Chapter 55.

Throughout the entire march to Regna Ferox, the Shepherds spent a great amount of time training in My Pokehome, this was doubly true for Gaius and Panne, who had to catch up to everyon else, eventually those two were able to some what catch up to the rest of the Shepherds and learned a few new tricks.

Panne was also able to relax more around me, the twins and the Pokémon, or at the very least, she doesn't look like she's a second away from bolting away from us anymore, Panne came to understand that, we don't mean her harm, on the contrary.

The Pokémon and I were very much like her in terms of mentally, I mean, I'm not human, I'm a Dragon, so I know where she's coming from, the Pokémon are beasts by nature and Panne saw that they're intelligent, that showed her that as long as you don't provoke them, the Pokémon will always be playful and kind in nature.

Gaius had a healthy fear and respect for the Pokémon, which in hindsight, is very normal, after all he saw first hand what they can do, one funny thing though, the Pokémon seem to love to get to his candy stash, they all steal from him and whenever he tries to hide his sweets the always find it.

He gets annoyed about it too, but in the end he accepts this as a sort of Karmic punishment for his life as a Thief, I find it hilarious though and everytime I see a Pokémon eating a Lollipop or sucking on a candy, I can't help but chuckle.

Fun fact, Mewtwo likes Lollipops, who knew? either way, these two new additions to the Shepherds were already settling with the rest of the group and have learned to fight in teamwork with everyone in the Shepherds.

Oh, the first time Panne took on her beast form, she surprised everyone, though she was then immediately kidnapped by the Eeveelutions, who for some reason, really liked to play with the enormous rabbit form of Panne.

She tried to say no, but she was then hit by a puppy eyes combo from all the Eeveelutions, and well, you can be the most cold hearted person in the world, but there's no way anyone can take that and not bend.

So Panne now spends a lot of time playing with the Eeveelutions, she might not say it, but I knew she's having fun, I can feel her emotions after all.

The next day.

After a day of marching, everyone went back to My Pokéhome to train, rest or just hang out, today I decided to take a walk and see what sort of crazy situation I find, ever since the Shepherds started using my Pokémon, it has become even more lively.

So, right now I wanted to see what I can find, only to be surprised, when I saw Miriel walking over towards Robin and suddenly trip, Robin and I winced when we saw her faceplant the ground hard.

The both us, immediately went to help her up while she was groaning in pain, Robin was the first one to get to her and quickly began to check on her "that looked like a pretty bad spill, Miriel, are you hurt?".

Miriel sighed as I finally reachedher andhelped her up with Robin, once she was on her feet I put her witches' hat back on her head and heal her face, while she amswered Robin's questions "a minor contusion, benign".

Robin sighed and then looked around, the reason Miriel probably fell, was because she was walking around with a lot of things in her arms and all of those things were now on the floor "everything you were carrying went flying, I see your herbs, some papers, a... what is this? a book? a journal?".

Robin picked up a book, while I helped pick up everything else, though Miriel panicked when she saw Robin about to open the book he picked up from the ground "unhand that, sir!".

Robin jumped in surprise, but quickly realized that maybe opening a book that didn't belong to him was a bad idea, so he immediately apologized "sorry! sorry, I didn't realize it was so important".

Miriel however looked a bit perplexed by Robin callong the book important, which was confusing "important? hmm...".

Miriel then just silently stared at the book for a few seconds, which had Robin and I even more confused, that wasn'ta normal reactionafter all "... okay, that's weird".

Robin nodded in agreement to what I said and decided to call out to Miriel in hopes of snapping her out of whatever had her attention like this "Miriel?".

Miriel looked up from the book and nodded to Robin "I suppose it does bear some import, yes, it's a lodestar of sorts, one that points the way to the truth".

Robin was now intrigued, which is a very normal reaction from him, given how much of a Bookworm he is "wow, who, wrote it? a famous Mage or something?".

Miriel gave Robin a very small smile and then said "not famous at all, no, the author was my mother".

Robin nodded and looked at the book "ah, the explains the rough binding, er, no offense intended, still, that's amazing, was your mother a Mage as well, or perhaps a scientist?".

Miriel tilted her head and looked perplexed with Robin "what is the impetus for you inquiry?".

