Saturday, 8 September 2018, Luna Nova
The first weekend after returning to school in Luna Nova arrives, with it comes the call for a RPG game that was prepared by Annabel that would involve the fiction of the book Night Fall, with the master herself at the table, the guests to participate would be Diana, Akko, Barbara, Lotte, They spent the whole week assembling their characters and making the different attributes they wanted, according also to the classes, having the drawings made by Akko, Diana, Hellene and Marianne, who were helping a lot in the whole artistic process. The day arrives soon and they all gather in the middle of the blue team's room at Diana's request, since there is more space there, besides having food nearby which was bought specially for the event.
POV Akko:
I am so excited, my character is going to rock this RPG, my archer witch has the best attributes, I can even imagine how it is going to be, the girls are still coming and I see Diana's character, her name is Eleanor, she is a support mage, who uses healing magic by the way, I show Yoko to her and she is enjoying it.
"Good luck with Yoko, ye'll need a good accuracy with the bow and from what I can see, she has very little MP, ye'll use the bow more than the spells themselves, otherwise the rest is well balanced" she said.
"Ah, just playing will be fun for me" I say excitedly.
Annabel soon arrives and also with the girls of her team and I already see a reaction coming from Barbara who got all excited with her arrival, she brought a box and when she takes it out she reveals that there is a whole board, I'm even impressed, it looks like a map and I love it, a dice with 20 sides, I thought that we would never see one of these, how cool.
"You all hand me your character sheets" Annabel said.
We gave it to her and she put some wood on top of the board, then she used her magic, she carved the wood making each one of our characters, that's really cool, I never thought there was a magic like that... Wow, then she gives us again the papers with the tokens of our characters.
"Always keep an eye on the character sheet and also look at the inventory whenever you can on the back, this sheet will only serve to guide you, the RPG is kind of magical in this matter, the pieces will move with my magic, now that everything is done, we can start, but before we decide who will start, draw on the dice" said the blonde.
We started to take our turns on the die, Mirage was the first and she got an 11, then Brooke was the next one, she got 9, I got the die and was cheering, I hope I get a good number, for the nine witches. I got 5, ahhhhhhhhh, Diana was next, she got 14, Lotte got 7, Barbara got 12, Jeanne got 10, Hellene got 17 and it was already the biggest shock the biggest number until then, Marianne is the last and she plays anyway just getting 20 I was amazed, this girl is too lucky.
"That dice must be rigged" I say inflating my cheeks.
"Gee Akko, just because you got a five? Look on the bright side, if it was a six-sided die you would get it" Lotte said and I continued kind of grumbling.
"It is important to remember that your actions will vary according to what you take from the dice, you must first tell me what you are going to do in relation to the game, very well now I will start the game" Annabel said.
"With my luck I already imagine that Yoko will die soon" I say all hopeful, so much that the girls go away laughing.
Annabel kind of claps her hands together, which transforms the whole world of the game, I honestly feel like I'm inside the game, it's really cool, I can't wait to play, and be inside the character, too bad I'll be the last one.
"The day is dawning in the land of Night Fall, Reiko is the first to get up and go out on an adventure, what do you intend to do to start this adventure, what action will you take?" Said Annabel and now it begins and I will finally get to see what it's like.
"I will go to the village of Faraway which is located near my hideout, to look for a job" said Marianne who then rolled the dice and got a 14.
"Reiko goes quietly by the way in the city, arriving there she goes to a tavern, asking for a drink, spending 1 coin and in this who sits next to her is Tanya" Narrates the blonde and now I'm going to understand the immersion.
"Oh you always come 'ere?" Hellene asks.
"I'm just looking for a job, do you have something for me?" Said Marianne and now I'm understanding, then the redhead rolls the dice and lands right on 19, but what luck.
"A walker arrives at the tavern, sits down next to the two as he orders a drink, communicating about a dragon that is in Hugraes' cave, offering a reward of a thousand coins for the brave hunter who manages to kill the dragon and both end up accepting, in a house near Hugraes' cave, Eleanor was waking up for another magic practice, when she goes out to see outside and look at the landscape"
"Oh today is a beautiful day, I hope I'm ready tae do another mission" Said Diana who then rolls the dice and pulls out a 10.
