Chaos erupted at the entrance to the USJ. A wave of shadows descended on the students, the heroes in training attempting to repel the monsters. Izuku scanned the crowd, locating the specific shadow he was looking for. Leaping past various creatures, Izuku landed behind the glowing purple Bicorn.
"Slime!" The green persona wrapped itself around Izuku's fist, empowering the blow that sent the Bicorn into a group of shadows. With a single shot from his pistol, the horse like monster exploded, taking several of its allies with it.
The green haired teen carved a path back to his class, just in time for the entire group of shadows to be encased in ice. However, the structure didn't last long, the glacier turning to dust, revealing Narukami with his hand extended: "Such a destructive attack, and you call yourself a hero. If I was to do such a thing I'd be in-prisoned. That's all you heroes are, destructive pests who get to do whatever they want!" The unstable man reached towards the floor, causing the ground beneath him and class A to crumble and fall in on itself. Though the terrain did little to impede the shadows.
"Midoriya." Aizawa spoke up, while slamming a Pixie into the floor. "Is there some collective weakness these things have? We're losing ground too quickly. At this rate they'll trap us on the stairs in a few minutes."
A collective weakness. Izuku didn't have any almighty attacks, and most other large scale attacks wouldn't effect every shadow. He observed his other classmates, they seemed fatigued, but were otherwise fine. His eyes landed on Momo, her quirk was perfect for what he had in mind.
"Yaoyorozu! I need your help."
Nezu glanced at the schedule for 1-A, perfect, his vice-principal wouldn't start his activity until a few minutes from now. He had gotten distracted by a rather concerning message from the HPSC, but now he finally had time to contact Midoriya on the new tutoring schedule he had prepared for him.
The phone within his paw rang once, then twice, three times... "The number you have contacted is unavailable. Please try again at a later time." Strange, the boy always had his phone on. The chimera opened the camera feed for the USJ, only to find all the devices producing static. That was what rang alarms within the principal's mind, this combined with the break in had him on edge.
Entering another number into his phone, Nezu spoke: "Yagi, something strange is happening at the USJ, I would appreciate it if you were to investigate."
Tomura laughed at the sight in front of him. Sure, All Might wasn't here, but Sensei had said that was a bonus objective. If he was being honest, Tomura didn't get what the man was going on about when he spoke of visions within his dreams, all Tomura knew was that this Izuku brat was important, and now he had him and his stupid class cornered.
That was until he heard the screaming of his trash mobs, the creatures falling to the ground as their ears were damaged beyond repair. Looking past his minions, Tomura saw... a man with a top hat and a purple haired teen playing electric guitars? Said guitars were linked up to a gigantic set of speakers, powered by a... really stupid looking yellow haired boy.
To say it was the weirdest thing Tomura had seen was an understatement, he felt like he was in an anime right now. He didn't have long to think however, as Eraserhead made a dash towards him, attempting to grapple him.
The hero was interrupted by a warp gate appearing before him, out of which came an imposing figure. Made of metal, the figure stood over two times taller than Aizawa. Said metal was folded across its frame, as if it was paper. Upon the demon's head was a crescent moon, a star engraved on it. Izuku recognised the shadow, a Shiki-Ouji.
"Sir, get back, that things completely immune to physical attacks!" Shōta heard the thief's warning, leaping back to join his class. "Yaoyorozu's used too many lipids, so nuclear won't work..." Izuku muttered, his vision focusing on Todoroki. "If we freeze it we'll be able to hit it!" He shouted towards the cold boy, who followed his command.
Whipping his gun out of its holster, Izuku recalled the tricks taught to him by Shinya, and fired. The demon was dropped in one shot, leaving it open to be pinned by Izuku. The creature appeared rather angry, all right, he could work with that.
The door to the USJ burst open, the imposing figure of All Might entering. The sight he arrived in time for was quite strange. Izuku had a new persona, the class appeared to be extremely tired and a blue haired man was freaking out in the corner, being guarded by another man made of mist.
"Are you kidding! Now the boss shows up, after the stupid op mini-boss takes out our barbarian! Screw this! Kurogiri, take me back the menu screen, it's game over!"
