Meeting Under Cloak Of Darkness
Harry put his pajamas on his bed, "What is it, Lisa?" he asked.
"Can I please borrow Dad's old invisibility cloak?" Lisa asked.
"You playing private eye again?" Harry asked.
"Yes," Lisa answered. "and KC and I are both sharing a really strange feeling about Professor Moody."
"Okay." Harry said, handing the cloak to Lisa.
Lisa put the cloak around her entire body rendering herself completely invisible.
Lisa approached the appointed meeting spot, ahead of her she could just make out the form of KC moving cautiously through the shadows of the Herbology greenhouses.
Smart, Lisa thought. if you don't have an invisibility cloak, do the next best thing, stick to the shadows.
Lisa seemed to appear out of nowhere when she took off the cloak in front of KC.
"Hey, KC," Lisa said in a voice barely above a whisper. "what's up?"
"Lisa, this may sound crazy," KC said. "but I think something is wrong with Professor Moody, his mannerisms weren't exactly the same, and he was far more short tempered than usual, strangest of all he didn't even seem like he cared whether or not we actually learned anything in his class!"
Lisa nodded, remembering these things herself, "You're right, and that's definitely not like him!" she said.
"So we agree," KC said. "we need to investigate Professor Moody."
"Preferably without getting caught at it!" Lisa replied.
KC check the ornate watch she wore on a chain around her neck.
Meanwhile back in the Hufflepuff common room Michael looked at his pocket watch for the fifteenth time in the last five minutes.
Come on, guys, he thought to himself. we don't have much time before curfew!
In his his other hand was a letter that Professor Sprout had given him near the entrance of the common room earlier. she said he must have dropped it earlier because it was addressed to him.
Michael didn't remember carrying any mail back from the great hall.
When he opened the letter his eyes bugged out at what it said: Congratulations, your name has been selected out of pot for the Hogwarts exchange student program with Ilvermorny!
"What," Michael cried. "I didn't put my name on the selection list for the exchange program! Lisa would never forgive me!"
Then, something occurred to him, Could somebody be trying to separated Lisa and Harry from their friends? he thought.
That was when KC emerged into the common room.
"What's that in your hand there, Michael?" she asked him.
Michael hid the letter, "It's nothing, KC." he lied.
