Marceline alone sat in her living room humming cheerfully. Today was a nice calm day. Expectedly, Marceline heard her door bell ring. Her ears perked before she flew towards the door with a smile on her door before opening it up.

"Canyon!" Exclaimed Marceline cheerfully. "Here for our practice?"

Canyon who was on one knee to peek through the comparatively small door, nodded with a smile. "Yup."

"Great. Let me get everything outside so we can start." Replied Marceline cheerfully before heading inside her house to get some stuff.

Canyon frowned at this before looking at her hands then looking at Marceline's house. It was like a toy house to her, she couldn't even think of ever entering it. But Marceline and all her friends can.

Canyon sighed before Marceline finally came back with a giant mat. "This should make the ground easy to sit on." Said the vampire queen cheerfully before placing the giant mat on the cave's ground.

With the mat set, Marceline grabbed her bass and the two began playing together. Marceline used her bass while Canyon used her family's spring water. As the two played, Canyon couldn't help but have a certain question stay in her mind, distracting her.

Marceline noticed this and stopped playing. "Canyon? You okay? You've been staring at that rock for a while now."

Canyon quickly snapped back to reality. "I'm fine. Just curious. You can change sizes, right?" Asked Canyon curiously prompting Marceline to nod. "What's it like to be small?"

Marceline was confused by the sudden question. "Uhh, the usual?"

"No, like, compared to being big." Replied Canyon dejectedly.

Marceline didn't know how to answer that. It was never a question that popped into her head. Why was Canyon even asking this question? Marceline thought to herself.

Marceline narrowed her eyes. "Do you wanna be small?" She asked in concern.

"I mean... sometimes." Replied Canyon dejectedly with a shrug. "It's hard to hang out with friends when all of them are tiny compared to you. I can't even enter normal houses."

"You can enter Marshall's." Replied Marceline calmly.

"Yeah, but he's the exception. Most people can't resize their house just by thinking about it." Countered Canyon with a frown. "Maybe I should look for some artifact that can let me change sizes. Yeah, I think I'll do that."

"You sure? We're still friends, giant or not."

Canyon paused. "I'm sure."

A week later.

Canyon, who was wearing an open long sleeved leather green jacket over a black sleeveless turtleneck top with a giant water canteen hanging off her waist and black leggings with her hair brushed to be wavy, walked through grassy plains heading towards Finn and Jake's treehouse with a tiny bracelet that she wore as a ring.

Once she made it to the treehouse, she lightly knocked on the door and sat crosslegged next to it.

Soon enough, Finn and Jake came down from the tree house excitedly.

"Hey, Canyon." Said Finn and Jake cheerfully in unison.

"Hey, Finn. Hey, Jake." Replied Canyon with a smile and a wave.

"What's going on?" Asked Finn cheerfully. "Do you need help gutting a monster or something."

"Nah, did that plenty on the way." Replied Canyon with a smile. "I need help with something."

Finn and Jake turned to each other then back to the water elemental before Jake spoke. "What is it?" He asked calmly.

"I just went through a whole horde of ant monsters for this." Said Canyon calmly as she showed Finn and Jake her ring with an ant symbol. "This here allows someone to shrink down and grow back to their original size at will. I'm using it to shrink down to you guys' size."

"Woah, a size changing ring." Muttered Finn in awe.

"It's a...bracelet." replied Canyon awkwardly.

"Cool." Said Jake with a smile. "But what does that have to do with us?"

Canyon frowned dejectedly. "...I don't know how to act small and I'm scared I'd something weird." She said calmly. "I need your help adjusting to the size difference. I thought since you can already change sizes and Finn has great motor skills, you'd be able to help."

"Oh!" Said Finn in acknowledgment. "We'd be happy to."

Jake gave Canyon a thumbs up, agreeing with Finn's statement. Seeing this, Canyon nodded before closing her eyes and letting the "ring" do it's work, shrinking her to the same size as Finn and Jake.

"Alright, let's get inside." Said Jake cheerfully. "Canyon, you first."

Canyon nodded before slowly heading towards the door, careful not to step on anything and trip. She stared at the door for a few seconds before very lightly trying to turn the knob to no avail.

"Uhh-" Canyon froze at what she had done before actually holding the knob and turning it to open the door. "Hehe, forgot this was a me sized door now."

It was time to learn how to be small.

Inside the treehouse.

"Woah!" Exclaimed Canyon excitedly as she admired the inside of the treehouse. "I've never been inside a small house other than Marshall's before. It's like my house, but smaller."

"That makes sense." Remarked Jake calmly.

"*Gasp* who's that little guy?" Asked Canyon noticing BMO with starry eyes.

"That's BMO." Replied Finn cheerfully before Canyon practically pounced on the robot excitedly. "He's-"

Finn and Jake went silent as they saw Canyon coo over BMO who enjoyed it. This was very unlike Canyon. She was always absurdly calm in all situations. But now she was acting a little hyperactive and more expressive. Finn and Jake decided to ignore it, it wasn't like it was a bad thing.

