious.

"I'm glad I have a fan. As you have just heard, I am the space hero thirteen. I have one thing or maybe two. Probably three... I have a few things to say to you before we begin. A quite depressing one is that all of you could very easily kill someone. Your powers, if left unchecked could seriously harm people. That is why I built this place, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. In your previous lessons you learned how to fight with your quirks, now, you'll learn how to save people. Your powers are not meant to inflict harm. I hope you all leave here today with the understanding that you're meant to help people."

With her speech finished, Kurose led the teenagers and their teacher inside, and turned to begin explaining the building they found themselves in. Before she got the chance however, the lights in the building flickered and the doors slammed shut. From in front of the entryway came a purple mist, forming into a circle.

Creatures began to exit the portal, some resembled demons, while others seemed to be fallen angels. The monsters that came from the portal were all very different, but Izuku remembered all of them.

The last to exit the portal was not a shadow, but a human. His body was covered in severed hands, one preventing his face from being seen. His skin seemed extremely dry, and his blue hair clearly had not been cleaned in weeks.

Something about the man felt familiar to Izuku, but he couldn't quite tell what. That was, until the world around Izuku disappeared. Instead, he found himself in a dark blue void, in front of him, stood a tall man. He was young, no older than 20. His silver hair hung slightly over his grey eyes, his face donning a neutral expression. His neck was hidden by the collars of his black jacket and white shirt, the outfit seemingly a school uniform. He reached out, confusion spreading across his face.

"Nine?"

With another jarring transition, Izuku found himself back in reality, staring at the hand covered villain.

"I am Tomura Narukami, and this is my league of shadows."
