(Linka and Rei enter the building.)
Rei: Here we are—Galaxy Hall! What d'you think? Ever seen a building this grand before?
Linka: We have the town hall in my town, but this is pretty impresive for a small village.
Peselle: Don't give up! Keep those eyes open!
Yojiro: The wild pokemon...they were everywhere. Attacking from all sides...I send out my partner pokemon, But...against a whole pack...Outnumbered...
Peselle: This is what happens when you go so far afield! But the Medical Corps will put you to rights.
Rei: You, uh...do realize that if you fail your trial and get flung out of the village, you could well die out there? Well, you might die even sooner than that if you have to take on this trial without a Pokémon to be your partner...
Linka: Don't worry, I'm good at P.E. at school, so i feel confident that i will pass.
Rei: (Walks up to the door in front) Captain Cyllene, ma'am! I've brought Linka!
Cyllene: You may enter. (Linka and Rei enters the office. While Cyllene walks up to them.) Let us get straight to it. If you wish to join the Galaxy Expedition Team, prove yourself capable by going out into the Obsidian Fieldlands and catching three different species of Pokémon: Bidoof, Starly and Shinx.
Rei: Three species, right away?! But none of us have ever managed that!
Cyllene: Did this stranger not catch three different Pokémon only yesterday? My trial should be simple enough for her— if the professor wasn't exaggerating things, that is. The Galaxy Team does not have the means to provide for those who only take without giving. If you wish to stay, you must prove yourself beyond any doubt that you'll be an asset to our cause. I will lend you one of our Survey Corps satchels to carry whatever you may need in the field. (Gives Linka a satchel.)
Linka: (Puts satchel on) Would've like it better if it was orange...
Rei: That whatever-it-is you're wearing doesn't suit our satchels in the least!
Cyllene: Rei. I'll expect you to step in if anything goes awry.
Laventon: Pardon, Linka! Come with me a moment!
(Linka, Rei, and Laventon are out of the office.)
Laventon: Now then, a jolly good morning to everyone!
Rei: What did you need, Professor?
Laventon: In order to complete our Pokédex and, well, simply survive in this unforgiving land... Linka absolutely must pass this trial! And as a professor of Pokémon, I've got just the ticket to help accomplish that!
(The three pokemon Linka caught are show.)
Rowlet: Hey, Linka!
Cyndaquill: Sup, Linka!
Oshawott: Hi, Linka!
Laventon: Go on, Linka! Pick the Pokémon that strikes your fancy! With a partner of your own, you'll be able to fight off wild Pokémon outside the village! These little darlings are very dear to me...but it's plain to see they're rather curious about you!
Linka: Yeah, They're very exited to see me.
Laventon: Well, my girl? Which Pokémon would you like to keep as your very own?
Linka: (Looks at the three starters) Hmm tricky choice.
(Linka looks at the three starters. Rowelt looks adorable with the tie, and Oshawott look cute with the shell, but Linka's decision was made.)
Linka: (Walks up to Cyndaqill.) Hey buddy.
Cyndaquill: Are you...
Linka: You're the first pokemon i caught, so it only seems natural that would choose you. (Turns toward Laventon) Proffessor, I choose Cyndaquill.
Cyndaquill: Yay!
You want give a nickname to your Cyndaquill?
Linka: Sure, I'll name you...Quilli
Quilli: I love it!
Laventon (Sends Quilli back in her pokeball.) Good show! (Gives pokeball to Linka) A word of advice, my girl—pay close attention to which Poké Balls are empty and which ones contain a Pokémon when you're out in the field!
Rowelt and Oshawott: Good luck, Quilli!
Rei: Look at those two cheer on their pal Cyndaquil. Or maybe they just wanted to help Linka with her trial!
Linka: Nah, it's the former.
Laventon: That could well be... They did go dashing from the village when Linka fell out of the sky, after all. Well, not to worry, you two! I'll have you assist me with my research for now! By the by, what species has Captain Cyllene charged you with catching?
Linka: Bidoof, Starly and Shinx.
Laventon: Well, that's smashing! All three of those species can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands! Let me give you some Poké Balls to use during your trial, then. (Gives Linka 20 pokeballs.) These Poké Balls may be handcrafted, but they work a treat, as you've already seen! You'll have this trial cleared in no time!
Rei: Let's be off! I'll show you the way to the Obsidian Fieldlands. Meet me at the gate to your left as you leave headquarters.
