Chapter 3: A Friendly Neighborhood Welcome

The next class started, as everyone took a seat. Ms. Kawakami came in, but Peter also noticed that Ren arrived as well.

"Settle down," Kawakami said to the class, as everyone looked at her and Ren.

"Today I'd like to introduce a transfer student: Ren Amamiya. Today we…had him attend the afternoon class since he wasn't feeling well. Alright, please say something to the class," Kawakami said.

"Nice to meet you," Ren said, as everyone was murmuring about Ren.

From what Peter heard, the rumors about Ren make it seem like he was some menace that you have to stay away from. Hell, people were claiming that he carried knives, is a mass assaulter, murderer, and even an elephant smuggler. Obviously Peter found those rumors to be a load of bullshit, but what was surprising was that even Ann found the rumors to be a lie. However it didn't help as when Ren looked at Ann, some of the girls were making remarks about Ann to which Peter found disgusting. The class continued on with the lesson plan albeit people were still murmuring about Ren.

After Class

When the school day was done, Peter went to find Ren, who was looking over at the rooftop.

"I know what it's like," Peter said, as Ren turned around.

"Huh?" Ren asked.

"I know what it's like to feel different, like the whole world hates you for no reason. To be treated like an outcast," Peter said quietly.

"I don't mind it, really. If it gets people to leave me alone, then so be it. It's like comedy in a way," Ren said, as Peter chuckles.

"Yeah, but even then we all get tired of it. Look, what I'm trying to say is that I believe those rumors to be a load of crap. Besides you seem like a decent guy to talk with," Peter said.

Ren was quiet, before he had a small smile.

"Thanks Pete," he said, as Peter nodded before he left.

Peter soon went to the first floor to see that Makoto was waiting for him.

"Hey Makoto-senpai!" Peter greeted, as Makoto greeted Peter.

"Hey Parker-kun, how was your first day of school?" she asked.

"Not bad, got to know some people and overall everyone was treating me pretty well," Peter said.

"Glad to see you're doing ok, anyways let's head to the train station," Makoto said.

As the two were walking to the train station, sirens could be heard as police cars were rushing to wherever it was going.

"I wonder what's going on?" Peter asked, as Makoto sighed.

"I'm not so sure, but let's get-" Makoto was about to say, when she turned around only to see Peter was gone.

"Peter? Peter?!" she exclaimed, trying to look for Peter.

With Peter

Peter was running to a nearby alley, as he jumped up wall from wall. Quickly putting on his suit, Peter swings to the scene.

"Alright then, now we're in business!" Peter exclaimed in excitement, as he swinged around.

He missed swinging across the city, as it had been a while since he had put on the suit. Hell, even the average ordinary citizens were taken aback by the appearance of Spider-Man.

"Is that…?!"

"Can it be?!"

"It's Spider-Man!"

Everybody was in shock and amazement, as they saw a superhero from New York come all the way.

As Peter was swinging to the scene, his phone went off. He takes a look to see that it was Makoto.

"Hey Makoto," Peter greeted, as Makoto blasted something to his ears.

"Peter, where the hell are you?!" Makoto nearly yelled on the phone as everyone looked at her, much to her embarrassment.

"Sorry about that, I just had to take care of something back at the school. I'll come back to the apartment later," Peter said quickly, as he kept swinging.

"Ok fine, you should've at least told me that earlier, you know? Besides, what's that noise?" she asked.

"Uh nothing really, just the wind blowing and the sound of honking cars. It's pretty hectic right now," Peter said, hoping Makoto actually takes it well.

"Right…well just be safe out there ok? Make sure to come home as soon as possible," Makoto said.

"Hear you loud and clear, we'll talk later," Peter ended the conversation.

"Now then, let's get to work," Peter said, as he perched on a lamp pole investigating the crime that's going on.

At a Jewelry Store

A robbery was occurring at a nearby jewelry store, as the robbers appeared armed.

"Nobody moves, this is a robbery!" one of the robbers yelled.

"Just give us the jewels and nobody gets hurt!" the other robber ordered.

"Please don't hurt us! Take whatever, just don't kill us!" the store owner begged.

But before the robbers could take the loot, they heard someone cough. They turned around only to be shocked by who they saw.

"Sup guys," Spider-Man quipped.

"It's Spider-Man! SHOOT HIM!" one of the robbers yelled, as the other robber was loading his gun.

"Amateurs," Spider-Man said, webbing up the gun and yanking it off of the gunman.

The robbers rushed to deck Spider-Man, but thanks to his spider senses, Spidey made quick work out of them, before webbing them up.

"Well as they say, crime never pays and frankly speaking, you guys really suck at this," Spider-Man jokes.

"Y-You're Spider-Man?!" the store owner pointed at him.

"That's my name, don't wear it out. Anyways, I gotta bounce, tell the cops what happened here," Peter said, as he swung away before the cops could question him.

With what just happened here, Peter swings around the city.

"Now this is what I really need!" Peter yells, as he keeps swinging in excitement.

As Peter kept swinging around, more and more people were starting to see that New York's very own Spider-Man was here. Soon Peter looked at the time and realized he needed to get back home and so he soon swung home, with his first day going off without a hitch.
