He reached the love doctor hut without incident, just like all the days before. He even remembered his key, which felt equally miraculous that he finally could get in by himself as it was depressing at the thought that he even had a key to such a place. His thoughts went back to the moment when he'd scared Lucy yesterday. Her pale face spoke volumes to her worry at leaving the door unlocked. Cobra's mind wandered again to the bits he picked up that one day…only for him to shake his head in an attempt to keep such thoughts away. He wasn't going to ask about it, obviously, he wasn't even going to think about it for fear of accidentally referencing it. Their strange promise from yesterday might not be legally binding, but it meant more than most legal documents did to him. So no more arguments. No more thinking about things not to be discussed.
In a way, there was a little relief in not having to think too hard about such things. The feeling almost masked a strange sour sensation in his stomach. Probably just the coffee. He could munch on dirt and have less stomach problems afterward.
He opened the door to the main room a crack to check, but no one was inside. Curious, he thought. He'd never been the first one in. He marveled at that for a moment before the second depression bubble of the day hit. So he plopped himself down and folded his arms on the table to rest on. Perhaps he'd be able to nap before Lucy arrived.
