The announcement was once again played through the phone's speakers, the chimera's voice the same as it had been the last 3 times she had watched it: "UA high is happy to announce our new 'persona' training robot, designed to aid pro's with training their quirks, without crumbling from a single attack. As well as this UA-" She paused it there, as the train she sat upon came to a stop, the robotic announcer speaking: "Mustafar. This is Mustafar."
The blonde stepped off the vehicle, speed walking towards their destination. The streets were busy, the UA sports festival attracting thousands. She approached the main gates, stepping through, the sensors not picking up on her mechanical form. Waiting for her within the courtyard was the principal himself, a smile upon his face.
"Welcome, I see my message reached you. I'm most impressed, not many can evade the UA barrier, and not many posses what you do."
"I apologise for the rude entry, I am Aigis. I'm rather in a rush. I'd like to speak to the wild card who attends this school."
"I'm afraid he is unavailable as of this moment, care for some tea while you wait?"
As the last of the teens passed through the tunnel, a buzzer sounded, announcing the end of the first event. Once again, Midnight walked onto the stage, gesturing for the students to gather round, beginning her next announcement as they did: "That concludes the first event! The top 42 students from the last event will move on to the next, which will be..." A holographic screen appeared behind her, upon it was the name of the next event. "A cavalry battle! It's much like a normal cavalry battle. Everyone forms groups of two to four, and each groups has a point value."
The screen behind her changed, displaying a diagram of a team: "Your points are based on your placement last round. 42nd is 5 points, 41st is 10 and so on. The exception is first place, with a point value of 10 million points!" The entire group turned to face Izuku, a fury within their eyes. "You have 15 minutes to form your teams, anyone left over will be allocated randomly." The crowd broke out into a cacophony of voices as students attempted to find their friends.
Izuku breathed in to calm himself, the feeling of Tokoyami's legs atop him helped remind him of the situation. It was a few minutes before the start of the battle, and his team was fully formed. He stood at the front of the group, to his left stood Uraraka. To his right, was a girl who had approached them near the end of the prep time, she wanted to show off her support items. Finally, their rider was Tokoyami, Izuku figured Dark Shadow would excellent for defence.
"So, what's the plan?" Uraraka called from behind him.
"Everyone will be after the 10 million, if we can use it to distract them then we should be able to steal enough points to get through, while removing the target from our back. The question is how we should do so. Perhaps we could-" The teen drifted of into his usual muttering, by the time he was finished, Mic began to shout.
"Welcome back! After that thrilling race, it's time for the second event of today! Are you all ready for a riveting cavalry battle?" The audience roared in confirmation. "Good! Now, START!"
A clear pattern emerged in most of the teams as they turned towards team Tokoyami, advancing from all sides. "Tokoyami! The points." Izuku held his hand up, receiving the headband from his teammate.
"What's this? It looks like Midoriya is planning something!"
Izuku waited as the groups advanced, he had to time this right. When the closest team was about 30 meters away, One for All coursed to through his body, and the headband was thrown above the crowd. It didn't stay their long however, as Izuku shouted, drawing on his newest power: "Izanagi!" The bolt of lightning travelled through the sky, its path intersecting with the headband.
The stadium dropped into silence as the points disinterested, said silence was interrupted by Mic's surprise: "DID HE JUST DESTROY THE POINTS?!"
"And his tactic worked." Aizawa's ever apathetic voice brought attention back to the group, who now stood on the opposite side of the field, Tokoyami's neck adorned with headbands.
Todoroki glared towards Midoriya, raising his hand, he trapped the team in between two ice wall. His team advanced, pushing the other into a corner. "You're cornered, give up." Todoroki stated, slightly slowing his team's advice. The opposing team moved away from Shoto's ice side, at the same time, they moved into the ice's shadow.
One second, the ice held solid, the next, it was shattered as Dark Shadow burst from Tokoyami's chest, removing the obstacle. Todoroki's team's attempt to chase was cut off as Izuku summoned a new power: "Jack Frost!"
The ice demon froze the hole back into place, leaving team Todoroki within their own trap. "Only two minutes left! So far team Tokoyami is in the lead, but this could go any way!"
Izuku sighed in relief, but his rest was short lived. "You're done now you shitty nerd!" Bakugou propelled himself towards the team, though he was forced to dodge a net from Hatsume. He continued his dash, flipping over Dark Shadow.
His shout of victory gave way to a shout of pain as a force hit his stomach, a weightless Izuku sending him flying back to his team. "And that's its folks! In first place, despite destroying their points at the very start, TEAM TOKOYAMI!"
"We'll be taking a break before the final round." Aizawa spoke. "Oh, and can Izuku Midoriya report to the principal's office."
"Ah there you are Midoriya." The cheerful principal spoke while gesturing to the only empty chair within the room, which Izuku took. "You have a guest, one who shares something with you."
The girl next to him extended her hand, which he took, it was strangely cold, and the skin was an unnatural texture. "I am Aigis, a pleasure to meet you."
"Izuku Midoriya, I suppose this is related to the shadows." The second part of his statement was directed towards Nezu, who simply nodded.
"There is no simple way to put this, so I will show you." The girl reached into her pocket, pulled out a gun and placed it to her head. "Pixie!" The shot rang through the room, though the girl was not injured, instead, a familiar figure floated above her.
Izuku sighed, his life was complex enough already.
