Zoey blew a piece of hair from her face as she sat beside Chase, watching the latest PCA news. Lola was seated beside her while Michael and James were going over notes together on the floor. Vince had been with them until a few minutes ago when he had to talk with the football coach about rejoining the team. Part of his counseling was that he couldn't be on the team for a whole year and needed a psych evaluation to prove he could handle the pressure without resorting to violence. Now it was just the five of them, classes were over for the day, and they were trying to decide if they wanted to eat in the cafeteria or splurge and get some sushi for dinner. It was a normal routine for them.

Only things didn't feel that way. "Okay, does anyone else feel a little weird about what's going on with Quinn and Logan?" Zoey turned off the tv, finally breaking the group's silence about the topic they had been avoiding. It had been a few days since Winston had arrived on campus, and for the most part, Quinn was showing him around, the two doing science experiments together. However, that left a very angry and irritated Logan for the rest of them to deal with.

Lola rocked her head back and forth, chewing a piece of gum while holding a magazine. "Oh yeah," she flipped the pages shut and threw the colorful book on the table. "I don't even get why he's so angry, though. Quinn is just doing what she always does, only this time she has somebody else to do it with." Which was a blessing in disguise for the two girls. The last few days, they haven't had to worry about any experiments going wrong in their dorm since the girl was spending most of her time in the science lab.

"Maybe because just days ago, we all witnessed Quinn leave with another man right in front of our best friend," Michael spoke up from his spot on the floor, a yellow highlighter in hand making the tips of his finger now glow the same, color. "And now she is spending all her time with said man."

"That's not true!" Zoey couldn't believe he would say that. "You heard Quinn tell Winston she was with Logan, and he said he wasn't into her."

"Yeah, and Logan is your best friend, not ours." Lola gesture to herself and Zoey. They would categorize Logan as a friend, somedays a very nice friend, but most days an acquaintance. They really only hung out with him because of their friend group and tolerated him because Quinn liked him so much.

Chase adjusted himself on the couch so that his body was turned to face the direction of all his friends. "Actually, we never heard Winston directly say that he wasn't into Quinn."

"That's right," Michael nodded, finger pointed at Chase and agreeing with his statement. "Winston just called Quinn those fancy-sounding Italian nicknames and said he left to travel because of her."

Zoey shook her head, "You guys are making this a much bigger deal than it is."

"James," Lola called to the blond-haired boy, who, for the most part, was keeping his mouth shut. Said boy grimaced now that the attention and the topic was focused on him. "You actually have some sense in your pretty little head. What do you think of this situation? Do you think Quinn was wrong to walk off with Winston?"

Michael put his yellow-colored hand on his former roommate's shoulder. "Or do you think she should have done more in telling Winston off and not being running all over campus with him?"

James sighed, closing his notebook. He knew whatever studying they had been doing before was over and done with. "Well…" he really didn't like to be involved with other people's business, especially regarding their relationships. It never ends well. However, seeing the expectant glares of his friends, he knew he wouldn't be able to get out of this one without saying something. "Winston never did say exactly that he wasn't into Quinn, so it doesn't come off the best that she's been basically spending all her time with him." Chase and Michael gave the two girls a victorious laugh and smug look, who seemed super annoyed. "But!" he quickly reiterated as the two females of the group gave him some angry-looking stares. "I also don't think Quinn would ever be the type to cheat, and pretty sure she could do away with Winston if he ever tried anything." This was something they could all agree on. The girl may not be very mighty, but an angry Quinn was not something any of them wanted to be at the end of.

The friend group started to discuss why they thought Quinn was right or wrong. They reviewed all the details they had seen, every word they heard, and why they believed their opinion was the right choice. They only stopped when they heard loud footsteps coming their way and saw it was Logan. He marched into the lounge, angrily throwing his backpack onto the floor as he slumped into the free chair. Said boy looked at his group of friends and sneered, "What? Tired of looking at me, or would you prefer to stare at me from the bushes again?"

Chase grabbed a pillow from the couch and put it in front of his lap for protection. Logan was in a foul mood, and as the closest one sitting next to the angry boy, he was not taking any chances. "Hey buddy," he spoke softly, voice a little higher than usual. He shuddered when an angry scowl was directed his way.

