1976. I COULDN'T JUST LEAVE MY POOR BO KIDNAPPED AND END THAT SECTION COULD I? AND BY 'MY POOR BO' I DON'T MEAN THAT I OWN THE CHARACTER OF BO DUKE. THIS IS A CONVENIENT TIME TO SAY THAT I DON'T OWN THE DUKES OF HAZZARD. lolol.

Lulu had CB'd Rosco and told him that three masked men had tried to haul her off, but that Bo Duke had saved her, tackling one of the gunmen. She told Rosco what the car looked like (a black 1964 Pontiac Catalina) but she didn't get the license plate. She told him that it had happened on green apple road. When she had left, the gun was pretty much under the car and Bo had a pretty good handle on the three of them. She told Rosco that Bo seemed to have it under control, but that he'd better go to arrest them. Rosco had run out to the scene of the crime and found Bo and Luke's empty truck and no sign of any people around. Being Rosco, he didn't think of the fact the Bo was kidnapped so, he just called Cooter to tow the truck and headed back to Hazzard.

At the farm, Luke was starting to worry: Bo had been gone for two hours and he wasn't answering the CB. It couldn't possibly take that long to get fence staples. He took off in Jesse's truck to look for him. After searching Bo's favorite roads and shortcuts and most of the town, Luke became worried. He CB'd the farm to see if Bo had come back there, but he hadn't. Luke decided to tell Rosco.

Rosco told Luke about the men who tried to take Lulu and what Bo had done and about finding the truck. Luke put the pieces together and raced back to the farm. Rosco put out an APB on the car, and Bo Duke. Police in surrounding towns and counties were notified. No one knew for sure that Bo had been kidnapped so, the report was that he was missing.

The Dukes spent the rest of the day combing the roads around green apple road and the miles beyond, but there was no sign of Bo or a black Catalina. Luke, Jesse, and Daisy did't sleep well at all that night, and neither did Bo.

"Untie the kid and let him lie down to sleep." Lenny pleaded, seeing Bo's wrists swelling and bleeding from the cuffs.

"He can sleep sitting up if he's that tired." Billy climbed into his sleeping bag and fell asleep. Once he was sure that Jim and Billy were asleep, Lenny brought Bo some water to drink and some bread to eat: it was all he could find to give to him.

"I'm real sorry about this, Bo." Lenny apologized as he fed him.

"I reckon it ain't all your fault." Bo knew that if he was nice to this guy, it might be his way out. So instead of saying 'how dare you kidnap me, my family is gonna come after you and then you'll curse the day you was born!' he tried to be agreeable.

"I'll try not to let him hurt you, but there isn't too much I can do about it." Lenny said.

You could have not kidnapped me... Bo thought to himself.

"You can have my jacket." Lenny draped his jacket over Bo's shoulders and went over to his sleeping bag for the night.

You gotta get me outta this, please... Bo silently prayed.

A few hours later, Lenny was woken up by a high-pitched airy sound. He looked around the room until he found where the noise was coming from.

"What's the matter, kid?" Lenny went over to Bo.

"I have asthma." Bo wheezed quietly. Lenny thought for a minute. He could be faking to escape, or it could be real. Heck, I kinda want him to escape anyway.

"I'll go tell Billy." Lenny started.

"No." Bo begged. "He'll just use it against me. There's an inhaler in my right front pocket." Bo pleaded with Lenny.

"Okay." Lenny slowly pulled the inhaler from Bo's pocket and then looked at his hands. Oh, that's right, he's handcuffed and only Billy has the keys.

"Do you want me to-"

"I reckon." Bo hated this: all of his dignity was gone. One of the men who had kidnapped him was going to save his life. How embarrassing.

"That's enough." Bo turned his head away after several minutes. "Now you don't tell them about this, got it?" Bo ordered quietly, but sternly.

"Yeah, good idea." Lenny went back to bed.

The next morning, Billy got up and started bossing everyone about.

"Jim, you take the car we stole and you get rid of it. I don't care how, set it on fire, run it off a cliff, but whatever you do, make sure it's destroyed." Bill handed him the keys and Jim took off.

