[After Arcanine left.]
Iscan: Um... Was I the only one who felt like they heard the cry of the previous Lord Arcanine earlier?
Palina: Oh? How odd. I certainly didn't.
Iscan: P-please, I do hope you're joking... I'm easily scared as it is. What am I to do if I start hearing the cries of ghosts all the time?
Palina: No need to worry, Iscan. I only kid. I also heard the voice of the previous lord calling out to us. It seems I wasn't the only one watching over his young pup this whole time...Linka, you have my heartfelt thanks for helping my dear little one, the new Lord Arcanine. I'm sorry to ask even more of you, but...please look after Irida as well. Now then, Iscan, I believe we'd best be off.
Linka: Will do.
[The siblings left and met Irida.]
Irida: Linka, ... I wasn't much use just watching from the side, was I...
Linka: It's O.K. Irida.
Irdia: You know, when Lina wouldn't raise Growlithe to be the new lord and people in our clan were doubting her fitness as a warden... I urged her to put Growlithe through the proper training, but she snapped at me. "This poor Pokémon saw his own father die," she told me. "Is it a warden's duty to force a child in such pain through that training?" Those words left me with...much to consider. And even when Arcanine became Lord of the Isles and grew frenzied, all I could do was watch.
Linka: What about the balms?
Irida: Please. All I did was arrive late and help explain about the balms—something you could have done without me. Is that so praiseworthy? Do I deserve to be recognized for such a slight contribution? I took on leadership of the Pearl Clan so young, with no grand vision for what it should be... Still, I tried to respect our old customs and sites, even as some called me old-fashioned for it. But watching you, I finally see. I know what I want to do. I want to protect this vast land of Hisui. Grant me another battle someday, Linka! I want to battle alongside my partner so we can grow strong enough to be of help to you...and to broaden the horizons of the world I see!
Linka: Of course.
Irdia: Looks like I've got Lina to thank for yet another lesson that I've learned. I should let her know. And hear more about her relationship with Warden Iscan, while I'm at it! Here's where we part for now, Linka. I need to get off this oven of an island!
Luke: Man, that tight Link.
Linka: Thank, I think we better get back to the village.
[They head to the Coastlands camp. Linka introduced Lars and Laventon to each other. Lars give read the poem for Arcanine to him.]
Laventon: Hm? You've quelled the new Lord Arcanine? Oho! Let's tell Commander Kamado the good news, then, shall we? Back to Jubilife we go!
[They head back to Jubilife at the Galaxy Hall, Linka was promoted to 4-star rank. They then head to Kamado's Office.]
Kamado: Linka! I see you found those brothers of yours.
Linka: Yep, and Lynn has joined the Galaxy Team in case you haven't noticed.
Kamado: You did well on your mission in the Cobalt Coastlands. Your efforts there aided not only the Galaxy Team but the Pearl Clan as well...I do hope your efforts will also have an impact on the space-time rift, somehow. If we are able to get rid of that rift, it should clear any lingering doubts about your origins. Though how we might actually close the rift, I haven't the slightest idea. Remain true to the mission.
[Linka, her brothers, Laventon and Rei were at the Wallflower. Lars was reading "Arcanine" to them.]
Lars: *Reading his poem* with a warm heart of a firey glow.
Lane: Cool poem! Couldn't say it better myself.
Loki: Glad to have you back you two.
Loni: And I'm glad that Coastlands now has a new noble.
Lynn: Glad to see you guys too. And with my Linka and Luke by my side, we'll have the Pokedex filled up in no time!
[Beni brings them the mochi.]
Beni: If you notice that today's potato mochi taste a bit different, well, that's because I used a Pokémon's flames to roast 'em! Bon appétit!"
[Linka and Lynn start eating.]
Laventon: The birth of a new lord Pokémon... What a sight that must have been! If only I had journeyed to Firespit Island to witness the event myself.
Rei: Could you even ride on Basculegion in the first place Professor?
Laventon: Come now, you know my coordination is so poor I couldn't even hit my own foot with a Poké Ball! And I can't dodge Pokémon attacks to quite literally save my own skin! Of course I can't possibly ride atop a fearsome beast like Basculegion! That being said... we'd all do well to remember these wise words: "The ever-striving soul is rewarded in the end." And strive I shall! For the sake of my research, I will surely ride a Pokémon one day and record the experience in our Pokédex for all posterity! Just you watch!
[The ate their mochi and went to bed.]
[The next day...]
[Linka was getting up when a man with what seems to be a worn out train workers outfit walked to her.]
Man with strange clothing: Good morning, good ma'am who came from the sky! Commander Kamado told me to let you know he awaits your arrival in his office.
[Linka, her brothers and Adaman were at Kamado's office.]
