Since I've seen multiple people asking for romance. Tell me who you want as a partner. Just no characters that have a partner in the actual show. I'm not putting PB with him.

An OC is also an option.

If you don't want romance. You can say that too.

Enjoy.

Sniff*

Billy, a NEWBIE HERO and FUTURE legend walked through a lush forest with a sword in hand ready for adventure.

As he walked through, he heard someone crying in these woods. It was his duty as a hero to help those in need. He jumped recklessly through the trees to reach the source of the crying.

There, after breaking a few trees on the way, he found what looked to be a tiny teenage boy with pale skin and pointy ears wearing a black jacket with a white button up under shirt and black pants crying to himself.

"Child! Why are you crying!" Billy asked enthusiastically as layed on his side half sunken into the dirt.

The teenager unintentionally giggled at Billy's antics, causing a few trees to grow next him. "Sorry, it's just so funny."

"It's fine. Now, tell me what's wrong. Is it a monster? Did it eat your entire family? I can free them from it's stomach with my bare fists!" Billy asked in a serious tone.

"No, no...I actually ate the last monster I saw. Y'know what? I think I'm fine." Said the teen as he tried to leave the area before Billy stopped him.

He jumped in front of the teen sliding through the dirt with a serious look on his face contradictory to his silly behavior.

"No, you're not." Said Billy in a serious tone. "Why were you crying?"

"I-...look, it's not your problem. You don't need to bother." Said the teen with a frown, clearly not fine as some of the grass around him rotted.

"That's the thing about being a hero. Bothering is my job, child!" Exclaimed Billy cheerfully.

At that time, Billy did not know that the teen was much much older than him so much so that it was odd to consider him a teen. Something that made the teen quite upset.

"I'm not a kid, dude. Now, go help someone else." Said the teen getting angrier, causing some trees around him to rot on accident.

Billy saw this behavior and frowned. If the person in question won't tell him what's wrong, how can he help him?

Caught in quite the conundrum, Billy put a hand on his chin and narrowed his as he thought about the solution to this equation.

And it was stalking the person for the rest of the day. Needless to say, the teen was not pleased. But for some reason, the boy did not try to hurt Billy as his magic ruined everything else around them. The giant took this as a sign to stay despite the teen saying otherwise.

"Can you PLEASE just leave me alone?! I don't want you here!" Snapped the teen angrily as he stood with Billy in a field of frozen grass.

Billy shook his head and firmly stood still, causing the teen to growl at him. The teen frowned and tried to come up with a way to get rid of the dumb giant following him around.

But in his pondering, he failed to notice an ant monster approaching him. But Billy was there. He swiftly took out the monster with his sword.

But before long, a swarm of ant monster surrounded Billy and the teen. Billy took a battle stance, ready to fight while the teen simply frowned at the monsters before releasing a wave of magic at the monsters, causing them to fuse into one giant monster that quickly melted into a puddle, killing all the monsters in one go.

"I can do that to you too, Billy. I'm not a good person." Said the teen angrily as gave Billy a death glare. "So. Stay. Away."

Billy stared at the teen calmly, not questioning how the boy knew his name. Why would he lie about himself? Billy decided to clarify the situation.

"But you are a good person." Replied Billy calmly. "You could've done that the whole time, but you didn't. That means you're a good person."

The teen groaned. "Can't I just a have a moment of peace around here?!" He yelled angrily before he deflated. "Fine. I'll tell you about my problems, but if you can't fix them you leave. Got it?"

Billy smiled and nodded silently before the teen flopped onto the ground and set the area on fire to make a point.

"But first, let me make one thing clear. I've lost count of how old I am, but I've been alive for at least a century at this point. I'm not a kid. Second, my name is Marshall. You call me that instead of child or whatever. GOT IT?!"

Billy nodded in affirmation, causing Marshall to sigh as the giant sat next to him.

"Where do I start? I guess-"

"Marshall!" Marshall heard a familiar voice calling for him.

"D-did you hear that?" Asked Marshall narrowing his eyes.

Billy did not respond, as if he was replaced by a soulless husk.

"Marshall!" The voice exclaimed once again.

"You have to wake up, Marshall." Said Billy in an eeriely calm tone, scaring Marshall. "You need to wake up."

And so he did.

