(At Kamado's Office.)
Kamado: I commend you on your successful research of the Pokémon living in the Crimson Mirelands. Your next orders are to begin the survey of the Cobalt Coastlands.
Linka: Alright, So who's the frenzied noble there?
Kamado: About that, there are no Pokémon nobles in the Cobalt Coastlands.
Linka: What? No nobles?
Irida: Allow me to explain. We did have a lord in the coastlands...until a few years ago. A tragedy took him from us.
Linka: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that...
(The Brothers also have their condolences on the loss.)
Kamado: Now, we've had reports of people seeing strange, shadowy figures on the island the lord used to call his home. We have also received word from both the Security Corps and Supply Corps. It seems some of their members were attacked by a ghost while out gathering materials around Firespit Island.
Irida: There are serious concerns—and moreover, my clan just can't tolerate this desecration of our late lord's seat! Normally, I'd entrust this to our warden in the coastlands, but her situation is...complicated.
Kamado: Now for the report you might want to know. There were two boys with unusual clothing found at the coastlands. One with a red ring on his shirt with brown hair, and the other wearing black whose black hair resembles a Growthlithe's.
(The Louds Kids were surprised as they knew who those were.)
Linka: That's Lynn and Lars! I knew they'd be next!
Loni: I thought Lynn had a zero on his shirt.
Luke: That's what Kamado meant by a red ring, Loni.
Kamado: I had a feeling those two would be your brothers. I trust my intentions are clear by now. I hereby order you to investigate these reports.
Irida: I'll meet you in the Cobalt Coastlands. I do love it there—it's a beautiful area. Oh, and...I know this must be a bewildering situation to be dropped into. I'm sorry, Linka.
Linka: It's O.K., Irida. Alright guys Let's Head over to Cyllene's office.
(The siblings left the room.)
Kamado: Think nothing of it. Linka is a talented and hard-working member of the Galaxy Team. I'm sure she will sort things out.
Irida: Indeed. Linka quelled the Lord of the Woods. I've seen both her strengths and her kindness firsthand.
(At Cyllene's office.)
Cyllene: The next area for you to investigate will be the Cobalt Coastlands. It is farther afield than the Crimson Mirelands—much farther—and the path is long and trying. With your current rank, you should be capable of braving the Cobalt Coastlands. You know your mission. Investigate Firespit Island.
Lane: Well Linka, I'm headed back to the Diamond Clan settlement. Tell a galaxy member to bring me over once you brought Lynn and Lars back.
Linka: Right. Come on Luke.
Luke: Right behind ya sis!
(As Linka and Luke head for the gate, Lian walks to them.)
Lian: Ah, if it isn't Linka.
Linka: Lian!
Lian: Though I suppose it's to be expected that I'd run into you in the village. Where are you going to study Pokémon next?
Linka: The Cobalt Coastlands
Lian: Oh, the Cobalt Coastlands? Palina's certainly in a bit of a situation over there. She's a warden, and yet she has no noble to see are even some people in the Pearl Clan that speak ill of her, though not to her face. Oh, but do forgive me. Perhaps I shouldn't be airing dirty laundry. A piece of advice, then, as an apology for wasting your time! Some Pokémon are strongly affected by certain stones, which hold mysterious power. With the right stone, you can even evolve some Pokémon. You need look no further than Kleavor for proof of that!
Linka: Oh yeah, My Brother Luke's coming with me.
Lian: I can see he's part of the Survey Corps now based on his outfit, but isn't his rank a bit low to go the coastlands?
Linka: Cyllene said that as long as he's supervised by a rank 3 member or higher, (that's me) he's allowed to go there.
Lian: Anyway, What I'm trying to say is basically this: if you and the Survey Corps want to learn all there is to know about the Pokémon of this region...then the stones you find throughout Hisui will be very important. There's even a tale of a stone that contains the power of creation—the very same power almighty Sinnoh used to create the universe! I trust you'll take my advice to heart and not underestimate how important stones can be. To help grind this fact into you... Here. I'll give you some rather handy stones and things I found.
(Lian hands Linka 2 Grit Pebbles and 3 sacks of Grit Pebbles.)
Lian: And should you want some stones that can help Pokémon evolve, I believe the Ginkgo Guild has them from time to time!
Linka: Alright, I'll check them out sometime, alright Luke to the Cobalt Coastlands!