"Roars are heard from Hugraes' cave, what arouses Eleanor's curiosity, which gets down from her house and goes to investigate what it is, but in the middle of the way meets a group of golems that end up hitting a punch in the middle of Eleanor's stomach throwing her back and losing 10 points of her HP, but luckily came to coincide with Tanya and Reiko appearing, the first fights against the Golens with her gauntlet and manages to get the best, destroying a golem with just one hit, Reiko finishes with the second using sword strokes, but loses 2 points of HP" Annabel said
I notice that Diana had lost a little bit of HP, right beside me, besides seeing the little dolls moving, but that's cool, I'm loving playing this, my turn hasn't even arrived yet, it's nice to see how they move and interact, I even feel inside the game, as if the characters' faces were ours.
"Rebecca was in the forests, listening to the roars of the creature from Hugraes' cave, which ends up making her see everything from afar from the fight, what action will she take?" Annabel said.
"I'm going to walk to them" Said Barbara who rolls the dice and pulls out a 3 and it looks like it's not good at all.
"Rebecca climbs on her broom, starting to go flying towards the cave, but in the middle of the way the broom breaks, in the fall Rebecca loses 5 HP points, besides being surrounded by a group of goblins, all that is left to her is to scream for help, since she is without her staff around, which depends on Uria to solve the situation, which was in the trees" Annabel said, until it was not so much HP.
"I have to help her" said Mirage who rolls the dice drawing a 12.
"Rebecca tries to defend herself using her own strength, but the goblins are much stronger than her, managing to hit her and thus she ends up losing another 10 points of HP, only that in the middle of this Uria appears and hits one of the goblins, while the others were still distracted tying Rebecca, with the intention of capturing her, by the scream of the first being killed they end up being on alert and go for top of Uria, that sees having many and even manages to kill one, but loses 3 points of HP, in the middle of the noises the Charlotte Magne warrior was riding in the middle of the place, Rebecca stubbornly tried to get free and escape, but one of the Goblins hits a kick and she loses more 3 points of HP"
"Oh Goblins and people in danger, I have to save these girls" Said Jeanne who rolled the dice drawing an 18 and by the nine witches, Barbara's character must be dying by now.
"Charlotte arrives with a spear on her horse, she starts to simply make fun of each of the remaining Goblins, killing one by one, of the three that were left, leaving practically untouched, which she picks up later to help the girls, putting some bandages on Rebecca that will be able to restore 2 of HP every turn that rolls in the match, in the middle of this they talk about what happened" Said Annabel.
"Thank you so much, you really saved me" Barbara said.
"Oh that was nothing, but what caused you to be attacked by goblins? You know this is the Goblin zone, we can't walk around here without flinching," Jeanne said.
"I know, I was heading towards a group that was going to Hugraes cave" She said.
"Hugraes cave is dangerous, I heard there is a dragon there" Mirage said.
"So let's fight the dragon together" Jeanne said.
"Rydia made her faces and she overheard the girls' conversation, being someone who can assist the journey, what action will Rydia take?"
"Summon mounts for the other girls and we go to Hugraes cave" Brooke said and I'm looking forward to my turn, it's coming up, she got 17, that was quite lucky on the dice.
"Rydia manages to summon two more horses, riding on one, with Charlotte on her own horse, while the one that remained was left to Uria and Rebecca who are on the same horse, which did not trot as fast as the others, on the way they pass through the forest trail quietly" Annabel said.
Now it will be Lotte, I can't wait to see how it will fit into the story, this is all very cool, the little dolls moving, give an even greater immersion, it's nice to see that Annabel proposed to give this more immersion, I want to see what all this will give, this is just the beginning of the game.
"Halfway there they meet a bard who was playing his harp, Lily quickly waved to the group and went to wonder what was going on" Now it's Lotte's turn to show up.
"Hi how are you? Where are you going?" Lotte asks.
"We are going to Hugraes' cave" Jeanne said.
"Oh, but it's not dangerous there, they'll need the help of one more in the group" said my friend who then rolled the dice taking 9, which might not be so good.
"Oh no, it seems that a group of floating eyes appeared in the middle of the way and were following Lily this whole time, hitting a lightning on the blonde's back and thus making her lose 6 points of her HP, what nearby there was the archer Yoko, she was hunting in the forest when she heard the sounds of screaming creatures, that were defending the bard" Now it's me, it's time to shine, by the nine witches, may I take a cool number.
"I'm going to go and help!" I say looking up excitedly and shoot the dice, I'm even amazed when the dice finally give me a decent number, 19 yay, I'm going to do well for the whole round.
"Yoko jumped from tree to tree and shot magic arrows to call the attention of the floating eyes distracting them, which spends 5 MP, then turns the opportunity for Jeanne and the others to attack the rest of the creatures and so she joins the group that will start going towards Hugraes' cave" Annabel said.