Robin raised an eyebrow at what Miriel you asked "impetus for my... you mean, why do I ask? er, I don't know... I'm curious? wouldn't most people be?".

Robin turned to look at me and I nodded in agreement "I mean, your mother wrote a book, that's a conversation starter if I ever heard one"

Miriel nodded "an automatic reaction to conversational stimulus, I see..."

Robin sweatdropped at the response we got from Miriel "um, did I say something strange?".

Miriel shook her head "curious, perhaps, meriting closer study, certainly, spontaneous reactive curiosity, fascinating, but what's is the underlying mechanism?".

Robin deadpanned at Miriel, I just chuckled because, this is jusg how Miriel tends to behave so I'm somewhat used to it, Robin then sighed and said "... I really think you're reading too much into this".

Miriel just smiled and quickly left, completely ignoring Robin's remark, Robin shook his head while I just grinned and said "she's a very studious one huh?".

Robin just nodded and then shook his head, that was a really weird conversation after all, and he can't quite get over it just yet.

After that weird conversation, Robin and I went our own way, he went to the Library, something about getting a Dictionary or something so he won't be blindsided by Miriel's way of speaking again and I went back to my walk, some time later, over a big open field, I saw Sully and Frederick having a conversation.

Sully grinned at Frederick and then asked him " did you see me out there today, Frederick?".

Frederick nodded, like all the Shepherds, Sully has been training a lot and she's one of the ones that has really improved a lot, and it really shows, something that Frederick seems to agree with "truly impressive work! it seems you've made a breakthrough".

Sulky smiled and nodded "its thanks to what you said before, I've always felt like I needed to be better than everyone, you know? if there was one person better than me at anything, I considered it a failing and when I couldn't beat you, I let it get into my head in a big way".

Frederick nodded, he seems to understand the situation well and quickly began to speak hus mind about it " there's is a certain strength in such a mind set, methinks".

Sully chuckled and nodded "I admit, it made me strong back then, but now, it's just holding me back, I didn't train all these years to beat you, I've trained to be someone you can rely on as an equal".

Frederick smiled aand gave Sully a firm nod " and you have become a fine soldier, I fear nothing when you are by my side".

Sully seemed proud to hear Frederick say that to her before continuing to speak "when I stopped to really see how I felt, it was pretty obvious, especially with how hard Rean, Tione and Tiona have been training us.

Anyway, it's all thanks to that and to your teachings, so... thanks".

Frederick nodded and then smiled as he said "you are a student no more, Sully, but a master in your own right, from this day on, we fight as equals".

Sully grinned and nodded "you're damn right we do! maybe together we can someday beat Rean in a spar".

Frederick began to nervously sweat but didn't say anything, I on the other hand, welcome the challenge at any time, I don't mind being someone that my friends inspire to overcome some day, in fact, it sounds fun.

The next day.

Everyone woke up early in the morning and immediately began to march to Regna Ferox, a few hours later we arrived at a location known as Breakneck Pass, though Lissa soon began to complain "ugh, my poor feet, I got blisters the size of eggs!".

Chrom rolled his eyes at Lissa and said "oh, its not that bad, Lissa, just a healthy little stroll!" Lissa pouted at her brother, but Chrom ignored her in favor of questioning Robin and I "how are you two holding up?'

Robin sighed "my legs feel like pudding... your endurance astounds me, Chrom".

I shrugged "I'm fine, though this pass is quite elevated and very hard to walk on, perhaps I should Enchant everyone's footwear to make marching easier...".

Chrom smiled and then turned to Robin "Hah! so Robin, since Rean is okay, should I carry?".

Lissa waved her arms around and then glared at Chrom while throwing a stomping tantrum "you can can carry me!... no, seriously, someone carry me!".

An old man who had been traveling with us since we left Ylisstol frowned a bit towards Lissa, I mostly ignored this guy and everytime everyone would go to My Pokéhome to rest, I would put him in stasis, wherever we stopped to rest.

To me, he's just a tag alone and no one important for me to worry about, besides, there was something that annoyed me from this Old man.

The old man hummed, which caught Frederick's attention "is something troubling you, Hierarch? you keep glacing up at the peaks".

