Chapter 4
Sansa Stark POV
I'm having a lot of fun at camp, it's been a really interesting experience so far. I'm taking a break to call my mom and maybe talk to Arya, I've only been able to text them a little bit.
I sit outside during lunch and give my mom's phone a call. "Hello?" She says. "Sansa?"
"Hi, mom," I say. "I just wanted to say hi, I didn't want you to worry that I haven't been calling."
"It's fine, you've been texting. How are things going over there?"
"I'm having a lot of fun," I say. "We've done a couple test photoshoots and talked to some people in the industry."
"Have you been enjoying it."
"I really have," I say. "Thank you for letting me do it."
"I'm glad you are," my mom says. "I'm glad you're having fun, but I miss you."
"I miss you too," I say. "Is Arya there? Can I talk to her?"
"Sure." I hear rustling as she gets Arya to come to the phone.
"Sansa?" Arya says. "How is camp?"
"It's a lot of fun," I say. "How are things over there?"
"Pretty good, I guess." She sounds a little unsure when she says that.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah," she says. "Just been thinking about some things, don't worry about me. It's nothing bad, really."
"Okay," I say. "You know you can text me if you need anything."
"I know," she says. "Have fun at the rest of camp."
We get off the phone. I hope everything is truly okay with her, but I understand why she doesn't want to put that on me right now. I am having fun here, so I'll talk to her about it after I get home.
We're supposed to have a mock runway show at the end of camp, and my parents are coming to that as far as I know. I'm really excited for that, it's supposed to be the best part. I'm glad I'm here, I finally feel like I'm in a good place in life.
Daenerys Targaryen POV
I'm hanging out with Cersei today at her place, it's been a while since I've seen her dad or even Tyrion. Tyrion likes to be out of the house as much as he can during breaks, and I don't blame him. I'm surprised he came back at all with everything that he's been through with his father, he's still mad at him for the whole situation with Shae.
Cersei and I are sitting outside, she's smoking a cigarette. "I didn't realize you started smoking," I say. "I've never seen you do that before."
"I didn't until last week," Cersei says. "I don't love it, but it calms me down when I can't drink."
"Why can't you drink?" I ask. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she's not drinking, but nothing's ever stopped her before.
"I promised Jaime I wouldn't drink until after sundown this summer when we aren't partying or on vacation." That must be hard for her, even though that's what most normal people do.
"Do you want a drag?" She asks me.
"No," I say, shaking my head. "Jon would kill me if I did that."
She rolls her eyes. "Whatever," she says. "Of course you care more about what he thinks."
"I don't want to anyway, it smells gross. It's not jist about him."
"Whatever," she says. We sit in silence as she smokes a little more. "So have you guys found a place yet?"
"No, we've just looked at one," I say. "I'm hoping for at least a one-bedroom."
Cersei pauses. "As opposed to what?"
"A studio," I say. "That's the only place we've looked at."
"You'd rather live in a tiny shoebox with him than stay in our place?"
"Cersei, come on," I say. "You know it isn't about that. I want to get more serious with him."
"I'll just miss you," she says. "And you can't forget about me."
"I told you I won't," I say. "We'll all hang out together, I'll still be near you guys."
"We better."
We go inside. I'm glad Cersei is more open to us all hanging out together, but I'm not sure how Jon will feel about that. I also doubt she'll stick to her drinking rule this summer, I'm surprised she's even entertaining it for Jaime. I'm still glad I'm taking this step with Jon, no matter what Cersei thinks.
Cersei Lannister POV
I don't love being home, it feels like I'm in high school again. I have to put up with Tyrion and my dad, and I still have to follow their rules. My friends try to parent me, but at least I can still do what I want in my own place.
My dad walks into the living room where I'm sitting with Dany, Jaime and Tyrion. "Kids," he says to us, even though we're all adults. "I'm going out of town in two weeks for a lawyer conference. I'll probably be gone for a few days."
"Whatever," I say. "Why are you bringing this up?"
"Just so you know where I'm going," he says. "I thought I should keep you updated."
Jaime laughs. "You never cared before," he says. "Why now?"
"Just don't tear the house up," my dad says. "I don't have to let you guys stay here now that you're adults." He leaves the room.
"You know what we should do?" I ask. Jaime and Dany look at me. "We should throw a huge rager this summer, go all out like when we were in high school."
"You really want to do that?" Dany asks.
"Yeah," I say. "Father just said he's going out of town, why not?"
"Seems like a lot of work," Jaime says. "Would we invite the whole high school gang?"
"Yeah," I say. "It'll be just like old times."