"Lenny, warm up a can of those beans for me." Billy commanded.

"You feel like moving some boxes?" Billy walked over to Bo.

"Nope." Bo refused.

"How about now?" Billy held is gun to Bo's head.

"You gotta un-cuff me first." Bo reminded him.

"Don't tell me what to do!" Billy shouted. "I'll un-cuff you when I want to." Billy walked away.

"Lenny, once you're done with those beans, we are gonna go get us some dough. There's a mom and pop store around the corner." Billy put his coat on.

"I'll get the ski-masks." Lenny grabbed the masks and handed one to Billy.

"I said when you're done with the beans!" Billy slapped him in the face. Lenny finished making the beans and put the plate on an old barrel, pulling a crate up next to it as a chair.

"When I'm through eating, we go rob that store, got it?" Billy started eating.

"Alright." Lenny took a gun and loaded it. "You know, if we get caught they're gonna find the kid. Then we'll get life for kidnapping." Lenny commented.

"We are not letting the kid go and that's the end of it!" Billy knew what Lenny was trying to do.

"When we get back, you're gonna move all of these old auto parts outta here so we can get some furniture." Billy looked over at Bo.

"Alright, Lenny, let's go." Billy picked up his gun.

"We're gonna get caught." Lenny stated.

"Shut up!" Billy slapped him. "You stay here with the kid, I'll rip off the store myself." Billy stormed out.

"Bo, I've got an idea, but I'll need your help." Lenny knelt next to him.

"What can I do?" Bo asked reluctantly.

"I'm gonna go turn myself in and tell the cops where the hideout is. I'm gonna need you to tell Jim and Billy that I've gone to find a car to steal, okay?" Lenny requested.

"You're going to give yourself up for grand theft auto and kidnapping?" Bo was surprised.

"Yeah. I don't see any reason not to, I'll just get caught sooner or later." Lenny reasoned.

"Can you find some bolt cutters and take these offa me?" Bo shook his wrists.

"I have to leave you here so that Jim and Billy don't get suspicious. That way they'll be here for the police raid. The cops will get you out and get you home, I promise." Lenny gave him some water and beans before leaving for the police station.

Jim got back first, and was surprised to see no one there but Bo.

"Where'd they go, blondie?" Jim grabbed Bo by the hair.

"Billy went to rob a store around the corner and Lenny went to go get another car." Bo pulled his head away.

"You're lying!" Jim slapped him.

"You're just mad 'cause you think they skipped town on you." Bo smiled.

"Shut up!" Jim started utilizing Bo for the main reason he had wanted him, a punching bag. Billy came back with a bag of groceries and money.

"What's this?" He shouted as he walked in.

"He was being a pill!" Jim shouted before striking him again.

"I don't doubt that, but we need him alive so he can move all these auto parts for us, so lay off for a while." Billy ordered. "Where's Lenny?"

"Blondie says he went to steal a car." Jim walked over to take a look at the bag of loot.

"I didn't tell him to do that!" Billy hated it when his men did things without being told. He walked over to Bo.

"Jim, you've beat the crap out of him." Billy said, examining the unconscious boy. "There's nothing left for me!" Billy shouted, stepping towards Jim.

"I need to hit someone..." Billy started pounding on Jim.

"Just wake the kid up and hit him!" Jim shouted in agony.

"I'm done anyway." Billy sighed and went to count the money he'd stolen.

Suddenly the door was smashed open and three police men entered with guns. "Freeze!"

Billy glared at Jim and put his hands up. Their rights were read to them, and they were loaded up and taken to the police station.

One of the policemen un-cuffed Bo and carried him outside, where he laid him down on the sidewalk and called an ambulance. Bo was taken to the hospital.

When Bo woke up, he had no memory of who he was or what had happened. He looked around the room and realized that he was in a hospital, but he had no idea why. He decided the best idea was to try and escape so, he tried to sit up. Ow. That wasn't happening.

Back in Hazzard the Dukes were going crazy still trying to figure out where Bo was.

"We ain't never gonna get him back, Uncle Jesse!" Daisy sobbed into Jesse's shoulder after a long day of looking.