Now that Frederick mentioned it, this old man has been constantly staring up at the cliff and what not for some odd reason, the Old man of course jumped in surprise at being addressed to so suddenly "hmmm? oh, I'm just a b-bit nervous, I'm afraid, gh-ghastly times, these!".

I narrowed my eyes as I felt the old man's emotions shift, meanwhile, Robin decided to speak up "Chrom, who is that?".

Chrom turned his head towards Robin and answered his question "the Hierarch? he's been a friend of the House of Ylisse for many years, he guided Emmeryn during the early years of her rule, why do you ask?".

Robin frowned and then said "I can't put my finger on it, but something feels off".

Suddenly, I sensed multiple energy signatures suddenly appear around us, meaning, the enemy just teleported to this location "... son of a bitch! everyone! we have enemies coming! they just teleported!".

Everyone, immediately got into position and got ready to attack, just in time too, as a big number of enemies began to rush over toward us from all over the pass, a Plegian Barbarian laughed out loud before speaking to us "time to die, princey!".

Chrom narrowed his eyes as he looked over to the big army that just teleported around us "Plegian Soldiers? damn! how did they know we were here?"

I frowned and then turned to look at the old man, who looked very nervous and scared right now "it was him, he betrayed you Chrom".

The Old man gasped and shook his head "I would never! who are you to accuse me of such a thing? for all I know you were the one to betray us! maybe you've been a spy all along!".

Chrom turned around and punched the old man in the gut so hard, that he puked blood and fell on the ground a second later, Chrom glared at the old man as he layed on the ground and said "... Rean would never betray us... I'll deal with you later, for now stay there on the ground".

With that said the old man fell unconscious from the pain and Chrom then turned to face the enemy "everyone! attack!".

The battle began sion after Chrm ordered to attack, the Shepherds immediately clashed with the enemies in front of them and took them out quickly, but before they could move on, the Plegian Army's general laughed from on top of his Wyvern, moments later he sniffed the air and said "ahhhhhhh... smell that men? the winds of Fortune are blowing our way!".

The Wyvern rider laughed and pointed at Chrom "looks like you took care of that traitorous old man! good for you prince! personally I would have killed the coward! but oh well! it's not like it matters anyways! your all going to die soon enough!.

Now! hand over the Fire Emblem and your pretty leader and spare yourselves a gory end!".

Chrom frowned and turned his gaze towards me, I understood right away what he wanted and nodded, I quickly tap the ground with my foot, Giratina, who was in my shadow, understood my signal and immediately dragged Emmeryn and Phila to the Reverse world to keep her safe".

With that done, Chrom nodded at me and then turned his attention to the enemy, with a single wave of his free hand, the Shepherds went to the attack, the Plegian Soldiers were shocked and confused about how Emmeryn suddenly disappeared into her own shadow along with Phila.

Which only served as an opening to the Shepherds who furiously attacked them, Robin raised his hand towards the sky and quickly began to chant for his new favorite magic spell "I, who stand in the full light of the heavens, command thee, who opens the gates of hell Come forth, divine lightning! This ends now! Indignation!!".

A giant magic circle spread out from underneath a large group of enemies, a few seconds later a massive lightning bolt dropped from the sky on top of the of the Plegian Army.

Upon impact, the Lightning bolt exploded into a massive dome of lightning, the enemies caught inside by Robin's master level spell didn't even have time to scream, they were instantly disintegrated from the power behind Robin's spell.

The rest of the enemies were flashbanged by the brightness of the lightning bolt and the loud boom unleashed by its summoning, the rest of the Shepherds quickly moved to attacked them, while the enemies were unable to see or hear.

Meanwhile Robin huffed and seemed out of breath, so he quickly ate an Orange Gel, a Master Level Spell like Indignation, takes a massive amount of Mana to cast and even with the Enchantments on Robin's clothes and ring, it still takes a lot of him to cast such a highly Mana expensive spell.

So, to counter the affects of casting Indignation, Robin now carries quite a few Orange and Pinapples Gels, now that he's recovered his Mana a bit, he immediately joined the rest of the Shepherds into the battle, without any worries.

For this battle, Tione, Tiona and I stayed back, this is a perfect opportunity to see how much everyone has improved and what else do we have to work on, though I still kept a close eye on the battlefield, it seems like they really prepared for us for this ambush.

