After their journey in the Galore Islands has ended, our heroes have returned to Centros Region. At the moment, they have arrived in Floriba City at the Floriba Gym. The reason they were there was because Tetsu got a message from someone and told him they would be arriving at his home.

Tetsu was waiting a little impatiently. He seemed a little nervous waiting for whoever it was.

"Look at him. I don't think I've seen him this nervous." Davis said.

"Considering who is meeting him here, it's understandable." Cletus said. "I was a little surprised myself when we heard from her."

"Is she here yet?!" Nami said as she and Navy came running in.

"Yeah. We're really excited for this." Navy said.

"Will you two be cool for once?" Tetsu said.

"What do you mean? We're the talks of the town. We're always cool." Navy said, but Tetsu was already going to regret this. That was when he heard the doors open and he got a little anxious as someone.

"Hi, Tetsu."

"Marina! Hi!" Tetsu said as they were meeting up with an old friend.

(Davis' voice) The Waves that Guide Us

Tetsu got a call from Marina, the water performer they met a while ago, saying she was going to be in Floriba City. Once that happened, he wanted to head straight home so he would be able to see her. Of course, Nami and Navy know about her as well.

"So, this is the fan of ours you were talking about!" Nami said.

"And the fellow performer that you seemed happy talking about!" Navy said as the two of them were assuming things between them, but Tetsu pushed them away.

"Marina, I'm sure you know about my sisters." Tetsu said.

"Yeah... They're just teasing you. In fact, I was here once before." Marina said. "When I told them I knew you, we got to talking."

"So, what brings you to the gym?" Tetsu asked.

"Maybe I just wanted to see you." Marina said with Tetsu starting to blush and the girls getting giddy about what might be unfolding between them. As happy as he is to see Marina again, his sisters aren't going to make it easy on them.

Davis and Cletus

Davis and the others decided to give Tetsu and Marina a little privacy and allow them some time to talk. While they were talking, Davis gave Professor Maple a call to see how things were with her.

"I'm glad to hear that you won, Davis. That's certainly great." Professor Maple said. "Davis, you should also know that I heard from Professor Oak. He received your trophy and said he be more than willing to hold on to it for you."

"Thanks a lot, Professor Maple." Davis said.

"So, now that your journey in the Galore Islands is over, have you all decided on what you're going to do next?" Professor Maple questioned, but none of them really had an answer to that. "Undecided? Well, that's fine. Let me know if there is anything I can really do for you boys."

"We will. Thank you." Cletus said.

"You all take care now." Professor Maple said as she ended the call. However, she does have them all thinking on what they're going to do now.

"Davis... Have you thought about what you're going to do?" Cletus questioned.

"Not yet. I thought I would have the answer to that after my battle against Michelle, but it looks like I don't." Davis said. "What about you? Do you think maybe you'll go back to your family's restaurant and resume your duties as the gym leader once again?"

"Honestly, I haven't really thought about that." Cletus said. "I'm not really sure I want to return to being a gym leader just yet. I've had a lot of fun on this journey, but I'm sure you want to return home." That was a bit troubling for Davis since he doesn't have a home to return to, but Cletus and Tetsu still don't know the truth about them just yet. What exactly are they going to do?

Tetsu

"I'm sorry about my sisters." Tetsu said as he and Marina were hanging by the pool and he allowed her pokemon to play around with the gym pokemon. "They might think they're glamorous superstars or something, but they can be so irritating."

"It's okay." Marina said. "When I met them before, they were rather nice. They might be a little irritating to you, but they are nice people."

"I'm not saying they aren't, but you know our story." Tetsu said.

"On that note, I heard what was going on. The Centros League is over, and your friend took part in it." Marina said. "Now that it's over, what are you going to do? Are you going to become the official gym leader of this gym?"

"I'm not really sure." Tetsu said as they all didn't think about what they were going to do at the end of their journey. "I went on this journey to find ways to become a better gym leader since I'm the only one out of the three of us who takes it serious. I guess I haven't really thought about if I'm ready or not."

"When do you think you will be?" Marina asked.

"I'm not really sure..." Tetsu said as he wasn't sure what to think.

"I actually know how you feel." Marina said. "Sometimes when I'm out on the road, I'm not sure where to go myself. It can be a little difficult, but you find a way."

"But that's not the same as me." Tetsu said. "It's not about where I go from here. It's more about if I'm actually ready take the position. Do I really have what it takes now? Before, I wasn't sure I was because I had no one to really teach me how to be a great gym leader."

"But surely you had to have had learned a few things while you were out on the road." Marina said. Tetsu did, but does that mean he can be the kind of gym leader he wants to be. Marina seems to think so as she put her hand on his shoulder in support. "You've got to try something, Tetsu. You're a great guy that loves water-types. I'm sure you're better than you think." She really seems to think that, and the way she smiles at him just seems to make him feel more assure.

'Oh man...' Tetsu thought as he felt his face blushing. 'What is it about her that has me so...?' He didn't finish that thought as he spotted his sisters spying on him. He was getting mad as they tried to hide.

"I hope we're not interrupting." That was when Davis and Cletus came walking in. "Everything going okay in here?" Davis asked.

"I'll take you guys over my nosy sisters." Tetsu said.

"I say you're timing is perfect." Marina said. "You two are just in time for a double battle."

"Double Battle?!" All of them said.

"What are you talking about?" Imperialdramon questioned.

"Marina, where are you going with this?" Tetsu questioned.

"You and me against your friends here. Maybe having an actual battle will help you see that you are ready for the responsibilities of being a gym leader." Marina said. "You can even use one of my pokemon."

"Why one of yours? Why not one of mine?" Tetsu questioned.

"Using a water-type that isn't yours could help you see that you are ready." Marina said.

