Bobby was becoming a bit impatient, waiting for something to happen. He sat reading up on vampires and demons for as long as he could. Trust was he was boring himself. He already knew everything there was to know about these creatures, but he needed something to pass the time. Both of the boys were zonked out and the girls were pretty occupied with guarding them in all. So stubborn those sisters were. Aislin refused to leave Sam's side on the off chance he woke up while she was away from him and Vala was still at the hospital with Dean, waiting for him to wake up from his surgery.

He'd had enough sitting around on his arse and waiting. Bobby decided he was going to go on a supply run while he still had the time.

The aging hunter trudged up the worn stairs to the spare bedroom where Aislin sat guard of her self-proclaimed charge. The door was still open, so Bobby began to speak before reaching the top step.

"Aislin, I'm heading out. Make sure you—"

Bobby stopped talking when he poked his head around the doorframe of the room. Aislin was sound asleep, in the rickety old chair Bobby kept for no apparent reason. Sam was still in his coma, though now he'd begun to snore. There was no point in talking to them if they were just going to sleep through the conversation, so Bobby headed back to the kitchen, deciding to leave a note for Aislin in the hopes that she'd see it when she woke up.

Bobby drove into town, picking up everything on his mental list. The bed of his truck was half full of rock salt, something that was hard to come by during summer in North Dakota. But this was Bobby we're talking about. He could get anything. There was one other stop he wanted to make on his way home, to visit a friend holding some bullets for the colt. But first he wanted to stop off and check on Dean and Vala.

Bobby wondered how they were doing, spending all that time together. He knew how much each disliked the other, almost to a fault. Vala and Dean had been at each other's throats since before they'd met. Now they had spent the last six hours together and Bobby hadn't heard a word from either of them.

He just wanted some reassurance that they hadn't killed each other.

Bobby lied his way to Dean's room, telling the on call nurses that he was Dean's father and had just drove six hours to get there. Bobby was pro at making women swoon to get his way. When she gave him a crooked look, pausing as if to suggest he was fibbing, he gently took his cap off, placing it over his heart and smiling worriedly, letting his eyes well up slightly.

"Tell me miss, how is my boy doing?"

The nurse at the desk melting and rattled off Dean's room number, telling Bobby what little she knew of Dean's condition. None of it really helped him any. She wasn't in on the real reasons Dean was brought him. Bobby would have to talk to Vala to get the rundown.

But that wasn't going to happen any time soon.

Bobby found room 237 easily enough, as it was close to the stairs. A good idea, he thought, in case they needed to get a way quick.

The door was unlocked, so Bobby pushed it open slowly, trying to make as little noise as possible, and trying not to wake Dean, as he figured he'd still be sleeping off his aesthetic.

He was, however, surprised to see that Vala too had fallen asleep, kind of awkwardly leaning against the bed and her arm, her hair having fallen all around her.

"What the hell is with you guys."

Bobby ignored the sleeping beauties and pulled Dean's chart from the foot of his bed and read it. It told him everything he needed to know. Dean was going to be fine, a little sore for a few weeks probably, but he'll live.

Bobby smiled and put the chart back where he found it. He looked up to the couple in the room. It was then that he saw they were holding hands. Both of them fast asleep and still holding hands.

He had to chuckle to himself. Bobby knew them both better than anybody, even better than Sam and Aislin at times. He knew they were practically the same person. Both stubborn, hot-headed and determined to see things through, while at the same time devoted, loving and passionate about what mattered to them. They were both expert hunters, taking care of their younger siblings while trying to save the world one monster at a time.

Seeing them now Bobby knew he'd done the right thing, even if the results were slightly off the mark. Bobby knew Sam and Dean were hunting the coven in Valley Springs when the girls called him to let him know they were passing through the state and looking for a job. He'd told them about the vampires, knowing Vala's soft spot for the bloodsuckers and told them which day would be best to attack, telling the girls he'd done a bit of research on it while knowing it was because the boys would be there at that time. He loved when things started to fall into place.

He thought about leaving them a little message saying he'd stopped by, but changed him mind before looking for a writing implement. There was a moment here, and he didn't want to ruin it.

Instead he left, the same way he's entered, giving a polite wave to the nurse at the call desk. If it'd not been for her, he'd of never known about their little secret.
