The Mysterious Letter

KC looked at Michael and raised an eyebrow.

"Michael," KC said in that tone of voice that let him know she wasn't buying it. "what is that letter behind your back?"

Michael sighed and handed KC the letter, "It's a letter from the faculty congratulating me for being selected, from the pot, to be part of the Hogwarts/Ilvermorny student exchange program." he told her.

"What," KC said, scanning the letter, "when did you do this?"

"I didn't, I promise," Michael insisted. "somebody must have put my name in that 'pot'."

"But who?" KC asked.

"I don't know," Michael said. "but I have a theory about the why."

"What's that?" KC asked.

"The old divide and conquer strategy," Michael replied. "someone is trying to separate the boy and girl who lived from their friends and allies."

"That could mean, that Hogwarts has been infiltrated by another one of You Know Who's flunkies." KC said.

The next morning, it was the middle of McGonagall's Transfiguration class.

But Lisa's mind wasn't on her classwork, she and her friends kept talking about Lisa's meeting with KC.

"Maybe Moody is under a charm or potion or something like that." Rafael whispered.

"That could be one explanation for Moody's strange behavior," Lisa nodded. "the harder thing to figure out is how we're supposed to investigate this without the teachers finding out!"

"Lisa's right," Carole said. "judging from the way Moody was watching us in the great hall last night and this morning, he's probably knows we're suspicious."

"Yep," Stevie said. "and he's probably got the whole faculty on high alert by now."

"Yeah that would be our luck," Liam said. "so what can we do? how do we investigate a teacher?"

"We need to meet with KC and the others." Lisa said.

"Miss Atwood," McGonagall's voice said, "please pay attention it's your turn."

"Oh yes Professor," said Lisa jumping slightly.

When Lisa tried to make the color change on the ribbon in front of her, nothing happened to the ribbon that is.

The emblem and color on Phil's uniform changed from Gryffindor to Slytherin.

"Uh Lisa?" Phill asked.

"Oops! Sorry, Phil!" Lisa exclaimed.

Once Phil's uniform was fixed, Lisa tried again.

After Transfiguration class ended, Rafael, Lisa, Stevie, Liam, Carole, and Phil all had a free period.

So they decided to meet up with Michael, Simon, Desi, Kristi, and KC in the courtyard to talk and play a good game of Gobstones.

Lisa saw that Michael had something in his hand.