"Aagh!" Marshall, wearing a gray tshirt, black shorts and bandages as well as Billy's nose gem earring, woke up with a scream panting for breath. "Woah. Marcy, I just had a weird dream about-"

"Marshall!" Exclaimed Marceline in a panic in her bat monster form as she held both Finn and Jake in her hands, keeping them away from the ground.

Marshall looked around the room to see violent flames filling the whole room, something he must've accidentally done in his sleep. Quickly, he extinguished the flames with a wave of his hand and undid its damage, causing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief.

"Dude! You made a frozen forest, then fused all the frozen green with a table, 2 chairs and a box full of medicine before turning it all into a puddle of goo!" Exclaimed Jake in shock. "Then you set the whole room on fire!"

Marshall chuckled nervously as he fiddled with his fingers. "Hehe, yeah that...happens."

"Which is why I told you to not take furniture inside the room WHILE MARSHALL WAS SLEEPING!" Yelled Marceline angrily as she transformed into a monster, terrorizing Finn and Jake for their mistake.

Marshall saw the two heroes quaking in their boots and smiled. He decided to spare them his sister's wrath.

"Hey, Marcy. Didn't you say Finn was coming over to help you with THAT song." Asked Marshall with a smile getting his sister's attention. "He can't help you if he's dead."

Marceline quickly calmed down before begrudgingly pulling Finn away to the living room. But as she was about float out of the room with Finn, her neck snapped towards Jake.

"If anything happens to my brother on your watch, I will suck every drop of blood from your body." Deadpanned Marceline and without another word, she left the room with Finn.

Jake froze in place and gulped, shivering in fear at the vampire queen's threat. It took him a few seconds before he managed to get to Marshall's bed.

The magic dog transformed part of his body into a chair for himself and sat down next to the wizard.

"Soooo, why'd you come over?" Asked Marshall with an awkward smile.

Marshall vividly remembered this part of the series and Jake was not supposed to be here at all. This meant things changed and change was scary. And so, Marshall was anxious about Jake's presence.

"Oh, I came to help Marceline take care of you man since, y'know? It was sorta my fault I bonked ya on the head." Said Jake awkwardly staring at the ground. "So, uhh, does that happen often? The fire and stuff?"

"What happens depends on my dreams, but yes, I do leak magic every time I go to sleep." Said Marshall with a shrug as if it was the most normal thing ever.

"Every time?! Even during tiny naps?" Exclaimed Jake in shock prompting Marshall to nod with a frown. "Well, have you ever tried to fix it?"

"That could easily make it permanently worse and that's a lot more scary, so-" Replied Marshall calmly with a smile as he scratched the side of his head. "-i don't fix my problems, I live with them."

Jake stared silently at the half demon for a good 10 seconds, contemplating what he had just heard before he finally came to a conclusion. "That's not okay, man."

"Hey. If it works, don't fix it. Am I right?" Marshall joked cheerfully only to be met with awkward silence. "Maybe I should get a hobby."

Jake stared at him with a serious expression before overhearing Marceline's song from the other room. Specifically, the part about her dad.

"Hey, Marshall, what's your dad like?" Jake asked curiously as Marshall fiddled with his fingers restlessly.

"He's the devil." Replied Marshall nonchalantly shocking Jake.

"Sheesh. Is he really that bad?" Asked Jake feeling bad for Marshall and Marceline

"I meant it literally, Jake. He's a chaotic evil demon who rules over the Nightosphere, a fiery pit of despair and misery. He's also called the lord of evil. My dad is literally THE devil." Said Marshall nonchalantly, horrifying Jake to degrees never before seen. "Every single thing you're scared of Marceline doing to you he can do ten times worse."

"Your family's scary, man." Jake said in horror. "With a dad like that, no wonder you're all messed up-"

Marshall quickly turned to Jake looking upset with his statement. "What? No, my dad didn't mess me up...kinda. He wasn't doing it on purpose. He's actually quite a loving parent." He said causing Jake immense confusion. "He just doesn't understand what a good parent does and only focuses on making me and Marcy evil or trying to suck the soul of every being in Ooo. Buuut as long as no one summons- oh, shoot."

"What?" Asked Jake in confusion. "What happened?"

"Finn's about to summon my dad right now." Deadpanned Marshall feeling immense dejection at this happening while he's here.

"WHAT?!" Exclaimed Jake in a panic before dashing to the living room to stop Finn from making a mistake.

But it was too late. Jake saw a fiery hole open in Marceline's wall before a man in a suit materialize from grotesque flesh pieces flying around.

