AN: This is a short chapterand I apologize it's been finished a few weeks. I just wanted to get a jump start on the next chapter before I post. The next chapter is almost complete.

*Flashback*

Sookie waited nervously in Eric's office at the video store. Vampires were revealing their existence tonight on national television. Eric had told her to stay close in case they had to leave quickly. She leaned back against his chest as Nan Flanagan came on TV in a special news brief. The TV flashed with the news caption. 'The undead living among us'. So far everything was going ok. Sookie watched the news brief. "I'm so glad we told Gran about this before." Gran had known about Eric and vampires for almost a year now. Just like she had always accepted Sookie, she had excepted Eric. "I just hope the Authority hasn't completely gone insane. " Eric said in her ear. Sookie signed. "I can't believe they tried to talk you into appearing on the news." Eric laughed and leaned forward to kiss the back of her neck. "If I hadn't of been with you I'd probably of done it. I need to see how this is going to play out first and I refuse to make you a target."

They had just had their two year anniversary two and a half weeks ago . Eric had taken her to Europe for two months. They had flown into Sweden and spent a month there. She absolutely loved it. From there they had flown to Paris and finally Rome and Greece before flying back to Spain to fly home. On the actual date of their two year anniversary Eric had flown Sookie up to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The tower was closed but the lights of Paris were beautiful. They had danced and made love and Eric had given her a beautiful platinum necklace. It had a princess cut stone that matched the princess cut in her engagement ring identically. Then the necklace was surrounded by a tiny cluster of diamonds. "The center of my universe." Eric had told her as he hooked it for her. Sookie was the happiest she had ever been. Sookie loved Europe and she had came home feeling as if she was in heaven on earth. Gran had told her how good love looked on her. Sookie couldn't have agreed more. It felt so good every morning to wake up in the arms of her vampire. They were undeniably in love and perfectly happy. Everything was perfect.

*End Flashback *

Sookie was talking to Pam about wedding details when they heard a loud noise that shook the entire house. It came from the garage and she had just heard Eric open the garage door. She took off running towards the garage, ducking under Pam's arm. She ran into the kitchen and got all the way to the door. There was another loud noise and the kitchen was consumed in fire. Sookie was sent flying back into Godric, who was following her. Godric spun her behind him and covered her body with his. He took most of the impact. She struggled to get free but it was no use. He was 2000 years old and she was no match for his strength.

"ERIC!!!" She screamed as Godric drug her from the house just as the rest of the house went up in flames.

"Stay with Pam!" He yelled. Godric never yelled. Sookie fell against Pam, sobbing on her shoulder.

"Pam he was in there." Pam held her tightly. "Sookie. Search the bond. You would feel it if he were dead." Pam whispered in her ear as a bloody tear escaped and ran down her cheek. "I don't feel him…" Sookie began to hyperventilate. Pam was to much in shock and let her go. As soon as she did Sookie staggered to her feet and ran towards what was left of the house.

"Eric! Please baby no." She whispered with tears in her eyes. The heat coming from the blaze was unbearable that it caused her to double over and fall to the ground. She laid down and brought her knees to her chest and held them there. Her tears had stopped she was just laying there motionless watching their home burn with Eric inside. She was numb. She wanted to crawl into the fire and burn up too but the intense heat stopped her from getting any closer. She felt cool strong arms wrap around her. She was lifted against someone's chest.

"Sookie. Look at me. I'm here." Her eyes found his face and she threw her arms around him.

"Eric?" She cried into his chest. "I thought you were in there." He lifted her in his arms and carried her over to where Godric and Pam were waiting.

"We need to leave now. Pam drive your car to the apartment. The secret one we talked about, that is in Sookie's name." Eric told Pam.

"Eric don't you ever do that again! " Pam said slapping his shoulder.

"We'll meet you there. I'll explain. We have to get out before anyone else gets here." Eric kissed Sookie's tear stained face. "It's alright now. I'm sorry you were worried Lover. I'm alright I swear." He and Godric sprung into the sky as Pam hurried to her car and got out of the development just as the fire department followed by police and EMS arrived at the gate.

Sookie wasn't able to speak the whole way to the apartment. She just held on to Eric. It didn't take long to get there with them flying. They landed on the balcony. She was still very upset and holding onto Eric when Pam got there fifteen minutes later and unlocked the balcony so he wouldn't have to rip another door off it's hinges. Eric looked down at her and kissed the top of her head.

"Lover, you need to invite Godric in." He whispered quietly.

"Come in Godric." She said quietly into Eric's shoulder without looking up. Eric carried her in and sat her down on the couch and began looking her over for injuries. "I'm fine." She promised but when her eyes met his she began to cry.

"I thought I'd lost you." Eric kissed her softly and brushed her hair away from her face. He wiped her tears away with his thumbs.

"I was at the garage door once I realized what was happening. I had to go out the window in front. The side wall collapsed and fell on me and it took a moment to get free. I'm sorry Lover." Sookie wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Why do they want to kill us?" Eric pulled her into his arms and held her tightly. He looked over her head at Godric and Pam.

"They want to kill me Sookie, so they can get to you." He told her honestly.

"Rene's body was gone. Godric said he saw on the security tapes someone taking it." She looked at him.

"Bill Compton?" Eric grasped her hand and looked her in the eye.

"I believe so. But there is no way to prove it." Sookie touched his cheek, it was still covered in soot, with the palm of her hand. She was done for the day. To much had happened in such a short period that all she wanted to do was sleep. She was exhausted and tired of fighting. Eric kissed her softly on the forehead and lifted her in his arms.