"I'm Yoko it's really nice to meet you guys" I say all excited.
"Ah so it was you who launched the arrows, thank you very much for your help" Jeanne said, I even feel inside the character.
"That bard did not bring us good luck, but we managed to defeat those floating eyes" Barbara said.
"Spoke the one who got us into the biggest trap with the Goblins" Uria teases.
"All right, let's get going, we'll soon reach Hugraes' cave," Jeanne said, letting everyone get organised.
"And so the group goes in the direction of Hugraes' Cave, which they go on a mission to meet the other group that has already entered it, on the way to defeat the dragon that is hidden in the deep cave that is full of dangers, besides many other creatures that circulate it" Annabel said.
Wow, I'm loving this, we're kind of moving on the board, Annabel is kind of telling us what's going on in each game, I never thought a game like this could be so fun, it's cool even when I'm waiting for my turn, it's really cool to imagine what's going to happen next, I can't wait to see how they're going to get along, I'm already very lucky, with 19 on the dice I can easily survive the first round, Barbara and Lotte almost died on the first round hahaha.
The match goes on, in the middle of the cave, some of the girls end up having less luck, after all the luck Akko sank into bad luck, ending up almost dying, but luckily being saved by Diana, and the match became intense, where they arrived together to the part of the Cave where the Dragon was...
Man how I did not die in this, good thing that Diana has been saving me, what shame I've been going, the biggest bad luck, now I hope we defeat this dragon at once, we are all against the beast, it should not be so big, but out of nowhere appears and gets big, to make matters worse Annabel put to play the Final Fantasy IV boss music, she already did the battle songs.
"The dragon of Hugraes appears, he has 1000 HP, you will need to attack with wisdom and precision if you want to defeat the huge creature, he arrives spitting fire, all of you will defend yourselves with the help of the shield made with the help of Rebecca and Eleanor, protecting all of you from the fire, but spending 5 MP in the process, it's up to you, Reiko"
"What a huge thing, I'm going to attack by throwing a knife that was in my pocket" Marianne said and there's no way she's going to be able to do any damage with a knife, she rolls the die and simply takes 20.
"The knife misses the dragon, but hits a stalactite, which ends up splitting and falling right on the dragon's wing, taking 71 HP from the creature, an excellent blow from Reiko who manages to do well without suffering any damage, Tanya is with you" I swear this Mari was born with her ass turned to the moon, her character has the lowest attributes, her attacks are weak, but she invested a lot in luck, you can tell just by the way she attacked.
"I will attack with a stalagmite dat is on my side" Said Hellene who rolled the dice drawing an 11.
"Tanya punches the stalagmite to pick it up and throw it at the dragon, but she is hit from above by a stone coming from the ceiling, losing 2 of HP and getting a little bewildered, with that she throws the sharp stone towards the dragon and even hits, but grazing what ends up making the creature lose only 12 of HP" Annabel said and it seems that luck is not on our side, now it's up to Diana.
"I'm going tae heal everyone" Said Diana who rolls the dice and ends up falling with 4, by the nine witches, now fucked.
"Eleanor, is starting to do the healing spell, but in the middle of the way the dragon is taking the stalactite crossed in its wing which ends up hitting the witch and can't heal anyone, besides the strong piece of stone takes 25 of HP" Puts now it's up to Barbara, fucked up for good.
"I will cast an ice spell" I said to Parker who is not one of the luckiest, so much so that we were apprehensive, but at the time the die fell on a 16, but how wonderful, we were lucky.
"Rebecca, conjures an ice spell, right when the dragon was going to spit fire, the ice spell managed to stand out and enter the dragon's mouth, which left it all stunned, leaving a gap for the attack, besides taking 50 of the creature's HP" That's wonderful, we're managing to get along well.
"I'm going to set a trap" Mirage said, rolling the dice and gettin don't think it's going to be very good.
"Uria goes after the dragon to prepare the trap, but it ends up hitting her with its tail, taking 12 HP from the thief, but she still keeps on preparing her trap to be able to hold a dragon, and it can be ready in the next turn" it wasn't that lucky, but at least she can make it.
"I will attack with the sword" Said Jeanne, rolling the dice and getting a 13
"Charlotte, goes up with everything, hitting a blow in the stomach of the dragon that loses 23 of HP, on the other hand the creature counterattacks with a kick that throws the warrior backwards losing 9 of HP, thanks to the armor she was protected enough" Annabel said and it looks like this is going to be quite a fight.