"Finn! What the heck did you do?!" Exclaimed Marceline angrily.

"I... reunited you with your dad?" Said Finn nervously.

"Finn!" Exclaimed Jake in a panic as he saw his brother next to the lord of evil.

"Is this kid your evil servant?" Hunson asked cheerfully.

"I'm not evil, Marceline's dad. I'm super good!" Finn replied cheerfully.

Marshall who was in the other room overheard this and feared the worst. His dad was about to suck Finn's soul. He decided to sit this one out, not wanting Hunson to see him and fighting his old man later in his armour. He teleported outside the house and watched from the windows.

"Super good?" Hunson didn't hesitate for a second before grabbing the boy and attempting to suck the soul of the poor hero in a horrifying way.

"What are you doing?!" Exclaimed Finn in a panic as he screamed and writhed.

"Stealing your soul!" Exclaimed Hunson before Jake pulled Finn out of the lord of evil's grasp. "Huh?"

"Dad! Ugh, you always do stuff like this!" Marceline yelled angrily as she held her axe bass.

"Haha! Oh, Marceline! I never know what's gonna set you off!" Said Hunson cheerfully before snatching the axe in his daughter's hand. "Whoa! Is this the family ax?"

"Wha?! Hey?!" Yelled Marceline angrily.

"Did you turn it into some kind of lute?" Hunson asked inspecting the bass axe.

"Give it back and GET OUT!" Yelled Marceline angrily.

Hunson was about to reply before he noticed something familiar in the corner of his eyes. Without hesitation he zapped whatever he saw with a beam of magic the pulled it through the window breaking it.

"Marshall! How's my little world ender? Up to any new disasters? Making your old man proud? You didn't visit or answer my calls, I was a little worried you forgot about your old man." Said Hunson happily as he ruffled his son's hair only for the latter to slap his hand away. "Wait- were you two having a sleepover? Without me?"

Marshall fixed the window with a wave of his hand before turning to the lord of evil with a giant frown. "Can you PLEASE stop associating me with stuff I did centuries ago? I'm not like that anymore!" He said with a frown.

"Aww, sure. I got you." Said Hunson winking to his son. "So, wanna go eat some sou-"

"GET OUT!" Marshall yelled in frustration. "Ugh, you'll never change!"

"Fine. I'll suck up all the souls in Ooo by myself then." Said Hunson like it would make Marshall bothered as he left the building with Marceline's Bass.

"My bass!" Yelled Marceline angrily as she watched Hunson leave with her instrument.

Everyone watching the lord of evil fly into the distance had different thoughts. Jake was terrified, Marceline was angry, Marshall was depressed and Finn was panicking.

"I've unleashed evil onto Ooo! We've gotta stop him!" Exclaimed Finn.

"Fine...but I'm only coming with you to get my bass back." Said Marceline with a deep frown.

"And morals." Marshall partially lied with a frown as he used magic to change into a black jacket with a white button up under shirt and black pants, still wearing his Billy's gem earring.

Marshall knew that his Hunson was more powerful than his dad of other realities. The Hunson of this reality extensively used magic along with his physical strength to fight. A habit he made while trying to connect with Marshall.

But that wasn't the full reason Marshall wanted to go. The other reason Marshall decided to go on this quest, was to spite his dad for what he had said about him. A petty, yet justified reason.

"What he said." Added Marceline with a frown.

Meanwhile, Jake swallowed his fear as he joined the rest of the gang to help protect Ooo from the lord of evil.

The group headed towards Hunson Abadeer, with Jake enlarging himself, Finn riding him and the Abadeers just flying next to them.

As Marceline and Finn spoke about how to deal with Hunson, Jake decided to ask Marshall a question.

"So, why did your dad call you world ender? You don't seem very world ender like." He asked curiously.

As Marshall was about to answer, he noticed that Finn and Marceline stopped talking and were now staring at him. Though, Marceline's expression was less curious and more concerned as she already knew the story.

Marshall sighed. "A long time ago, I used to be very...unstable...even more than now. My magic did random stuff even when I was wide awake. I destroyed a lot of stuff back then." He said dejectedly as a tiny rainy cloud formed over his head. "Dad saw that and is really proud of me for all the chaos I've caused, something I'm REALLY not proud of myself for. Especially now that I've got a good handle on myself."

Jake frowned before the last sentence popped into his head. "How'd you do it? Get a handle on yourself?" He asked curiously.