The sheer number of enemies around the area was already ridiculous enough, but there were still Dark Mages, keeping small Magic circles activated to be used for teleportation, I'm sure everyone noticed it, but if they don't deal with them soon, then I'll have to do it.

It wouldn't be any good if the Shepherds get swamped by Plegian Soldiers, so for now, I'll just wait and see what the Shepherds do in this battle and how they handled it.

Chrom was the first one to reach the blind and deaf enemies, as soon as he got within reach of a group of enemies, he blurred out sight and zigzaged between his enemies, while cutting them down, the Plegian Soldiers screamed in pain and then dropped dead a second later.

Chom stoped behind the now dead enemies and stood up straight, he suddenly heard wings flapping behind him, he smiled and raised a hand all the way up, Sumia suddenly swooped down flying from the sky and reached down for Chrom's hand with her own.

Both clasped hand soon after and Sumia lifted Chrom off the ground and swung him to seat behind her, Chrom grabbed hold of his fiancé's waist and smiled "nice catch Sumia!".

Sumia cheerfully smiled and nodded "yeah! now lets go get those Wyvern Knights!".

Chrom grinned and nodded, Sumia's Pegasus flapped her wings hard and flew fast towards the Wyvern Riders who were also flying towards them, these enemies noticed the only Flying unit the Shepherds had and though it would be easy to bring down.

However, the soon to be, Husband and Wife had the perfect counter to these Wyvern Knights, both Sumia and Chrom gathered Mana into their weapons, Falchion and Sumia's Enchanted Steel Spear began to glow with with said Mana.

But then, both Sumia and Chrom took a breath and focus their will into their Mana, the Mana around their weapon shifted and then turned green as a sharp wind began to engulf the weapons, this Technique is called Elemental Infusion.

A Magical Technique thought to those of the Shepherds who did not have a talent for Magic or didn't have the Mana reserves for spells, it was Rean's way of giving these Shepherds the ability to be able to take advantage of Elemental Weakness.

Flying units are weak to Wind Magic, so Sumia and Chrom fused the Wind Element to the their weapons and immediately rushed to attack the Wyvern Riders, the Plegian Wyvern Riders saw this and immediately had their Wyverns attack the couple with Fireballs from the Wyvern's mouth.

Sumia narrowed her eyes at the upcoming projectile, she let go of the reigns of her Pegasus, while Chrom held onto her tight, Sumia spun her Spear above her head for a few moments and the swung it hard towards the Fireballs "haah!".

A sharp green wave of wind was shot from the tip of her Spear at high speed, the wind blast, destroyed the Fireballs and kept going through the sky, the Wyvern rider panicked seeing the Technique coming their way, but only a few were able to dodge it.

Those that didn't, were sliced apart by Sumia's sharp Wind Blast, Chrom whistled impresed by her Technique "seess like you got that Technique down, Sumia".

Sumia grabbed hold of her Pegasus' reigns again and smiled at Chrom "yup! Rean is a great teacher! I can do it well enough, with Wind, Water and even Fire, the other Elements are a bit difficult for me to use though".

Chrom grinned "three Elements is good, I'm sure you will get the others down soon enough".

Sumia nodded and then got ready "now hold on love! we still have more Wyvern Riders coming our way".

Chrom nodded and watched as his future wife made her Pegasus charge forward with a confident smile on her face, Chrom couldn't help but think, that Sumia looked very beautiful and impressive right now.

Meanwhile.

Lissa was riding behind Maribelle who was riding her horse into battle and both were moving about the entire battlefield in high speed, while blasting enemies with Photon a Beginner level Light Elemental spell, most Barbarians and Thieves were taken down by their spells, since they didn't have the Magical resistance to take a spell coming from both healers.

However, a group of Archers appeared above a rocky cliff and immediately fired a barrage of arrows at Maribelle and Lissa, Maribelle noticed the arrows and quickly raised her staff up "Guardian Field!".

A green Mana barrier immediately materialize around Lissa and Maribelle, both healer saw the arrows crashed againts the Mana barrier and bounce off, seeing as Maribelle was holding the barrier up, Lissa decided to try the new spell Rean had taught her and had been practicing for a while now.

So Lissa raised her staff and pointed it towards the Archers on top of the rocky cliff, she then quickly began to chant "Come out from the void, divine light, and brush away all creation! Divine Streak!.".