"We'll talk before dawn." He said over his shoulder to Pam and Godric. He carried Sookie down the hall into the master bathroom. The door shut behind him. He took her into the bathroom and sat her on the side of the tub while he ran the water. He took off his clothes. She was to emotionally worn out to even take off her own. He helped her undress then slid down into the water and pulled her between his legs. She laid her back against his chest and he wrapped his arms around her.

"It's all gone?" She said quietly as a tear ran down her cheek as he washed her back.

"There wasn't anything that can't be replaced. And everything in the safe is probably just the way we left it. The important thing is you weren't hurt. I had to close the bond. I felt your pain and I had to close it so I could free myself." He began to wash her hair. Once he had rinsed it and cleaned himself she pulled away from him and turned in the water. She climbed on top of his lap and grabbed him in her hand. "I thought I had lost you. It was to much. I need you honey. Please." He could feel her need in the bond and her pain was enough to break him in half. He let her take control and when he was hard enough he grabbed her by the waist and slid home. She cried out as he filled her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and his lips found hers. He slipped his tongue in her mouth and she cried out as she rode him. It had been days since they made love. Longer than they had ever gone. Sookie came quickly and fell against him panting. He slowed their movements taking her slowly. He kissed down her neck as his fingers found her nipples. He rubbed them until they hardened then sucked one in his mouth. She moaned and grabbed a handful of his hair and pushed her chest harder against his mouth. He grabbed her ass to hold her still. Each thrust slower and harder than the last. Eric carefully lifted her out of the water and carried her into the bedroom. He gently lowered her on the bed and covered her body with his. He looked into her eyes. She looked into his. She pulled his head close. She suddenly couldn't hold her tears in anymore. He looked at her concerned and stopped moving. "Lover?" He kissed her tenderly.

"I'm sorry," she whispered as he wiped her tears away with his thumbs. "I just can't stop crying. I thought you were gone. " He leaned down and kissed her and began to move again slowly. They made love for hours. She needed him and he refused to deny her even though he should have been with Godric and Pam making plans. He was done playing around. It was time to find out who was behind this once and for all and when he did they would pay for every tear she she had cried. She finally fell asleep in his arms with him still inside of her. He fell against the bed and held her a few minutes. It was the most peaceful he had seen her in days. He got up, careful not to wake her up, he pushed her hair out of her face and kissed her gently. Eric pulled the covers over her body and very reluctantly left her and went to find Godric.

Godric and Pam were out on the balcony talking with on the phone. He hung up when Eric came out. "How is she?" Godric asked concerned. Eric looked at him then Pam. "She's resting, she's had about all she can handle. I probably need to be in there with her if she wakes up."

"Yes, of course. We're going to Dallas in a week. I spoke to Nora. She said you would have complete support for a wedding as well as protection and immunity if your Queen has to be taken out. All they ask for in return is a member of the press to be there." Eric looked at Godric. "Will it make her safe again or put her in more danger?" Godric touched Eric's shoulder. "I wish I had the answer for you. You've done a wonderful job for four years keeping her out of danger completely." Eric growled. "And in less than two weeks she's been attacked three times, almost killed two of those times, her grandmother was brutally murdered and the last attack I was to weak to get to her any sooner. And someone blew our house up with both of us inside. Yes, I've done remarkable at keeping her safe. " Godric looked at Eric. "She survived didn't she?" Eric nodded. "Eric, she's a fighter. She loves you as much as you love her. She would've ran into that garage after you tonight if I hadn't of drug her from the house first." Eric looked down then back to Godric.

"I'm grateful you were there for her. What do we do?" Eric asked.

"Exactly what we were talking about earlier. You need to claim her publicly. I know you've tried to keep her away from everything but your idiot queen knows about her. How did she find out about her?" Eric picked up a chair and threw it at a tree so hard it left a dent in the tree.

"Hadley, her cousin, is the Queen's human. I must of seen her at the palace a dozen times. I just never placed her. She had disappeared right before I met Sookie." Godric looked at Eric. "Can you be ready in two days for the wedding?" Eric nodded. The vampires turned around as Sookie opened the balcony door and stepped out. Eric rushed to her side and wrapped his arm around her waist she leaned against his side. "I can't sleep. Everytime I close my eyes someone is trying to kill us." She said sadly.

Eric kissed the top of her head. "Are you sure you're up to pushing the wedding up? We can find another way if you need more time." Sookie smiled at him. "I don't want to wait. I've wanted to be your wife for three years." Eric pulled her in his arms and cradled the back of her head.

"Can you wait two more days?" Sookie smiled. "I guess."

"Sookie, I'll handle everything. I have your notebook with what you wanted and your ideas. All you'll have to do is try on the dress. I'll take care of everything else." Pam promised. Sookie smiled at her friend. Even though Pam would never admit it she loved Sookie like a sister and she wanted Eric to be happy. They were good for each other. "Thank you Pam." She said sincerely. Sookie was happy but she'd gotten to use to having something happen that she refused to get excited and let her guard down.

" Let's go inside." Eric said kissing the top of her head. "You'll feel better after you've rested. I'll stay with you." Eric lifted her up in his arms can carried her back to the bedroom. They laid down. And Sookie tangled her body in his and laid her head on his chest. He began to play with a strand of her hair and soon her breathing evened out and she was sleeping peacefully. Eric held her the rest of the night and when the sun rose and pulled him under he didn't have to fight it for the first time in weeks.