Kamado: I have your next orders. You must go to the Coronet Highlands to quell another frenzied noble—Electrode, Lord of the Hollow. We have also heard that two of your brothers, Leif and Lexx have been located there as well.
Luke: So the twins are at the Coronet Highlands...We're getting so close.
Linka: So Adaman, what can Electrode do?
Adaman: Electrode has a propensity to store up electricity in its body, then unleash it. But since Electrode became frenzied, those electrical outbursts have become giant blasts.
Kamado: Hrrrm! We'll be enlisting the Pearl Clan's aid in securing you safe passage to Electrode's seat. I've sent word ahead to Irida asking—
[Just then they heard a yell.]
Bagin: N-no! You don't have permission to go up th-!
Voice: Oh, save it! As if I'll be stopped by the likes of you! Now, out of my way!
[A guy with long light purple hair and a beanie cap walked up the stairs and into the office.]
Guy: Hey ho, Bossman Kamado! I thought it might've slipped your mind to send me an invite, so I took the liberty of stopping by anyway.
Adaman: Melli! Where are your manners? We're having an important conversation!
Melli: Well, there's your issue right there, Adaman! How exactly did you intend to discuss Electrode without me—its mighty warden—here to weigh in?
Adaman: There's no more to discuss. We've already asked Linka to quell the Lord of the Hollow.
Melli: Awww, come on! Is it ME you're trying to humiliate here or our entire clan? Besides, do you really think this flimsy little noodle can quell Electrode?
Linka: *Offended* Excuse me?!
[The brothers were offended too.]
Melli: Well, you're just like that little brat in the overalls, at least that little prince understands.
Linka: Yep, that proves the twins are defiantly at wherever he's from.
Adaman: Commander, I'm sincerely sorry for this heedless interruption!
Kamado: Pay it no mind. It seems even Security Corps personnel I trained myself cannot stop one so capable as Warden Melli. That being said...
Adaman: Yes?
Kamado: It is clear that the Security Corps needs even further rounds of training from me later.
Adaman: Hear that, Melli? The Security Corps will sob themselves to sleep tonight, thanks to you. The commander's sumo moves can send even boulders flying!
Melli: Hmph!
Kamado: Now, now. That will do. Linka, you have your orders. See to it that Electrode is quelled! Warden Melli, of course we would appreciate your help if there's anything you might assist with.
Linka: Yes, Commander!
Kamado: Now, go!
[They head downstairs where they met with Adaman and Melli talking with each other.]
Adaman: Listen, Melli. The Galaxy Team—well, at least, Linka is amazing, and we'll prove it. Follow me outside!
[They head outside. Just then, Wings came out of his pokeball.]
Wings: I am ready to evolve!
Linka: O.K.
[Wings evolved into a large bird with a headfeather with a red turf. Linka looked up what pokemon Wings evolved into and saw that it was a Staraptor.]
Linka: I think I know who to battle with.
[Linka walked to Adaman there was a quadrupedal pokemon with leaf like ears and tail by his side.]
Leafeon: I'm Leafeon nice to meet you Linka.
Linka: Hi! To Adaman* Ready to battle!
Adaman: All right, Linka! Go a round with me! Melli, make sure you watch closely, now! Go Leafeon! Eevee!
[Leafeon and an Eevee walk onto the battlefield.]
Linka: Wings, you're up! *Sends out Wings.* Use Air Slash on Leafeon!
[Wings used Air Slash on Leafeon.]
Adaman: Eevee, use Baby Doll Eyes! Leafeon use Leaf Blade
[Eevee used Baby Doll Eyes on Wings while Leafeon Created a green blade from the leaf on his forehead and slashed Wings.]
Linka: Use Close Combat on Eevee!
[Wings used Close Combat on Eevee knocking him out.]
Adaman: Use Leaf Blade Agile Style!
[Leafeon used an agile style Leaf Blade on Wings.]
Adaman: Now Leaf Blade Strong Style!
[Leafeon used a strong style Leaf Blade on Wings.]
Linka: Wings use Brave Bird!
[Wings charged at Leafeon with a charge of energy around him. Knocking out Leafeon.]
Linka: We did it! Yeah! *She and Wings high five*
Adaman: You see how good Linka is now, yes? No more sneering at her!
Melli: .. ... ... Hmph!
[Linka gave Melli a deadpan look]
Adaman: Now, I think our helper from the Pearl Clan was going to meet you at the training grounds once you're ready...? Till later, Linka. Glad to have your help, as always! Melli! Shift yourself, unless you want to get even more of an earful than you're already due for!
[Adaman and Melli left]
Melli: Aw, c'mon, Adaman! Cut me some slack here...
Cyllene: Linka!
[Cyllene was at the front door.]
Linka: Captain Cyllene!
Cyllene: Join me in the Survey Corps office. We'll go over the particulars of your new mission.