"I think I see what Marina is saying. This could actually be good for you." Cletus said.

"And you two would get to battle together." Davis teased as he implied something else.

"Come on. It will be fun." Marina said. "Huntail and Gorebyss, come here." She said as her two pokemon came to her. "Are you two up for a battle?" It sounded like both of them were. Tetsu thought it over and he did need to see if he was ready to be a full-time gym leader.

"Okay. Let's do it." Tetsu said. He agreed to the battle and was using the gym's battlefield for this. It was a double battle like Marina said with Cletus and Davis using Herdier and Venomoth while Marina and Tetsu were using Gorebyss and Huntail.

"They're actually having a battle?" Navy questioned.

"This should be good. Seeing those two battle could help see what a cute couple those two could make." Nami said.

"Okay, since this is just a practice battle for Tetsu, we won't use pokemon that have the type advantage." Cletus said. "I'm also setting a timer for five minutes. Does that work for everyone else?"

"Fine with me." Davis said.

"No complaints here." Tetsu said.

"I guess I'll be the ref or something." Imperialdramon said as he wasn't sure what else to do. "This is really weird."

"Well, what are we waiting for?! Let's do this! Venomoth, start this battle by using Psybeam!" Davis called.

"Venomoth!" Venomoth fired a beam from its eyes and began the battle, but both Gorebyss and Huntail swam around and avoided the attack.

"Herdier, help us by using Shadow Ball!" Cletus called.

"Herdier!" Herdier started firing its attack to try and get a good hit.

"Gorebyss, Aqua Tail!" Marina called.

"Gorebyss!" Gorebyss emerged out of the water and gathered water around its tail, smashing it against Venomoth.

"I guess I got nothing to lose. Huntail, let's use Aqua Tail as well on Herdier!" Tetsu called. Huntail jumped out of the water and smashed it against Herdier and dealt some damage. "Now use Ice Beam!"

"Huntail!" Huntail fired a beam of ice at them.

"I don't think so! Venomoth, Psybeam once more!" Davis called. Both pokemon used their respective attacks and were able to hold the other attack back.

"Herdier, let's use Take Down!" Cletus called. Herdier jumped across the platforms and was heading straight for Huntail.

"Huntail, under the water!" Tetsu called. Huntail stopped using Ice Beam and dived under and was able to avoid both attacks.

"Gorebyss, Confusion on Herdier!" Marina called. Gorebyss used the power of its mind and Herdier was sent flying back with it crashing into Venomoth.

"Huntail, Aqua Tail!" Tetsu called. Huntail emerged right from under them and smashed its tail right against both pokemon with both of them taking some damage.

"See, Tetsu? You're doing rather well when you never battled with Huntail before, and Huntail is my pokemon." Marina said. "Wouldn't a gym leader be able to do something like that?"

"I guess so..." Tetsu said as he was starting to see what he's capable of.

"Those two make quite a team." Cletus said.

"But I'm not in the mood of losing a battle." Davis said. "Venomoth, Gust!" Venomoth started flapping its wings and picked up a strong gust of wind with both pokemon getting caught in it.

"Herdier, Shadow Ball at Rapid Fire!" Cletus called. Herdier unleashed a series of the same attack and tried blasting both of them.

"Huntail, I want you to use Whirlpool! Create a shield of water!" Tetsu called. Huntail did what he said as Huntail formed a whirlpool and was blocking both attacks. That didn't go the way Davis and Cletus expected.

"Gorebyss, Confusion on Venomoth!" Marina said. Gorebyss used the power of its mind on Venomoth this time and sent Venomoth flying in the wall.

"Aqua Tail!" Tetsu called. Huntail attacked Herdier with Aqua Tail and smashed it against Herdier. Herdier was knocked out after that attack, as was Venomoth.

"Uh... Venomoth and Herdier are both unable to battle." Imperialdramon said as he tried being the ref.

"They beat them before time was up!" Cletus said.

"Both of them really do make an effective team." Davis said as they were amazed they pulled it off. It had Tetsu thinking he really could do this.

...

Later

"Maybe you were right, Marina." Tetsu said as he and she stepped out. "Maybe I do have what it takes to be a great gym leader. I wasn't sure at first, but once the battle started, it all just began to fell in place. I have learned a lot about being a gym leader, and maybe it's time I used it."

"Does that mean you're going to be the official gym leader?" Marina questioned.

"I think..." Tetsu said. "What about you? What are you going to do?"

"Actually, I think I might stick around Floriba City for a while. I could always use more inspiration." Marina said with Tetsu liking that idea. Of course, the moment was ruined when Davis was making kissing noises to tease Tetsu with Tetsu getting annoyed.

"Tetsu, you honestly have nothing to worry about." Davis said. "Remember when we had an official gym battle? You were great back then."

"Davis is right. You're ready for this." Cletus encouraged.

"You're friends are right." He looked and saw Navy and Nami joining in.

"Little bro, you can do this." Navy said as Nami dropped down to him.

"Tetsu, Navy and I might not be as serious about the gym as you are, but we do understand it's important." Nami said.

"We really think it's time you obtain the role of gym leader. You're ready." Navy encouraged. If even his own sisters think he's ready for this, maybe he is.

"The only way I'll know is if I give it a real try." Tetsu said. "I think it is time. It's time I uptake the role of being the official gym leader." All of them agreed. It was time for Tetsu to become the official gym leader and it seemed like it was a happy ending.

It would seem that Tetsu's time as the Floriba Gym leader is finally at hand. The only way he'll know if he's really ready is to take the chance and face what comes with it.

"Oh! By the way!" Navy said. "I got a call from the Pennsila Gym. They say there's some sort of problem."

"What?! At my gym?!" Cletus said as this can't be good.
