POV Narrator:
Noir Rod in a very suspicious way corrupted himself and is about to leave in a flight towards the Luna Nova witchcraft academy, where he can cause a lethal explosion that may kill the students, teachers, workers and also the headmaster and the whole legacy of the place, All because of a mission that Croix wanted to do and had no idea that her equipment would become a ballistic missile and consequently end up corrupting enough to start a disaster of huge scales the largest school of magic in the world, could be the end, or else it could be one of the most heroic and historical moments of Luna Nova, fitting only to the group of nine girls from three teams and also the two older witches to achieve this feat.
POV Akko:
Croix and Chariot point their wands at us together, where it causes our Luna Nova uniforms to become kind of different clothes, I went looking at Diana and saw that she looked like an astronaut even, we kind of stare at them, a bit scared, only me and Diana are like that.
"We put all the faith of magic in you two, I know you will succeed" Chariot said.
"What about the others?" I said half confused.
"We will help with the extra boost, you with the staff and the extra protection will finish off that missile, I know you can do it" Amanda said.
"Come on Akko, we can achieve this, we just have tae believe in ourselves, remember what ye said when we were at The Last Wednesday Society" she said with her hand on my shoulder and then bringing her face close to mine to the point where our lips touched.
"Diana..." I tell her half blushing.
"If we dinnae mak' it, see this yin lest message fae me " she said, then closed her visor, speaking in her funny accent.
I also close mine, the broom is getting all long, where all of us are sitting on it in rows, and Diana and I are at the tip, the missile was also starting to come out in the air and that was the signal we needed, we concentrate just looking up, now I am going to fly and fly high.
"The missile will make a long way around before it hits Luna Nova, you have 25 minutes until the missile gets close to Luna Nova, don't forget that" said Professor Croix over the radio.
We started to fly and I already felt the impact of the broom being propelled with everything, the nine of us all going at very high speed, it even made me a bit nervous, but I really hope I can reach the missile, we were also going higher and higher, I really feel like I'm inside a rocket, but here it's just a broom.
"Use everything you can with Claiomh Solais, don't be afraid to recite the words, do it with everything, we will show the whole world of magic" Croix said.
"I believe in you, your magic will be the strongest" said Chariot also motivating us.
I looked back at the clouds, then Hannah ejected from her broom and waved to us, which made it lighter, then Barbara came, as we made our way to the missile which must be pretty fast by the looks of it.
"You are already reaching the speed of sound, it is the speed of the missile, a little more and you will reach it" said Croix.
We kept going, going higher and higher, I never thought that this was how a plane felt, I noticed that there was even a vortex of air in front of us, but it didn't hit us, it must be some kind of magical protective barrier, that's why even the broom didn't feel anything either.
"At this rate you will enter the stratosphere, but don't worry you two have plenty of oxygen" said Croix and I was already in shock at the thought of us going into space.
Behind us Jasminka was ejecting, the broom was getting lighter as we got closer to the missile, looking at the helmet we could see on the radar how close we were getting, then Constanze ejected and she even sent a signal with a thumb that made an extra thrust, adding even more speed to us, now yes the missile is being able to be reached even more.
"Wonderful, the missile will soon be reached, in two minutes you will already have extremely thin air" said Croix and that's when I got scared.
I never thought that a rocket would feel like this, even more with a trip in space, this is a random thing that I am living now, looking back I see that Sucy and Lotte are the last to eject and with that we are accelerating with everything we have, getting very close to the missile, it is our time to act.
"Ready tae act Akko?" Diana asks.
"I'm not ready, but we will manage, I believe in us" I tell her.
"I say the same, let's give what we've got tae get this thing blown up, fae witches all over the world, I never expected tae be in a heroic moment like this, just at times when sae much has happened tae me" She said and I feel the same way too.
"Me too, it is even strange to think about it, but I believe in us, let's end it, by the magic of believing in ourselves, you and I will together save Luna Nova, I never thought that I would also get so far" I say all happy.
"Stop talking there, we have an important mission to do, talk after you survive the missile, I know you will have a lot to talk about, you are already very close to it" said Chariot giving us a good telling off.
We were seeing the missile much closer flying at full speed, or rocket hahaha, our up here is another thing, looking down I can literally only see clouds and nothing else, I can't even see the ground so high that we are and still the broom is so fast that is tearing the clouds must be because of the air shield that we have here too.
