Here's the next chapter!
?: Wake Up!
Linka:*Groaning*
?: Ohhh...Do wake up, won't you!
(Linka wakes up)
?: Are you alive, my girl?
(Linka sees an echidna, an owl, and an otter in front of her.)
Linka: (get up on her feet) Uhhh...what hit me?
(Linka sees a man with a lavender beanie cap and labcoat)
Man: You gave me quite the shock, falling from the sky like that. But thank goodness you seemed unharmed.
Linka: Where am I?
Man: Why this is Prelude Beach, of course. Dear me, did the shock of your fall somehow addle your memory? (Looks at Linka) I must say your clothing is...unusual. You wouldn't happen to have an acquaintance in these parts would you?
Linka: I doubt it
Man: I see...you seem to be in a bit of a pickle. Might I offer some directions? Do you have somewhere around here you could stay?
Linka: I don't know...
Man: So you don't know anyone here, and you don't even know where to spend the night...Well this is quit the proper pickle indeed...Are you quite sure you'll be able to survive?
Linka: Somehow, I guess...
Man: I see...Well, no gentleman would abandon such a person in need.
Owl: Rowl!
Echidna: Cyn!
Otter: Osha!
Man: Oh my! I've completely forgotten! I had just caught up with these three runaway Pokemon when you tumbled out of the sky. It's almost they knew you'll appear here. Ah, but do you even know what a Pokemon is?
Linka: I'm afraid not.
Man: You...you don't? You truly have traveled a long way, haven't you? Well! These three here are what we call Pokémon. Very mysterious creatures, you see. Marvelous.
Linka: Linka, Linka Loud.
Man: Oh! So you're called Linka! That name has quite the ring to it! I imaging it must have some lovely meaning. (then realizes) Oh! but do apologize! I have even introduced myself! My name is Laventon. I am something of a Pokemon Professor. That is to say, I'm a scholar seeking to deepen out understanding of pokemon. Yes pokemon such as these three here whi-
(The pokemon then started wandering away.)
Laventon: Oh, blast and bother! my darling pokemon! Why must you run from me again?! (turns to Linka) I'm terribly sorry, could you help me round them up? I beg you! (Chases the three pokemon) Wait you three, Waiiit!
Linka: (Goes after them) Laventon! There's something I must tell you! Huh? (She finds the phone from before on ground. and picks it up) It's the phone...or my phone i suppose...
(a message appears on the phone)
Linka: (Reads message) I bestow upon thee this arc phone and thye mission: Seek out all pokemon. (Linka put the phone in her pocket) Well if that's the case, I better help that guy with those three pokemon.
(Linka finds Laventon, seeing him look sad.)
Laventon: *sigh* Alas... Yet another miss!
Linka: Something wrong?
Laventon: Aha! I'm glad you've come to my rescue, my new friend from the sky! I tried catching my little runaways by tossing some pokeball their way, but I'm not the best at this sort of thing, you see...*smiles* I'd love to give you a go at it, but perhaps i should tell you a bit about these three first?
(Linka and Laventon look at the owl which is colored sand, with what appeared to have a green bow tie.)
Laventon: Now that one is Rowlet! Rowlet can photosynthesize like a plant, and apparently it battles with its sharp feathers.
Rowlet: Rowl!
(Linka and Laventon look at the echidna with a blue streak on its top and had fiery quills)
Laventon: That one over their is Cyndaquil! The fire burning on Cyndaquil's back will flare up whenever it's surprised or irate.
Cyndaquill: Quill!
(Linka and Laventon look at the otter with a white head, freckles, a blue body, and carries and shell.)
Laventon: The pokemon near the pond is Oshawott. Oshawott naps while floating on water, and it can battle using the shell-like object on its belly!
Oshawott: Osha!
Laventon: Oh my! I nearly forgot to cover the most crucial thing how to go about catching a pokemon! (Gives Linka lots pokeballs) Here you are, my girl: Pokeballs! Throw them at the pokemon to catch them.
Linka: How am I supposed to catch them with these?
Laventon: Ah, but that won't do for an explanation, will it? I do apologize. Let me be more thorough. Now, I've mentioned already that Pokémon are strange, marvelous creatures.
Linka: What's so strange about them?