A white glyph appeared in front of Lissa's staff and from it a beam of light shot forward and smashed directly where the Archers where shooting at both healer from, Lissa quickly moved the beam to the side hitting each Archer and killing them upon contact, though as soon as she took them all out she stopped the spell.

Lissa huffed and began to sweat, like Robin, Lissa can't cast Divine Streak without using an Orange Gel soon after, her Mana reserves aren't that big yet, but she can cast it and control it pretty well, to the point that she can move the beam of light freely.

Maribelle brought down her barrier and had her horse start galloping, while Lissa ate an Orange Gel, Maribelle smiled and said "that was an impressive spell Lissa dear".

Lissa smiled at her friend and nodded "I had Rean teach it to me, I wanted something that could pierce barriers or armor with, and Divine Streak is perfect for that!".

Maribelle nodded and made a mental note to ask Rean to teach her that spell as well, it certainly looked strong and very useful, especially against armored enemies.

Sully and Stahl rode forward on their horses and Spear ready to pierce through the enemy, Sully's Spear was engulfed in flames and as she rode forward she thrusted her Spear forward, unleashing a spiral of flames towards the enemies trying to get on her way.

Stahl's Spear had blue lightning dancing around the blade and as he rode besides Sully, he swung his Spear forward, a wave of blue lighting shot from his Spear's edge, towards the enemies in his way.

Red fire and blue lightning dance around the battle as Sully and Stahl rode into battle at high speed, the Thieves, Barbarians and Archers caught by their Elemental attacks died being burned alive, or shocked until their hearts or brain stoped.

Sully grinned and then loudly said "Hah! using Fire Like this, is fun!".

Stahl nodded "I must admit, I've always been a bit jealous of Mages, but thanks to Rean we can also do things like these!"

Ricken and Miriel stood side by side and together they began to chant the same spell "Slumber in this horrid sepulcher of merciful ice, Frigid Coffin!".

Icicles formed around a big group of Plegian Soldiers, trapping them within the formation of ice and frost, soon after, a large ice shard coalesced above then and launches itself at an angle into the Plegian Soldiers, shattering the ice around them and killing everyone trapped by the formation of Frost and Ice.

Rick grinned in excitement seeing their new spell work so well "amazing! I can feel how much the temperature dropped from us only shifting our Mana into Ice Elemental Mana!".

Miriel nodded "yes, this certainly is quite the shift, I can even see my breath... when I heard of Ice Magic I had a hard time believing it existed, after all, I have never heard of a Mage capable of using such an Element.

Much less find a Tome with an Ice Spell in it, Fire, Lightning, Wind and Darkness... those are the Elements only used by Mages of this world".

Ricken nodded "but Rean can use more than those... I wonder how the Magic users of his world thought about using all of these Elements?".

Miriel nodded "yes, I'm curious too, I will be asking rean more about this later".

Both Lon'qu and Gaius were blurring in and out of sight while cutting down unsuspecting enemies, before they could even notice anything was wrong, both moved like shadows in the middle of the battlefield, no sound was made as they killed enemy after enemy.

Though, someone else was also doing the same thing, however the impressive thing about this, is that Kellam was doing without any conscious on his part, he just moved through the battlefield unnoticed and unheard, his training with Rean and his Pokémon taught him how to take advantage of his ability to become invisible.

Now more confident and sure of himself, Kellam moved through the battlefield and took out enemies with ease and without alerting anyone of his presence, eventually he found the Dark Mages who were using Magic circles to teleport more Plegian Soldiers to their location.

So Kellam immediately moved to killed them all, the Dark Mages didn't even noticed they were being take down one by one, and soon enough, Kellam killed all of them, stopping the enemy from getting more reinforcements.

Kellam, feeling a bit proud of himself, stared at his work and then nodded to himself before taking off towards a new area, these three shadows in the battlefield, would go to kill a great number of enemies and said enemies wouldn't even noticed their numbers drop.

Vaike was jumping from cliff to cliff, while cutting down any enemies that were hiding behind the rock formations or waiting to jump at his friends, Vaike suddenly jumped to the other side of a cliff, jumping over a big gap and landed knee first against an Archer.

