Barbeque Story
"I guess you'll never see your dumb ol' ball again!" Angelica said with a sneer, tossing the ball up before bopping it with her fist, causing it to go flying over the fence. "I'm-"
"Angelica!" Didi cried out, marching over to her as Tommy began to sob. "What did you just do?"
"I… I was just playing with the babies-"
"You took Tommy's ball away from him and then you purposely knocked it into the next yard!" Didi said sternly as she picked up Tommy and began to bounce him, the baby whimpering and sniffling only to calm down as he spotted his ball. A plan began to form in his head on how to get it back… "That wasn't nice at all."
"But… I just…"
Drew chose that moment to walk up. "Didi, I'll handle this." He pulled Angelica over to the side and knelt down next to her. "That wasn't very nice, Angelica."
"Tommy was rude to me. He wouldn't say please."
Drew decided NOT to argue the fact that Tommy was a baby and couldn't even say any words. That would only lead down the wrong path for this conversation. "Angelica, you took his ball first, didn't you?"
"Well… maybe… but I was bored-"
"There are plenty of things you could do. We brought your activity pack, right?"
"I guess," Angelica said, scuffing her shoe against the ground.
"No, not 'I guess'. You were mean to Tommy. That isn't nice at all. You wouldn't like it if some big kid took Cynthia from you and then demanded you ask for her back nicely, would you?"
Angelica tensed at the thought of her beloved doll being taken away. "I'm… I'm sorry."
"I know you are and I won't punish you this time but I don't want you taking stuff from Tommy again. Not unless he lets you. And you certainly shouldn't toss his toys away."
"Okay daddy."
Drew smiled and gave her a hug before leading her over to where her activity pack was, deciding it might be good to spend a bit of time with his daughter. Stu had the burgers handled, afterall.
Meanwhile Tommy had just told his friends his plan to get his ball back. And while Chuckie wasn't sure Tommy knew he could do it… he could get the ball!
"A baby's gotta due what a baby's gotta due!" he proclaimed… just as his diaper came undone. He blushed, pulled it back up, then went for his screwdriver-
"Here you go, Tommy," Phil and Lil's dad said, walking over with Tommy's ball and handing it back to Tommy, causing him to blink, confused. "I talked to Mr. Perkins and he got it out of his yard." He patted Tommy on the head and went back to where he was sitting, Tommy happy he had his ball… but also feeling like he'd just lost out on a fun adventure…
Spike, meanwhile, got some of Didi's burger. Because he's a good boy.