Linka: Alright. (Looks at Quilli's pokeball.) Arceus...I'll be fulfilling your request.
(Linka goes outside.)
Beauregard: Morning Linka.
Linka: Morning Beauregard.
(When Linka got to the gate, she sees Rei talking to a young blonde man with his hair covering his left eye, and aqua and yellow cap and out, and carrying a backpack.)
?:(Turns toward Linka) Oh? What a curious getup you have there. I can already tell you're quite the character! I'm Volo of the Ginkgo Guild, the go-to choice for any of your mercantile needs here in Hisui! I've heard talk about you. Fell from the sky, didn't you?
Linka: Yeah, and without any broken bones.
Volo: Now that's certainly a tale I'd like to hear... Oh, you've a Pokémon! You're certainly full of interesting surprises... Investigating the odd and novel is key to any good merchant's success! So what do you say? How about you and I see how our Pokémon stand up to one another in battle?
Linka: I'm never battle before, but knowing that I'm off to catch some pokemon, It Sounds like a good idea to get some experience.
Volo: I like you better and better! What a delightful find! I've also heard about this trial you're to attempt. Let's have a quick battle to get your blood pumping before you head out! Though I hope you know you'll lose if your Pokémon's HP reaches zero!
(Linka and Volo are given space for a battle.)
Rei: The battle between Linka and Volo shall now begin!
Volo: (adjusts his hat and pulls out a pokeball.) Go Togepi! (A creature with a spikey head and round body with red and blue triangle rings comes out of the ball.)
Linka: (Pulls out Quilli's pokeball) Go Quilli! (Sends out the Cyndaquill)
Quilli: I'm ready!
Linka: Quilli, use Quick Attack!
(Quilli charges at Togepi with rapid speed.)
Togepi: Argh!
Volo: Togepi use Tackle!
(Togepi tackles Quilli)
Quilli: *groans in pain*
Linka: Alright, Quilli, use Quick Attack again!
(Quilli charges at Togepi with another speedy tackle.)
Volo: Tackle once more!
(Togepi tackles Quilli again. This time, with a critical hit!)
Quilli: (Falls down on the ground.) Ugh...
Linka: Quilli are you O.K.?
Quilli: (Gets back up) Never better!
Linka: Alright, let's finish this! Quick Attack one more time!
(Quilli tackles Togepi one last time, causing the egg pokemon to fall back. Her eyes were swirls)
Rei: (Lifts his hand at Linka's side) Togepi is unable to battle, Quilli is the winner. Which means the victor of the match is Linka!
Linka and Quilli: We did it! Yeah! (They do a Hi 5)
Volo: (Returns Togepi to her pokeball and lightly shake his head.) Moves, items... Use them well, and the world will open up to you!
Linka: That was a good battle, Volo. I hope we'll battle again sometime.
Volo: It's always good fun to have your Pokémon do battle, don't you think? And as they gain experience through battle, they'll learn more moves and grow even stronger! But so few people here have their own Pokémon. If only more knew how to use Poké Balls! At any rate, let me help our two battlers recover from their little exercise. (Heals pokemon)
Linka: Thanks. Don't want to go to the Obsidian Feildlands with a worn out pokemon.
Volo: And to you, my sky-fallen friend... I present some Potions in thanks! (Gives Linka potions.)
Linka: Thanks! I could use these.
Volo: You can use them on your Pokémon whenever they might be worn out from battle. I'll be hoping that you're successful on that trial of yours. More Galaxy Team members means more customers for yours truly, after all! (Leaves Jubilive Village.)
Rei: If you can battle that well, I've got a feeling you may have your trial well in hand—even if it's more to do with catching than battling.
Linka: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be fine.
Rei: Now, to the Obsidian Fieldlands!
Linka: Yeah, time for me to work on catching some pokemon!
Rei: Whenever you leave Jubilife Village, you have to pick a destination from your map and let Ress the guardsman know where you're off to. That way, someone can come collect you if things go wrong. Hey...I hope you make it through this!
(Linka walks to Ress)
Ress: You're Linka correct? I was informed you'd be passing through. Your trail will take place outside the safety of the village. Please take care to come back alive.
Thanks to Njistar for helping choose Linka's Starter. I will give each pokemon a nickname as i just love gving nicknames to my pokemon. Linka will start her journey on completing the pokedex.