Marshall smiled brightly as the cloud above his head dissipated. "I met a good friend."

As only Marceline knew the identity of said friend, Finn and Jake were left to wonder who it was as the group approached an area full of fluffy cotton people who looked terrified.

The group stopped by the fluffy people to see what was happening and it turns out Hunson sucked the soul of one of them.

Jake gulped as he saw the soulless husk, causing Marshall to pat him on the back and repeat something he heard from an old friend.

"It's okay to be scared, bravery isn't the opposite of fear. Bravery is how much fear you're willing to cross through to do the right thing. In a way, the bravest people are those who are the most scared. Just imagine all the fear they have to go through." Said Marshall with a smile. "A friend told me that once. Of course, it took that muscle head a lot of years adventuring to get so wise."

"Is it the same friend from, y'know?" Asked Jake curiously prompting Marshall to nod. "He sounds like a cool guy."

Marshall let out a weak smile. "Yeah." He said softly. "Now let's go beat those souls out of my dad."

"Yeah!" Exclaimed Jake excitedly.

"Red rock pass." Said Marceline as they made it to said location. "If our dad wants to get through the mountains, he'll have to come through here."

"We can work together! And smash him with this rock!" Said Finn holding a rock. "And once he's smooshed, all the souls will go back to their rightful bods."

"It's not that easy, but I like the enthusiasm." Said Marshall calmly before noticing Hunson sucking the souls of some ants.

Marceline immediately pounced onto her dad forgetting about Marshall and the rest of the gang to attack the lord of evil. But, Hunson easily dodged the attack, causing Marceline to hiss at him.

"So, finally taking a run at your old man, huh?" Said Hunson before he had to make a barrier to block a magical beam from Marshall. "You too, Marshall?"

Marceline ignored the statement and attacked her father once again, but Hunson easily parried Marceline away.

"Daddy..." Said Marceline with an angry growl, beginning to lose patience.

Marshall saw this and fired another magical blast at his father who dodged once again.

"Fireball!" Yelled Hunson throwing a blue fire ball in Marshall's way.

Marshall blocked the fireball as Marceline attacked Hunson once again, desperately trying to reclaim her bass before she and Hunson had to dodge a boulder thrown by Finn and Jake.

"Karate chop!" Exclaimed Hunson attacking Marceline only for her to hiss. "You can't destroy me!"

"No, D-dad...I-I don't wanna destroy you. Look, just stay out of my life!" Exclaimed Marceline angrily before flying away.

"You're not even alive!" Replied Hunson in confusion. "Looks like it's just you and me, now little world ender. What kind of chaotic force are you gonna throw at me?"

Marshall frowned and growled at his father. He was tired of remembering the parts of his life he ruined with accidental magic. The parts of his life Hunson constantly without fail reminded him of.

He hated dealing with the man. Marshall calls him, visits him, left him a portal to visit his mom in a sealed area and did everything to have a good relationship with him not even trying to change his evil ways. But did Hunson ever listen to a single word he said? Ever try to listen? No. He just kept going on and on about the worst times of Marshall's life. The demon wizard was tired of this...and so, he gave up.

"No, just you. I quit too." He then started walking away. "I'll block your calls and the portal to mom in the Nightosphere. Don't talk to me again."

"Hah! Got it-"

"It's not a joke or a secret message or me being too awkward to tell you the truth. I never wanna see you again."

The first emotion that came to Marshall's head was anger then depression. The man REALLY never listens to a word he said. Tears fell out of Marshall's eyes as he flew up to Finn and Jake and Marceline.

He looked at them feeling some embarrassment. He spoke about this quest like he was ready to end it. But it seemed like he was the one to chicken out.

"Sorry." Said Marshall dejectedly before he landed next to Marceline. "Sorry."

Marceline jumped back at the sudden apology as Marshall curled into a ball next to her.

"Sheesh. I wish he'd care about me as much as you." Said Marceline dejectedly.

"Yeesh. I wish he'd listen to me as much as he does to you." Replied Marshall dejectedly as a tiny storm formed over his head. "*Sigh* I'll help you guys from far away. I don't wanna talk to him right now...or anymore."

"It's cool, man." Said Jake calmly, patting Marshall on the back.

And so, the four headed over to the ice kingdom to defeat Hunson Abadeer. And to Marshall, it seemed that everything from that point was identical to the show.

But it seemed that the aftermath will be much different.
