For a solid hour, absolutely nothing happened. Lucy quietly chatted with Cobra, who talked back while occasionally sipping his tea. He stayed standing but leaned against one of the walls to the left so he could still meet Lucy's eyes. They talked about the stuff they normally did at the guild, but being alone in the bare room birthed a strange intimacy that made Cobra's mouth dry up as the tea ran out. Lucy, he thought, didn't act any differently than before, which only made Cobra feel all the odder.
So then, without so much as a warning, the lacrima suddenly rang out with a voice. "H-Hello? Is anyone there?" The two of them jumped, Lucy straightening herself in the chair and clearing her throat.
"Y-Yes. This is I, uh, Doctor Love-It?"
"Oh! It really is you!" The stranger on the other end's voice perked up at Lucy's call. Cobra stepped closer, although not so much that he would be shown on the lacrima. Mira apparently only wanted one of them visible if they could help it, to enforce the idea of just one "doctor", which more than worked out for him. Lucy turned around to look at Cobra and gave an awkward smile. He took a breath and closed his eye.
The person on the other side...he tuned in his magic to listen in on their thoughts. It didn't take long for a torrent to come rushing in.
Oh man oh man oh man! A real love doctor! A genius in love! Only he can help me now!
From the sound of it...this person, a guy by Cobra's fair estimate, really believed in the power of a love doctor. He couldn't tell if he should feel more sorry for him or for Lucy right now.
