Summary: When you're old enough to recognize injustice but too young to fix it.
Prompt: July 4 - Have age factor into your work today
The mystery was solved and the murderers were, if there was any justice in the afterlife, being judged at a higher bar than was on earth. It was small consolation in the face of their losses, though. Elizabeth was dead. Waxflatter was dead. All the credit for solving the mystery was being given to Sergeant Lestrade. Sherlock Holmes was still wrongfully expelled while that unctuous prig Dudley and his cronies remained at Brompton.
It was unfair, monstrously and gallingly so. But being only a fourteen year old schoolboy, newly friendless, without any pull or prestige, there was nothing John Watson could do but record it all in his personal journal.
