Erin never planned to return to Chicago. She'd taken Hank's advice of "Don't look back" to heart. But three years after she left, she's forced to return to Chicago. When she shows up at the 21st District with her two-year-old daughter, questions arise from her former coworkers. How will they react to her return? And how will Erin react to being forced to confront her demons?

Kim is a cop moving to Chicago to escape her abusive husband who is now in jail. Leaving a single parent to two kids. She joins the Intelligence unit, drama ensues, cases come and go but will she fall in love again. Will she see the possibility is a new relationship? One last misadventure with Jay Halstead and, my goodness, have we saved the craziest for last. One final ride, one more story, let's see our hero and king gut it out one more time. This is Blinding Lights.

Set starting in season 5, Hailey gets a call from Med about a sister she didn’t know she had. She and her husband, Jay, bring the little girl home, and the rest is history.

Jay Halstead faces peril in his job on a daily basis with the Intelligence Unit but also deals with the difficulties of raising his ten year old son on his own as a single father. These challenges, along with the mystery surrounding Liam's mother and her disappearance years ago, keep life interesting. Every day is a challenge, one he can only hope he is up for.