"I'm down for that," Tyrion says. "Just don't invite Shae or Ros, they still hang out with each other."
"I wouldn't," I say. "I only tolerated either of those whores for you." Dany gives me a look, but I don't back down because it's true. I only was ever remotely nice to Shae because Tyrion claimed to love her so much.
"I have to go," Jaime says, walking up to me and giving me a hug while I'm sitting. "I'm going to meet the boys."
"Which boys?" Dany asks.
"Theon and Ramsay," Jaime says. "I haven't been able to hang out with them in a while." He gives me a kiss and we both pause after we realize. Luckily Dany and Tyrion either didn't notice or pretended not to notice and didn't say anything.
"You still hang out with Ramsay?" Dany asks.
"I mean, not regularly," Jaime says. "I want to catch up with him, we still talk sometimes."
"Why would you still want to see him after everything he did to Sansa?" Dany asks.
"You're the one who's close to Sansa, not me," Jaime says. "I'm allowed to have friends. I'll let them know about the party and see if they're down for it." He walks out the door and Dany rolls her eyes.
"I forget Jaime can be inconsiderate," Dany says, and I give her a look. "Come on, you know I'm right. He can be a little self-serving."
"He means well," Tyrion says. "But yeah, he can sometimes lose sight of how his actions and words affect others."
"No one asked you," I say to Tyrion. "Jaime's right, though. He's allowed to have friends."
"I just can't imagine still associating with someone like that," Dany says. "But that's just me."
I hate how she acts like she thinks she's better than me. She won't admit it, but I know she thinks that. Jaime's right, he can't cut everyone out that's done a bad thing. If he did, none of us would be in each other's lives.
I'm glad he's down to throw a party, I think it'll actually be a lot of fun. It'll be a nice throwback to all the legendary Lannister parties we threw, and it'll be nice to catch up with everyone that we haven't seen in a while.
Jaime Lannister POV
It's not that I'm not down to throw a party, I'm fine with that idea. I just don't want to have any more drama than I've already recently had. It'll be fun to get the high school gang back together, but we rarely can have a party without any shit going down.
I head out to meet Ramsay and Theon like I planned, it'll be nice to see them since we haven't hung out in a while. They went to different schools, but from what I understand they still hang out a lot during breaks.
I knock on Ramsay's door and his dogs start going crazy. I remember now that he has like 5 dogs, and when he opens the door they all start jumping on me.
"Jaime!" Ramsay yells when he sees me. "Long time no see!" He grabs two of the dogs and leads them outside, the others follow and start running around the backyard which gives Ramsay a chance to shut the door.
"Where's Theon?" I ask.
"He's in my room," Ramsay says. "We're playing video games."
We walk into his room, and Theon is there sitting in a gaming chair. "Hey, Theon," I say. "How's it going? It's been a while since we've hung out." I sit on Ramsay's bed and they keep playing their video games.
"So you're living with Dany now?" Theon asks me after an awkward silence, I never expected hanging out with high school friends after leaving high school to be as awkward as it is.
"Yeah," I say. "And Cersei, we're all roommates."
"You guys still going strong?" Ramsay asks, chuckling. I know what he means, and it's not funny.
"Shut up," I say. "What have you guys been up to?"
"I'm actually taking a summer class at the community college," Theon says. "Oh, the weirdest thing happened."
"What's that?" I ask.
"Coach Tarth is in my class," he says. "I guess she's trying to get more credits under her belt to prepare for a Master's program or something, at least that's what she told me."
"That's so weird," I say. "She was basically one of our teachers."
"She's actually not that much older than us," Theon says. "I think she's like 25."
"Oh that is young," Ramsay says. "I wouldn't have kicked her out of bed."
I make a gagging noise. "You're so gross, dude," I say. "What is wrong with you?"
"Listen, I'm just saying."
"Are you still dating Myranda?" I ask Ramsay.
"Ew, no," he says. "She's always been psycho, I dumped her ass when I got to college." I guess that's good to hear, she was kinda crazy.
"Oh, by the way," I say. "Cersei wants to throw a party in a couple weeks when our dad is out of town and get some people from high school back together, would you guys be down for that?"
"Totally," Ramsay says. "Sounds like a lot of fun, there's a few girls from high school I'd like to check off the list."
Ew, he's nasty. He can be funny sometimes and not that bad, but other times he can just be a sicko. I don't have many other high school friends to hang out with, so they aren't the worst option. Theon's normal, but I'm not sure why he still constantly hangs out with Ramsay with the way he treats him, at least he's never been that bad to me.
