"Excellent idea, Hermione," Stevie said. "let's go!"
The Gryffindor crew met up with Cat and their friends from the other Houses as they headed toward the hospital wing.
When they got there, Michael was already in surgery.
KC was sitting there near Michael's bed staring at the spot where Michael had been.
"KC?" Lisa asked gently.
KC looked up and immediately got up to hug her friend.
"They took Michael into surgery a couple hours ago," KC said. "Laura, Michael's mother owns and runs that international Cruise Line Starr Luxury Cruises and she was in the Bahamas solving some paperwork problem when she got word about Michael, she just texted me that she'll be apparating shortly once she gets off work from her job."
"Good." Lisa said.
"I'm glad you guys are here, but why are you here." KC said with a look of realization. "you can't have finished your homework already, I got the same assignments and I'm not done yet!"
"We're in the middle of an unscheduled break." Stevie said to KC, all the Gryffindors in the room shot a brief glare at Liam.
"Why, what happened," KC asked. "and who smells a little like rotten eggs?"
Several Gryffindors, including Lisa, sheepishly held up their hands.
"Let me summarize," Stevie said. "Liam, invisibility potion, too much bog slime, Gryffindor common room."
"Stink bomb?" KC asked, nodding in understanding.
"Yep," Carole said. "Professor McGonagall went to get a neutralizing potion to clear out the Gryffindor common room, and it looks like we're all going to have to shower and burn our robes when we get back into Gryffindor tower."
"I think the neutralizer potion will clean your clothes too," KC said, her sense of humor returning a little. "no need to start a bonfire just yet."
"Guys I just had a thought," Liam exclaimed. "KC could be in trouble!"
"Why?" Lisa asked Liam, puzzled.
"Snape is not going to like it if KC doesn't show up for class in the morning," Liam replied. "despite the circumstances, you know how immovable he is!"
"Yeah, well Snape can go jump in the lake for all I care!" KC snapped, her temper flaring slightly, ",y first priority is helping Michael, and the way I'm feeling right now, not even Severus Snape would dare mess with me!"
Suddenly, there was a soft amused chuckle behind them.
They all turned and saw Professor McGonagall standing there.
"I came to let the Gryffindors know that their common room is stink bomb free," McGonagall said. "and when I saw and heard, Miss Lenoir, just now for a moment, I thought I was looking at Lily Evens!"
Harry and Lisa looked at each other and exchanged a smile, Evens was Lily Potter's maiden name.
That evening, Carole and Liam came into the Gryffindor common room from the courtyard.
"Are you finished up with your Potions homework, Liam Mate?" George asked.
