Visiting Hours
"You bet I did, Georgie Boy!" Liam exclaimed.
"And, Liam made no mistakes this time!" Carole added.
Lisa looked up from the book she was reading for leisure.
"It's good that we all have finished our homework assignments," Lisa said to Liam. "because I for one plan on going back to the hospital wing to visit with Professor Trelawney and Michael before classes begin, who's with me?"
Harry and Rafael raised their hands.
"I'm with you, Lise." Harry said.
"Me too, Lisa." Rafael agreed.
"Good, then, we'll all see Professor Trelawney and Michael tomorrow morning!" Stevie exclaimed.
The next morning bright and early, the nurses had just put the still sleeping Michael back in his bed.
Nathan sank down into the chair next to his son's bed.
The previous night had been the most grueling marathon surgery he had ever been through, but he wouldn't have trusted anyone else to do the operation.
Laura Bennett, Michael's mother was sitting Next to him, she had taken a red-eye apparition to get there as soon as word had reached her about her son.
Nathan had been in London at an international medical conference.
Madame Pomfrey walked up and after greeting Laura warmly, she turned to Doctor Bennett.
"All the preliminary tests seem to indicate that the surgery went even better than we could have hoped and that Michael is getting stronger by the minute. the new regen nano-tech is repairing the damage at an incredible rate!" Madam Pomfrey said.
"My son has always been a fighter too," Nate smiled tiredly. "it's not in his nature to give up-never has been."
Just then the door to the hospital wing opened and the Gryffindor gang as well as well as a couple of Hufflepuffs and a Ravenclaw walked into the room.
They made a beeline for the recovery ward and Michael's bed.
"How's Michael doing?" Lisa asked.
"Fortunately, even better than expected," Madame Pomfrey said. "though Michael will most likely have to learn to walk all over again."
"Don't worry about that," Lisa said. "we'll all help him with that!"
"He'll also have some new abilities he didn't have before." Doctor Bennett said.
"Like what?" Stevie asked.
Doctor Bennett shrugged, "I'm not entirely sure, it will depend on how his body adapts to his new tech." he answered.
"We'll help Michael with that too," Lisa said. "we owe him a lot!"
"Yeah," Cat said. "when we heard what happened to him, I sent a message to my brother and he's got all of the houses checking for more dangerous traps. he himself is keeping an eye on Barty Crouch Junior."
"Good," Carole said. "that way, we will know where to find him when we want him!"
"Where is he," KC snapped angrily. "I want him right now!"
"Easy, calm down, KC," Stevie said. "right now, Michael needs you, not to mention all of his friends, we'll get Crouch when the time is right!"
"Besides," Lisa said. "Michael deserves to go with us when we do go after him!"
KC nodded, "You're right," she sighed.
Then Lisa changed the subject, "How is Professor Trelawney doing?" she asked Madame Pomfrey.
"Oh she's fine." Madame Pomfrey smiled. "a dose of relaxant and some rest was all she needed, she should be released in about an hour."
Suddenly, another voice interrupted them.
"Will you guys shut up," Michael said irritably. "I'm trying to sleep!"
"Just a minute, Michael." Lisa said before she stopped short.
"Michael!" a bunch of voices said in unison.
Michael smiled sleepily and opened his eyes, "Good morning, everyone." he said.
"How are you feeling, Michael?" KC asked.
Michael's stomach rumbled loudly.
"I'm hungrier than a hippogriff, KC!" Michael exclaimed out of embarrassment.