Laventon: Well, each and every Pokémon is able to shrink itself down to minuscule size! And that's where Poké Balls come in! Poké Balls are a recent invention, you see. Throw one of them at a Pokémon, and... why, the Pokémon will shrink down and fit inside the ball, comfy as can be. And with that, you've caught a Pokémon!"
Laventon: I know we've just met, but I'm afraid I've no one else to turn to. I'd be awfully grateful if you could catch my three runaways!
Linka: Alright, I'll help you catch them.
(Linka starts with Cyndaquill)
Linka: Time to put those baseball skills Lynn taught me to use! Alright I just imagine Cyndaqill as the batter (In her announcer voice.) Linka's at pitch, she needs three out to win the game, she throws the ball and...(throws pokeball at cyndaqill, capturing the pokemon) Strike!
Laventon: Oh, wonderful! You've caught a Pokémon! It seems you've quite the knack for this Pokémon- catching business, Linka! Jolly useful skill to have around here.
(Linka smiles)
Laventon: Only two of my darling runaways left now. Still, this is most unusual. You don't seem fearful of Pokémon in the slightest...
Linka: Alright, I'll catch Oshawott next.
(Linka walks onto the pond.)
Linka: (In her announcer voice.) Linka's at pitch, she eyes the umpire, makes the throw and...(Linka throws a pokeball at Oshawott, capturing the pokemon) they're out!
Laventon: I can hardly believe it, Linka! Incredible! You know, many people fear to even approach Pokémon—never mind catch them. Bravo, indeed! Just one more to go. Let's wrap this up sharpish, shall we?
Linka: Of course! (Walks toward Rowlet) (In her announcer voice.) Alright. Last batter on base, Linka makes the throw. (Throws Pokeball) And the batter's (Rowlet breaks from pokeball, causing her to change her sentence) ...ball?
Laventon: Ah yes, I'm afraid that can happen... Poké Balls are hardly 100 percent foolproof. Give it another go, old girl!
Linka: Alright, (In her announcer voice.) Batter has 1 ball, Linka makes the throw and...(tries again and Rowlet is caputred this time) Three outs! Linka wins the game!
Laventon: Thank you very much, indeed! Oh, what a relief to have them all back. You see, the three Pokémon you caught have only just arrived at the village to help with our research. They won't yet listen to anyone.
Linka: You're welcome Laventon.
Laventon: And as I mentioned, they bolted from the village almost as if they knew you'd come falling... But I must say, Linka, I was taken aback by how well you use Poké Balls! How is it that you catch Pokémon so ably when you've only just arrived here?
Linka: Well, one of my brothers is a sports lover, So i know a thing or two about throwing.
Laventon: One can't help but think there's a reason you appeared here and now...
(Suddenly Linka's phone started ringing,)
Linka: Oh! I have a message here.
Laventon: (looks at Linka's phone.) "Seek out all Pokémon"...
Linka: Arceus gave it to me, I think I'll call it...an Arc phone.
Laventon: That object is an "Arc Phone," you say...? What an odd device. Could it be...guiding you somehow?
Linka: Yeah, that's what I hope.
Laventon: If you'll indulge me for a moment, there's something I'd like to share with you. You see, I have a dream—to compile this region's first complete record of its Pokémon!
Linka: Cool.
Laventon: We in the field call such a catalog a Pokédex. Yes, a proper Pokédex is a wonderful work of research, containing detailed records of all the Pokémon to be found in a region! But...in order to properly document Pokémon, one must, of course, catch them.
(Laventon looks down)
Laventon: And therein lies the rub, I'm afraid. Poké Balls have only just been invented, and not many have mastered the skill of using them. (Looks at Linka) Enter you—a person with a clear talent for catching Pokémon!
(Linka smiles)
Laventon: Your goal is to seek out every Pokémon, and mine is to have all those Pokémon caught. A situation ripe for teamwork, don't you agree?
Linka: Yeah, Afterall someone told me to I should catch all the pokemon.
Laventon: Come now! What do you say? Shall we help one another out, my girl?
Linka: If it means finding my brothers, then yes, I'll help you.
Laventon: Then whoever and from wherever you may be, I welcome you with open arms! We've a Pokédex to complete!
Linka: Alright! Let's catch em all!
Laventon: First things first—let's get these Pokémon back to the village! Then we'll sort out your lodgings and find you some proper clothes and a meal and all that. (Starts Walking) Follow me, then! Onward to Jubilife Village!