"Very well Tomura, it is wise to know when to give up." Before All Might could reach the two, they had disappeared in a mass of black fog, leaving nothing behind.
"A most unfortunate result, Tomura, but this is only the first of many chances." All for One spoke into the monitor in front of him, watching as his successor continued his tantrum. "Besides, you did gain something from this experience." Tomura looked towards the camera, though said nothing: "You have learned what the boy can do, and what he cannot. Use that, and your next victory is almost achieved. Kurogiri will provide you with the new ally I have provided, I believe you will find him most useful."
Mugen shut the call off, and began to focus on the back of his mind. The visions had been alarming at first, but when they had provided him with the location of a rather interesting corpse, one that should not even be in this world, he began to take into account the information they gave.
"The boy has escaped. You should have never trusted your brat with a task so important. He has foiled me once before, do not allow it to happen again."
All for One did not necessarily know who the voice was, but he was sure it linked to his new power. Besides, it was already within his interest to eliminate Midoriya, the boy was very clearly the ninth. If only he had dealt with his little brother when he had the chance. Yu always was a nuisance.
"Zuku, wake up!" Morgana nudged the sleeping boy, who opened an eye to send an annoyed look at the cat. "It's Nezu." That got Izuku up, his teacher never called for trivial reasons. Grabbing his phone, Izuku answered the chimera.
"Good morning young Midoriya. I apologise for calling at such an hour on your day off, however there is an urgent matter I must inform you of. I recently received a request from the Hero Public Safety Commission to allow them to give you additional training."
"It's a trap, right? They want to get the leader of the Phantom Thieves within their reach."
"Excellent deduction Midoriya. It is indeed likely that they wish to manipulate you, however, they are not the kind of people to take no for an answer. There are a few ways around this situation, though all come with risks. I have forwarded the number they wished you to reply too. I'm afraid I cannot do anymore to help you. Good luck Midoriya, this is a most tricky situation."
The principal hung up, leaving Izuku and Morgana staring at the number Nezu had sent.
"I see Midoriya. Very well, have a good day." The president of the hero commission placed her phone down, an unreadable expression on her face. The rest of the board members within the room were quite, not wishing to agitate the woman. "The cheek of that brat. He said that as a high ranking member of a hero school he wasn't allowed to have any form of power within the HSPC, including any help given. We require a new strategy, he'll just continue to find loopholes within our current one."
"Perhaps we can find something within his past. Something he wouldn't want the world to know." Another board member spoke up, gaining the attention of the president.
"Yes... perhaps that would work."
A familiar opera music filled Izuku's ears, his eyes opened within the other world, though the sight was not what he was used to. The prison was now fully gone, replaced by a cylindrical tunnel. The walls were white, occasionally interrupted by V shaped windows. Seats alternated the direction they faced, blue cushions lining them. Izuku sat on one of the seats, in front of him, a seat with a table folded down in front of it, upon the seat was Igor.
Looking out of one of the windows, Izuku saw a dark blue ocean rushing by, only then did he figure out the new form of the velvet room: "A plane?"
"Indeed, it seems a long journey awaits you Midoriya, and one filled with much peril." The man pointed out one of the windows, towards the storm clouds within the sky. "You have already over came one of these threats, but now you have many questions to answer. I will provide you with an answer to one of these questions. This world is linked to your mind, but you have never truly seen it yourself." Igor gestured to his right, a door z a appearing from thin air. "Perhaps you will find an answer there."
Izuku felt rather strange, he found himself within the void that he had seen the silver haired man in. A large amount of his body was covered in the same material as the void, preventing him from moving or speaking. In front of him, appeared the silver haired man. He approached Izuku, observed him, then spoke.
"I'm surprised you have arrived here this early, nine. Then again, the unique power of the wild card changed my One for All as well." That caused surprise to Izuku, this man was the previous wild card: "Indeed I was." Oh right, they were in his head. "I am Yu Narukami, the younger brother of Mugen Narukami, and the first weirder of One for All."