Wow this battle is really hard but I am loving it, it is cool this little thing, to battle, even if we lose I will have a lot of fun, the game makes us lose track of time, I feel inside, like my character, I hope this time Yoko gets a good one.
A few rounds later the dragon was already with less than 200 HP, the situation was very complicated for the whole group...
Damn, now we have little life and the worst of all is that Annabel doesn't show us how much life the dragon has just to add more suspense, she only said in the beginning that he has 1000 life, but all the time we hit him and he doesn't die, besides that every round at the end this damn thing still restores life, for the nine witches, what are we going to do now?
"It's time to detonate dat dragon" said Hellene who draws a 14 on the dice.
"Tanya goes up to the dragon propelling herself by a makeshift seesaw made by Uria, jumping towards the creature's face, a little burned by the fire, but hitting a well placed punch on the monster's face that loses 43 of HP, strong enough to stun the creature" Annabel said and I really hope we don't end up dying here.
"One cure too many" Said Diana who miraculously got an 18 on the dice what a relief.
"Eleanor manages to finish a healing spell and restores 50 of the group's HP, which guarantees one more survival" Annabel said and I got excited, I was already almost dead with 4 of HP, but now I can breathe.
"I'm going to kill the dragon" Barbara said and on the spot the die gives a 12
"Rebecca uses a chain spell, but in this one she ends up being hit by the dragon's tail for being behind it, losing 22 HP in the process and hitting the wall, which may leave her weaker next turn" Damn everything bad about this game is incredible.
"I'm going to rock on top of the dragon" Mirage said but the dice give 7 and now she's fucked.
"The stone is thrown, but the dragon is not hit, so the creature took the opportunity to throw fire at the moment that the stone fell and several debris are flying all over the scene hitting each of the warriors that lose 5 of HP" Damn! Now that the bad luck came for good.
"I will use the sword again" Said Jeanne who can pull out a 14 and now it will go too good, I am sure.
"Charlotte goes up to the dragon and with her sword she hits a slash that rips one of the wings out taking 44 HP, but in the middle of the blow the heavy wings fall over her taking 12 HP" She is lucky to have armour, she is always protected.
"I'm out of MP, what the hell, I've already summoned what I had to summon, I'll take a potion" Brooke said taking a 10 on her dice.
"Rydia checks the inventory, picking up a magic restoring potion, she ends up taking it, but in the middle of it she is hit by a dragon's kick losing 19 HP and not being able to take all of it, managing to restore 12 of her total MP" Wow, we're not doing well apparently.
"I'll sing and use the music to stun the dragon" said Lotte, who got a nice 15 on the dice.
"Lily will start a song where the dragon had hit its foot on the ground and hit a rock on her head that lost 7 HP, but still she kept going and that made the creature more relaxed in its corner" Now it's up to me, I have to see if I'm going to make it
"I'm going to hit an exploding arrow" I say rolling the dice.
It was like a moment of slow motion for me, I've already lost a little bit of life for nonsense this round, I hope I can make it, it's my last MP trace, I'll already be zeroed, the die is falling and going through the numbers, any one above 10 please, go...go...and the die falls with 18, now I'll be able to win for good.
"Yoko manages to launch the explosive arrow that catches well on the dragon's jaw and causing a multiple explosion to all sides and thus the creature was finally defeated, falling dead on the ground, my congratulations you managed to defeat the first monster and conquer the first goal" Annabel said.
I was watching all the action on the enchanted dolls, my Yoko shooting an arrow right at the dragon that ended up being hit with all gusto, then falling down and we could catch the rest of it, gee this is really cool, RPG is cooler than I thought it would be, by the nine witches, I loved it, but now I sincerely want to rest a little.
"Let's stop a bit for today, we've already played too much - Diana said.
"I agree, but it was great fun - Hellene said.
"Well then I'll put everything away, shall we play more next week? - Annabel asked and we nodded our heads in agreement.
"Wow this is amazing, I never thought a game like this would be so cool," I say excitedly.
"Neither do I, now I know why my mother loves to play that with her friends - Hellene said.
"Does your mother play? How old is she? - Diana asks.
"46, she said it was quite popular in her teenage years, it was kind of her way of playing, but it was too complex to understand, but now that I've played it seems simple enough - Hellene said.
"Wow, 46... My mother would be 46 if she was alive... It's interesting to see people that age also playing, oh yeah, your mum is the one at Saorise Games, now that I stopped to remember - said Diana
"She loves to play, you have no idea, she always beats me in every game, you could come over sometime - Hellene said and I'm already sniffing things out, that's right, go meet your mother Diana.