"Where's Quinn?" Zoey winced, already regretting asking, but she wasn't sure what else they were supposed to say.

Logan scoffed at her, "With Winston. Where else would she be?" He crossed his arm, glaring off in the direction of the door. His foot tapping expectantly. It was almost dinner time, but he had yet to hear a word from Quinn about meeting up. He had tried contacting her earlier today, but she said she was busy. A reply he's gotten a lot lately.

The group of friends gave each other wide eyes and were mouthing what to say next but stopped when he turned back to them. "Hey man," Michael reached his hand out, gesturing to the boy sitting in the chair. "I know you're upset, but it's going to be okay."

Cocking one freshly tweezed eyebrow, Logan looked at the hand that was pointed at him and frowned. "What have you been finger painting or something?" he gestured with his chin to the yellow fingertips of his roommate. Said boy merely groaned and tried rubbing his hands together to get the color off.

"Aloha," Quinn came all but skipping into the lounge area with a bag of takeout from Sushi Rox. "How's everyone doing?" She didn't seem to notice the tension in the air. The five friends bit their lips, keeping their mouths shut as their eyes focused on the pouting curly-haired boy. Quinn noticed this, too, and turned her direction to Logan. "Is everything okay?"

Said boy didn't say anything at first; instead, he pointed to her takeout bag. "You had dinner already?"

She nodded, taking out a container of sushi. "Yeah, Winston and I just finished eating a few minutes ago. He is obsessed with Sushi Rox," she laughed; it seemed that even those from a foreign country couldn't get enough of Kazu's sushi. "I stopped by your dorm to invite you, but there was no answer." She placed the container in front of him. She had brought it for him because she knew it was his favorite.

Logan merely scoffed, pushing the food away. "Sorry, but I'm not really interested in being the third wheel with you and that loser."

Taken aback by his attitude, Quinn was the one to scoff next. "Winston is not a loser, and I'd appreciate it if you didn't talk about him like that."

"Oh, so now you're defending him." Logan jumped up from his seat; the intensity of his action made Lola, Zoey, and Chase fall to the ground and now sat next to Michael and James. "Did you forget that you're my girlfriend?"

"Of course, I haven't forgotten!" Quinn frowned, placing her hands on her hips.

Logan flailed his arms around, gesturing to her and the door. "Then how come you're spending all your time with that dork."

"I thought I said not to make fun of him, and why are you acting this way?" she did not like what he was implying. She especially did not like the tone he was taking with her. "What am I not allowed to enjoy my time with friends?"

Logan crossed his own arms, "Oh please, what guy gives a girl flowers and chocolates and kisses her on the cheek and says she's just a friend."

She scoffed at him, curling her upper lip in anger. "He kissed your cheek too." She grinned in amusement when she saw his discomfort form.

"Hey, you promised never to bring that up again." He pointed a finger at her, not happy that she was talking about a moment that made him uncomfortable.

She slapped the finger out of her face. "And I thought we were in agreement the cheek kiss was just a greeting." Winston had confirmed that is how everyone greets each other in Italy.

"If it's just a greeting, that means you won't be upset if I do it too," he huffed, feeling triumphant as he said this. He began looking around for someone to kiss, eyes landing on their group of friends, who all shuddered and shook their heads no. Zoey and Lola followed suit with Chase, grabbing the pillows off the couch, and the three held it in front of their faces. Michael and James grabbed their notebooks to act as shields and had their highlighters uncapped and aimed at him. Daring him to try it with them.

Quinn grabbed his chin, glaring at him. "You're just saying that to make me angry, and I don't like it."

"Well, I don't like Winston, but clearly you do," he slapped her hand away from his face. Normally he loved her touch, but right now, he didn't want to be around her. He turned his back to her and went to grab his bag.

"I do not like Winston," She grabbed his bicep before he could walk away and turned him back around. "Do I admire his intellect, of course, but that is it."

Logan scoffed, "If you wanted to admire someone's intellect, I could have printed you out a picture of my brain, but that's one Christmas present you won't be getting anymore." He pushed her hand off him and tried to leave but was stopped again, this time by her moving to stand in front of him.