Meanwhile in Luna Nova...
POV Rosemary:
We arrive with our warrant fae Luna Nova, apparently the Ley line almost dinnae work, as we land I notice that there is nae presence of the sorcerer stone around, it must have been picked up somewhere, we walk tae the inside, where there was nae one from the students and with that we go tae the headmaster's office and there was the headmistress Miranda Holbrooke, watching something in the crystal ball.
"WCI, Officer Morris, we have a search and seizure warrant tae capture the suspected criminal in connection with the Chariot Du Nord case, please call Professor Croix Meridies" I tell them who continue tae watch what was on the crystal ball.
"Agent Morris, we are sorry to say, but the suspect in question has escaped from here and is on the outskirts of the Arcturus forest, where the Gran Triskellion seal is also located according to the information that was passed on by Croix Meridies herself" Said the director tae us and I immediately went tae take a look at what they were seeing.
Two astronaut witches flying towards a missile, what a weird thing, it must be some kind of crazy series or something, kind of funny tae see some old lassies like that seeing that, but then Croix appears and also Chariot next tae her, which opens my eyes a lot.
"Witches of Luna Nova and the whole world please believe in us, have faith in the witches, we need your help to save Luna Nova, a ballistic missile is coming towards Luna Nova and only your help to believe in these two witches will be able to save us" Croix said through the crystal ball.
"Croix is not lying, we are in serious danger, we need your help, if we all manage to join forces, the missile will be defeated" said Chariot and I was getting a bit worried.
"Then ye stay there, dinnae move from the place, I will investigate the lab and see something, agents Crown and Rock will keep an eye on you, I will give a general check, because I want tae know the evidence about Croix and also about the missile operation, dinnae move from there, or else you will be arrested, I have the judge's order tae do that, so dinnae think about making any fun" I make it clear tae the headmaster and teacher, while I take a last look at the screen, I hope these two witches can really save everything.
After warning me I decide tae go down to the laboratory, when entering I almost get hit by a blade that I dodge and take cover, I take advantage and take out my revolver from my waist, and I look around to see and I could notice that the laboratory was in a state of destruction.
"Whoever is there surrenders in the name of the law! I'm armed" Now I'm really scared, maybe there shouldn't even be people here.
I decide tae take a look with a mirror I took from my pocket and see that it is clean, sae I start running, where I notice that there are some loose wires, the place is even ringing a kind of alarm, drones on the floor and I'm filming everything with the camera that is on my chest, as I walk around the place, it seems that a truck passed here inside, wow, someone wanted tae destroy this lab before and leave without evidence, this could end up going bad fae Miss Croix Meridies.
"Anyone there?" I try tae shout something tae be called but I'm almost hit by another drone heading towards me but I knock it down with one shot.
What a thing I killed a robot, I kept walking and went tae where the computer is, taking care I enter the room, aiming the gun and always attentive, but there was nothing but loose wires and also a map of the route, which I notice has a pen drive connected, that smells like sabotage, I smell one from afar, I put on my gloves, take the pen drive and put it in the evidence bag.
"Look Miss Meridies your potato is less hot now, this is some sabotage here" I say half tae myself and then I see something happening.
"USB disconnected, initiating a course change, I repeat initiating course change, the missile will now take a direct return to Luna Nova, within 5 minutes it will be at its destination" Holy shit the flash drive was maintaining an alternative and faster route, whoever made this missile, the person really wanted it tae intentionally take a while to create panic.
"Now I have tae fix it, I have tae change this thing, shit... I'm nae a programmer, if April was here the missile would have been destroyed by now " I say half sitting the chair and starting tae open in the computer.
I keep searching the system and nothing, I only find the normal programs, only about Noir Rod themself that has here the exact same things as the dossier that Diana gave me, but nothing, I have tae fix it here, but I dinnae know, I can only watch, what I do, I open the missile's camera screen and see that the two witches with clothes that look like astronauts are getting close tae the missile, I hope they can too, after that I'll take everything out, sorry girls, I made things difficult.
Back to the skies...
POV Akko:
We are almost there, Diana and I are going in the greatest concentration and then I start to support myself, prepared to throw myself, we stay on the side, Diana even went a little forward, I take a deep breath, feeling the coldness of the oxygen from the special clothes, I jump from the broom, I hold myself with my only arm to a missile's ladder, that was close, I manage to support myself with one hand, Diana gives me the staff.