(The Colbat Coastlands was a land with a massive sea with a mountain, a large beach with greens and trees, and an island with an active volcano in the distance.)
Luke: Whoa! This is way different from the beach we've got back home. Too bad we didn't bring our swimsuits.
Linka: Don't feel too down. We're here on a mission anyways.
Laventon: Ah, the Cobalt Coastlands! A simply lovely corner of Hisui! Sea and sky as far as the eye can see! What kinds of Pokémon await us here, I wonder? Water types? Or Flying types, perhaps? Oooh, I simply can't wait to study them all! Now, I'm sure you're just as excited as I am to research this area's Pokémon, but let's not forget that you've a mission to accomplish! So, any questions before you get started?
Linka: So what's Firespit Island like?
Laventon: Firespit Island is an offshore volcano—you'll need to cross the sea to reach it. I'd advise you to speak to a fellow called Iscan. He's one of the Diamond Clan's wardens and will surely help you find your way.
Luke: Alrightie, Let's go find him.
(As Linka and Luke headed off to Crossing Slope to explore the coastlands, Irida was there. She was playing her Celestica Flute with a different song.)
Irida: I do love the flute. It feels as if its tones carry to the very ends of space. But I am here, and so are you. So now I'm going to focus everything I have on battling you!
Linka: I'm game!
Irida: Very good. You who have seen the vast space beyond the rift... Here I come!
(Irida had Glaceon and Eevee while Linka had Quilli.)
Luke: Two against One? Isn't that unfair?
Linka: We had a Two against Three battle in the Crimson Mirelands.
Luke: Yeah, but that was against wild pokemon and this is a trainer battle.
Linka: Well, if this is how Irida wants to battle, I'll just go with it.
Irida: Glaceon use Quick Attack Strong style! and Eevee use Baby Doll Eyes!
(Glaceon uses quick attack on Quilli while Eevee gives a super cute look, but Quilli looked away from it.)
Linka: Quilli use Flame Wheel Strong style on Glaceon!
(Quilli used flame wheel on Glaceon, causing her to get a burn.)
Eevee: Are you O.K.?
Glaceon: I can still fight don't worry.
Irida: Alright, Glaceon use Powder Snow and Eevee use Quick Attack!
(Glaceon used powder snow on Quilli, giving her frostbite and Eevee used quick attack on her. Glaceon took damage from the burn and fainted.)
Glaceon: Cover for me Eevee.
Eevee: Right.
Irida: Now Eevee, Quick Attack!
(Eevee used quick attack on Quilli.)
Irida: Use Baby Doll Eyes!
(Eevee used Baby Doll Eyes, lowering Quilli's attack.)
Linka: Now use Flame Wheel Strong style!
(Quilli used flame wheel on Eevee, causing him to get a burn.)
Irida: Quick Attack Agile Style!
(Eevee used quick attack on Quilli. He took damage from the burn.)
Irida: Quick Attack again!
(Eevee used quick attack on Quilli. He took damage from the burn.)
Irida: Quick Attack again!
(Eevee used quick attack on Quilli. He took damage from the burn. Knocking him out.)
Linka: I won!
Irdia: Ah, now I feel better! The world is vast...and I am small within it. Allow me to heal your Pokémon.
(Irida heels Quilli.)
Irida: All right. With you... I think with you I can be frank. I can't afford to look weak in front of the Diamond Clan's leader or your commander, but in truth...I sometimes wonder how I've ended up with the burdens I bear. You see, we have a warden in the coastlands— a lovely woman named Palina. But she tends no lord or lady. And she will not raise a successor to fill the late lord's empty seat, either. Some people have started to question her worthiness to be a warden at all. But Lina—that is to say, Palina—she's very dear to me, no matter what anyone might say. We were both in the running to become leader of the Pearl Clan. We strove to surpass one another, but...she taught me a great deal, too. Having said all this, I have a favor to ask of you. Please help her raise the Pokémon she looks after into a true heir to his father—the late lord!
Linka and Luke: You can count on us!
Irida: With the help of your strength, I think our late lord's heir would grow into a worthy successor. And if he succeeds, it should silence Lina's naysayers. I don't know of anyone I'd trust more to help with this than the person who helped the Pearl Clan by quelling Kleavor's frenzy! You'll be able to find Lina up on the headland. Head down this hill, and turn left. You should find a slope leading up onto the ridge..