(Linka and Laventon walk to a village. They some across a gate guarded by two people)
Laventon: Thank you for your tireless work keeping us safe, my good guardsmen! This young lady was of great assistance to me and my Pokémon, so I hope you'll forgive my bringing her into the village for a bit!
(The guards wave at the two)
Laventon: So Linka, tell me about your brothers.
Linka: Oh yeah, I have 10 of them, and they vanished with me after I left my world.
Laventon: (Suprised) 10 brothers?! My, that's about a twelfth of the total population of of Jubilife Village!
Linka: I'm guessing it's a pretty small town huh?
(As Linka and Laventon walk, some people comment on how strange Linka's clothes looked. they walked until they came to a large building cross a bridge.)
Laventon: Now, that impressive building up ahead of us is Galaxy Hall—headquarters for this entire outfit! Oh botheration! I'd almost forgotten! I need to go and report that we successfully recovered the escaped Pokémon! Might I ask you to wait for me at the canteen?
Linka: Sure thing, where's that?
Laventon: (Points to building on the left) It's just past this bridge here, then to the left. The Wallflower, it's called!
(Laventon heads to the Galaxy Hall-headquarters while Linka explores the village a bit)
Linka: Hey! How you doing?
Villager 1: You don't look like you're from around here.
Villager 2: Where you get those clothes?
Villager 3: You seem nice.
Linka: Guys! One at a time!
(As Linka talks to the locals and explores the village, she decides to head to the canteen. The owner has a green mustache and a white beard.)
Beni: Well now, aren't you awfully suspicious?
Linka: Yeah, well Laventon told me i should wait here.
Beni: The Wallflower's for Galaxy Team folk only. We don't have seats for outsiders. Move along!
Linka: But- (Beni slides the door shut) *sigh*
(A boy with a red cap and blueish black hair and is about the same age as Luke walks up to Linka)
Capped Boy: Who in the world are you? And what's that bizarre garb you're wearing? A Pokémon could slice right through those flimsy excuses for clothes!
Linka: (Showes her clothes to the boy) Yeah, these weren't made for fighting creatures so i can see why...
Capped Boy: Hm. For you to get in here, someone must've vouched for you...
Linka: Well...
Capped Boy: Was it Professor Laventon? Do you two know each other? He's from a region a long way off. Not the most reliable sort, though—letting Pokémon run off and give him the slip and all...
Linka: What do you mean?
Capped Boy: Three more of 'em got away just a while ago! If I hadn't been resting up after some Pokémon drubbed me with a move called Thunder Shock, I'd have corralled 'em for sure. But the professor, well...
Laventon: Unfortunately, it's just as Rei says... I'm a clumsy sort of fellow, to put it mildly!
Rei: (Surprised) Ack!
Laventon: But everything will be quite all right now! Linka here has agreed to help us with our Pokédex!
Rei: As in...she's going to join the Survey Corps? What makes you think that's a good idea? We can't just take in any misfit who wanders out of the wilderness!
?: I'll allow it!
((A Woman with short sky-blue hair walks to the group.))
Rei: Gah?!
Sky haired Woman: Assuming the individual can contribute to the Survey Corps, that is.
(The sky haired woman looks at Linka)
Cyllenne: I am the captain of the Galaxy Team's Survey Corps. You may call me Cyllene. Professor Laventon has told me how you helped secure his Pokémon when they slipped his control. And now it seems he would like us to feed and house you in exchange for your ongoing labor.
(Looks at Linka.) Hmm. You look to be 11 or so. Just old enough to work for your keep. But we can't simply take on a stranger who wanders in among us, without any idea of their skills or origins. Tomorrow we shall see if you can prove yourself worthy.
Laventon: Oho! A most reasonable decision, Captain. Now, would you care to join us for a meal? I'm sure you've got plenty of questions for our visitor!
Cyllene: That's quite alright. I prefer to eat alone so I might appreciate my meals without distraction.
(Cyllene orders her food and leaves)
Laventon: Aloof as always, I see. Well, no matter! The rest of us can share a meal and some pleasant conversation, then, eh? (turns toward the restaurant) Beni, old chum! The usual potato mochi, if you please—but make it for three today!
I'm gonna leave it at that for now...