"Now go Akko, let's open this thing" Diana said and I send the thumb sign, she continues on top of the broom.
"Phaidoari Afairyngor!" I recite the second word, prepare the staff and it turns into an axe which with that I manage to hit the missile.
It was strong enough to hit its fuselage, so I took advantage and went up more and more walking and drilling more of the fuselage, but out of nowhere the missile started to go crazy, going from top to bottom which I couldn't take, I was thrown backwards, this time I was saved by holding the staff, I've never seen a missile do something like that, at least now it's leaking.
"Good Akko, that's enough tae do some more damage, I'll go further forward, ye hit an arrow right in front of the missile" She said, giving me the tactic.
She accelerated the broom harder, but this time the missile was also competing with us, which I thought of something else, recited the second word again, and came up with a more genius idea.
"Hey Diana accelerate that there and let's tear the missile apart" I say holding the axe in hand and she agrees.
So we did just that, the missile decides to change course and goes up in altitude, to the point where we can see the curvature of the earth in a very evident way, the sky above was even getting darker, wow this thing is going to take us into space and we can't rip it, so I take the axe in hand.
"Next Diana catch me in the air, I already know what I'm going to do" I say to her while we went up a lot, and the missile was kind of stopping, but I took the chance to let go of the broom, looking down I could see the earth, but it's not even a little bit like the earth, not for what I've always seen.
"Akko what are ye doing, ye are throwing yourself" Diana said.
"Trust that this is the plan, Noctu Orfei Aude Freator!" The first word is spoken, I am absolutely delighted with what I have just seen, the land is beautiful from up here, the staff turns into a bow and arrow as always.
Now I'm going to put my years of call of duty in practice and also playing with a slingshot, so much that I'm having these exact visions going through my head, along with the one I had with the first presentation of Chariot, which made me very emotional, so I shoot my bow, shoot the arrow, this goes right where the propulsion of the missile comes out, it even seems that everything was in slow motion for me.
"I did it!" I say as I see that the arrow has caught well in the missile's propulsion hole.
"Good" Said Diana who caught me in the air and so we climbed on the broom and stood together watching the missile falling little by little.
"Wait a minute... Where is this thing going to fall?" I wonder as I see that the missile would fall, but then I lean my helmet against Diana's like a kiss.
"Hey, girls! Blow that thing up now! The missile is falling towards Luna Nova, it's going to land right on top of everybody!" Said Croix and now we didn't even have time to enjoy it.
"For the nine lesbian witches, what do we do?" Diana said.
"We will have to fly down there and shoot an arrow together, before the missile explodes with everything and comes to destroy Luna Nova" I tell her.
"It's a dumb idea, but it's your dumb ideas are the ones that have worked sae far" Diana said and she went along for the ride.
So we were flying towards the ground, getting closer to the earth, the missile was still falling, we were well positioned, not too far to the ground, but not too far to the sky either, so we took the staff, together we aimed upwards, seeing the missile from far away.
"Noctu Orfei Aude Fraetor!" We said together and so the bow became much bigger, almost a ballista.
Only it's not enough yet, but suddenly we see a greenish aura coming closer to the bow, which is getting bigger and bigger, to the point that we can be quite confident, we keep concentrating and the bow is getting brighter and brighter, carrying the hope of all the witches, we are here to save everyone.
"By Luna Nova!" I say as the arrow was about to be shot.
"Fae magic!" Diana said, also motivated.
"Just shoot!" Croix said.
"Shiny! Arc!" We shot the arrow with everything to the point where it kicked us the most, but we managed to hold on.
The arrow hits the missile straight on, but it's still stuck by the tip and it's quite long, shit and now, the missile continues to fall towards Luna Nova and with that Diana still remained standing on her broomstick.
"Phaidoari Afayringor!" She said and I have no idea what she wants to do, but the axe has become a hammer and I didn't even know that.
"Diana! What are you going to do?" I say shocked.
"I will get this arrow through the missile, but I will need a lot of precision, when I get off the broom it will hold floating fae a while, if I dinnae come back, the people down there prevent yer fall Akko, it's time tae do a heroic act" She said firming her feet on the broom.