He wasted no time and then spinned kicked a Barbarian off the cliff and to his death from the fall to the bottom of the cliff, two Wyvern Riders suddenly swooped down from the sky and aimed to stab Vaike with their Spears, only to be shot down by two energy arrows.

Vaike grinned and then waved at Virion who was down below the Cliffs and shooting enemies with the new Bow Rean had made for him, a bow that can convert the Mana in the air into energy arrows, giving Virion infinity ammo.

The arrows themselves were also strong and can explode upon impact if Virion wants them too, he just needs to chant 'boom' before firing an arrow, Virion saw Vaike waved at him, so he gave him a nod and a smile before going back to shooting down enemies.

Vaike grinned, then he began to grab enormous boulders around him and throw them down towards the enemies, the Plegian Soldiers didn't expect boulders to rain down on them, so they didn't noticed until it was too late, they were crushed to death by the Avalanche thrown at them by Vaike's barehands.

Panne took on her giant beast bunny form and was running around the battlefield, unlike the Shepherds who trained in Martial Arts, Weapon skills or Magic, she instead, trained and learned more directly from the Pokémon, more specifically, the Eeveelutions.

Those adorable little Pokémon, taught Panne some of their moves, so as Panne was suddenly ambushed by a group of Barbarian, she shook her body and her fur hardened, then shot itself all around her.

Pin Missile, a technique taught to her by Jolteon, the Barbarians were immediately barraged by the sharp fur of Panne, blood splattered everywhere as the Barbarians dropped dead by being stabbed through by her Technique.

But Panne didn't stop there, she suddenly roared as her body was suddenly engulfed in water, she took a step forward and she blurred out of sight thanks to Aqua Jet a technique taught to her by Vaporeon.

The water engulfed Panne barreled against a group of Plegian Soldiers and sent them all flying everywhere, she stopped and shook her fur to get the water off her fur, Panne suddenly grinned and then jumped into a cliff to continue with her attack.

I smiled as I watched the Shepherds use everything they have learned from me, the twins and Pokémon, I'm sure they haven't noticed it yet but, they have single handedly killed an army worth of Plegian Soldiers.

Even Donnel was running around and battling enemy after enemy, not a surprise though, he is after all, among those who have gotten sway stronger through our training.

The Shepherds are sixteen in number and they're fighting against hundreds and winning, Robin's Indignation Spell alone, took out around forty Plegian Soldiers, the Shepherds can no longer be considered human now, not when they can do this.

Not anymore, they're already reaching Middle Class levels of power, and as anyone can see, that's enough to set them really apart from the rest of the humans of this world, though some will soon hit a wall and their growth will slow down, but that will be gone once their classes evolve.

Robin no longer has that issue since he's a Grandmaster, which is why he can pull off a Master Level Spell like Indignation and not die in the process, however, my thoughts were interrupted when I sensed someone approaching the battlefield from behind.

Tione and Tiona sense whoever was approaching as well, so they turned towards the direction the new arrival is coming from and soon saw who was approaching, Tiona pointed "look, it's a Pegasus!".

Tione nodded "yeah, and the rider looks tired and very injured! something is going on Rean!".

I nodded, I knew exactly what was happening and who was approaching our location, it's Cordelia, a young Pegasus Knight, one that is here because her unit sacrifice themselves so she could get away and send word of what had happened.

Cordelia stopped her Pegasus and gasped as she watched the battle going on in front of her "No!... Plegian's here as well?".

Cordelia looked around and soon noticed Chrom fighting with Sumia, so she called out to him as loud as she could "Prince Chrom! beware! enemy reinforcements to the rear! they'll be upon us soon!".

Chrom barely heard Cordelia, but he did, he immediately turned his head towards me and yelled "Rean! help her!".

I nodded to Chrom and then I took off flying towards Cordelia, with Tione and Tiona following close behind, looks like I'm dealing with the enemy's reinforcements and helping Cordelia, but first I have to heal her.

She looks like she has seen better days, it's really a miracle that she made it this far, still, despite her condition, she was still able to gape at the fact that the Twins and I were flying towards her.

Wow! a chapter full if action and some fun time huh? I don't really have much to say, other than the Shepherds were able to show kusy how strong the have become with the help of Rean, Tione and Tiona, they're already pulling off stuff not seen before!.