"We can't give up, Daisy. We'll find him." Jesse hugged her. Luke refused to come home to sleep that night. He spent the next 48 hours driving around all of the towns and counties around Hazzard. (Boss Hogg gave him permission) When he reached Atlanta, he went to the police station.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for my cousin who I'm pretty sure was kidnapped. He's tall, got blue eyes, curly blonde hair, and his name is Bo Duke. He's 17-years-old. There's already an APB out for him." Luke recited what he had been saying to every desk sergeant around for the past 48 hours.

"There was a teen fitting that description that was found in an old garage. He'd been beaten so he got taken to a hospital. I'll see if I can dig up some more information for you, like what hospital, and things like that." He offered.

"How badly is he hurt?" Luke asked.

"I don't know, and I'm not sure he's the kid your looking for either."

"Didn't he say what his name was?"

"Here's the paper: He's got some cuts on his wrists, bruises all over and some head trauma. He doesn't know who he is."

"Why weren't the Hazzard police notified when you found him?" Luke asked.

"There are 100s of missing tall, blonde, male teens. We needed more information first." He replied.

The sergeant handed him a paper with directions and permission from the police to see the boy.

Luke called Jesse and Daisy, who were still searching around Hazzard and told them that he might be getting close.

Luke arrived at the hospital. He wanted it to be Bo, but then again, he didn't. He wanted is cousin back, but he also didn't want Bo to have been hurt that badly. He walked inside, showed the security his permission from the police and was allowed to go see Bo. Security came with him, of course. Luke opened the door and walked into Bo's room.

"That's him, that's my cousin, Bo." He told the security guy. Luke would have been happier, but it was not a pretty sight. He stepped closer to the bed and looked down at Bo's bruised face. He reached out and cleared the hair from his eyes.

"Well, he is a minor so, we'll need some proof that he is indeed who you say he is before we release him to you."

"He's mine, I swear!" Luke pulled Bo's wallet from his pocket, Cooter had found it in the truck and given it to the Dukes.

"See there, that's him." Luke showed the man Bo's driver's license.

"Are you his legal guardian?" He asked doubtfully.

"No, that'd be my uncle, Jesse Duke." Luke realized that he should call Jesse and tell him to get to Atlanta as fast as he could.

About an hour later, Jesse and Daisy arrived with proof that Bo was his nephew and that he was he legal guardian.

"He should be waking up soon. We had to sedate him earlier because he was trying to get up." The doctor reported. "He should get his memory back pretty soon now, if he's going to get it back." She told them.

"If?" Jesse looked at her.

"Oh, I'm almost positive he will." She smiled. Just then a nurse came from his room.

"He has woken up and he's trying to get away again so, I restrained him. He's speaking, but I can't make out what he's saying." She reported to the doctor.

"You all can go see him now." She offered. The Dukes went into the room. Luke sat next to the bed and put a hand on the side of Bo's neck.

"You know who you are?" Luke asked softly.

"Luke, help me, they're beating me..." Bo mumbled, trying to escape the restraints.

"Not anymore, they ain't. You're safe now, and we're gonna take you home." Luke took his shaking hand.

"Please get me outta here..."

"I will, I promise." Luke removed the restraints and accepted Bo into his arms as Bo wrapped his arms around Luke's neck and pulled himself into a hug. Jesse and Daisy surrounded them both.

Within the next 12 hours, Bo was released and the Dukes took him back to Hazzard. Bo told them everything that happened on the way home and vowed to be more careful in the future.

SO, AS USUAL THIS WAS AS FIRST GOING TO BE A WHOLE OTHER STORY. I STARTED TO WRITE IT, BUT IT JUST DIDN'T WORK OUT SO WELL. I THINK THE REASON THAT I CAN'T EVER MAKE SEPARATE STORIES IS BC I'M NOT VERY GOOD AT WRITING LONG STORIES. THAT'S WHY THIS STORY IS BROKEN UP INTO DIFFERENT YEARS AND SITUATIONS AND ALL MY IDEAS JUST GET TOSSED IN HERE. I GUESS I'LL NEVER ESCAPE THIS STORY.
I WONDER HOW MANY CHAPTER IT WILL END UP WITH?