"Diana!" I say that before she starts jumping and she just goes with all the momentum, I didn't even notice, but the outfit has propulsion boots too, she went all out towards the missile and you could see the hammer growing bigger and bigger.
What the hell, I in this position can't even do anything but look, but I see the magic emanating around, going towards Diana, it's as if I saw an angel and she looks wonderful, getting closer and closer, I hope she makes it and doesn't get killed. As I get closer I just feel the hit with the hammer and then the arrow going completely through the missile, then the hammer disappearing, from far away I could notice, followed by a huge flash, and a bang... By the nine witches.
"Diana... Diana!" She can't be dead, no! Not now! I go to see the sky going all dark, then the broom starting a fall.
But out of nowhere she starts to float, I feel something, I start to control myself up, the broom is obeying me, I am able to fly by broom? I went up towards the smoke of the explosion, when I got closer I saw Diana in free fall, the astronaut clothes burned completely, I could take her in my arms and continue flying.
"Mission accomplished girls, the missile has been detonated!" Croix said.
"Excellent Akko! Excellent Diana! You have done it!" said Chariot.
My concern was only one, I went flying lower and lower, she was very injured, with wounds on her arms and legs, she must have tried to protect herself, I land in Luna Nova, which is already impressive, I lay her down on one of the benches, her staff is still in one piece, I take off my helmet.
"Akko did you fly a broomstick on your own?" Teacher Du Nord asks and I just ignore her.
"Diana? Diana!" I say as I touch her face and feel her breathing, she is still alive, which has already made me much more relieved, at least the worst hasn't happened.
"Wow, Akko flew on a broomstick, can you believe it? Just her" said one of the girls.
"And she saved us too, Akko is awesome" Said another and I simply didn't even care just for Diana's eyes.
She was slowly opening up, kind of blinking and feeling pain, which I was all relieved, I even gave her a very tight hug, full of emotion, I thought I would lose Diana forever, but this was beautiful, she managed to survive.
"Akko, ye're squeezing me" She said and I end up disengaging from the hug, seeing her kind of making some pained expressions.
"That hammer strike on the arrow was awesome, Diana you were amazing, you saved everyone" I tell her all emotional while she stood smiling.
"And the most impressive of all, you flew on a broomstick Akko, you did it, you proved you are a capable witch too, we did it" she said with a smile on her face and soon the others were also appearing.
"Wow Akko, there you go girl, you finally flew the broom, right on your spring break, you flew very well indeed, you saved Cavendish and everyone else" Amanda said.
"After six months it came out of the ground hahaha" Sucy said teasingly as I inflated my cheeks.
"It was tough, today was a busy day, a lot of things happened, I hope everything works out in the end - I say looking up at the sky with the magic starting to sort of catch on everything like rain, it was a beautiful thing to see also looking like an aurora borealis, along with the falling snow.
In Arcturus, in the seal of the Gran Triskellion...
POV Chariot:
Akko did it, I am so proud of this girl, in the end she not only could defeat the missile that was unintentionally launched by Croix, but also, she was able to fly on a broomstick for the first time, all thanks to her heart believing in magic, today will no doubt be an unforgettable day, I look at Croix, she was still a bit devastated, but looking at me, she kind of smiled.
"She's made it... It looks like your student has made it, it fills me with pride to see that she can get very far" Meridies said, in a much softer tone than before, it seems that even then a weight has come off her shoulders.
"And now what do we do? Everyone now knows I am Chariot, I have even handed you over to the law, the WCI must be hunting you by now" I tell her, a little worried.
"Yeah I figured, you must have had a plan behind it too, that's why I sped up to get it, but you know what, in the end I'm gonna do the right thing, I'm not gonna run away, if it means spending another 10 years away from you and still leaving you without being yourself I can't let you, because I also know what it's like to pretend to be someone you're not to everyone... I'm gonna give myself up Chariot I think your girl is deserving yes of Claiomh Solais, she has proven herself now and on top of that battled to be recognised, she is hardworking and I have faith that Akko can bring change, now I really do... I couldn't see it at the time because I was blind, because I felt and sunk in frustration, in the end I was just acting like Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda... What if... What if the Gran Triskellion is like the Dragon Scroll?" Said Croix which I started to laugh a little.