Annabel soon finishes organizing the table, putting the game away and with that we eat what we still had of food and it was a lot of stuff, I loved playing this, the two of them are kind of talking and getting along, I'm helping Annabel with things.
"Annabel... What do you say we take a walk tomorrow, we could... go to a bookshop" How cute that Barbara was all shy, I think someone got interested.
"Oh, sure, why not, I'll just be scared of them wanting my autographs, but that's fine" She said, looks like we'll have someone else in there having chemistry.
"Ah I'll love it too, I also have several fanfics to show you that I did myself, some from Night Fall, some original, you'll love them" And here they come.
I see that Mirage, Brooke and Jeanne are leaving, as I also notice that Mari is still with Diana and Hellene, does she know something? I hope she doesn't think the two are getting along for another reason, that would be pretty weird, I think she must have a notion.
"She loved to compete with brooms, she even wanted to set up an official broomstick championship around de world, boeht she gave up de idea to focus on Saoirse Games, she and April 'ave been best friends for a long time, dey get along very well with each other, you have to see, boeht no one stirred 'er heart more dan B.C. Stewart, she was someone remarkable" Hellene said.
"B.C Stewart? And do ye know who she is?" Said Diana all with her hand on her chin.
"It's been a long time since my mother died. It was 'orrible, we went to 'er 'ouse, we were mistreated by 'er sister and everything else, you can't imagine, boeht even so we carried on until de last days, seeing 'er die in front of me was a pain that I will never forget.." said Hellene while Diana put her hand on her head.
"I know how it is, I lost mine when I went tae the Shiny Chariot show, she dinnae want me tae have the pain of watching her die, I dinnae even know about the other mother, but one day I'll find out and I think she deserves a hug more than anyone, even more after what she must have been through" Diana said and she really has no idea.
After that hug, we say goodbye, seeing that it was getting dark, we lost track of time, we say goodbye to Diana and Barbara, who were the only ones left, Lotte had left a long time ago, I go with the two girls of the purple team, we walk in the corridors until in the window of the stairs a stone is thrown in front of us.
"What's that?" I ask, going to the stone.
"I've already told you to stay away from Diana, and you also don't try in the slightest to mention the truth to them, or the lives of those you love most will be at risk, just like yours"
"She's dreatening us again" Hellene said.
"Us? Does Marianne know?" I say half shocked.
"Yesterday Daryl wanted to appear to us, now she knows, but she's trustworthy, we have to find a way to make dat damn ding stop chasing us" Hellene said.
"It's a shocking story, you've heard it" Mari said and I nodded.
"You have no idea, when I connect with the past that Diana told me everything makes sense and comes together, I hope one day you can come together as a family, she must be suffering so much, all because of Daryl" I tell them.
"Well, we are more in number, she can't try anything against us, we will be well connected and also, I want to see if she really is all that, I may be afraid when I see her, boeht I am strong too" said Hellene showing her arm that even under her school shirt is big.
"Strength is not everything either, she must be smarter than us, so we have to be smarter than her if we want to defeat her" Mari said.
From there we went down the stairs, where we then separated in our rooms, I arrive at mine and just lay down on the bed, look this Daryl knows how to cause a psychological terror, but even so what surprised me is that today was nice, this RPG game was one of the most fun things I've done, it was worth every second playing, it was really unique, now I understand all the appeal it has, I can't wait to see Yoko's evolution when we play next week, I just want to see what will happen in the end.
POV Narrator:
The RPG game was a real success among the girls, who enjoyed every round, even when they didn't succeed, which Annabel showed how good she was at mastering a table, making a first mission really interesting, besides spending a good few hours playing until they finished, all based on a good interpretation and the use of imagination, which brings the girls from the second year closer to the new girls from the first year.

Annabel, another one of the new students that came from this crop of Luna Nova, in this case this one that is already an old known by all due to her work with the 366 books series, Night Fall, by which is passed from writer to writer, by which end up being named Annabel Crème as soon as they end up with the magic pen, having to write the destiny of the witches' favourite fiction book. Annabel already had this name before, but she ended up getting the Crème when she was cursed by the pen, what she doesn't seem to care much about this condition, since she is also a big fan of the book she writes, even being just a teenager, she demonstrates that she loves to do what she does, besides enhancing the story with her visions, but that besides Night Fall, the girl also has her interests outside, being them playing an RPG once in a while and being able to make some friends.