"You're being ridiculous," she scolded him, her cheeks starting to become flushed from their argument.

"Then why are you wasting your time with me when you could be with your precious, Winston?" this time, he didn't bother trying to leave; instead, he wanted to hear a definite answer from her.

Quinn screamed through gritted teeth, "You are acting like such a dunderhead," Logan seemed taken aback by her words, mostly because he didn't really understand what it was that she just called him. "Do I like spending time with Winston, yes? Do I like him better than you? No! You're the one I love, and I'm hurt you'd think so little of me." She blinked away some angry tears that were starting to form. The next cure she was going to work on was keeping girls from crying when getting angry.

Shagging his shoulders, Logan felt guilt start to form when he saw those tears gathering in the corner of her eyes. "Hey," he reached out to hold her but frowned when she stepped away from his hold. "I'm sorry okay," he sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as he looked up at the ceiling, trying to find the right words. He didn't want to make her cry anymore. "I didn't mean to yell. I just don't like you spending all your time with that guy." If possible, he hated the guy even more than before. Before he arrived, Quinn and him were happy. They never would have had this stupid fight if he never showed up. The moment the Italian super genius had walked onto campus and had given her that bouquet of flowers, Logan felt an itch in his chest that he couldn't stop. He didn't like this feeling, and it was not something he knew how to deal with.

Quinn sighed, rubbing her eyes to get rid of the accumulated tears. "Look, I know I've been spending a lot of time with Winston, and I'm sorry I made you feel that I prefer his company more than I do you," she reached her hand out, relief flooding her when his fingers touched hers. She had almost forgotten how nice it felt to hold his hands. It really had been too long. "It's just I enjoyed having someone to talk to about science, chemistry, and engineering that I lost track of everything else."

"What are you talking about? You can talk about that stuff with me." She's mentioned so many scientific facts with him and their group that he's lost track of how many times he's had to look up what she was talking about. Even before they started dating, he would try to remember some of what she said so he could find out what it meant later on.

She smiled softly at him, "Yes, but you and the others usually change the subject or tell me I'm being too weird or just fall asleep." She looked at her boyfriend and their group of friends, who had lowered their shields and were now focusing on the two. "Zoey and Lola can talk about fashion or celebrity gossip for hours. You and the guys can go on and on about the latest sporting events or movies you wanna see. I don't really get to do that when it comes to science, so when I got the chance too, I guess I got a little carried away." She gave his hand one final squeeze before she walked out of the lounge and headed to her dorm. This night had been a very long and emotionally taxing one, and right now, all she wanted to do was take a hot shower and go to bed.

Logan watched her go, hand twitching and mouth opening in closing, trying to figure out something to say. Anything to stop her from leaving, but he was frozen in place. His big mouth had gotten him into this mess, and now he couldn't use it to figure out a way to fix it. Groaning, he turned around to join his friends on the ground, sitting across the table from where the others were seated. "I'm an idiot." He put his face in his hands to sulk.

It was rare, but Zoey felt bad for the guy. "Hey, it'll be okay."

He picked his head up enough to glare. "How so? I basically pushed her even further away and closer to that loser genius." He could kick himself right now for making her cry like that. He felt lower than dirt. Now because of his insecurities, Quinn was probably gonna dump him and fall in love with Winston and have genius babies together.

"Well, I mean, things could be worse." Chase offered, trying to help his friend feel somewhat better.

Logan sighed, dropping his face from his hands and slamming them on the table. "How? How could anything be possibly worse than what I just did?" he wanted an answer.

Chase grimaced when he realized what that answer was. "I do not know." He gave an apologetic smile as Logan dropped his head onto the lounge table. He really had a gift for putting his foot in his mouth.

"Go talk to her," James put a comforting hand on his former roommate's shoulder, making the latter lift his head and look up. "Tell Quinn how you really feel, and maybe this time, don't sound like a total jerk."

Logan glared at the blond and scoffed, "And would you want to see me after I almost made you cry in a lounge full of people?"