"Seriously you tell me a reference from a movie like that? I watched it when I graduated here, the worse it was in my head, you really are a Tai Lung and Akko is being Po, she is the girl that everyone would put down, but now she is going to the top" I tell her that agrees with her head and then gives me her hand.
We kind of stare at each other, it's been a busy day for me, things have been a rollercoaster, since yesterday in fact, now that I'm seeing Croix having some humanity I can even smile, we get a little closer, then we touch lips, a seal before we part again, then I feel her hand on my waist, I'm running my hand down my Italian's body, feeling her curves one last time, I lift my leg passing in between hers, which after the kiss came a warm hug.
"I love you Chariot Du Nord" she said very close to my ear, where we then went on, just looking around a bit, we kind of stared at each other, I gave a smile where we stared at each other.
"I hope one day to be really sure that you have really changed" I tell her who is still smiling a little.
"It's hard to believe, isn't it? But I will make you have this certainty, I think that in the end I deserved all this, and I have to pay, I ruined your life, I ruined the lives of several children, all in the name of a mission that was not mine, by my stubbornness I wanted to be a protagonist in this fight, I could have helped you, I could have found the words with you, I am really sorry, from the bottom of my heart, I think that being without flying with the broom for the rest of my life and also being arrested will be my penalties? With this moment of ours I go flying on my broomstick taking her for a ride back to Luna Nova, seeing that everyone was there in the back, kind of waiting for us even, I see the students, the teachers, the WCI agents, everyone, without hiding my hair, and soon agent Morris arrives near us.
"Very well Croix Meridies, we have a warrant for you, due to the evidence and everything that has happened lately you will be arrested and taken into custody until the day of your trial, well anyway I am even relieved that you surrendered willingly, as for you Chariot Du Nord, you will still remain under the identity of Ursula until the day of trial which will determine the fate of both given the circumstance that you two are inside a huge case of crimes involving witchcraft" Said agent Morris who was handcuffing Croix.
"Goodbye Croix" I say this giving a last hug, this time I held on a lot, I kept looking at Rosemary, showing a crying expression, passing the time, I kind of don't want to let go, so much that I see later the other two agents going to both of us and Rose signalling to them not to come.
"I know this hurts too much Chariot, but you need to let her go" Said the agent who then gave a little push amidst our hugs, which separates us.
- Ciao Chariot Du Nord ti voglio bene" She spoke in Italian and I know her words exactly until they went out the line of Ley hanging from a broom where she was taken by Officer Morris on her broom, I on the other hand went just crying, feeling hands on my shoulders afterwards.
An image of her leaving that moved me a lot, at the same time I felt relieved, I'm finally being able to see an evolution in the person Croix has become now, I don't know if I can trust it, but all in all I liked that she said nice words, then I turn to Akko and the other girls who come up to me, sort of standing up like I'm the biggest celebrity.
"This one is the one who saved us! Our teacher Chariot! I told you Chariot was a big witch, now look at her among us, she who was our teacher Ursula" Akko said carrying me and then the others sort of threw me into a party.
"Let's give a big round of applause to the great Chariot Du Nord!" said another of the girls and with that they all cheered me up and I finally felt somehow respected and recognized as I am and this is wonderful, never before have I felt so happy as I do now, all this adoration? For the nine witches, it fills my heart, until they let me down on the floor and Headmistress Holbrooke arrives.
"Welcome back to Luna Nova, Chariot Du Nord" she said and I smiled back at her.
Then I was walking in the middle of everyone as if it was a corridor going through the inside of Luna Nova, feeling as if it was a new transition in my life, now I'm back to that girl from the past, only with the maturity that I gained being Ursula, I arrive at the headmaster's room where the girls were and with that she goes walking to a box, that when she opens she takes out their medals.
"What is all this?" Akko asks.
"To all of you who saved Luna Nova and freed us from the hands of Professor Croix, I decorate you as heroes of Luna Nova, you will have the nomination inside your yearbooks as well as you will also win merit badges, even you Akko, for your courage and bravery of being the ones who stood up to the danger" She said and I was the first, lowering my neck and receiving the medal.
POV Narrator:
A decisive battle that also required a lot of courage and quick decisions to be taken by Diana and Akko to prevent the missile from causing greater damage and consequently killing everyone in Luna Nova, but thanks to the brave witches who managed, none of this can happen and all are safe, but still have issues to resolve about the case of Chariot that also involves the presence of Croix.