"Oh, right; the food's ready." Said Jake with a smile. "Hey, Canyon! You wanna have your first tiny meal with us?"

Canyon who was still overjoyed playing with BMO, suddenly turned around to Finn and gasped. "Yes yes, yes yes yes!" She said excitedly. "A hundred times yes!"

Once again, Finn and Jake felt that Canyon was acting weirdly but shrugged it off as they led Canyon to the dining table.

The food was omelettes. Jake distributed the food as Canyon bopped around left and right energetically. The moment an omelette touched her plate, Canyon grabbed the omelette by pinching it and tried to drop it into her mouth only to have it fall on her face.

"Hehehe, funny sandwich." Canyon giggled as she took the omelette off her face and ate it like a sandwich ignoring the heat completely.

"Uhh, Canyon? You okay?" Asked Jake in concern.

"Yeah! I feel great!" Exclaimed Canyon cheerfully. "I've never felt this great before! I feel like I can run multiple dungeons at the same time. Is that what you guys feel like all the time?"

Finn slowly shook his head before the earth started to shake. Canyon felt the shaking and immediately dashed to the window, squishing her face on the glass.

"It's the ants! They're here for the bracelet." Said Canyon glaring at a horde of ants in the distance before jumping out of the window and running towards it.

Finn and Jake rushed to the window upon seeing Canyon run off before noticing the giant horde of ant monsters in the distance.

"We gotta help!" Exclaimed Finn in a panic before Jake immediately took him outside through the window and stretched to the ground before following Canyon.

When the duo made it to the ant horde, they found Canyon with a giant water whip slicing through countless ants without effort. But it wasn't enough. There were too many.

Finn and Jake tried to fight the swarm as it attacked them, but to no avail. The two quickly started to scream, getting the battle crazed Canyon's attention.

Canyon quickly spun in a circle like a tornado as she headed towards Finn and Jake, killing all the ants in the way before pulling the duo out of the ant pile and jumping away.

"You two stay away. I'll kill them all." Said Canyon with an excited smile.

"What?" Asked Jake in horror.

"But there's too many of them!" Exclaimed Finn. "You need to give back that ring."

"What?! No!" Replied Canyon in shock. "If I do, I can't be small again!"

"Why do you wanna be small so much anyways?" Asked Jake curiously.

"Because everyone I'm friends with is small or can be small!" Replied Canyon with a deep frown. "You guys can do a lot that I can't because I don't fit in most places! When it was just me, Marshall and Billy, we didn't have to worry about this stuff. But now, there isn't enough space for me. I HAVE to keep this ring."

"But it's making you go nuts!" Replied Finn worriedly.

"Then that's just who I am now!" Yelled Canyon angrily as she aimed a sword made of water at Finn and Jake's necks.

Before Finn or Jake could reply, Canyon jumped back to the endless swarm of ants and began to fight once more.

"We need to get that ring away from her." Said Finn in a serious tone.

"But how?" Asked Jake in confusion. "She looks like she'd kill us!"

"Yeah, but she's distracted." Replied Finn calmly. "Let's snag the ring and throw it away."

Jake nodded before he and Finn recklessly dashed towards Canyon jumping over the ants swarming her.

Canyon saw them approaching and was about to slice them in half before realizing what she was about to do. She froze in place as Jake tackled her by puffing up into a giant balloon before Finn took the ring off of Canyon's finger, turning the ring back into a bracelet and Canyon back to her original size.

Before the swarm could kill everyone, Finn threw the bracelet far into the distance, causing all the ants to chase after it and leave.

Finn sighed in relief before turning to Canyon who was back to her calm giant self.

"You okay there, Canyon?" Asked Finn as Jake shrunk back down to his normal size.

"Yeah." Replied Canyon dejectedly yet calmly. "I just need some time."

Finn and Jake sat with Canyon as she silently layed on the grassy plains thinking about what she had done and her now impossible goal.

She and the duo sat on the grassy plains until sunset when Marshall and Marceline arrived at the scene.

"Canyon!" Marceline said upon seeing the water elemental. "Where have you been?"

"Doin' stuff." Said Canyon with a shrug. "Were you looking for me?"

"I thought about what you said before and me and Marshall made you something." Said Marceline with a smile as Marshall created a giant portal.

Canyon raised a brow before she, Finn and Jake walked through the portal to see Marceline's house. But next to said house was a lawn with a giant couch and a roof above it all that was well above Canyon's height held up by four wooden pillars.

"Now, we can play music without worrying about mats or houses and you can stay your own size." Said Marceline with a smile. "Do you like it?"

Canyon turned to the giant couch then back to Marceline. It wasn't the solution to the problem Canyon had, but wasn't it her goal in the first place to hang out with her friends? Isn't this just what she wanted?

Canyon smiled happily. "It's perfect."