"Dude, there are some days when I barely want to see you," he was known as honest James back home; sometimes, that got him in trouble, and other times, he lost friends because of it. Even now, as Logan looked insulted at what he said, he knew his words were harsh but needed to be said. He always believed that honesty was the best policy. "Look, the point is that even when you and Quinn were still being all secretive, you were still acting like a jerk some days, but Quinn somehow managed to fall in love with you. I doubt one stupid fight will be enough to make her break up with you." The girl, in some way, shape, or form, found qualities in Logan that made her want to be with the rich snob of a guy, and being with her made him seem to be a better person. He thought he had found love with Zoey but realized it wasn't meant to be. With Quinn and Logan, he can see them going all the way.

Logan sat up straight, no longer moping on the table or looking totally defeated. "Okay, but how do I make it up to her? I really doubt a simple, I'm sorry, is going to work." If someone had acted to him like he did to Quinn, he would never want to talk to that person again. He just hoped Quinn felt differently.

Zoey had a lightbulb moment. "Chemistry!"

"What about it?" Lola asked, confused about what her friend could mean. She really hoped it didn't involve anything dangerous.

"Logan is super smart when it comes to chemistry!" she said, pointing at the curly-haired boy.

This statement only made his frown return. "Hey, I thought we were all in agreement that we don't talk about that." He did not like being reminded of that time when he tutored her, and in return, she let his roommate put a rat down his pants.

"But there is somebody who does want to talk with you about it," Zoey told him, hoping he may get the hint and realize. The blank look on his face told her that she had to guide him home on this one. "Quinn!" she yelled; this time, she was the one slamming her hands on the table. "Quinn is the one who wants to talk chemistry with you!"

The group all lit up when she said this. "Hey, that's right!" Lola said with glee, happy that she understood where the conversation was going. Logan wasn't the only one who was confused about what Zoey was saying. "She just said she wishes to have someone to talk all science stuff with. You could be that somebody."

"I don't know," he ran one hand through his curly locks, "Quinn is like super smart and sure I know my stuff, but like I don't know what she knows." It was rare for Logan Reese to doubt himself, but even he had to admit that there was no way he could get on the same level as Quinn. She was beyond brilliant.

"You have to try," Zoey encouraged him; she didn't like seeing her best friend hurt, and as much as she was mad at Logan for making her friend cry, she also understood where he was coming from.

Lola nodded in agreement, "You could do a whole big romantic gesture!" she began to think of all the ways they could help woo the girl back and make her forgive him. "What if you take some chemicals and spell out, I Love You in a cloud?"

"Ohh, or maybe clone Quinn's alpaca so that she can have one on campus and one at home." Michael clapped his hands at the thought of having an alpaca at their school. He still missed his horse friend, but having an alpaca would be a good close second.

James could only laugh at his friend's suggestions. "Maybe he should try doing something more realistic and less science fiction. Flowers are always a good start." It was a simple gesture but could never go wrong.

Lola rolled her eyes, unhappy that he called their ideas bad and unrealistic. "Flowers are so basic, though!"

While his friend talked amongst themselves, Logan began thinking of how he could win Quinn back and make her forgive him. "I got it!" he exclaimed, jumping from his spot on the floor and rushing out of the lounge. He had a phone call to make and a credit card to use.

The five friends watched him go, a little annoyed that he didn't bother sharing with them what he had come up with. They just hoped it wasn't anything too outrageous.

Zoey and Lola knew they would hear about what happened from Quinn, and then they'll tell everyone else.

"So, Logan is really good at chemistry?" James asked; now that they were alone, he wanted to know if that was really true.

Zoey nodded, "Oh yeah, he is like one of the best chemistry students here." She could recall how he tutored her and how easy he made it seem.

"Huh," to say James was shocked would be an understatement. He certainly did not see that coming. "That's a little bit freaky, but okay." The others nodded, all remembering how surprised and in total disbelief they were when they found out the guy who seemed to take pride in not being smart was actually acing one subject.

"Hey, when he told Quinn that he wasn't going to give her a photocopy of his brain, you don't think he meant that? Do you?" Chase asked, thinking back to that one part of the argument that left him speechless and slightly concerned. Remembering that part too, the others all muttered, hoping that wasn't the case, and felt very weirded out by that thought.
